Rolled up Christmas morning at 6:50am fully prepared for heartbreak, assuming they'd be closed that early (and because when I called at 6:30 am no one answered). But thankfully, Paris Baguette was wide awake and perhaps I was the first customer of the day. To my absolute "delightment," every case was fully stocked with the freshest most delicious-looking pastries, buns and cakes. Grabbed my usual assortment of croissants, cronuts, and mochi rings, plus a hot coffee to go. Zero misses. The pastries were perfection, and the coffee deserves its own slow clap... mild roast, smooth, flavorful, no bitter afterthoughts. Big respect to a spot that shows up early on Christmas and delivers like it's just another Tuesday. Consistent. Dependable. Delicious. That's brand loyalty behavior right there.

Turkey avocado sandwich

We grabbed a handful of sandwiches and baked goods here recently, and were reminded why Paris Baguette has become one of few consistently trusted, reliable bakeries for us. First off, the crab coleslaw sandwich was such a petite treat, and the mix of crabmeat, ketchup, and fresh cucumber slices folded in a crispy croquette was everything I had expected. The turkey avocado sandwich was clearly very carefully put together, and I've come to expect this level of attention to detail from Paris Baguette. The ganache chocolate bombolone was a pleasant surprise with the cool filling, and their Bon Delicieux castella is one of my faves from them. Long live PG.

I've been a loyal customer of Paris Baguette for over 15 years, going back to when I was in New York. I always been my go-to place for cakes for events or special occasions. However, I've noticed some changes that have made me question my loyalty. First of all, the prices have gone up by 36%, and the portion sizes have also changed drastically. It's no longer the same quality of cake and pastry that I used to enjoy. Edison location has become one of my favorite places to go back when they just opened, especially since my parents used to live there. The location is very convenient, being close to markets and other restaurants. The interior of the store has undergone a major renovation, which has improved the overall appearance of the place. However, the staff has not improved. The staff at Paris Baguette is extremely rude and unhelpful. I've come here once a week with my husband, and we've had a few negative experiences. One time, we had our food heat up, and other times when we ask one of the staff she rolled her eyes and refused to do it. She said it couldn't be done, even though the food was already tagged with "recommended heated."the staff was completely indifferent to our concerns. She didn't even bother to apologize. Though she was flirting so much with another staff. Her customer is not her concern. Overall, I'm disappointed with the quality of the food and the service at Paris Baguette. I've had better experiences at other bakeries, and I'm not sure I'll be coming back anytime soon.

came here to study and have a quick bite at 2pm. the two things i got were meh. I have had better quality of the same items at another paris baguette. The interior was clean and easy to find seats. they also got free wifi! the staff was nice as well. it was a bummer that the food quality didn't live up to the standards.

The lady helped me with the cake! Very nice! And the ingredients are fresh, what more could you ask for in a bakery?

There's a couple of Paris Baguettes in a 10 mile radius from here, but this one is often busy. They have a good selection though and the cute little outdoor seating can be fun during the summer for people watching. They do have an app, but I haven't seen them have daily late night deals like Tous Les Jours do. They have a strong selection of beverages so they do very well as a cafe. Speaking of cafes, PB isn't like a local bakery for custom cakes, so choose a cake from their selection (can preorder so they have a fresh one ready on pickup day and won't sell out) and you'll be fine.

Clean and packed. Ordered a birthday cake on Christmas Day - mini shortcake . My only complaint is that they don't have much fruits inside the cake and a whole lotta cream. It was quick and convenient where you order from the app and just go to mobile pickup. I've tried their drinks and croquettes in the past and it was delicious. This place is a few dollars cheaper compared to NYC prices.

Pretty large space with a decent amount of seating. A large selection of both sweet and savory pastries. Everything was well stocked. Also has a standard list of typical cafe drinks. They were very busy but I didn't have to wait in line long. I'm a frequent Paris baguette visitor and this one was pretty nice. The rainbow slice is my favorite! It's like fruity pebbles in cake form. The fresh strawberry on top was also delicious.

Ask the Community - Paris Baguette

Are the cakes and pastries sweet like American and European baked goods or semi-sweet like Chinese baked goods?

I would say both- they have a pineapple-like danish that delicious and appropriately sweet. They also have a sweet potato braid, which is mildly sweet and a bit savory. Depends on what you get.

