This store and the entire town is a step back in time. Called "TN's Mayberry" it's easy to see why with this store filled with old time candy, trinkets, souvenirs and even a small grill with food service and tables for eating that run in the middle. Tickets can be bought to tour the town's museums which are actually original town buildings converted to draw income to keep the town and its buildings afloat. Within "museums", like the bank, are clothing stores, bakeries, quilting supplies, etc. This general store is filled with a variety of items and is reminiscent of days gone by. A unique and lovely piece of history. Do visit and help the town continue its mission of preserving the past well Into the present. The cutest of little towns.

Y'all....this is the cutest town around! Its theme is the Mayberry town in Tennessee. It was so fun to see all the decor and museums they have put together there. For $5 you can visit all the sites, take tours, pictures and just enjoy the history. You'll see lots of Andy and Barney and even some Lucy Ricardo. We had sandwiches and soup for lunch in the general store. They have live bluegrass there every Saturday night. You can have dinner and listen to the show. It truly feels like you're not in a real town!

Dinner and Bluegrass music every Saturday night!

Granville was like nowhere I've ever been. The whole town is made up of individual museums which all require a walking tour ticket. Cute and quaint with the general store as the center, themed as a Mayberry town.

Just a stone's throw from the banks of the Cumberland River stands the T. B. Sutton General Store. Built in 1800's, it continuously served the families of the Granville, Tennessee area until the 1970's. The two story building's unique style features a balcony with many of the products the store offered for sale during its 90 years of service. The original building has much of the same interior fixtures it had at the turn of the 20th century. The store contains a dining room offering family style dining for groups of 40 by reservation. Furnishings and memorabilia are on display; very unique gifts and merchandise are for sale. Walking back in time will be fun, interesting and educational. T.B. Sutton General Store is now open Wednesday - Friday from 10:00 - 3:00 and Saturday from 10:00 - 8:00. Each Saturday you can join us for a family-style dinner and a live radio-broadcast bluegrass music performance. Yesterday I decided to check something else off my bucket list and set off to buy a mandolin. After doing a fair amount of research, I ended up at Mountain Music. (I live in Nashville now but did not feel like any of the shops around there would be welcoming of a newbie like myself, as most of their mando's started in figures that were WAY out of my budget). There I met Matt who took me aside and showed me every mandolin they had, even played each of them to let me hear the differences. We talked about body styles and strings. He hooked me up with a great deal on everything I needed to get me started, re-stringed and tuned my new instrument, and gave me recommendations on picks, tuners, etc. Which was great because I'm brand new to stringed instruments! All in all, these guys know how to bring in a beginner player like myself and keep me as a repeat customer. They have a fantastic return policy so even if I decide to go bigger and better, they'll accommodate! I definitely recommend checking these guys out.

I had brought a set of tuner pegs to fix the guitar before I left but I, of course, did not buy the right ones. The friendly staff went over and above what I have come to expect from most retail stores, and in fact is what has prompted this review. There's some beautiful guitars that I made myself avoid, lest I have to ship it home. Do yourself a favor and stop in and check them out. Mom and Pop music shops are nowhere near as common out in my part of California. It's basically nothing but Guitar Centers out there. Do not let that happen in my home state please!
