BURNED MY FINGER TIPS! Soaked my fingers in acetone way too long and I can't imagine what they would've become had I not just taken them off myself while getting a pedicure. After my vacation with sore and raw finger tips, I went back and told them and they gave random excuses why I shouldn't get a refund. I am disappointed with my latest visit at Paris nails on Saturday. I have been coming here since February and like the way they do uv gel nails. I have had Jamie and the man (I'm sorry I only had him once and forgot to ask his name unfortunately). My visit in May I had the man and he was fantastic. Took a great deal of care and did massage and lotion and hot towel and nails looked great even three weeks later! Paint didn't wear thin, it was even on all sides. I would recommend and would give him five stars. My last visit was with Jamie. She does an amazing job shaping the nails in almond shape and I really love this about her I do think she is the best one there at this. Nevertheless, I think she does what she can do get the job done fast and over with. The nails look sloppy (both times I have had her) and are uneven on the sides. The paint wears off and there are bubbles in the nails. It's also 15$ more expensive when she does them and I have yet to figure out why. Only one day after bubbles appeared in nails. two days after nails got done paint on tips and side started coming off. Three days later I could see the thinning on one of the nails and it had receded from cuticle bed so it looks like I've already had them for a week....(view photos of mint nails) When I get her done again, I will not be going to Jamie regardless of how nicely she can shape nails! read more

I contacted Ct State Department of Consumer Protection . They replied that as long as the name of the business is the same, they should honor it, and that gift certificates don't expire . Well in 4 years this place has gone up in price...which is understandable. But downhill in service. I started out on a regular with Mellie who eventually got to big for her britches. She pawned me off to some new girl mid session I guess in the middle of doing my nails she had better things to do. Ok on several occasions I have gone in here and Mellie is having some type of dispute with some staff member which is not handled discreetly. She offend fires staff in some disrespectful way in front of everyone to see. She once fired a girl while the girl was doing my pedicure and then said someone else will finish you. The last straw was when after making an appointment for mani/pedi I get there and told that the person I requested cannot do my nails and that I would have to wait. Paris Nails used to be my go to place for acrylics. I made an appointment weeks in advance to get a full set for my sister's wedding, but when I got there, they had me down for a full set of eyelashes. They didn't have someone available to do my nails, and I said I could come back the next day, but everyone just stared at me instead. Eventually they had me sit down and look through the gel colors. A man came and sat down, and although I had never had him before, I figured he knew what he was doing. I had to pull of a photo of almond nails for him to copy (which he got about 90% correct), and when I pointed out a few of my nails were too long and I wanted them cut, he said he would get to it when he filed them down (for the most part they are the same length). I felt like I was being rude, constantly correcting him, and the other employees were no longer busy with customers so they were all kind of watching. I wanted two fingers to be pink chrome, and even though it's $20 extra for 10 fingers, it was somehow $8 for 2 fingers. Whatever, but when he applied the chrome, he had a woman speaking to him over his shoulder, pointing to the tools, and it seemed like it was his first time doing it. He did not get around the edges, and there was still a large strip of neon pink polish showing, and when I pointed it out, he just stared at me, and then moved on. When he went to lotion my hands, I told him I couldn't leave with all of that polish showing through, and could we just clean up the edges. He did the entire nail in the chrome glitter again, and the nail is now completely silver instead of pink chrome. (I have never done chrome before and did not know this would happen with two applications, and I feel that the nail technician should inform their client of this....however perhaps he was unaware of this as well.) In the end, I expressed how displeased I was with the silver, he said nothing, and continued to lotion my hands. We would have had to file the entire nail down and start over to fix it, and I had already been there for an hour and a half, so I decided to leave. Lastly, I would just like to point out how unsanitary this entire salon is. They do not change the plastic lining in the pedicure tubs (if there even is one to start), and my mother got an infection from one in the past. Also, when the man pulled out the monomer and polymer for my acrylics, he used a very old, stiff paper towel that was different colors as if it was used to remove polish. He cleaned his brush with it, and even used it to wipe off his nail clippers. If your nail technician does not use new and sanitized tools (the ones that come in their own individual baggies), then you should not be going there!! Also....a woman (sitting at the station next to me) was eating sunflower seeds and leaving the shells on the table. As time went on, other employees took their breaks at their stations in order to eat dinner or a snack. Just not something I can imagine doing while nail dust from filing acrylics is flying around right next to you... Overall, the nails do not look horrible. However, it was not what I wanted, and the experience as a whole was very unpleasant. Sadly, I will not be going back. read more

