The absolute worst experience ever! Bob Brooks lost his mind after my wife and I sat in his office for over an hour at 8 pm and he had still not even come up with a car that matched what we wanted. It seemed he was stalling for time as he searched the computer. When we said, we needed to leave in 20-25 more minutes if he didn't come up with a car for us to review. he lost it! He said he does take Ultimatums and he didn't work under pressure. He actually got up and walked out of the office. WORST EXPERIENCE ever. His managers equally horrible. Spoke to Charmaine and she told me that they had several cars at the $39 lease special. So I drove an hour to get to the dealership. Then the switch from $39 to $189. The Trax lease was only 1 car at that price and it was sold because I got there. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

Mine is an unusual experience... I was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune this spring and was lucky enough to win a Chevy Sonic! I was so incredibly excited, and naturally having no experience in these matters had no idea HOW a car would come to show up in my driveway, particularly because I'm in New Jersey and the prize was awarded through a Chevy dealership in California. Once the ball started rolling, George Chevrolet in Los Angeles told me they'd be arranging my pick up through a local dealership, which turned out to be Paramus Chevrolet. My biggest fear was that this might become a nightmare experience. Figured since "nothing was in it" for Paramus Chevrolet that the service I'd receive would be average at best, so I set my standards pretty low. From there, my husband took the reigns. He was put in touch with a man named Ron Barna at Paramus Chevrolet. With no hesitation, Ron whisked us through how this unusual transaction would unfold. He was in fact SUCH a professional, it seemed like he'd done this a hundred times before which was very relieving for us. He arranged the entire operation, taking his own valuable time to do so, keeping in mind there is nothing monetary in it for him. This took several conversations on his part to assemble, both with George Chevrolet in LA, and with us. The day came to pick up our car last week. We had an appointment to meet with Ron at Paramus Chevrolet. Upon arrival, the energy at Paramus Chevrolet was positive and vitalizing, and though while everyone seemed to be working on something, smiles were generous and "hellos" and "good mornings" were sincere. Without a wasted second, Ron received us into his office where he had all the paperwork laid out to execute. With laughs and a light atmosphere, the process was fast and uncomplicated since Ron did all the legwork. Never had we experienced such capability with a car dealer. It was in his office when we learned that Ron is the OWNER of Paramus Chevrolet. Needless to say, my husband and I were floored. This man took time from his busy schedule to arrange this, nothing at all for his gain. THIS is a sign of excellence no matter what field one works in. Furthermore, this explained why the entire vibe of this dealership was exceptional... trickles down from the top. Ron congratulated me on my good fortune on the game show then turned us over to an employee who walked us through all the bells and whistles of the car. I was inquiring about 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE SUV. I called in advance for appointment. One of sales rep, George came and we went through basic routines including checking physical condition and test drive. As we came back to office after test drive, we're negotiating on price, little bit of back and forth, and finally we reached on price. Then he took me to one of finance manager, Wil. I explained him about my financing plan. He ran my credit application, and he gave me a number(APR). I asked if he can come up with better number. He didn't hesitate, but called lender right away, and come up with better number (APR). I left some deposit, and was told that car can be ready to pick up few days later. On my pick up day, my sales rep, George came to me and handed me over OEM paint scratch market, and told me that he stopped by Toyota dealer in the morning to get it for me. I was very impressed by his kindness. Again, as I sat down with Wil, finance manager, everything was ready as he told me, and all transaction was completed in about 10 minutes. As I came out to parking to drive away my car, car was completely cleaned, and was very happy about it. In overall, I was very impressed about the way these two gentlemen. I never have had this kind of easy transaction at car dealer before. So I would recommend this Paramus Chevrolet dealer. read more

Avoid the service department for repairs. My corvette was trashed inside and out. Carpets were greased up. Door panels and other areas were scuffed up. Interior reeked because they left the windows open for weeks while it was being repaired. The entire interior was covered in a thick layer of dirty dust and overall interior reeks of an oily shop. Not to mention the exterior was just as bad and they actually delivered the car to me in this condition. They eventually "Detailed" the vehicle which consisted of a half A$$ wipe down with some greasy dressing. The mats were vacuumed and not even shampoo cleaned. They really pay attention to the "details" (note my sarcasm). It was also delivered with faulty oil pressure gauge on the first delivery attempt which was not broken prior to arrival. On the second delivery attempt, the traction control button wasn't hooked up, rusty bolts re-used (when I payed for new) and the list goes on. I'm sure all find more faults as I continue to investigate. I also specifically asked for other work to be completed and it wasn't and the car is leaking from the front end when I told them to take care of any other abnormalities covered under warranty, (which it would have been). For a nearly $5K repair bill you'd at least expect your car to be taken cared for and not treated like a excavator. This seems to be common practice at Chevy dealers in the area as a I had a similar experience at another. If you are reading this Paramus Chevy, I want a refund for the poor workmanship. Your corvette mechanic should be fired. read more

