the reason I fly through New York JFK is to have breakfast at the Paris Cafe. The food and coffee are excellent, nothing 'airport food' about it, delicious and made to order. However, the main draw is the lovely staff: Nat to greet you, the wonderful Marco and Mike to look after you, and recently Larry also added to the sense of a place that treats you to a five star breakfast and makes you feel at home. read more

This is a note about the staff's compassion. My partner had to fly home immediately after learning of a family emergency and decided to stay at the TWA Hotel tonight to avoid the early-morning rush to the airport for an 8am flight. I wasn't able to go with, but a few very emotional text messages later, I decided I had to do something. I called the restaurant and let them know the situation--and they were incredibly kind and accommodating. From just a description, the staff located the right table and brought a dessert from me to my partner. I felt powerless, even though I was just an hour away, and they made it possible for me to send a love note to my partner in a moment of despair. Table of 9, Waiting 20 minutes, no one comes to the table for water or anything. They have the absolute nuts to charge $40 for a basic salad with chicken and not have top notch service is outrageous. We had to leave because 5 kids and 4 adults going up the wall hungry. Food prices need work. Highway robbery without having to move. read more

I absolutely loved my dinner at the Paris Cafe in late January while staying at the TWA hotel. We had reservations for 830 pm on a sunday, but they took us 30 minutes earlier. This was amazing and really helped, because the place was pretty booked up. the decor is dark and seductive, perfect for a date or an intimate dinner like we were celebrating. overall we had great service and would come back if i end up back at the TWA hotel. keep in mind, the meal itself was expensive, and every signature drink was $19. we ran that bill up with drinks. i ordered 6 for myself and my date had 5. it was a rough night for sure. a must get app, or just keep it to yourself, is the spicy tuna crunch. i absolutely loved this. the fish flavor comes through, but theres also a slight cream flavor blended in. each piece if the perfect bite. we shared the chicken entree. for 1 person this size is enough, but we shared it, so i still felt hungry for dessert. but the chicken itself was cooked perfectly. i felt the lemon sauce was a bit too salty, but once we dipped the focaccia bread into it, it helped it. the chicken itself had a nice toasted skin, and was a large breast serving. the veggies were cooked well. the carrot cake is made in house and was a nice serving. overall it wasn't too sweet and was the perfect way to end my birthday dinner with this slice, a candle and a happy birthday chocolate on top. i believe our servers name were Nadiene and Mundiane? Great experience dining here before we headed overseas to Scotland. We weren't super hungry so we split a meal-- rigatoni and meatballs and added a side of asparagus. Yum! We had dinner here back in March while staying overnight at TWA prior to a flight the next day. We liked everything at TWA as well, contrary to what a lot of others had to say. I will say, Paris Cafe is pretty pricey and doesn't have a very elaborate menu, but it was the only option for a sit down dinner at the airport. It also has a Michelin star chef....Chef Jean-Georges. I had to check it out! They have a regular seating area which is surrounded by large windows, or you can sit by the kitchen in kind of a bar style seating. Food was good. I had a turkey burger with no bun. The roasted red peppers and Smokey aioli were very good. Fries were nice and crispy. I can't say much for the salmon as I didn't have that. The man said it was good. We had a delicious bottle of red wine with our meal. Pricey but it's New York and we knew that going in. Good food if you are staying overnight and want a sit down dinner. read more

Located on the 2nd floor of the TWA Hotel, just outside JFK Airport, Paris Café is a great spot to relax if you're looking to avoid waiting inside the terminal during a long layover, flight delay, or while picking someone up. The service was fast and friendly. I tried the warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream--essentially their take on a molten lava cake--and it was delicious. Not overly sweet, and the ice cream paired perfectly with the rich cake. Considering the prime airport location, the prices were reasonable. Definitely a cool and convenient place to check out if you're near JFK. read more

I want to start by saying this: the food was genuinely delicious. Like "I would absolutely eat this again" delicious. If this exact meal had been served literally anywhere else--an airport lounge, a sidewalk, a folding table in a parking lot--it would've earned a solid 5 stars. Unfortunately, it was served here. I give a lot of grace to servers at the end of their shift. I've been there. I understand exhaustion, distractions, Mercury in retrograde, etc. That said... initial contact was slow, follow-up was slower, and by the time we finished our drinks (which happened quickly, since no one checked back), we became invisible. Like full-on airport ghost status. My husband asked for more bread for dipping. By the time it arrived, his food had gone from "freshly served" to "emotionally distant and cold." A true tragedy. So yes--great food. Poor execution. If you have the option, eat before you get to the hotel. Or pack snacks. Or lower your expectations and bring patience... lots of patience read more

This cafe has the most number of options to eat among the other food place inside the hotel. It has a nostalgic vibes. The music is something you'll enjoy listening especially if you were born and live during the TWA era. Our server was quick to have us seated but were disappointed when we were told that their fryer was not working and can't offer anything fried at the moment...a star deduction to the experience. We settled to the faster service , ordered easy to serve. The decor and design of the restaurant is beautiful. With a good view of the running Air Train, worth dining here if you are not really looking for a fancy meal. Pricing is very touristy but was fun being here. read more

