Wanted to go here for a looooong time but because they are only open 3 days a week and can seat fewer than 20 people...so I had to wait a while. Let's just say I was vastly underwhelmed. The atmosphere was like a storage room in a cave for random dry goods. The "floor" was uneven and hazardous especially in the bathrooms. The stone, brick, beams are all exposed (hipsters and the bourgeoise love this, lol), the ceiling is tres low and stifling, the lighting is super dim. It is so cramped and small that you are seated maybe 1ft away from the next table. The waitress squeezes between your tables to take orders and you end up with her butt touching your utensils and dish, mon dieu. Prices are very high and portions are mid. I was so disappointed there was not one duck dish on the whole menu! I ended up just going with the shortrib (also not on the menu but specials) and it was super mid. The veggies were boiled and completely bland. The sauce included was starchy, basic and bland. The shortrib was admittedly tender and well cooked but where the heck is the flavor?! I've spent 7 days in France and every dish I've had there was very flavorful! This does not compare. The blue cheese cognac butter from the bread smelled really bad but was okay. Why not choose a less divisive, maggoty type of cheese for a flavor? Honey pear butter or champagne butter would've been so much more exciting and better to pair with the rough bread. We had reservations but things still took a while. Bathrooms were cute but I almost slipped because of the jagged, uneven 17th century like floors. My BF loved this place, vibe and food so good for him, I guess, haha. To me, it did not live up to fine dining standards and the taste of the food could not elevate it. read more

My husband and I dined here not long ago. The atmosphere definitely had a European feel and was super intimate and romantic. Cocktails were very good and the food was a mixed bag. My husband and I loved the bread with bleu cheese butter, and the French onion soup was the best we've ever ordered! It was so good that it didn't even need the gobs of cheese that usually come in the dish. My crepes and his pot pie were just okay overall. Neither dish was super flavorful. Marvelous! What a joy! I nice treat! They have specials. Before I tried the special I had escargot. It was cooked very traditionally. Cooked well. The star tho was the wild boar sausage special. Nicely cooked and served with a most wonderful sauce. It was light and a perfect match. Oh my...so good! The mashed potatoes were light and creamy. The veggies consisted of a perfectly cooked carrot and severely undercooked green beans, that did not have flavor. That would be my only complaint. Great service. Good drinks. Fabulous atmosphere! We came here for Mother's Day brunch earlier this year and had an excellent time. The Paris Room is a cool little gem tucked away in Chagrin Falls. The entrance is accessible from the parking lot (think the other side of the building - not the main drag of Downtown Chagrin Falls). We had a nice time albeit a few parts of our meal were a little off. For the expensive price of the multi-course Mother's Day meal, parts of the meal could have been elevated. The simple salad was lettuce on a plate. The entrees had raw (maybe slightly sauteed) plain veggies and plain rice. While everything was colorful, it was a lot of plain food. I prefer seasoning, sauce or a bit more flavor. The highlight of the meal was really the tea service and dessert. This was done well and next time we'd come back specifically for dessert! We loved the beautiful tea set-up and the delicious selection of dessert. At the end of the meal, they gave all the mothers a yellow rose, which was a nice touch! If you can, sit on the seasonal patio, as the inside doesn't have many windows and can lend itself to be dark. What a cute place. It is small so I highly recommend reservations. We were told the building use to be used for carpet storage. The restaurant has a great vibe, dark and romantic. It is kinda hidden and you enter from the back parking lot. But the service is great and the food was wonderful. I had the pork chop and it was wonderful. Hidden Gem: tucked away next to the falls. You can almost drive past it and not realize, but you'd be missing out. Cozy and romantic are just a couple of words to describe this unique experience. The place has very limited seating due to its size so I'd highly recommend reserving a table ahead of time. The tables are crammed together, so you might be a bit intrusive to the table next to you. Service was a bit lacking, but I feel like the other staff members tried to help one another. We ordered the pictured items. I had the sole