I have heard about Park Burger from countless people so had to check it out. I just happened to be in the Highlands area so everything seemed to be aligning up well. My immediate impression of the place was "wow it is really hot in here". I visited on a day where it was 97 degrees outside and was looking forward to dining in the comfort of AC. It looked like the AC was somewhat running but maybe on a low setting which made it very hot in there. I got the birria burger as I am a huge fan of birria tacos. If birria tacos are good, birria burgers should be as well, right? Well, the birria was virtually tasteless. I mostly just tasted salt and not much else. I think the burger coming out with a side of birria like they do at taco spots would have made things better. The fries were decent. We came to visit during Oktoberfest and were really impressed! The servers were excellent and I loved the interior, which was way bigger than it looked from the outside! We had the Getting Figgy with it and the Birria burger. Both were excellent, but the Figgy burger was SO interesting. Loved the combination of savory and sweet with the fig jam. The large sweet potato fries were huge, and perfectly cooked, although they really needed salt. Came in to grab lunch and was told they only honor their $13 lunch special for dine in customers only (weird???) so I ordered what came in that and paid about double. We prefer to time our visits with the HH, which starts at 2pm, has a $7 Park Burger (no fries or drink), $7 The Works fries (freaking unhealthy, awesome, and delicious), and $1 off drafts (a Tivoli is $4.50 during this time). The staff is incredible, and very efficient. Mild, laid back atmosphere when we have been there, with a smallish cool bar with limited seating. Decent selection of drafts and bottles. I arrived at 4pm during happy hour which is 2pm-5pm weekdays. I was the only customer. I was greeted by two employees. A few people walked in to pickup takeout while eating. I got a 12oz draft of Dry Dock Brewing Apricot Blonde ale for $1 off for happy hour. A refreshing drink. My burger for National Cheeseburger Day was the Bleu Royale with 1/3 lb patty, caramelized onions, bacon, lettuce, tomato with a generous amount of blue cheese crumbles. I added a small order of Cajun fries. Just the right spice level. I tipped 22%. I was served by Adi L. She was nice and quick. My beer came first, then the fries. There were a few families, couples, and groups of friends eating. We ordered the Fig burger, Oreo milkshake, sliders, and split basket of sweet potato and truffle fries. They are very generous with the large basket of fries and great taste. The milkshake taste like any regular milkshake and the fig burger had great, juicy flavor with just enough fig jam to not overpower the cheese, bacon, and arugula. We thought the meat patties on the sliders were too small (a little larger than a quarter) though that may have just been our batch. Overall, I'd recommend this spot for a casual meal. Lean towards ordering the full burgers instead of the sliders and definitely try the fries. Tip: you can ask for a split basket of fries with any combination of the fries. Cookies & Cream Milkshake was average. Truffle-Parmesan fries were yummy. Sweet potato fries were my favorite of the meal. They were very crisp--almost like they had been fried twice! Service 3.5/5 Our server was very friendly although the place seemed understaffed. There was one server for the inside seating (6-7 tables) and they had difficulty keeping up with all the tables. The table near us waited a long time to order and we waited a while for refills of water. The server did acknowledge it and apologize tho. Again, they were very friendly, just understaffed. Street parking in front of the place is limited but there is free parking in the neighborhood nearby. I like pretty simple burgers myself and I like that here they don't go overboard with toppings. I am not a fan of burgers you can't simply bite into. They have very few beers on tap and the sides look good too, the sweet potato fries were fresh and crispy.