Service timing could be better. We were surprised that the focaccia bread was not warmed and although it came with a nice oil did not have a side of salt. We had the mushroom risotto which had a nice flavor but the rice was slightly overcooked. I had the crusted salmon medium rare which it was and perfectly done. We also really enjoyed the salmon sushi appetizer. We came for the 5 star architectural design, but the overall dining experience did not quite match up, although the prices are high. read more

This restaurant, located inside of the TWA hotel at JFK was a blast. It is so nostalgic and just a fun place to be. I especially liked the 60's tunes playing throughout the hotel and in the restaurant. It almost become a giant sing-along. The prices are definitely not reflective of that era! It was pretty expensive, even for a hotel in NYC. But remember... You're paying for the experience and it was wonderful. Enjoy yourself here. We knew we were going out for dinner and wanted to keep the lunch light. We truly enjoyed our selections, a Margherita Pizza and a Burrata. The food was well prepared and delicious. Service was excellent and the whole crew clearly works as a team. It was a fantastic space with great views all around and you get to watch planes taking off. This is probably going to be the biggest surprise of the year. We stayed at the TWA hotel the night before an early departure from JFK, and didn't want to go into Queens for dinner. We had resigned ourselves to a mediocre airport meal, but Paris Cafe firmly corrected that impression. We had the corn soup (complex, spicy, delightful!), broccoli and kale salad (yum), salmon (get this medium rare as the crust can dry it out), a glass of sancerre, and a slice of carrot cake. Y'all. Everything was good, but that carrot cake, my word. If it had had nuts, that carrot cake would be the best version in all of NYC. We spent a good 5 minutes talking about our shock. JFK just gave me a reason to prioritize flying out of it, which is really saying something. Is it over priced? Yeah. You're at the freaking airport, capitalism will take advantage and I'm sure it's not cheap to run. Is the service slow? Sure. But it's warm and friendly. Don't eat here if you're in a rush without saying something to the staff. And those swivel seats! Some of the comfiest restaurant chairs my butt has ever met. read more

We had two meals at Paris Cafe; dinner and breakfast. Everything about our overnight stay at TWA was expensive. Appetizers start at $20, burgers are $30, etc. We ordered the salmon sushi appetizer, the cheddar cheeseburger, and the salmon. They were all good not great. Breakfast was surprising and odd in some ways. Everything was enormous. The "eggs any style" breakfast ($19) could easily be shared. I added a side of avocado. I'll blame the jet lag but I also ordered oatmeal ($10) plus a side of berries ($7) for my daughter. The bowl must have had like 3-4 servings of piping hot oatmeal. It was so hot we had to spread it on a side plate to cool it off. The side of fruit was also gigantic. I felt like I had to at least eat all of the berries eggs and avocado it would be such a waste. The sides were huge and expensive, but at least there was plenty of food. We also ordered a glass of organge juice which ended up being $9. They don't offer smaller dishes for kids. There was no flexibility. I just found it off putting. And the service was indifferent. We ate here out of convenience and honestly wouldn't have this on our list of "must try" places just because it has Jean-Georges name attached to it. The ambiance was very cool. Service was good. The menu is small but they had a few appetizers, salads, pizzas, and entrees. I started with a cauliflower appetizer and it was quite good. The Paris cafe is tucked inside the TWA hotel at the JFK airport. We booked a late valentines dinner. The parking is a little bit the Wild West since you're at the airport and the self park didn't feel super clear when I arrived so I valeted. Had to flag down the valets inside. While they eventually come over and were nice and helpful, the front pull up area was a little chaotic. We spent time wandering around the TWA before dinner as it seems many other patrons do. As For the actual restaurant, I enjoyed the retro vibe and it had many compelling options on the menu. I didn't quite realize how interconnected it was to the airport in the sense that there were a lot of children walking around, a lot had recently come from the pool or were running around looking at all the cool spots the TWA has to offer and I'm thinking their parents were at dinner and they were all staying at the hotel. No issues there, just not what I expected. The service was a little bare bones to be honest. No explanations, just a "what's your drink order" and on the next visit "what's your food order". Again it was Valentine's Day so maybe they'd had enough. The actual food was pretty good. We had a great burrata with a lemon emulsion, it was a fun take on a classic. The crispy salmon sushi was also very good (I think that dish is also very trendy right now). I had the fish and chips because I very rarely go to places that have it and I figured at a Jean George restaurant they were not going to mess them up. I was right, they were very good fish and chips. My date got the calamari as a main and that was just fine. I do have to give the chocolate cake a shoutout- it was great and totally reminiscent of dominoes chocolate lava cake. I thought about getting the burger or a pizza dish. Totally solid food options, a ton of reasonable dishes, nothing wild, out of the ordinary or over the top. The menu is definitely catering to clientele, namely the traveling family. read more

