Passed by this bakery so many times whenever my friends and I went fishing at IBSP. Finally, got a chance to check out this bakery. If you see a place with a line, you know that a place has to be good and Park Bakery was worth waiting in line for. ***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** There weren't that many recent reviews and pictures, so my friend and I walked in a bit clueless. Once the line moved quickly and we were inside, we ended up being clueless and overwhelmed because the line moved so fast and there were so many people that we couldn't really see everything in the display case. We just had to make a split-second decision based on what we read in the reviews and what we could see. The person helping was super sweet, super helpful and super nice! She was very helpful when we asked what were popular. And, everything she recommended and we got was super good! - Pecan ring - Honey roll - Glazed Swirl (I think?) - Blueberry Danish - Famous crumb cake Their coffee area is cute but didn't have any nor did I get a chance to take a picture. You should definitely check it out! This definitely seems like the local's favorite bakery and I could see why. Another hidden gem in NJ! Next time I go, I definitely want to try their sandwiches, donuts, and Linzer cookies. But will definitely do more research beforehand. Some people feel that the start of summer is represented by their first beach day, not me my summer starts as soon as Park Bakery opens for the season! Yipppee cause my Park crumb cake that I froze last September is all gone. As much as I try to make it last till they reopen, it never makes it. The best crumb cake and donuts around. These rolls with weck are not to be missed. Try them with a nice rare beef and some mayo, thank me later..beef on weck was never better than on these rolls. I think this loaf is chocolate babka maybe I don't know the hubs bought it but it looks amazing! read more

This place was cute! It gives beachy vibes for sure and is a small town place on the inside. It's definitely old school and it's clearly a local favorite. It's very small inside and it always seemed crowded, which was promising. The wait time was pretty long, so maybe call ahead if you want to skip the line. People kept saying such good things about this place, and maybe I ordered the wrong things, but I just thought it was OK. Like, good, solid pastries. But nothing out of the ordinary. I wasn't blown away. We ordered a whole bunch of stuff like crumb cake (I think?, or something like that), cannolis, cream puffs, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. The cannolis and cream puffs were good. I wasn't mad about those. Those were the best things I had. I didn't love the cake I had. It looked and smelled good, but it seemed kind of dry. Maybe it's just me since everyone was ravign about it. We got some everything bagels to go and were hoping they'd be good since they were coming from a NJ bakery, but they were strange. The bagels themselves were good, but there was this weird seasoning that didn't belong and overpowered the whole bagel. There wasn't enough garlic and onion on them. I got a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. I didn't love it, to be honest. It was super greasy and the bacon was mostly fat. We have been coming to this family owned bakery for over 25 years since we live in Seaside park in the summer. The traditional items rolls, buns, pecan rings, cookies are excellent. Great go to bakery when in the area, I highly recommend it. Bakery runs several raffles and entertainment events for locals and regulars each year that are a lot of fun. Often there are long lines on weekends but the line moves quickly and well worth the wait. The talking moose is legendary!!! What is smarter than a talking Moose??? ..... a spelling bee. Owners might want to consider having 2 or 3 registers, a wider front door or a pick up window or line. We highly recommend you try this great bakery! read more

I took a drive down here on a Saturday morning from Lavallette. There is a pretty good local bakery but I figured I'd try something new. There were a few people in line and at least 5 girls working and moving things along very quickly, kudos to them. I got 2 boston creme, 1 glazed apple fritter and 1 glazed cinnamon roll. I ate the donuts and they were pretty good, nothing amazing, but also kinda small. The cinnamon roll was huge and my family said it was good but not great. My girlfriend loved the apple fritter saying it had real bits of apple in it which she enjoyed. The total for those 4 items was $8.50 which seemed a bit high but I don't know the individual prices to say which may be good for the price or not. Donuts that size should run $1-1.50 and the fritter the same which would have made the cinnamon roll around $4 which is steep for what it was in my opinion. I just wasn't overly impressed and wouldn't pay $8.50 for what I got again but might grab one thing if I'm down in the area again. I think a more fair rating is 3.5 stars. read more

