We just had our wedding ceremony and reception there yesterday and Donna and her staff went above and beyond our expectations to make sure everything was perfect for our big day. The food was absolutely delicious. I checked with my guests and all 70+ had great things to say about the quality and freshness of the food. Everyone was able to eat till they were full and the leftovers she boxed up for us to take home. The staff at the reception was phenomenal. Helped the guests that weren't able to walk to buffet tables. All the food was cooked on-site and piping hot. Iced tea was perfect. Not to sweet not to biter, just right. Lemonade was on point as well. The lady can straight up COOK!!!!!. From beginning to end our entire experience was top notch A-1 couldn't have went any better. Not a single complaint from any guests. Donna provides the ultimate event venue . Having Donna made it possible for us to relax and concentrate on other things. There's a dance floor, separate rooms for the Bride and groom, elevator. With all that being said I'd highly recommend this venue for weddings and any other event. I'd i had to do it all over again this is the place for me. What a Great Event? We celebrated our family's matriarch on her 80th birthday and it was FANTASTIC! Although we live in Virginia, Donna (the owner) was a pleasure to work with long distance. She was very communicative throughout our entire planning process, which spanned well over a year. On the day of the event, Donna allowed us into the venue early in order to set up for the celebration. Everything about the process was courteous and professional, with a very personal touch of Southern Hospitality that was truly heartfelt. On the day of the event, Donna and her staff at Osbornes prepared an incredibly delicious buffet which included her famous Garlic Chicken, Beef Stew, Roasted Vegetables, Rice and Gravy. There were about 60 people in attendance and every single person absolutely raved about how good the food tasted (we even brought some of the leftovers back to Virginia because it was so good!). I would highly recommend OSBORNES for any event! The venue is Regal, the staff are professional, the food is Absolutely going to satisfy any palate and the owner is the Best. Osborne's Venue is the kind of establishment that goes the extra mile with gracious southern hospitality. We recently attended a Wedding there where I lost a precious antique handkerchief. The Osborne Staff kindly searched the entire day's garbage to retrieve my treasure and mail it promptly to me In another part of the state! Who does that? No other caterer in my experience. Furthermore, the Buffet was excellent and ample with multiple savory and tender entrees and sides, including no less than a dozen desserts to suit every taste! All of the Servers were most professional and personable. You simply can't go wrong here for a cozy, delicious and efficiently organized event, Osborne's is definitely your place. We have used Osbornes Event Venue & Catering six times for various office events in the Columbia, SC area. The events have been hosted in one of our homes and Donna and crew catered. Osbornes was marvelous. Their hospitality and efficiency and are sensational and the food was, of course, spectacular. We will continue to use them whenever possible. The place was nice in the inside, not very big but well setup. Food was very good the service was good. However, the owner lady was a little insane. All she did all night was yell at the guests, the bride and got into people's business. I'm not lying when I say that I've never met such a control freak in my life. She literally pushed the bride & groom to dance, she forcefully stopped the speeches because "they were getting too long". We got to the ceremony 10 minutes late and she would not let us in. She would not let the bride's sister say goodbye to the bride at the end at the private room before she took off! And it goes on and on and on. I would like to say that it was just me but at the end, everybody was talking about the "wedding nazi". That's too bad because everything else was nice. read more

I attended a Christmas party for my husband's work last year and it was lovely. Their food was excellent and all the servers were friendly. I think they had reserved the entire building because the upstairs and downstairs were set up for guests. There's supposed to be a dance area in the second floor but it didn't look very big. But that might have been because there were so many people upstairs. I didn't encounter the owner so I have no idea how much of a control freak she was but she didn't seem to interfere with our function at all. There is lots of parking available but it's in a lot across the street but the street isn't super busy. It's in a part of town considered "sketchy" to a lot of people but it felt pretty safe there. I would consider holding a function here should I ever need to. read more

JHS Class of 69, celebrated our 50th reunion at Osborne's the food for the best, the decorations was just what we ask for. Had my 50th birthday party at Osborns. The entire experience was great. The food was delicious. Beef tenderloin, grilled shrimp and the grilled vegetables were my favorites but there was several other dishes as well. The facility was big enough to accommodate everyone with ease. The venue is tastefully decorated so there was very little decorations needed. Ms Donna, one of the owners, was very helpful, and made the experience a great one. Night of the party was worry free and I could enjoy it and focus on my guest. read more