Simply the most painless car buying experience I've ever had. Robert Bozzo was patient, allowing my elderly Father to test drive three different vehicles. The result was he ended up with the car that fit his needs the best. Robert answered all of our questions and listened to all of our needs. What can i say about my experience with this dealership.....sigh....well, not much. I had visited this dealership 10 years ago and it was depressing then and it was depressing on my recent visit. The sales people,if you can call them that, stand around like some zombies from a horror movie. No one is friendly or engaging. Let me get to the story. I came in looking for an SUV, there were two guys standing near the middle of the showroom near what i guess is the meet and greet area but no one said anything till i had to ask if someone could help me. Some guy with a beard and with lethargic expression came to me. He proceeded to take me to his depressing cubicle and get info from me. I told him specifically that i wanted to test drive a certain model and trim level. He did as little as possible in talking and asked me to wait. After about 5 min he comes back to take outside to test drive the vehicle. Upon getting in and trying to adjust the seat, i discovered he brought out and LS. Not an LT that i specifically asked for. There was no power seats to adjust nor on the steering column. I should have stopped him there and asked him to get what i asked to test but since i was more interested in how it felt to drive i accepted this model to test. During the whole short time to test drive, this guy did not say anthing unless i asked. He did absolutely nothing in trying to SELL the vehicle. We finally got back to the lot. I asked to see some LT's and he directed me to the back. The selection was poor. I asked the "sales person" a question on the seats and he actually said he did not know the answer. We had to go to the test model and go and look to get the answer. How do you sell a product when you dont have the answer to a basic question? I left the lot disappointed. By the way, never got a follow up call like i did from the Honda dealership sales person and the Infinity dealeship sales person. Won't go back to this dealership again. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Bought New car battery end of January 2014, which did not start on multiple occasions. When brought back to dealer, they insisted that it was because a GPS which was OFF, was plugged into the AC adapter and drained the battery. Did not make sense because that GPS is kept in the AC for 3 + years! They kept car 2 days to arrive at this conclusion. I had battery and alternator tested at an independent, expert garage; and the alternator was fine, but the battery would not hold a high enough charge- defective. I issued a charge back to American Express for the $200 + I was charged for them to keep the car for two days. I will now send a letter/fax to dealer demanding a new battery, and reversal of the above charge. The independent only inspected the car on Feb. 28, 2014, so we will see how Paramus Chevrolet responds when they get the letter next week. BTW, I "chatted" with Chevrolet online, and they were of no help- they only called the dealer and then told me dealer said it was a new battery, nothing else they could do. Chevrolet refused to provide me contact info for the zone manager. I will never again go to Paramus Chevrolet. Too bad for them, as we paid them many hundreds of dollars over the years, simply for the convenience of getting (IMHO, overpriced) service and repairs nearby. read more

I have been taking my car for service to Paramus Chevrolet for 6 years. I purchased my car here. The only person who knows what he's doing in the service department is Tom. I would give 5 stars if it was only him. He is very knowledgeable patient & professional. He is the only one who seems to know what they are talking about & explains in detail without an attitude. I wish I could only deal with him. However every time I come here it's a different person & a different policy. I understand that things change but Right off the bat they come across as negative & seem to only be concerned with $ & rushing you out. The mechanics are very good. read more

Earlier today I just spent over three hours in court and was forced to pay a $54 fine in addition to $33 dollars in court fees because Paramus Chevrolet installed an illegal license plate bracket on a vehicle that I purchased from them. They installed a license plate bracket that covered the words garden state on my license plate. It is absolutely disgusting that this dealership installs license plate brackets on your car that are illegal and will earn you a ticket. I am very dissatisfied and digusted by this manner. read more

Make sure they tell you about cancelation fees on leases. Because I didn't re-up with them to lease a new vehicle, got hit with almost $400 in termination fees to end a lease that had actually ended on it's own. And don't try asking their sales staff any questions, all they want to do is push cars out the door. I have gotten a couple cars from here over the years.... But never again. read more

The sales person was great but the dealership does not stand behind their cars...Bought a brand new suburban and have had issues from day one the dealership does not want to hear it and TH (the service dept mgr) is a jerk for lack of any better word--he's a menacing bully who told me he would call the police and have me removed if I did not take my car and leave --I'm 5 feet tall he's about 6 feet tall---I was telling him I didn't feel comfortable driving the car with all the issues it was having ---the owner of the dealership responded by coming out of his office and yelling at me to leave as he called the police---I am still driving a $70K lemon and they couldn't care less read more

