I'm a fan of paris baguettes but this location is probably my least favorite. It's clean and items taste consistent with other locations, but often times they're out of many items. Half the breads (including sweet potato, red bean, and many of the more popular options) were out last time and the only iced tea was a peach iced tea (this was on a random weekday). Service is ok but they will not be accommodating on any special requests at all. read more

Cute little spot nestled away in a plaza next to H Mart and Kung Fu Tea. My Mom, brother and I like to come here and hang out sometimes. Their pastries of course are delicious and made fresh. I always get their sausage bread one. My Mom always gets the Sugar, red bean circular donut. Classic favorite for her. One suggestion I do have for management is for them to put mats in front of the door inside. We went when it was raining and I swear, it was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Paris Baguette is a chain bakery store. I'm not sure where they are originally from but I've only notice them in New York. This one is in a big shopping plaza with shared parking for everyone. There's plenty of spaces but it can get busy. They have fresh stuff out and you can grab a tray and some tongs and grab what you want. You can also get to made stuff and coffee as well. I went to two different locations the one here in Edison and in New York. Total difference night and day. This location the treats were extremely fresh. The way the treats were wrapped and presented made me want them all. I had no clue what to do when I got here but on my second visit I figured it out. So when you first walk in there are trays and wax paper. You take one of each and place your items on the tray. And grab as much stuff as you want. Proceed to the counter and pay. So i stumble upon this place on yelp. This place is in a shopping mall so it was hard to notice. The shopping mall was packed. As i entered this place i was impressed. It was big, modern, and clean. I went up to the dessert display and read how things where done. You had to get a tray, put a paper sheet on it, grab tongs, and shop around. It was like a dessert buffet with many things to choose from. Although most things where bread based, it looked yummy. After you select your things, you wait in line for them to ring and bag your things up. This was a pretty neat and cool experience. They had beautiful cakes displayed in the front as well. I wish their were more cake options. I spent $33 and bought a lemon strawberry pasty, strawberry cake, fruit tart, boston cream filled pastry roll, strawberry cake, chocolate cake, and chocolate lava cake. I love Paris Baguette! The pastries always taste amazing and I especially love the fruit tarts. My only complaint is that the method of ordering and choosing your pastries is pretty unsanitary. The food is out in the open without any sort of covering and people are expected to grab pastries using the little napkins. My parents found out about Paris Baguette recently and went a little bread crazy. Right before lunch, they thought it would be a great idea to get 5 different pastries to split. Dessert before lunch is definitely the way to go. Best thing about this place is they post the calories for every item. At least now I know how guilty I should feel when eating these delicious pastries and breads. Garlic Sweet Potato Pastry - what an interesting combination. Savory from the garlic and sweet from the sweet potato. I was initially confused at this flavor profile, but liked it in the end. (300 calories) Almond Cream Apple Pastry - Pretty much like an apple turnover. Not sure where the cream came in. But I don't like cream so this was good to me. (310 calories) Almond Pastry - Their rendition of an almond croissant. I don't really like fake almond flavoring, but this was delicious. No fake almond flavoring and all the flaky goodness. (380 calories) Green Tea Red Bean Pastry - Wasn't a huge fan of this one. Too much cream. (390 calories) Sweet Potato Bread - I like this one because the filling isn't too sweet. If you want something softer and bready get this instead of the pastries. (350 calories) My absolute favorite thing to get at Paris Baguette is the Pumpkin bread with black sesame seeds. So soft and fluffy. My trip to Paris Baguette is never complete without getting the pumpkin bread. Their cakes are perfect for a party. Unless you eat ginormous slices, the small one serves more than the 10-12 it advertises. For the cakes, I've tried the mocha buttercream, green tea chiffon, green tea blueberry cream, and cappacino buttercream. Favorite was definitely the mocha buttercream. read more

Located near Edison's H-Mart is Paris Baguette, one of a chain of bakeries in the New York/New Jersey area. Their name suggests a certain sophistication and this is partly reflected in their decor. High glass lets natural light penetrate into the interior. Outdoor seating with umbrellas recalls cafes from a scene in some spy movie set in Europe and the layout of the baked goods inside is bold and offers everything up to you on shelf after shelf of goodness. There are no big flappy doors thudding behind you as you put your confections on a tray. Instead, everything is open (but protected with guards, just not ones that flap open). Paris Baguette's offerings can be summed up thusly: beautiful, delicious and whimsical. Some of their baked goods are straight forward such as croissants and loaves of bread (including an incredibly delicious multi-grain bread with slices larger than your average supermarket loaf). Other