Disappointed in my service last week. The reviews looked good so I took a chance. They were trying to be sneaky and up charge my pedicure but didn't say they had other options (I was planing on getting one of the nicer ones anyway but still annoying). It was nothing special. The bottom coat was too think so I now have bubbles. I had to use nail polish remover at home to take off the polish on my skin around the nail. For $38 they could have done a better job cleaning my nails overall! read more

Hate To Do This. What's right is right and what is wrong is wrong I have been a loyal client to PARIS NAILS ON 500 Boston Post Rd. In Orange,CT For some time now. being a part of this industry I know exactly how much I cherish my loyal clients and I'm very loyal in there every 2 weeks. I know so many women who go to the salon to get their eyelashes done because I REFERRED them. I am always a more than generous tipper giving more than 20% each time I get a service done by anyone anywhere. Today I forgot cash and told Helen my eyelash specialist that next time I promise I will tip her double. My charge was $58.49 I was given a receipt once I got in my car I received a text message from my debit card saying I was charged $70.91. Obviously I realized that what I signed off on and what I was being charge for was a discrepancy of exactly 20%. Once I went back in the salon to figure out how this happened I was told they have no idea and it must be an issue through my bank or credit card. Hmmmm.. what people fail to realize is I have been in this industry and working off of Tips since I was 15 years old I know all about credit card machines self tipping and what is right and what is wrong and how to treat your clients and better yet I know how to run them away. I gave them multiple options and time to confess to me that they had in fact tipped themselves but instead they made me feel like I was the crazy one and didn't know what I was talking about. If something of this sort ever happened in my salon we would apologize profusely and reimburse that client right away with no questions asked (however this would never happen in my salon because we are professional individuals and cherish our clients) Moral of the story stay away from PARIS NAILS. I wish I could give zero stars, but unfortunately Yelp cannot award me that unique opportunity to adequately express how I feel. I went to this parody of a nail shop today, and I left in anger and dismay. I asked for my nails to be coffin shaped. She cut the first nail, and I informed her that it was too short. She looked at me like I was speaking French, and continued to cut my nails how she saw fit. By the time she made it to my thumbnail, my nails were all different lengths, like it was a purposeful design. Before she applied the acrylic, I informed her once more that my nails were too short, and we had an awkward staring contest, before she rose to procure some acetone to remove my nails. She clearly voiced her displeasure to her fellow co-workers, which was clear to me, even though it was not in English. As I sat there seething, I told her to just continue to do my nails. As she continued, I found myself becoming more and more irate, to the point where I told her to cease her hack job. I then offered to pay for what she had done so far, which, let me remind you, was only the application of acrylic. I then went to check-out and pay for what she had done, and she looked me straight in the eyes and said 40 dollars. I felt as if I was in the twilight zone. Once again, we had an awkward eye exchange. I looked around the shop, composed myself because of the color of my skin, and calmly said, "I am not paying you 40 dollars." My alarming monotone tone however, did not deter her. She looked at me again, and repeated, 40 dollars. I offered her 20 dollars, left with my dignity intact, and proceeded to drive home, while contemplating my whole existence. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