stuffed with crab. It was delightful! The sea was moist and the caper lemon sauce gave the whole dish the right amount of decadence it needed. The veggies still had its crunch allowing the plate to have good texture. My husband had the "pot pie". He seemed to like it a lot but I was not a fan of the amount of salt. Like true French cuisine, it was loaded with butter and that mixed with the puff pastry help saved the dish from being overly salty. This is just a personal preference though. The mixologist definitely did a great job with our drinks. The "new Manhattan" was particularly good. I'm not a bourbon drinker, so the fact that I'm saying it was good has to mean something for those who have similar taste buds. Not pictured is liver pate. We've been wanting to go to Paris Room for quite some time, but just never have. Tonight was the most perfect experience. Definitely make a reservation online! We loved sitting outside in the tent - the space is so welcoming and the little details from the live music, bread plates, flowers and wine glasses made dining even more fun! From the minute we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile by each team member and the service throughout our meal was incredible. Paris Room is a lovely and pretty space, with great food, and amazing and really caring service. The cocktail options are several and creative, we had the (wonderful) espresso martini and one of the three (!) old fashioned options. As appetizers the escargots and the crab dip were both really good, then the beef short rib and the pork chop were equally perfectly cooked and paired with cooked fresh vegetables. Entrees come with a delicious side salad as well, and even the bread and blue cheese butter brought in the beginning are very good. All finished with a great creme brûlée as well. From the ambiance to the service to the food Paris Room is a pretty and heartwarming gem in the competitive dining scene of Chagrin Falls. Will definitely come back and highly recommended. read more

We have been excited to try this restaurant for quite a while and left thinking everything was about average for a restaurant in this price range. The service was average, there was a cute ambience although the tables were so close together you could easily hear the conversation beside you. The short rib was good, but similar to a dish easily made it home. The Seabass was good, although that's hard to mess up. The French onion soup was better than average. On a beautiful Friday afternoon, we ventured into Chagrin Falls for a little walk and dinner here. We knew of this location, but had never tried it until today. AND let me tell you, what a FANTASTIC dinner we all had. First, must start out with Steven, our server. One of the best around!! Entertaining and turns out lived, as a young guy, right near our dining friends! Talk about a small world, but I digress. Steven set out the specials for the evening and answered all of our questions, which amounted to only ONE!! Took the drink order and would take the appetizer/entrée when he returned. When he returned, we placed our orders; 3 French Onion Soup; and the Pâté as the appetizers and the entrées were the Lamb Meatloaf; the Chicken Crepe; and two French Pot Pies. Now let me tell you, there are no words to describe each dish!! Utterly out of this world. First the meatloaf; rustic French lamb meatloaf  with mushroom, Kalamata olive, bleu cheese, smoked paprika aioli, served with a dollop of Yukon gold mashed potatoes; and veggies consisting of carrots and string green beans!! I am a meatloaf lover, and this dish exceeded anything I have had and that is no offense to my beloved wife's dish. Highly recommend this for a hearty meal. The two ladies ordered the pot pies and both stated the best ever, and each had a "chien bag" to take home!!! The crepe was creamy and tasty, but not over powering with a chicken taste. And each dish was served pipping hot!! As the evening went on, we were pleased to meet Sally McSherry, the owner and visionary! The setting was matching to the name, Paris Room! She told us about the art that surrounds the outdoor patio (a must spot to dine on any evening) the use of local ingredients, and her passion for fine dining. She NAILED IT!!! Chose this place for a birthday dinner. Our food was good. ( and they include a salad with your meal. This is getting rarer and rarer). Our server was just the right amount of nice. Friendly, helpful and very on top of the game. Some improvements: the wall by our table was really dirty with some recent liquid-like stains running down it which I couldn't help look at throughout the evening. Also, the chandelier above could have used a bit of dusting. Overall, I can't