I dropped my car off with Moises today for my 1pm appt for brakes. At 5:15, I called to check on it. Service is open til 7pm. I was told that Moises had already left for the day, without ever letting me know what what was up with my car. They tracked down Tom, who was able to tell me that NO ONE EVER EVEN LOOKED AT MY CAR TODAY. The sad part?The last time I had my car serviced at Paramus Chevy, the SAME THING happened. Execpt it was a Friday. So I was told my car would be taken care of on Saturday. Until it wasn't. And then, service was closed on Sunday. On Monday, I had to work with the head guy, who asked me to let Patamus Chevy earn back my trust and business. He is no longer there. Came in for a oil change and tire rotation, stated it would take one hour, which is unusual given that i went on a weekday at offpeak hours. Checked in with Tom McLoughlin at service after an hour and a half and stated they didnt even start, meanwhile 3 others that came after me got their car serviced and done before mine. The dealership is like any other, full of salesman willing to "help" but none that actually add value. I went in to the dealer at the end of December and was greeted by a sales guy, who for all intents and purposes was sufficient. He knew enough about the car and it's features, but he knew very little more than I could easily find on the net with one Google search. I had gone to the dealership through Costco and got pretty good pricing as a result. I am happy with what I am paying, and although some of the features are disappointing, the car is great (Traverse 2LT). The dealership was to make the last 3 payments of my current lease. The sales person told me a check would be cut and I could pick it up soon. when I arrived, weeks later to collect the check, I was informed that the dealership had instead sent the check to the Leaser, and now I had also made my monthly payment. The salesperson played dumb, like he had no idea. After 10 minutes of useless back and forth, I screamed like a maniac (mostly for effect) and they cut me a check for the payment I had made. When I bring the previous car in at the end of the lease I will get a refund for the overpayment and will give the dealer back the money. So in the end, the dealership is ok. Not great. He did a great job explaining the lease options and answered all her questions. He is a good guy, I was there to watch out for her to make sure she got a fair shake. I need not have worried about it. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because it took a long time to get with the finance paperwork person. To be fair it is Labor Day weekend and the place was packed but we were there a long time. I just went in to lease my first car. Wandered around a bit, and then had to find a person to help me. I was happy not to be jumped on when I first walk in. Mo was very nice, straight forward and did not waste my time. I am not a patient person, so I appreciated not having to sit and wait for too long. I went during a sale they were having, and they seemed pretty busy. I was happy with my buying experience. I bought a pre-owned Chevy previously from this deanship as well. I must admit that I have not been the happiest with their mechanic services in the past. I have always found them a bit on the rude side. We shall see how that pans out in the future. read more

What a great, fun buying experience! I called in spoke to someone on the phone and she very kindly set up an appointment with a sales rep. I showed up to the dealership to be greeted by my sales rep Bob Brooks. I was looking for a 2016 Camaro SS but unfortunately they didn't have the one I wanted in stock, Bob assured my not to get discouraged, and he can get me the car and the color combo I wanted. After only about 5 mins of waiting he came back with great news, he came straight back with a bottom line number that I couldn't pass up. No haggle no trouble, it was truly a very aggressive number! We then went on a long tests drive where Bob showed us all the great features and all the options the car was equipped with. After we departed he told me he will get back to me and make sure he can get me this specific car I wanted. He got back to me the very next day with great news and I came In 2 days later to take delivery of my Camaro. He then showed me though my vehicle and all the options and I was on my way after less than an hour, no hidden cost the price I was told was the price I payed. Thank you Bob Brooks! read more

BEWARE OF GM CERTIFIED PRE OWNED!! THIS means NOTHING. I recently purchased two vans from Paramus Chevrolet. One new and the other 2011 Certified Pre Owned with 2,750 miles on it. Sounds great right? My partner whom is a senior citizen took position of the vehicle which is normally my job but I was out of town opening an out of state office. When I returned I found this what I expected to be virtually a new vehicle had rusted and smelly seats out of a 2000-2003 van covered with seat covers, and the floor padding was replaced with home carpeting padding and lumpy. After contacting the salesmen who told me "you bought what you bought" and was unwilling to do anything about it. . I contacted the previous owner who told me that he lost his entire fleet in a flood. Now he would not elaborate once I told him I purchased this van. I contacted GM about their certified program they told me that the vehicle met the criteria for certified pre owned. REALY??? ARE THEY SERIOUS??? Are these rusty old seat is tied into the air bag or seat belt system? If so is it safe. Are the seats out of a flood vehicle? Or is this one of his flood vehicles? I do not know. What I do know is that I am retaining a lawyer and will return to this blog with the outcome. read more

I purchased my car about two weeks ago. The experience was great! I'm a first time car buyer and I was afraid that the salesmen would try to hard sell me. However everyone I met at the dealership was extremely nice. Jake Brecher was my sales consultant and he was knowledge, courteous, and above all not pushy. When I picked up the car he spent a long time explaining all the features of the car and showing me how everything worked...which was nice because while I like reading the car manuals I also just want to know where everything is and how it all works. I used to love the service there, but my experience in early December 2014. I made an appointment and the service writer(John) never called me, I had to rent a car. The next morning he called me and told me the things I needed, I told them to do half of them. My truck wasn't done again, day 2 with the rental. When he called me to come and get the truck he told me he would take 1 day of the rental off the bill but I didn't see it. read more

I had a decent experience but it was not ideal. I called to get an update on my car and was placed on hold for 9 minutes before I hung up. When I called back, I left a message on an answering machine. With no call back, I was forced to stop into the dealership to discover that my car was not ready. I was mostly ok with this inconvenience. When I picked up my car though after a few days, I found one of my notebooks on the floor (it was originally on the seat) was completely soaked through and ruined. I'm not sure how this happened but I suspect it was due to my windows being open and left outside in the rainstorm that occurred while the dealership had my car. This notebook was integral to my work and I did not appreciate the lack of respect shown to my belongings. read more
