Love this place. Located in Dorsey Hall Village Center not to far from the grocery store. There's plenty of parking. They helped me ship a FedEx package just as they were closing. The owner is friendly & very helpful. If you are wondering what the plus is for... it's for everything. They have cards, toiletries, stuffed animals, calendars. It has a mom & pop feel to it. Charged $100 for overnight shipping. Took four days to ship my wallet to me and barely got it before I drove back home! Went in to complain but Dave took no responsibility. Said he would check into it and get back to me, but of course I heard nothing. I found out later that USPS only charges around $40 for the same service. Having use this place over the years I thought Dave was a really nice guy However I sent two packages on 12/05/20. One package was sent to my son in Pennsylvania and the other to my daughter in Florida. I paid $48.21 to have them arrived in two to three days. After a week had passed I went back to Parcel Plus only to get the tracking number from Dave. To my surprise I sent the packages through UPS. The tracking numbers I received from Dave was for the United States Postal Office, the cheapest way possible. I confronted Dave about this and He refunded me the $48.21. Two week later the packages still hadn't arrived. The package I sent to my daughter was insured for three hundred dollars through UPS. Since Dave changed the shipping to the post office there was no insurance. I spoke with Dave about this and he gave me a check for $150.00. My daughter finally received her phone on 1/12/2021 a month and a week later. Dave lacks character and ethics ( He is a crook). Because of his actions my daughter lost a job she recently secured because because she missed communication with her employer. I will never do business there again. They have a great supply of small gift items for sale. I have gotten a lot of great items for stocking stuffers for Christmas, excellent books, beautiful stationary, and funny greeting cards. I got a quote for my overseas package over the phone prior to my ship date. Dave was patient with my unorganized large order and packed it all up and processed my shipment quickly. I do not recommend Parcel Plus nor do I recommend FEDEX for shipping precious items. For an eBay sale, I shipped a high dollar camera lens via FEDEX using this Parcel Plus facility. I paid over $400 to insure the item in addition to shipping fees, plus I required a signature. It was projected to arrive within 4 days. When I checked a week later, the tracking number indicated that the item was still at a CVS in Texas awaiting pickup. However, the purchaser indicated via email that he had picked the item up from that CVS. The lack of a delivery confirmation stopped eBay from releasing the significant sale funds to me from PayPal for the next month. During that period, I called FEDEX to get them to confirm the delivery so I could get my sale funds released. Their (unhelpful) contact told me to file a claim. I did file a claim while waiting for my sale funds to be released from eBay hoping to accelerate the funds release. FEDEX writes that they resolve most claims within a week. What they don't say is that they let the claims sit for 2 weeks before acting on them. At the very least, I expected a refund of the insurance fees. I provided all kinds of pictures and purchase invoice documentation and FEDEX nearly instantly denied it, saying that David, the Parcel Plus owner had to file the claim. I contacted David and provided all of the documentation yet again for him to file the claim instead. When he went to file a new claim, FEDEX told him to reference my (denied) claim instead. Bottom line, according to FEDEX records, 3 months later the lens is still at the CVS despite the FEDEX policy that unclaimed items are returned after 5 days. I contacted David weekly about the status of the claim before Christmas and he seemed to care about resolving the issue. Then at Christmas, he said he was too busy and would address the issue after Christmas. Post Christmas, David has stopped responding and has not resolved the claim. I informed him I would be posting this review. Do not pay insurance to FEDEX, do not pay extra fees to David, and certainly do not expect him to resolve any shipping issues. I wasted a lot of extra money for absolutely no guarantee or benefit from him or FEDEX. They cannot be counted on to provide the service that they charge significant extra fees for. read more

When I arrived at Parcel Plus yesterday afternoon the worker(assuming owner/manager) claimed to not have room for my large packages, which is fine because I could see there was no room available. He told me to come the next morning when there is more room available. When I went this morning, there was lots of room available for my packages but he still sent me away. My experience with Parcel Plus was very frustrating. Why would he tell me to come back if he couldn't take my packages? I could've gone somewhere else first and saved my time. Never going there again--horrible customer service. read more