Wow! I attended a wedding here and the owner was an awful, awful woman. She was mean to absolutely everyone. While the food was good, I would NEVER recommend anyone throw a wedding here. She will be mean to you, mean to your wedding party, and mean to your guests. Do not do it! Seriously! I am not exaggerating! People who never complain about anything complained about her. This is one of the BEST venues I have been too. I was an Events Manager for a wedding their on 8/27/16. The place is absolutely beautiful...I read previous reviews about the sister who everyone has a problem with...her name is Terry and being a coordinator I agree she may be rough around the edges when it comes to being vocal...but her views and attitude can be justified, she's a perfectionist and wants everything to run smoothly. The other two sisters are friendlier and down to earth but put them all together and they are an awesome team. I will use them again. The food was impeccable and tasty. While Osbornes' food is always very good, and many of the wait staff are friendly, I have to say that the owner, Terrie, is a nightmare to work with. My parents hired her as a caterer for my brother's wedding this June, which we held at our family home. Both the day before and day of the event, Terrie was extremely rude to both family and guests alike. She barked orders at us in our own home, had a bad attitude the entire time, yelled at the bride's family and tried to tell my mother how to run the wedding. Mind you, Terrie was NOT hired to be the wedding planner. She was the caterer. She criticized my mother's decisions and disregarded specific instructions about where to park her vehicle...she even had her staff CHANGE CLOTHES IN MY PARENT'S BEDROOM without permission. She was snappy and mean to guests for basically no reason. She also under-delivered on some of the food that we ordered, and charged about $400 more for the bar-tending services than she quoted. She bullied my parents into using her staff as bartenders, and then added an automatic 25% gratuity to the bar bill. I have NEVER heard of an included gratuity being so high. She then proceeded to tell me that she would be happy to cater my wedding, but not if I had it in June, because she didn't want to deal with the hot/humid weather (as if no one has ever gotten married in June before). No need to worry, Terrie. I can promise you won't be there. read more

Osborne's have been our place to have our Christmas Parties for Doctors and Staff for 15+ years now. There is no other place we would rather be. The atmosphere is wonderful, we are always greeted with smiles, it is beautifully decorated, the food is excellent and the staff and owners are the best! The owner has never interfered in our parties except making sure everything was to our liking. Food was always plentiful and delicious. I would not want to go anywhere else for our parties. Plenty of parking and numerous options for the menu. It makes me feel good when the owner's main concern is how we like everything. She wants everything to be perfect as perfect can be for their guests. Everything is ALWAYS perfect for us. I would recommend Osborne's for any function. read more

