Sweet and white wines

The main reason I went to this winery is because it was located half-way between Memphis and Nashville and I was meeting up with high school friends that I had not seen in almost 20 years and they lived in Nashville while I'm based out of Memphis. Signage and directions to the Vineyard was great and it was a lovely sloping circular one-way drive that took you past their grapes before you reached the lower parking lot and then saw an Italianate style building that totally would remind you of being in Tuscany rather than middle Tennessee! The tasting is limited to 6 wines (but our server sneaked in a couple more, which was awesome of her). I loved the varietals they had - great mix of fruit, semi-sweet and some robust and big reds as well. From the tasting menu, I enjoyed the Blackberry, the Muscadine (like drinking liquid honey mixed with brandy) and the Merlot (reserve). Each flavor was unique and really pleasing to my palate. Surprisingly enough, I wasn't a fan of their Tower Red, which is their signature wine - I wanted to like it, but it was just too sweet for me. The staff on the tasting room were super friendly and knew their stuff - I also liked that 90% of the grapes were estate grown and they only bought in 10% from other parts of the US. My group was also invited to take a glass and then wander thru the vine saplings and we could also taste the different grape varieties if we wanted to! The restaurant on site was closed for the season, but it's menu looked good and I was impressed by the wines, so I really wouldn't mind coming back here again, despite the 2.5hr drive from Memphis! Note: #309 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016

First off, I have to say this place is one of a kind. It was the most beautiful winery that I have ever seen. And trust me, I'm a wino. In more ways than one. =) After sampling wines, I didn't find one that I didn't really like. I'm not a sweet wine person but I ended up with some in the Eiffel Tower wine bottle. Just because it was just that cool of a bottle. Old Muscadine I took several bottles of this home. It was a distinct flavor that isn't like any Mid-West wine. Almost taste like your eating those Catabwa grapes we have in Missouri. Yet still different. Muscadine grapes are something grown in the "deep south" and I now long to buy even more bottles. Their Reserve Cabernet was my second favorite. For the price I just couldn't buckle down and pay that when I can get my favorite Napa for the same price. We ended up with 7 bottles of wine and the people here was so friendly. If we lived close I could see me being a regular!

Fun, unique experience for horse lovers…read more Overall great, but this is a review so I'll start with the good, then get to the "could be better." 1) It's beautifully set up. The barn is clean, pretty, and has special spots for pictures and retail. Music is going and the videos are being played on the tv above the tasting station. 2) locally & woman owned business! Nuff said. 3) greeted by an 8 week old puppy during our visit, which was very fun, more entertaining than the horses IMO. 4) The owner takes the time to learn about what she's giving you to taste and drink, which is nice! 5) Great picture taking opportunities! 6) we had to reschedule because of a family emergency of one of the party members, and the owner was incredibly easy to work with to make sure we could still attend without losing any money or the experience. Customer service was great. Could make a better experience: Price - $60 seemed fair for something unique but then you add on the fees/taxes and it's $74.25 per person, not sure where that additional ~$15 goes but I'd be much more inclined to return if there's a way to pay without the additional fees. (Also, website descriptions say $55 then the price is $60 - fix to match increase.) We definitely thought there would be more to do with the horses. Even if customers can't do something, maybe show off any tricks or special things the horses to make it more about the Equine than the Wine! Overall, if you love horses and are looking for something different to do in Nashville, this is it! M2 has different options between brunch, bourbon, wine, and even olive oil tastings on a beautiful piece of land in Goodlettsville.

Merle, Wyatt and Hank (horses) were our hosts, along with Laura and Maddison. Whiskey sampling, charcuterie, wine and champagne tasting; all with a kick-back, no pressure atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Visited the Natchez Hills tasting room in the Nashville Farmers Market in the heart of Germantown…read moreand it was a great experience. The staff first off was spectacular. We started with a wine flight and took their recommendations on a variety of varietals. The Vin Lamar a Sparkling Chardonnay was my favorite. We paired this with a charcuterie board complete with bread, Prosciutto, Gouda and Brie cheese, grapes, strawberries and honey. Near by was some great live music inside (mostly country). The tasting room also provides to go drinks for guests to walk around the rest of the farmers market. As well as a wine slushy option. Lots of parking on all sides of the building although it does get busy on the weekends.

We went to Natchez Hills at the market for a day date on Sunday and had such a wonderful experience…read morethat we joined the wine club! We'd never had Natchez Hills wine before so we started with two flights. Mine had three whites and a red, and my boyfriend's had two whites, a red, and a rose. We also ordered a large charcuterie board, and it was absolutely delicious - there was a hard and soft cheese, different meats, fruit, and bread. I also tried a red wine slushie and really enjoyed it. The selling point for us was that it was such a positive environment. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The winery is next to live music, which added a really fun element. We've visited other wineries in the Nashville area and found the pricing here to be super reasonable. The Farmer's Market parking lot can get full depending on the time of day, but there's additional parking as you go toward the Sounds Stadium.