Great selection of colors, large staff so wait time is minimal. The salon is nothing extraordinary with prices similar to those in the Orange/Milford area. Went in for the first time for a French manicure and thought the French manicure was decent. Would try this place one more time for a regular manicure. Would have left happier if there weren't bubbles in the gel coat they did. I pointed it out and she said, "I don't see it" when it is pretty visible to the naked eye. I only get French manicures once a year for special occasions (wedding) so was expecting it to look like it was done professionally. Positives: The people speak actual English and make good conversation, also do good nail work. My pedicure and manicure were not rushed through although I was the only customer at the time I walked in. Negative points: They pay more attention to their "regulars". No complimentary message at any point which after being in a chair or an hour and a half it would have been nice to get a shoulder rub. When I was all done I was left just standing there at the counter because they were all huddled near the "regulars". No one said one word to me as I said goodbye and left. I've seen so made facebooks ads about this place I had to check it out. My first visit was to visit Lina for eyelash extensions. I was almost 10 minutes late to my appointment but she kindly still accepted me. I asked for cat eye look while still being natural and that's exactly what I received. I got so many compliments on them. However due to my care I couldn't uphold them for more than 2 weeks which is why I didn't follow up with a refill. BUT would wear them again for a vacation or special event where I can feel sexy yet natural. My second visit was to get French ombré nails by Kevin. I had seen pictures of his other clients and fell in love. I usually don't do acrylic tips but it was only possible with them so why not. Although I needed to adjust how to use them and pricey ($60) I'm in love. It's a change from my regular gel manicure but would def come back here when I'm in the mood for something different and special! read more

This place is a little overwhelming. When you walk in, there's a wall to the right with clothing and footwear merchandise, along with a circular desk in the center covered with merchandise. There are racks at the front of the store by the windows with purses. There are signs all over the nail salon with prices for the clothing and footwear merchandise. My first impression was that they were more interested in selling clothing merchandise, and less focused on being a nail salon. The staff was friendly, no complaints there. The pedicure was a little bare bones, no hot stones and a bleak application of lotion and about a 30 second leg massage. The water was luke warm. They have a great selection of gel colors. Got a basic mani-pedi and was very pleased. Everyone was polite and friendly, and the manicurist was a potter who had several small, beautiful pieces on display around the salon. (I kind of wanted to buy them all...) The only reason this is a four and not five star review is that the basic mani-pedi isn't quite as in-depth as others (with hot stones/paraffin/etc.) for about the same price. It does include a nice exfoliation and pumice scrub for the pedicure, as well as your basic nail and cuticle care, and all products used had a nice (and thankfully not overwhelming) scent. The salon is well-styled and comfortable, and there is no overwhelming chemical smell as in some nail salons, and though there was a bit of up-selling by the woman I assume owns the business, it was overall a pleasant experience. This is a very difficult review to do but I will be very honest about Paris nail. I made an appointment last week for 1pm today and they started right on time which was great. The problem that I had was the comfort level with my technician who was Jamie. It took me everything not to ask for somebody new. She was sort of impatient and had a small attitude at times.I am hoping my next visit there will be a little better. My bill came to $85 and I feel when somebody pays that amount they should at least be treated with a little more respect. My nails looked okay, and it seemed a little bubbly. Came here for the first time today and I had an amazing experience. I was welcomed by the lady at the reception desk and she seemed like the owner of the salon. She was super nice and welcoming. I got my eyebrows waxed and a pedicure. Eyebrow Wax: The lady that did my eyebrows is the one that welcomed me in the salon. She seemed very experienced and I felt like I could trust her with my eyebrows. I've been to many salons near Paris, without saying any names, and had horrible experiences, so I definitely recommend going here and asking for this lady! I'm sorry I don't have a specific name because I did not ask for her name, BUT she had glasses if that helps! When I come again I will update this review with the name. Anyways the first time around she did them well, but I still thought they were a little thick, so right away she fixed it to my liking. She made it a bit too thin and gave me a shock, but that's just because I'm not use to thin eyebrows, but my mom did say it came out very nicely in terms of the shape and the arch! So I will definitely come back for her. She even said now that I know what you like, next time we can basically perfect them! She was super attentive which is always great. Pedicure: I got my pedicure from a younger lady, she seemed like in her 20s, and wore glasses. She was very good and precise, and generally I had a good experience with her. I wished the massage that she gives at the end can be given with a bit more effort, but overall she was good. All in all, I had a very good experience here! The staff was all very nice and seemed to know what they were doing. Although it is more expensive compared to their nearby competitors, I think it is well worth paying a few more dollars. If you're going to pamper yourself, you should definitely pay a bit more for better service and quality! I really liked their massage chairs too, helped my back! :) read more