Hi. My name is Jade and I have been a cake designer for about 5 years now. I have worked all over South and North Carolina and with many wedding planners/coordinators and vendors. I love this industry ... there is nothing more satisfying than working for such sweet couples on one of the biggest moments of their life together! I have very few bad experiences ... one just happened to be this past weekend and I want to share it not only with other brides considering Osborne's facility, but also as a warning to vendors who may have to work with them in the future. I arrived to set up my couple's wedding cake around noon, which was the time the owner/wedding coordinator asked me to arrive, and the door was locked. So, I rang the door bell and waited several minutes with no acknowledgment. I then noticed an outside stair case up to the second floor and decided to try that door. When the owner answered, she rudely said, "You know, there is this little thing called a door bell!" at which I replied "I rang it and no one came." She then looked right at me like I was an lying imbecile. I bit my lip, not wanting to blow something so silly out of proportion. I then began to set up the cake on a family heirloom stand the bride requested I use for the cake. The owner then decided she didn't like that stand and demanded I use one of her's ... I was so stunned at the tone she was using with me, I didn't even know what to say! A little while later, she walks over and looks at the cake (not finished yet, mind you) and screams, "WE HAVE A LEANING CAKE!!!" for the entire room to hear. I told her that it was not yet complete and I would certainly fix any problems, if any. After she walked away, the sweet florist walked over (probably because she saw that I was about to loose my cool with the owner) and said she didn't see any problems with the cake or it's stability. I stacked the rest of the cake, which came out as straight up and down as can be! As I'm finishing up and taking pictures of the completed 6 tier cake, the mother of the bride walks over and is just overly happy with how the cake had turned out. As she compliments my work, the owner walks over and starts nick-picking every little detail of the cake. IN FRONT OF MY CLIENT - the woman who paid for the cake! Let me explain - my wonderful clients requested buttercream rather than fondant to cover their cake. Now, I can get that buttercream almost as smooth and perfect as fondant, but it will never be 100% smooth like a fondant finish. So, I felt like she waited until that very moment to say something just to be mean. She could have waited until the my client walked away ... or pulled me off to the side if she had a problem, but she didn't do that. After being there for 2 hours setting up a cake that not only my clients loved, but that I was incredible proud of, she just tore it to pieces! If I wasn't a lady, I would have had a word with her - but it probably would have gone in one ear and out the other. I honestly don't think she cares how she treats people, clients, their family and friends nor the vendors who works so amazingly hard for their day! I completely understand it is her job to make sure the bride has her perfect day. As I said before, I have worked with dozens of different wedding planners and totally get why they are there and appreciate how detail oriented they are. With that said, though, there is no reason on this earth to be rude, pretentious, obnoxious or just plain mean in order to get the job done. On top of all of my issues with her, she was also VERY rude and harsh with her employees. I am guessing they were either family members or just needed a job so bad, they would put up with anything ... I am shocked that she not only has employees, but that she has any business at all. The facility is a gorgeous setting for any event, so that has to be their niche because it's certainly not warm and caring customer service! I will personally not ever work with that woman again. It's absolutely not worth the stress she puts on outside vendors! I hope this helps all of you Florence brides and vendors out there! read more

My friend got married there and I was one of her bridesmaids. It was soo stressful and it wans't even my wedding! I cannot believe she paid $3,000 for Terry to just control the whole thing and yell at everyone! The bride was constantly stressed out and upset because of that woman and she should have been enjoying every minute of it. That woman was soo incredibly rude it left me with my mouth hanging wide open all the time. She told the bride that she didn't like a part of her centerpieces so she could not use them... then they offered a solution and she told the bride no again because she didn't like the idea.. Um when did this become her wedding? I swear I have never met someone so rude and controlling and she is supposed to be in the bridal business??? You do not treat a bride that way! Some of the family was running late the day of the ceremony and that woman came up and said okay it is ten minutes until the wedding so we need to get in position.... it was actually 25 minutes before the wedding. I'm not sure if she just wanted it over with or what but I said actually its not and she proceeded to argue with me so I pulled out my phone and showed her... I mean some of the family hadn't even arrived yet so why was she rushing so bad. So the bride asked if the could start at 6:10 instead of 6:00 so any late family could get to their seats and she flat out told the bride "no I will not have you walking down at 6:10!" What was the big deal?? It was ten minutes later and she only gets one day so why can't she just enjoy it and have a stress free time... She wouldn't let us do anything.. She was constantly yelling at everyone.. Even some of the parents and grandparents. It was just insane... I couldn't believe it. We were setting out the centerpieces (the ones she actually approved of) and I had two jars in my hand because I was making my way over to the tables and she told me I coulndn't have both in my hands and that I could only do one at a time... I mean whats the big deal? I'm a grown woman and I for some reason can't handle carrying two jars? Oh and she said once we set the centerpiece down that we couldn't move it.... and yelled at us when we moved a couple of small things around. Oh and here is what really gets me... Someone set their cell phone on one of the tables and she told them they need to move it because it would ruin the table and she would have to reset it all over again. Really????? She also snapped at guests on numerous occasions.. She told some of the guests that they needed to move their purses under the table because it didn't look good beside their feet.. WHO CARES??? I would never reccomend that place. Its not even in a great location it is in the middle of down town florence between the college campus, the dentist, and jimmy jonhs.. so that is all you see when you have to park because there is no set parking.. you park across the street in the jimmy johns parking lot. I felt so bad for the bride at times because she wasted her money at this place when she could have spent it somewhere that she could enjoy it. DO NOT GET MARRIED HERE! It is not worth the money or strees believe me! There are much better places that cost a whole lot less and you don't get a controlling, rude lady with them. read more