items are just downright dangerous like their fried pastries with fillings (ranging from savory to sweet) or just downright fun like their "Squid Ink" bun with a hot dog sticking out the bottom that has been cut so there are faux "tentacles". If you want to see gorgeous, check out their cakes which are simply works of art in the form of a baked good. My personal favorite (visually, I haven't eaten it) is their "Butter Cookie" cake which takes "Royal Dansk" style cookies and strategically places them all over a decorated cake. I can say right now I have never had anything that wasn't delicious here. Their pastries are sweet and in some cases wonderfully savory. Their multi-grain bread is so amazing that I wish they were closer so I could by a loaf every week! I'm also a huge fan of their croissant ham and cheese sandwiches which are sweet and savory all at the same time. In terms of service, everyone at this bakery is super friendly and helpful. They're always willing to answer questions and were very patient with me when I asked about their "croissant donut ordering" policies...which leads me to... No review of Paris Baguette would be complete without mention of their croissant donut. Yes, they have their own version of the infamous "Cronut". I cannot compare the two as I have never had a Cronut, but I can tell you that this is one super rich dessert! Their version involves a lemon cream on top with lemon zest. It's beautiful and tastes good, but if you don't have a high tolerance for rich foods you probably won't want more than one. These tend to sell out before lunch time, so either get there super early or reserve your supply the day before. I really like this Paris Baguette and even though they're opening a couple in Manhattan, I think this one has a unique charm being out in the suburbs that they will be challenged to match. read more

I was looking for a good coffee after getting out of court last week and found myself in Edison at the shopping center with Paris Baguette anchoring the inner corner. Any time I read the two words, "Paris," and "Baguette," my mind returns to the heady romantic days as a student in Paris. There, I could walk across the street from my apartment and have the best bread and pastries from my neighborhood boulangerie. Yes. I was totally spoiled, but I learned the passion involved in the high art of baking and the concomitant desire to consume those incomparable creations. Reality here is that this shop is large and lovely, but has little to do with France, nor the quality of a boulangerie Parisienne. Yet, the pastries I tried were pretty good. My Apple Croissant was fresh, light and flaky. When considering that the products here are in the finest tradition of Japanese/Korean/Taiwanese bake shops, it is easier to understand the goal here. Fine bakery fare with quality hot drinks. In that it succeeds. It is only in the misnomer of alluding to a French connection where it falls short. But for the name calling attention to what they hope to aspire, the shortcomings would not be as noticeable. This café is a 4 Star rendition of the good bakeries found in Flushing and Rowland Heights, but when compared to a true French bakery, it suffers by the comparison it calls upon itself. read more

I really enjoyed this bakery, and a lot of my bookmarked places are actually in the same plaza, so now I know exactly where I am going. First of all the place is so clean and bright, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. You walk in, take a tray, take a tong, and grab whatever baked goods you would like, and there is a lot to choose from. They have Cronuts, macaroons, cake, shaved ice, cream puffs, and a large selection of coffee and tea. I had the green tea cake with strawberries and cream. The cake was perfect, so moist and light and the green tea flavor is light. The cream inside is a light not so sweet type. I don't love overpowering sweetness so this was really perfect for me. I literally found my perfect dessert. My husband did not enjoy his whatever he got, lol I forgot, but he only likes Italian pastries really so this was just not his cup of tea. I had a vanilla latte also that I really enjoyed. This is a chain and it is French influenced but it is more of a French influenced Asian bakery. There are a lot of bean buns, shaved ice, green tea flavored things, which is great don't get me wrong. Just don't come here expecting a ton of authentic French desserts. Have to share a funny story on the service: I went to the counter to pickup a cake my wife ordered the day before. Gave the name and phone number, the cashier looked in the stack of cakes in the back and behind him. Couldn't find it. It was a Blueberry Yogurt Cake. The cashier says to me that they don't have my cake and that I have to produce a receipt. My wife texts the receipt over to me, and at the same time I see a note posted with my wife's name and phone number. I point these things out to the cashier, and he offers me a Strawberry Chocolate Cake - I say to him - "That's not what I ordered." Then he says - "you're not supposed to pick up until 1pm." I say: "It's 12:50 - if you need more time just tell me I can wait 10 mins." He then says: "Look I don't work in that department." I say: "The department that is 1 foot away from you? It's the same store. If I need to wait 10 mins I can do that." I bought a hot dog and sat to wait. The cashier brought the cake over a few mins later and dropped it on the table I was sitting at. If they have less new items I would come here much less often but the new pastries/cakes keep me coming back. As delicious as it is cute! Huge fan of this Paris Baguette. Not only are the interiors adorable and dainty, but it is also incredibly clean inside. I've been here many times after a trip to the H-Mart or the Korean/hotpot restaurants in the same shopping strip. