I'd like to give them a 5 star review, but the front office staff are unfriendly, never smile and…read morejust rude. Not sure if they are the ones who anser the phone as well but they truly need some training and follow through is sporatic, and not at all helpful. It's pretty sad that the first contact you have are with these unfriendly faces. Some of the policies, I will assume that Dr Farr knows of, make no sense. Making an appointment is not fun - you get sent a text message and "request" an appointment. After several days, you still need to call the office, if you can get anyone to answer the phone to make the appointment. Send an email - no response. Communication is not very good. The care providers however are great, listen to concerns and spend more than a few minutes with you.

This MD (Dr Andrew Farr) nonetheless, decided not to even do anything. I got an appointment on my own to see a GI, which with all the testing found I had things that needed to be addressed asap. The results were sent to this doctor (3 times) to make sure he had a copy but kept getting asked by Andrew Farr, what I wanted done? I was seen by a surgeon but I needed to have clearance. Dr. Andrew Farr refused to even see me or send me to anyone to get cleared, I relied on the GI to send me to other doctors. I was supposed cleared from a cardiologist but the endocrinologist knows exactly what's going on and said he didn't clear me and wanted Dr Andrew Farr to put me on and keep me on disability until further notice from him. Andrew Farr refused. I'm telling you guys right now, that supposed doctor doesn't care of patients, more so of female ones. My husband was at 2 of my pcp appointments and he would talk toward and to my husband instead of me the patient. Up to date: he refuses to keep me on disability until further notice now (because he doesn't like the work) so I was kicked out of his office when I bluntly asked him why does he respect male patients more so than female patients? He took it offensively and kicked me out. I turned him into the medical board because he left me in the middle of a practice and by law he is not to do so to a patient. He doesn't like the hard work that comes with being an MD so he doesn't belong in Family Medicine.

My family and I have been treated by this group for over 30 years. Everyone here is very…read moreprofessional. We especially appreciate Deanna Salyards and Dr. Kubo our two favorites. This is a medical office so let's be realistic. It is called practicing medicine. I get the impression from a few of these comments that some people have unrealistic expectations about people that practice medicine. Just realize that some illnesses are simple to diagnose and others are much more difficult. So if your medical professional doesn't hit the nail on the head on the first swing, go back and let them take another try. Each time they see you they are accumulating more information about your healthcare that will help them help you. Eat right, exercise and get plenty of rest. With any luck at all, you won't spend much time at a doctor's office.

They do not answer the phone and the "system" puts you on hold for totally unreasonable amounts of time. I am writing this on a Tuesday and I have spent almost two hours on hold since last Friday. They can and should do better. Sorry, unprofessional service. No one has time to wait 45 minutes on hold. We are working, earning money to pay for health insurance and co-pays.

In my third visit with her, today, I had to literally walk out and won't be back! I asked other staff if she was just having a bad day. So consistently condescending but today she was actually rude. I asked about side effects of a particular drug she stated no one had ever complained to her before and dismissed my question. Then when I asked her to clarify something she got irritated with me and started with more condescension. If you don't agree with her she will belittle you into thinking you're the one that's wrong rather than explaining like most doctors! No thanks! Update: 04/15/26 - I spoke with Dr Gilli on the phone and it's seems they are somewhat flippant and unapologetic in their attitude towards the situation. I don't feel comfortable with this response that she "always" treats patients with respect after I conveyed the opposite in a professional manner over the phone. This was damage control gone wrong imo. Black box warnings are serious and it's too bad this Dr. doesn't care to make any changes as she is a 25 year employees with the company. He's got her back regardless. I appreciate the call back but it's clear his attitude is just like hers. They don't care.

This is one of the best doctor's offices I've been to in Bakersfield since leaving Kaiser…read morePermanente. The care I've received here is on par with what I experienced at Kaiser during my previous seven years. In just one year's time, I've come to believe that Dr. Kubo and his staff truly care for their patients. I plan to stay at this office as long as possible. My Journey: When I first arrived at the office, I was kindly greeted by staff and later greeted by the P.A (I will not name as he is no longer there as of December ) He asked me a plethora of questions to understand my needs before making any suggestions. After I answered, he explained that he would order some blood tests and do a couple of checks to ensure my numbers were where they should be. He instructed me to complete the lab work and scheduled a follow-up appointment in two weeks. At the follow-up visit, The P.A. asked how I wanted to approach certain situations. I told him I preferred to go as natural as possible, and he was able to help me manage a few issues without prescribing unnecessary medication. Over the following months, I used the prescribed medication as directed and returned for a six‑month follow‑up. When that time came, I completed another round of lab work and met with him again two weeks later. He informed me that my numbers had improved to healthy levels and encouraged me to continue the same regimen. It just tells me that to this particular PA It is more about the patient than it is about prescribing medicine. Based on my experience with him. It's my opinion. You will make a great doctor I hope the remaining care I receive at this office matches or excels it. They only get 4 not 5 because the P.A. is no longer thereI will keep you posted.