I love this place! My tech is Lina and I'm a psychopath with my nails! I like then a very specific way and Lina gets it right every time. Im a hairdresser and my nails take a beating daily and they stay in great shape for WEEKS! I travel 30 mins to get them done by her. Believe me I've tried other salons and HATED each once, I would have to go home and fix them. They are a little bit more expensive than a "normal" nail salon but its WORTH every penny. I used to get gel manicures all the time. But after looking at my bank account and noticing how much I was spending on the long-lasting manis, I decided to take a break for a few months and save the money. Fast forward a few months to my birthday, and I needed little convincing that my sad-looking digits could use a pick-me-up: a gel manicure was definitely in order. I hopped in the car and instinctively headed to my usual place in Orange, CT, Natura Nails. It was 10am on a Saturday, which is typically when they open, so I was hopeful I'd be one of the first ones in to avoid a wait. The parking lot was completely empty and the storefront was locked up and lights were off. There was no sign that the store was closed otherwise, so I decided to wait around for a while. Sadly, no one showed...not sure why. Still convinced that I desperately needed a manicure, I immediately opened up the Yelp app. One of the first nail salons to pop up nearby, with decent reviews, was Paris Nails. I had never noticed it before even though it was less than 50 feet away from my usual salon. 30 seconds later I was there. The previous Yelp reviews had mentioned gel manicures being $25, which I was not sure still held true, or if there were exceptions...especially since I wanted two different gel colors (I often have my ring fingers painted a different color). To my delight, it still held true. 25 bucks for a gel mani?! Why had I ever gone anywhere else???? Sigh. The salon itself is clean and has a cool vibe. Looks a bit like a converted loft space with exposed brick walls. The staff were all very welcoming and nice. And my manicure is pure perfection and still looking brand new almost a week later. Hoping it sticks around another couple weeks - the benefit of a great gel manicure. Looking around the room during my manicure, I noticed signs scattered about for their other services. Very intrigued by the $65 full set of eyelash extensions (usually the first time eyelash extensions are placed, the pricetag is in the hundreds...). Anyway, I know I will be back for sure. A little cluttered at first but Mellie was a sweetheart and did a great job on my nails. Prices were average $25. They did not massage my hands with cream or wash them or use a hot towel, which I thought was odd? Also this place does not massage your neck and shoulders while drying, which was a big downer for me. I wanted to love it here, but it was just ok, but not excellent. I'm definitely a harsh nail critic, but I have to admit the service was great! I almost fell asleep getting my pedicure. I splurged for the Lavender Spa Pedicure. It was good. The only part that I did not enjoy was the paraffin wax. I appears a bit dated, and it is rather communal. This review is based on my microblading I got done 4 weeks ago which ensures ample healing time. I Wish I never got my eyebrows microbladed. They're completely uneven and embarrassing as hell. What's worse is that when I showed my concern I was told that they might look uneven bc of the swelling, nope. And when I think about it- she must've known she royally messed up my brows bc after she was done she could not have ran out the room and left me alone fast enough. Like she was no where to be found when i went to the counter to pay, didn't even give me aftercare instructions, and didn't even set me up for my touch up appointment. When I called 4 weeks later to make the appointment she was shocked that I had not made one when I came in for my initial appointment. Ummm? Then during my touch up, I was told that "my first appointment I was very lax and didn't seem to care about my shape" when I kept saying they seemed uneven I was told "I was looking into them too much, they look great". One brow has a much thicker arch than the other and also comes down much further in the beginning that the other. Not even close to being even and extremely noticeable, especially in photos. The first thing my husband said to me when he saw my brows were that they looked completely uneven! I offered to draw in my own brows during the touch up praying they could be fixed but was not given the opportunity. After retouch they still look exactly the same. Make sure you make an appointment before going because I see a lot of people walking out because they are booked. Unlike other salons they won't tell you to wait if they are really busy.