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a high ceiling with mirrors that reflect the interior below. The fresh baked goods are all neat and organized in shelves towards the center of the store, while packaged goods are placed in adjacent shelves and fridges. The employees have always been extremely friendly, and the place is always spotless whenever I go. The bakery is kept bright and the menu is organized and easy to read. The desserts are as absolutely delicious as they are pretty, and I'd recommend grabbing a slice of one of the beautifully designed cakes (they range anywhere from chocolate to berry to green tea/blueberry). When I went yesterday, I grabbed the cherry blueberry crumb (filled with peanut, cherry jam, and blueberry jam), which was just the right amount of sweet and fluffy. The baked goods, which span from macarons to hot dog pastries to croissants, are always fresh, moist, and light (three of the best words to describe everything they sell). I'd also recommend grabbing the iced milk tea with bubbles or any of the smoothies with bubbles! I'm picky when it comes to milk tea, but PB definitely makes the cut. My family brought me here earlier today so I could choose my own birthday cake. I was leaning towards Tous Les Jours since I know someone who buys cake there often (and keeps it all to herself!), but I opted for this bakery instead. The pastry section is "open," meaning they're all organized on trays without glass hovering over them or anything you have to lift. Everyone here is also very friendly and welcoming. Creme Brulee Bombol and Coffee Cream Bombol ($1.75/ea): These are awesome! The coffee cream really tastes like coffee, but it isn't overpowering. However, my favorite one is the creme brulee. It reminds me of a cream puff but much more decadent and rich. Blueberry Yogurt Cronut ($3.50): I've never had a cronut prior to today, but now I understand why there was so much hype around them. The yogurt cream inside the cronut was probably my favorite part of this, since it has a strong blueberry flavor but only a subtle sweetness. Curry Croquette ($2.50): These remind me of the curry croquettes I used to buy at the Hamby night market in Okinawa. Each croquette is fried well, but retains its light crispiness. The curry is tasty, but I would've liked a curry that was a bit more flavorful. It was very mild. Sweet Red Bean Donut ($2.15): These are similar to the croquette, but with a different filling. The sweet red bean is good and does not taste like the canned stuff. Like everything else, this is not excessively sweet, which makes me happy. Chocolate Chip Scone ($2.40): I am not fond of scones, but these were pretty good. They are dense, moist, and have a light sweetness. The chocolate chips add just a hint of chocolate without overpowering the scone itself. Green Tea Chiffon ($36): This is the birthday cake I chose and it was the right choice! I was actually looking for the strawberry green tea cake, but how can you turn down chiffon? The green tea flavoring is light, but you can still taste it in the green frosting and in the chiffon itself. It is topped with two macarons, a couple of blueberries, and a sliced strawberry on top. Of course, the cream between each layer of cake is enough to win me over. I would definitely order this again! I've been to similar bakeries around Asia and the prices are actual pretty similar; everything here is reasonably priced. What a creative idea! If you've ever been to Au Bon Pain it will slightly remind you of there based on the layout. When you walk in, you grab a tray and tongs and walk around to the stations to get whatever parties you want. There are also sandwiches - turkey avocado, egg salad, and a few more - and salads. The party selection is overwhelming in a good way. There is a whole section with cakes and then a variety of things from croissants to cheese filled donuts. There is a whole coffee bar option with things from shaved iced to regular coffee. There are plenty of tables, wifi, and a good space for groups because you can move tables together. They have a large selection of pastries but noticed most are some sort of croissant, either with a different nut or fruit or filling. The pastries I tried this time were (not all in one sitting): - Cronut with lemon cream filling - great flavor and flaky crispiness but a bit greasy - almond raspberry croissant - really liked the almond raspberry filling - pineapple square pastry - pineapple flavor was too weak. Not my favorite - donut filled with red bean - greasy but liked the red bean donut combo - red bean bun - bread was soft/fresh I made the mistake thinking they sell bubble tea. They only offered regular milk bubble tea or taro. So must not be that good. Opted for the black sesame latte which was alright, but wasn't crazy about it. Basically powdered sesame powder mixed with hot milk. Probably go with a tea next time. As far as service, it was standard but helpful. Yes, you heard it right this place is like no other bakery that I have been to. The place is grand and very contemporary. When you walk in you get taken away by the most exotic looking baked goods. Grab your bamboo tray and tongs, as you mind is not able to decide what you want to get. I had some savory pastries garlic sweet potato and sweet cream strawberry cake.
