I happened to pass by this cafe on Saturday and did a U-turn to stop in. It was huge and I've never seen it before (well I don't frequent Rockaway blvd so I guess that's why ℓoℓ). Anyway, the decor is too cute, it's clean. And after speaking to the staff they say that all proceeds go to fighting injustices of the world. Let's get to the goodies tho. The menu is limited, but the offerings cover many breakfast cravings. My family and I ordered a bagel and scrambled eggs, a veggie omelet and an Eiffel Tower crepe that had strawberries and Nutella. Walked in here on a Saturday morning around 9am, and to my surprise the establishment was packed! Lots of people enjoying breakfast. That can only say one thing, the place is good! And yes it was. I tried my all time favorite coffee, caramel latte and they did a great job at it. My husband had a caramel ice coffee and my son had the Nutella late both also very nice. As far as food goes we had a BLT on a croissant, waffles with eggs and bacon and a sausage egg & cheese on a everything bagel all three Super yummy and fresh! The place is super cute, small but feels very homey. The staff are all very nice and welcoming. What a great little spot! We were looking for some brunch food near our hotel and the cafe is about a 10 minute walk from several large hotels (Hilton, Marriott, Crown Plaza). Such friendly staff and we were so pleased with the food! We ordered a snickerdoodle latte, pumpkin spice latte, regular waffle, and the pancake plate with scrambled eggs and sausage. Randomly saw this spot on the way to a job, and had to stop. Really liked this place from the moment I stepped in. They had a great coffee menu with some different things than most typical coffee shops would have. I went with the Eskimo brew and it was delicious. I tried to escape without grabbing a desert but the tres leches was calling my name. It was one of the best tres leches that I've had in a long time. I'm assuming they do the baking there, my hats off to them. I get that at every restaurant I go to and there are a few spots that compare. Honestly well done. Loved this place. It's being operated by the Church next door and they donate most of the proceeds to charitable causes(including all tips). Coffee was great, atmosphere was awesome and food was really good. It's very cozy and inviting. If you're anywhere near the area, it's a must visit. A friend of ours, on a one-night lay over flight at JFK, found this little gem via an online search, and asked us to meet her there for breakfast (we live in Nassau County). The cafe itself is rather small but has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The only thing that kept this from a 5 is that the service can be very delayed. We were looking for a place to eat, and thanks to Yelp, found this neighborhood gem after picking up our car from the Federal Circle AirTran stop. It was slightly tricky to get to, only because of the numerous constructions en route. We were greeted by friendly helpers, who happily made recommendations. I went with the bacon egg sandwich with whole wheat, which was tasty. My girl had the savory crepe with chicken, which was only ok for me due to the tuna sandwich-like taste and texture. The mocha with soy milk was good; didn't know about the extra $1 for soy milk until afterwards, but I'm fine with it. Free water was provided without resistance. The bill came out to a little under $10 for each of us. Free internet here with the password on the receipt. Untimed free street parking is easily available. Although the place was clean and festively decorated, it can only accommodate about a dozen people, and the bathroom is only a one-seater for all. Only when we were buying another snack to go did we realize that this cafe was run by a church. The workers are all volunteers, and all the tips go to missions such as providing clean water for needy neighborhoods. Awesome.