We've been staying in Seaside Park for years, and the Park Bakery is a staple - one, because it's the only gig in town and two, because there are some decent baked goods here. You'll notice I only gave Park Bakery 3 Stars. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid 3 start review. However, over the past 20 years, I've come to understand that some things are better than others at Park Bakery. For the record, you CAN get some delicious treats at Park Bakery, but you need to know which items to buy. Their donuts, crumb cake, elephant ears, apple fritters, and powdered soft rolls (I don't know the real name for them) are all delicious, and items we buy regularly. Unanimously, our favorite item in the family is the pecan ring. Park Bakery also offers cookies, cupcakes, and full cakes, but they are not as good as their pastries. In my opinion, the turnover for the cakes and cookies may be slower than other items. Therefore, these cookies and cakes don't taste as fresh as they can be. In fact, we ordered my parents an anniversary cake two years in a row (same cake - dark chocolate with vanilla buttercream) and the cake has a acrid, mildewy taste both times. It was almost as if the cake was sitting there for a few days, and the buttercream between the layers began to mold. During COVID, the service has become a lot more organized. Pre-covid, the high school and college kids that are serving descend this place into chaos. On another note, the owner of this place is a great person and the bakery always tries to do something nice for holidays. For example, they will give out 'goodie bags' for mother's day, or hold themed events (pre-covid) for free for their customers. So don't let my honesty deter you from patronizing this business. You have to know what to order here. Park Bakery DOES do certain things well, and I think Yelp is a great place for the business to see how they can improve on things. read more

I went in today, ordered 10 sandwiches and some donuts. Paid for my entire order only to get home and realize they had forgotten to put to put in 6 sandwiches and messed up 2 of the ones I was given. I called the bakery and the girl who answered the phone and the manager were actually pretty rude from the start of the phone call before I even truly got to explain what was even wrong. Accused me of lying and trying to scam them, very unprofessional. Would not recommend coming here and waiting in an hour long line for this food and service. read more

I ordered a cake for my sisters graduation and was very impressed. The cake was absolutely delicious. It had a very nice presentation and actually contain fresh fruit. Every other time I've ordered a cake it usually comes with some sort of preservative as the center but this cake actually had fresh strawberries. The frosting was light and not overwhelming. Park Bakery is the go to place if in the Seaside Park area to get your morning and pastry fix! I have been coming to this bakery for years and the service and pastries only get better with time. It is family oriented and is a local homegrown bakery which gives off a nice feeling when you walk inside. Park Bakery always has a line that goes out the door (literally). Please do not let this stop you from coming. Once inside you'll find it to be similar to an experience on the NY Stock exchange. The workers are always yelling with a smile on "Can I help someone?!" Every time I've gone no matter how chaotic or early it is the workers always have a delightful smile on their face. Get a box of goodies and go to town! This bakery makes everything fresh daily and with so many options it's no wonder why I always leave here with more than I can eat. There is something for everyone at Park Bakery whether it be a breakfast sandwich, bagel, cookies, muffins, donuts, you name it. Some of my favorites are: glazed donuts, crumb cakes (traditional and with a cream glaze), and the cinnamon roll. I would like to see them maybe increase their beverage supply just a bit. They serve the traditional coffee but not many other options for juice. I'm not from around these parts, but I'm used to paying at least $5 for a loaf of semi-fresh bread from the grocery bakery. A full loaf here costs around $4.50. I had heard great things. A few weeks ago, I decided to call in an order for donuts. I was happy with how they did their curbside pickup but I didn't like what I saw when I opened my donuts at home. The Boston cream donuts were ruined. The young employees put wax paper on top of the chocolate icing in 95 degrees weather. The donuts were decent but kind of unremarkable. I will return to give it another chance. I just hope that they start training the employees not to put wax paper on top of donuts in hot weather. read more

My two favorite pastries are crumb cake and lindsor tarts. The crumb cake is the best I've ever had. The lindsor tart takes second place to Noble coffee roasters in Goshen ny. Been wanting to try this place for a long time! Glad I finally did during an overnight stay in Seaside Park. I arrived at 730a on a Monday morning. I happened to be the only one there when I walked in, but on my way out there was a line of about 6 people. There were quite a few girls behind the counter who moved very quickly once other people starting coming in, so I believe it when people say the line moves fast. I picked up two crumb cakes (one iced and one regular), an iced cinnamon roll, pecan roll, and a white cream filled doughnut. I thought the crumb cakes were okay. I agree with the other reviewer who said that they wish the cake portion was richer. The pecan roll was doughy. I love pecan rolls but this one definitely tasted slightly underdone. The white cream filled doughnut was also doughy. I like doughnuts that have that fresh "fried" light crispy texture on the outside, and a soft inside. This didn't have that. Instead it was soft and pillowy throughout. I don't think I've ever had a doughnut like this before. If that's how you like your doughnuts, this one is for you. Also, FYI the creme filling is marshmallow fluff. I kind of wish I had known this. My favorite from the bunch was the iced cinnamon roll. It was fantastic, until I got to the middle of it which was underdone. I know Cinnamon rolls are softer in the middle but this was more like raw dough. Maybe I went on an off day? I'm not sure. That being said, if you are in the area and have some time, this place is worth a try. I would come back again and try more stuff. The place itself is super cute and it sort of transports you to a simpler time which is why I'm glad I went. Their pastries are either hit or miss. Price point is definitely reasonable. My order was about $7.50. The girl also told me that they accept credit cards. I'm not sure what the minimum is though.