Our first time at an Asian bakery since moving to Jersey! I funny enough heard about this in…read morepassing and not long after, spotted this place in the same shopping center as the 99 Ranch in Edison and I made a pit stop there (hence no drinks) before going on a grocery run. It was at night on a Saturday so many of the shelves were empty but they still had a few things left. Sunmerry appears to be a chain but one that I have never visited before until now so I can't really comment on what they have, but I did manage to grab: MATCHA CLOUD DONUT - This reminded me vaguely of the im donut donuts I tried in NYC. Very soft and pillowy and filled to the brim with a lightly sweet, matcha filling. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this. RED BEAN MATCHA BAGEL - it's a matcha dough with red bean filling BUT the filling doesn't go all the way around. It goes maybe 65% so if you're splitting this with someone like I did, fingers crossed you both get a decent amount. The bagel was soft and in a bagel shape but it lacked the chew of a bagel. The filling was nice and different but the matcha taste was subtle - if that. Overall, liked the idea, but I wanted more of a bagel chew than what I got and to taste the matcha better. Maybe even have a more even share of the red bean. COFFEE BRIOCHE LOAF - my husband liked this one! Which is good because I got it for him. This is quite good. Soft, lightly sweet with a coffee top. We ate this maybe 12 hours after and much of the top layer had "melted" and gotten on the cellophane but it was still delicious. Perfection. I definitely scraped off the coffee bits from the cellophane so it didn't go to waste. PINEAPPLE BUN W/ MILK - I grabbed this one thinking there was a filling inside and there wasn't. I don't know if the bun was placed in the wrong location or the name is telling me the bun isn't vegan but it's a good pineapple bun but without anything inside, it was a tad dry. Maybe it needs a pat of butter like they do in HK. MELON PAN - I haven't had this in a good long while so I got it for fun. It's smaller than the pineapple bun and the topping is a little sweeter - I remember crunching on sugar crystals. It's not bad but also not filled so it's a tiny bit on the dry side. The place has tables to the side where you can enjoy your goodies. I didn't stay too long but they definitely serve drinks and delicious cakes as well. The staff were nice and the place seemed on the dim side. Fingers crossed I can go back during the day to get a better idea of what they have! In the meantime, this is a good place for an Asian bakery fix. They do list out ingredients under the names of their baked goods so that's awesome! From what I could see, their baked goodies are likely not vegan or gluten-free friendly, though...

They also offer tea, coffee, and refreshing fruit drinks in the summer. My go-to items are the almond croissant and the coconut buns, but the donuts are flaky and tasty too. They even have a membership program that gives you dollars off your purchases--definitely worth joining if you come often. Overall, if you're looking for a bakery to try, this place is absolutely worth a visit. There's plenty of parking and a few tables where you can sit, relax, and enjoy your treats.

The doorbell rings. I open the door cautiously…read more "Here's your order," says the smartly dressed young man, and pushes a brown bag inside. "All in there?" I inquire. He smiles, "You can check for yourself." I look inside the bag. "Yup, seems fine. Great doing business with you" "Wait." He pushes a pen in front of me, "I need your signature that you got the goods". I comply, and make polite conversation: "Business doing well?" "We're all sold out". He responds "I heard you were no longer selling wholesale?" "Yes". He responds solemnly. "The shop closed. We only do home delivery now". "Well, you've got great quality. I expect your customers will stay loyal". "I hope so." He responds, before waving me goodbye. I close the door, and excitedly turn the bag over. I can't wait to feed the addiction. And, out of the bag fall two small plastic boxes, each containing..... one dozen macarons :D So, yes - this is my crack: French macarons. AND, I get it delivered at home. But, there is no other option. Now that Tafu in Mid-town has closed, Mitzy Budiono, who bakes some of the best macarons in New York, sells her addictive goodies by fulfilling customers orders placed on her website. http://www.itzybitzypatisserie.com/ I don't think one needs to mention, that home delivery is a far more convenient option than trekking all the way to New Brunswick! I know, I know, all of you are just dying to rush past the guidos driving in for the weekend ;) Given the quality of her macarons, I am a loyal customer and have tried the 6 monthly flavors, for three consecutive months now. The recent month's (May's) flavors - Cabernet, Houjicha, Chocolate, Spicy Chocolate, Raspberry Chocolate, and Pistachio, have been more intense than those in the previous month (black sesame with azuki, Chocolate passion fruit, Jasmine, mango, chocolate Mint, and chocolate caramel), which I wasn't convinced were pulled off exceedingly well (by now I have lofty expectations of her product!). The taste for many of the Asian accented April flavors was far too subtle for me, even if I did appreciate that Mitzy used fresh mint (as opposed to extract) to draw out the flavor, and the black sesame was perhaps the best version I've had in macarons. Mitzy's macarons have some of the best shape, texture, and colors of those available in the city. They have excellent bite, reasonable quantity, and great quality of filling. I can condone the occasional lack of intensity in flavor for the compensating factor that her fillings aren't too sweet. While I adore Madeleine Patisserie, there are times when I find some of their flavors as excessively sweet. The only exasperation is to go through the (often slow) website to place an order, and hope that Mitzy has received it in time for her Saturday shipments. As you need to order at least two dozen macarons, make sure that you start a macaron pool with your friends ;) Count me out, for I am not sharing these with anyone! :)

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.