say I was crazy about the low ceiling of a converted cellar hanging over my head. Lastly, as I mentioned it was a birthday celebration so we didn't appreciate the owner/hostess chiding us for bringing a cake. Telling us they don't allow food from outside and that they have desserts. I've never had a restaurant express this. Between drinks, appetizers and entrees we spent a lot of money there. Small place but very cozy and charming. We went in the group of 5 people. I really wanted to like it. Portions were on the smaller side. The bread was quite average with a sour taste, not a real French baguette. Pablo Picasso dish was simply boring and I don't recommend it. Pierre Auguste-Renoir(lamb meatloaf) was good. F. Scott Fitzgerald(Boneless beef short ribs) was good. Desserts were good we had Madam Springs' lemon pie which is more like a cheesecake, Lisa Marie's citrus olive oil cake with orange glaze and crème brûlée. My parents have been suggesting my husband and I join them here for dinner since they moved to the far East side. On a warm day in March, we finally had the opportunity to coordinate a visit. The restaurant was particularly packed as they have patio space during the warmer months that is available. Unfortunately, the staff was all new except for one server. It made for some confusing service but the food was excellent. I even tried snails for the first time! The braised beef short ribs were excellent. My husband had pork chops and we got a charcuterie board to start. All of the names of the food are Parisian-based. The cocktails are excellent and the wine list is heavily influenced by europe, as it should be. I love that the artwork on the walls were all local artisans were displaying their works in the hopes that we would purchase it. The cool cave-like ambiance is unlike anything I have seen in Chagrin before. My parents are familiar with the owner, and we were able to chat with her for a few moments and compliment her on her unique vision. I can see why this little eatery has become a gem of downtown Chagrin Falls! read more

I want to write about my most recent experience and will talk about the food, service and atmosphere: Atmosphere: it's a cozy restaurant and they seem to be managing well with the covid restrictions. They have a covered patio now which when we went, had live music playing. Service: left a lot to be desired, which is why it ended up with 3*. The service staff seemed short with us, as did management. The food took 2 HOURS to come out. We were sat for 3 hours because they were only taking bookings in waves of two, at 5:15 and 7:15 which makes no sense to me because their kitchen is tiny and couldn't handle large waves of orders. To make up for it we got comped a drink. I'm not one to be ungrateful, but in my opinion we shouldn't have had to pay for the meal. Food: delicious. But not worth a 2.5 hour wait. read more

A perfect location for a summer dinner! We were able to make a reservation fairly easily on the website and got a text reminder on the day, and were fairly easily able to get seating for 5 people. There's plenty of parking around as well. The covered patio is cute and COVID-friendly, and the staff were very attentive to the outdoor diners. They had a very comprehensive menu with options for people with varied tastes and dietary restrictions, and they typically have specials as well as their typical menu. I got the lamb chops, and I'll tell you, they're to die for. They also serve you bread and salad at no cost before your meal. We tried the lemon pie and creme brulee for dessert, and they were both super delicious. Their cocktails were also really flavorful, and they have special non-alcoholic drinks as well. My wife and I ate here August 2023. The weather was good and we were very comfortable on the covered patio. We had made a reservation through Resy but somehow they still were not expecting us. There was a guitarist playing mellow soft jazz which made the ambiance better. Unfortunately, the food was well below average. My wife started with smoked salmon tartare which was pretty good. He main course was chicken crepes. The sauce was very bland. It had nothing except the fact that it was served on a crepe to make is seem French. I had the Lamb meatloaf. I was told it was a house specialty. It was dry and again, really lacking in flavor. It had a sort of burnt orange sauce squeezed on top but this lacked flavor and did not make up for the fact that the meatloaf was dry and flavorless. What a disappointment. I've been eyeing this place for some time now & I finally had the opportunity to step-in. A lady i believe to be the owner/manager greeted us right away and gave us seating options. We opted for the bar