We ate breakfast here and were very underwhelmed by the whole experience. On a Sunday morning, there was no hostess so we waited a few minutes until staff came by. My group all ordered eggs Benedict and it was probably the worst eggs Benedict I've ever had. It was just disgusting. To make it worse, all of our orders were messed up. Some ordered more cooked yolk and it came out runny, etc. All in all we expected better. read more

This is a fun stop if you have some time before your JFK flight. It's a short walk from the Terminal 5 AirTrain stop inside the TWA Hotel lobby. It's up a short flight of stairs that lead to a large semi-circular dining area with a long bar and views over the airport area. The cocktails are good and the food is also tasty. Breaks no new culinary ground, but it's well-executed. Pricey, but look where you are. The mid-century design is a big ol' hoot and the servers are always very pleasant and attentive. I would like to note that the staff brought a bottle of champagne and glasses that was intended for another table. The manager took the bottle back instead of absorbing the cost. We ended up getting another bottle due to the mix up. Poor taste after hyping us up while we celebrated my mother's birthday. We ended up buying a bottle to replace the one taken. I mean we had champagne glasses and everything. It was poor taste of the manager and the bottle wasn't that expensive. The server was visible embarrassed and kept apologizing saying it was the restaurant manager error. Not hers. She was a doll. The manager a troll. lol. If you're staying at the hotel overnight. I had to order the Crispy Salmon Sushi bc it was so good the last time. Once again, the crispy rice pieces, dabs of sauce, buttery raw salmon, & micro (cilantro?) were deLISH. The side of broccolini was as delish. I got it to go, & when I opened the container, the smoky char, lemon, olive oil scent that wafted out was to die for. Salty, lemony, olive oil-y, order this if you're craving fries & you'll be happier & just as satisfied! Cheddar Cheeseburger w/a turkey patty & fries were fine. Generously sized patty, but as with a lot of turkey patties it was kindof dry. The beef patty cooked to order would prob be better, but lighter was the way to go today. I'd still order it again though bc the pickles & onion strings are yum. Fries that came with the burger were salty good, & the pieces of salty fried parsley were fresh little accents. Yummy! Reliably good food here. My choice to pop in for an an early dinner was wise - it was clearly filling up as I was heading out. read more

Pleasantly surprised by the Paris Cafe (located in the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport)- we made a reservation for 6pm, and we were promptly seated. If you're sitting by the window around sunset, know that you may need some sunglasses ^^;; we were blasted by the sun but luckily I had my sunglasses so I sat facing the sun so my husband could enjoy his meal without squinting. Because the original architecture of the terminal was kept, there aren't any shades to keep out the glare! Service was great- Our server (I didn't catch her name :( ) was attentive and sweet, and checked up on us often. Decor- it's an open kitchen restaurant- really beautifully done! Outside views are the parking lot and the terminal. And of course, you can gaze around the beautiful interior of the lobby floor. Food-We started with some cocktails (try the Ginger Margarita!) and ordered the crispy rice salmon sushi as an appetizer, the zucchini/yellow squash pizza, the cheeseburger and the turkey burger. The salmon sushi was already very flavorful, no soy sauce needed! My husband loves crispy rice, and it was a great start to the meal. The pizza was fresh out of the oven and the crust was slightly charred and just GORGEOUS. Great summer pizza with hints of lemon. Maybe we were a little greedy with our starters, but so worth it. The burgers each came with a small mountain of fries (i couldn't finish :( ) My turkey burger was topped with red pepper and this amazing smoky aioli that was fantastic and complemented the turkey perfectly. For dessert- sour cherry pie with pistachio ice cream! Fantastic finish to a full-out feast. Not gonna lie, it is pricey- but you are paying for both a delight for your eyes (i mean, just take it in- you're sitting in a piece of history and having a meal!) and also tastebuds. I've given very few places on Yelp one star, very, very few, but Paris Cafe is getting thrown just that. We had an 8 hour layover in between a flight from Paris to Las Vegas so we headed to the TWA area to relax and hang out for a bit. One thing about TWA, is it doesn't have much for food outside of the Paris Cafe so we just figured we would grab a bite to eat here. We approached the check in area and ended up standing around for about 8 minutes (this is 100% not an hour exaggeration) until finally someone came and seated us. The menu here has a descent selection of food at the absolute most offensive prices you could possibly imagine for the mediocre food being served. Now, I've seen at JFK a hand full of times and understand that American airports love charging high prices, but the $32 I spent on a burger was just plain wrong. The burger was the most basic tasting burger I've ever had, not even saying it was bad, but it's what I expect from a diner for $8, not $32 inside of what's supposed to be a nice restaurant. Overall, Paris Cafe was the final meal of an otherwise amazing trip filled with amazing food. The food here was mediocre and undeserving of the price tag, the wait to seat when it wasn't busy was odd, but I will give props to the dude refilling the water because he was on point. read more