This place is a rip off! Unfortunately, only half of my label printed at home and the associate working told me it would be 5.00 to use the computer to print another label and .50 for the print. Took my package to the nearest UPS store they allowed to print another label for FREE! read more

For a place that's getting these bad reviews, it sure stays busy. I don't mean the store is mobbed, but there always seems to be a steady stream of people coming and going. I've always been greeted with a smile even though I'm usually just there to drop off a return from an online purchase. When it hasn't been a prepaid return, I've never felt gouged on the cost and have never been charged for taping and attaching the label. I work in Ellicott City so, unfortunately, it's only convenient for me when I'm at work. I wish there was a store like this in my neighborhood. read more

I was ripped off today. I took in box from US post office to this place it's a $18.75 size box no matter weight. I was not sure the price but when he said $32.42 I said how much do you charge to mail it he said nothing. I said I think it's cheaper if I take it to post office he said it will be the same, I hesitated but thought I was wrong and it was going to my sister who was is deployed. Anyway I took his word and paid I went to post office and was told that was a flat rate of $18.75, I could not believe this guy lied to my face and charged me almost $14 extra. It did not need to be packed nothing just mailed. I'm ok with him making a couple dollars but $14 and lied to me. That's not good business that's crooked business. Not cool!!! Stay away. read more

Dave (the owner) seems like a nice guy, but I don't agree with his pricing policies. For example, he charges $5 for "accessing the computer fee" for printing a PDF file in addition to the cost of a one page print. On a positive note, you can drop off your taped and labeled UPS and Fedex boxes for free (for now at least). Also Dave is a notary in case you need documents notarized. read more

I only gave 1 star because zero was not an option. Avoid this place. We were over-charged for shipping a small, less-than 1 lb. package to FL via UPS Ground. We were charged $29.00 which at the time I thought was accessive. When I accessed the UPS website, the cost was actually $10.72 for th same size, weight and Ground shipping. I'll pay a little extra for the small town feel of this place. Dave greets regulars by name and provides excellent service. Dropped off a package yesterday and have no worries that it'll get where it needs to be. This is the kind of store that epidermises the concept of the Columbia Village Center. Drove a bit out of my way to try a new shipping location. Big mistake stepping into this store. I presented two padded envelopes that needed to be taped shut (6" of tape per envelope) and was advised that there would be a $1 charge per envelope to tape them shut. 12" of cellophane tape for $2? Methinks not. When I asked why, the clerk advised me that they do not make any money when customers bring their own envelopes, so the must charge to tape the envelope shut. Needless to say, I left the store with my packages and headed to the nearest UPS store, where they do not charge to tape an envelope shut! read more

I DO NOT recommend this store. Dave charged a friend $42.81 for a small package that would have cost $20.22 at a UPS store (verified by UPS corporate). After the fact I asked Dave why his price was twice the UPS price. He told me that he is an independently owned store and can charge whatever he wants. Outrageous! read more

This place is run by new owners who are crooks! I paid $86 to ship two small boxes that weighed 4.6 lbs and 1.9 lbs. I thought that cost seemed excessive so I called UPS and they told me my cost at the UPS Store would have been $45.92 ($40 less in cost!). The Parcel Plus owner, Dave, admitted they have a 100% markup on their shipping! Also, I paid for extra insurance on both packages. UPS has no record of the extra insurance. That is because this Parcel Plus says they have their extra insurance through a separate company. Therefore, if my packages get lost or damaged, I need to go through Parcel Plus (as opposed to UPS) for reimbursement! I did not receive any type of official UPS receipt for this shipping (like you receive at UPS, and like I used to receive from the former owner of this Parcel Plus)! I have nothing to show what I shipped, who I shipped it to, and that I paid for extra insurance. When I asked for a receipt, I was told I would receive an email with the UPS tracking numbers. Kyle (the worker who waited on me) told me to use my phone to take a picture if I needed an immediate receipt. Beware of this Parcel Plus store at Dorsey Hall - they are CROOKS! read more