since we originally just wanted a drink. My date got a Bombay sapphire cocktail & I had the Blueberry Collins. Both were very well made After looking through the menu I noticed the Billie Holiday crab cakes and HAD to get them I'm glad I did! The atmosphere is right up my alley... dim lighting, brick walls, small bar & indoor-outdoor seating. (Although, outdoor seating is beer & wine only) The main issue I have was the service from the bartender who we had to flag down multiple times even though I was one of the four people at the bar. She didn't really make me feel like "I belonged" I've been in the food service industry for most of my life & understand that being busy translates into that feeling for some. However, it was evident in her smiling, taking pictures, making small talk and laughing with other patrons and her barely acknowledging my presence that made me feel this way. Ok so this bothers me. 3 stars? It's charming, amazing food, neat location, always jammed (no reservations and jammed by 5:30!). Here's why. Two couples. 5 visits over two years, last weekend together. Poor service. Poor service! Dammit poor service! Not at the bar, that lady is amazing. The waitresses (haven't had a waiter). We think two were the same for all visits. Indifferent. No smiles. No "my name is". No "how was that"? Nothing. Take the order and slap it down without comment or presentation. Solution? "Almost perfect" sums up our dining experience at this quaint hideaway that you forget where you are. There are no reservations unless there are six or more people. So we walked in at 5:30 on a cold evening and the small dining room was nearly full. We were seated at our choice of the two remaining tables. An hour later a few tables were ready for the second wave. Service was professional. We were offered to sample the wine before we purchased a glass. The blanc was too citrusy, and the Riesling was just right. When asked if we'd like bread, and was told that the butter contained blue cheese, we said, yes! Was a good taste with the wine. Salad was not the favorite arugula like described, but the thin spiny lettuce leaves that are difficult to eat--disappointing. For entrees we both chose the "seafood" crepes--a hardy portion of fish, perhaps salmon, wrapped in crepes with a delicious béchamel sauce, a side of veggies al dente and an edible flower! Mmm. Outstanding. Dessert was Madame Spring's lemon pie, tart and tasted like Key Lime, and Pot de crème--a demitasse cup of a chocolate mousse-like mixture with fresh crème on top. Taste buds were happy. Plus, the water glasses were kept full. Receipt and tip suggestions were on an iPad--I prefer to figure the tip. Be aware that tax is included in the tip amounts. Our dining experience was during the Chagrin Valley Restaurant week, an excellent way to enjoy fine dining for less. This is such a cute quaint place that you absolutely need to try if you haven't yet! Just the fact the it can only be accessed from the backside of the falls sets the tone of atmosphere that this place creates. It really has that kind of hole in the wall feel and once you're inside the unique architecture makes it feel even so like you're underground! There is a cute bar with only a few seats so it really creates a personal intimate feel which would be great for a date night or just enjoying some drinks before your meal. The seating in the rest of the restaurant is equally as intimate with its minimal but eclectic design that really invokes the spirit of Paris. Their menu changes seasonally but my favorite is during the summer when they offer the Triffles chicken salad. It sounds like it would be rather simple, and it is, but it is also incredibly delicious and by far the best I've ever had. To add to the amazing atmosphere that's created in here during certain hours they bring in musicians to offer live entertainment to accompany your delicious French inspired meal! read more

Great ambiance, excellent food, waitress seemed a little rough, waters were refilled but there were no pleasantries , small talk or even a smile, almost snobbish. Was suppose to have live jazz guitarist (it said so on the website) but when we arrived they said he was out of town, music choice was good initially (jack Johnson) but then they played heavy rock metal for a little while which was not pleasant. I have to admit, the food was amazing. The washroom was adorable, stone walls, hand painted red wooden table and a nice touch with fresh flowers. We will definitely go back, hopefully the guitarist will be there and the waitresses will be in a better mood. read more

Food has smaller portion, way overpriced for its ambiance and quality. It is a place that is "trying to look French."
