I am truly confused by all of the positive reviews about this neighborhood sandwich shop. I knew to…read moreexpect a "hole in the wall" kind of vibe, which I can forgive if the food is good. Unfortunately, it was not. Originally wanted a corned beef wrap-they didn't have corned beef. Fine. I asked what the difference is between pastrami and "crazy pastrami" and was told "it's the pickles they put it in and the craziness they do in the kitchen cutting it up". What that means remains unclear, but for $0.50 I went with the crazy pastrami. For the vegetables, I asked for lettuce, mushrooms, and black olives. The ingredients look like they've been sitting out for a few days, certainly not refrigerated. And they were put in a side-dish container with the mustard I asked for put on top then brought to the back to be incorporated into the wrap? Strange. The wrap itself was difficult to eat. I ended up not even bothering with the vegetables as they were not enjoyable to taste. I have no idea what white sauce is all over the ingredients, as it was nothing I asked for. The pastrami was minimal in quantity and even this was meh. All of the restaurants in this area have a slight upcharge for being kosher, which I don't totally understand. But in the end I truly regret spending $17.50 on this meal.

Cipollina is an absolute gold mine of Italian products right here in Forest Hills. I have to stop…read moremyself from buying everything every time I go. The owners are the real deal Italian, accents and all, and they remember your face. They carry just about every imported Italian product you could imagine: tomato sauces, seasonings, jams, pastas, cookies, chips, and all kinds of snacks. They have gluten-free versions of most items, too. The pistachio cream and lemon cream are must-buys. From the deli counter, I usually pick up fresh soppressata, provolone, mozzarella, ricotta, 'nduja, and other meats and cheeses to enjoy at home. They also stock fresh Italian bread every morning from Rose & Joe's Bakery in Astoria. Cipollina's espresso bar is excellent, too. I love their affogatos, and on weekends I can't resist the mini pistachio sfogliatelle. There's a small café-style seating area separate from the store to sit and enjoy your coffee and pastry.

There's like nothing in this area but fast food and junk, so I was excited to find this nearby. For what seems like a small space, they are able to fill it with anything you could think of. Pasta, sauces, pastries, snacks, cakes, coffees, sandwiches, gelato, and on and on and on. Got the La Capra sandwich with eggplant, goat cheese, arugala, peppers, and balsamic. The bread was perfect and crunchy, as were the ingredients. Fresh, tasty, and enjoyed an iced caffe latte on the side. Definitely brought me back to life. Service was fast and friendly. Picked up my favorite Italian bagged cookies as well, and will definitely be back for some pantry shopping!

This food is delicious. It's freshly made to order and takes several minutes before it comes out. The dining chicken tasted like BBQ chicken off the grill. It had a nice char and a slight spice to it. The jillif rice was spicy and had a tomato flavor. The sautéed onions on it were salty, spicy, crunchy while giving off a nice juice. Then the raw onions were peppery and tangy. The whole meal was delicious. The strawberry lemonade was refreshing and sweet. It had a creamy feel to it. Very enjoyable. Oh... the chicken empanada....DELICIOUS. get it. Will be returning here. Mera's Tip: jollof

Theirs is a little dry and not as smokey as I'd like, but they do add a side of some type of tomato and onions near it so I mix it in and it does add a little more to it so thats a 4/5. Ive also had their fatal and it was good too. I see that they recently added fufu to their menu but its too expensive in comparison to the other places I've had. I wish they had egusi on their menu, but it'll probably be very expensive as most things are at this restaurant.

The last time I had Subway was probably over 12 yrs ago. Subway is really bad. I ordered for pick up, an Italian and a Cheesesteak with extra meat. It was ready in 15 mins. I couldn't eat it till 30 mins later at the mall. The beef cheesesteak was still warm and it was pretty good. I've only had prob 3 in my life... The meat was so tender. I don't usually eat American cheese but it was still nice and melted with the meat. The sandwich was so rich but tasty. Lots of flavor. I actually ate more than half of the reg size. Very filling but I did order extra meat. The original.. tasted good but next time I'll opt out oregano since L doesn't care for it ..but everything else was great. Everything tasted fresh. I haven't had a deli sandwich in so long. It reminded me of when Blimpies used to be at the old Queens Center. Pick up was ready at the time my app said it would be. It seemed very clean and organized inside. L wants to come back and try the Tuna next time and fyi this is so much better than the deli store in Upper Manhattan near L's workplace...

I was so wonderfully surprised to find this vegetarian and vegan diner. The name alone, Smile of…read morethe Beyond, is so unique and quirky, and I loved it. They always have vegan pancakes on the menu, but when I went, the special was vegan peach and mango pancakes piled high with vegan whipped cream and a little cinnamon. They were some of the most flavorful vegan pancakes I've ever had. The vegan bacon was the best I've ever had, perfectly crisp. The Ginger Blast drink was the perfect spicy, refreshing addition. The whole place has such a peaceful, distinctive vibe. They play soothing, meditative music, like the kind you'd hear in a spa, and they have cute inspirational cards that make the experience feel even more special. The diner has been around since 1972, and that sense of character really comes through. It's owned and operated by students of spiritual teacher, poet, and philosopher Sri Chinmoy, which helps explain the calm, uplifting atmosphere. If you're anywhere near here, definitely go.

We went on a Saturday morning, which was busy but it was only a 10 minute wait for a roomy booth. We ordered a vegan egg, cheese and sausage sandwich and a vegan Philly cheesesteak. The Philly was delicious and the flavor was amazing. The breakfast sandwich was just okay. One thing I was surprised about was that nothing else came with our orders, unlike general diners. No greens, breakfast hash, fries, etc. So when ordering, keep that in mind. The strawberry banana smoothie was so good and the ginger shot was good value for the price. We were still a bit hungry so we grabbed a cookie from the front cashier and had it added to our bill. I would come back, pretty much because it's the only vegetarian/vegan diner that I know of.
