Turned out to be a tripped breaker that wasn't obvious because of the safety bracket on the breaker. Wanted to convert an outdoor CFL fixture to LED. Instead of selling me a much bigger job, they explained I could simply use LED bulbs that plug into the existing CFL sockets. What could've easily turned into a several hundred dollar bill ended up being around $100. Really appreciate companies that still do right by their customers instead of looking for every opportunity to upsell. Great communication, honest advice, and quality work. Highly recommend.

Case in point, we've had several people try to locate the mystery location of our 30 year old home's doorbell transformer though we insisted 2 places it likely was. I needed a kitchen light switch fixed and contacted Eric based on previous YELP reviews. When I…read morecalled mid day he informed me that he only did the automobile plugin stuff but asked where I lived and if the light switch was the only thing I needed fixed. When I said Lake Forest and yes to the only thing needing a fix, he said he would come by in about an hour. When he came he immediately went to work on the switch and in less than a minute the lights were back on, but the lights were flashing on and off. This was a problem before the lights stopped coming on altogether. He switched some of the light bulbs with other working lights in the hallway and they worked in the kitchen and began flashing in the hallway. To that, Eric determined that the flashing lightbulbs were "crap", recommended getting some new light bulbs to replace those that flashed. It wasn't the switch that was faulty but the lights themselves. Eric said that he would not charge me anything for his work that day which was so generous and appreciated by me. You don't find people like that anymore. As it turns out he has family living in my neighborhood. He also gave me some advice on another outdoor light that we are repairing. Can't say enough good things about Eric.

This will be long but worth the read. I had a SunPower system installed in 2008 and at the time there was no real time monitoring or battery options as there is today. The system worked fine, but over the last couple years my bills started increasing drastically. I checked the system and everything showed operational, however 1 of my 2 inverters showed no production even though all lights indicated things were OK. In April of 2023 I contacted SunPower for service as I was still under their warranty. I was told that the inverters were no longer in warranty and that the panels were subject to a 30% degradation and would only be replaced if under that number. I fought with them and they finally came out, inspected the inverters and determined they were fine and there were no issues. A second inspection would now be needed and that took several more months for unknown reasons that I know now was because they went bankrupt. The second inspection found I had 1 fried panel and SunPower agreed to replace that IF they could find a replacement since they no longer make the panels. As for the inverter, they found the one was actually defective and clearly fried inside. Why the status light was still green and not red, no one could give me an answer or how this was missed on the first inspection. SunPower no longer produced the inverter and if they had a used one, it was $3500 with a 1 year warranty. I found a used one locally and installed it myself and the system now worked. As for the panel, they got me a larger one that would still fit in my mounting system. The system was working, but was not producing anything near what it used to. In order to have the below 30% degradation checked, it would be at my expense, having each panel tested or sent to an off site location for a true test. No one would do the onsite test that SunPower would recognize. It was at this time I decided to look into a replacement system. I called a few local installers and getting pricing or a return call was a challenge. I did find a local installer who told me that he would just replace the system and put on a larger size array using Enphase equipment. He would not pull permits and said that Southern California Edison would never know as I was still on NEM 1.0 with about 5 years left. He was also using pressure tactics to get me to do the system now as prices would increase in days or product was running low. The red flags were raised so I did additional bids for the same equipment. Take in mind it was for a 7kwh system with no batteries. I found ParagonSun as an authorized Enphase installer and called. I spoke with Cori, explained my SunPower situation and what I would like to do and asked her what my options were. Cori took the time to give me several options with replacement only as my system was old technology and virtually no one supports it any longer. The other issue was how much time was really left before it would fail again and again. Cori took the time and was patient with no pressure tactics at all. What I was most impressed with her was when I called, and I called a lot, she answered the phone. When she didn't, I would send a text and she would call me back that same day. There were times when she would call the next day, but I would always get a call back. It took some time and I went from panels only, to panels and batteries to finally the whole system with panels, batteries and battery backup. When all said and done, the price that we came to for the complete system was the same as the initial quote for panels only from the local installer. Needless to say I was being ripped off by the initial installer and I went with Cori. Cori kept me up to date with the process and permits needed. She handled it all with little involvement from me other than signatures and confirmation of what was going to be done. The system went in smoothly with a couple of minor Enphase issues that were resolved. The next hurdle was SCE and keeping my NEM 1.0 as promised since we followed the guidelines as laid out. Cori was a stickler to following the rules with SCE and I agreed with her. Even with doing everything with SCE, it took months for SCE to finally grant me permission to operate under NEM 1.0. If it was not for Cori and her team doing everything asked, especially on the backend after being paid in full for the system, I would never have been granted my NEM1.0 authorization. SCE has made the system difficult to say the least to file the appropriate paperwork. Time after time they said we needed to make corrections and Cori made those corrections. After several months of the back and forths and being denied, I was told that we should have filed the paperwork this way. I called Cori while on the phone with SCE and she once again answered my unexpected call. We did a three way and Cori explained that everything I was just told was how she originally filed the paperwork and all changes after were at read more

We just completed our installation about a month ago at our home in Tustin, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation. From day one, Cori and her team were professional, communicative, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made a process that could easily feel overwhelming incredibly smooth and stress-free. PARAGON SUN is the only solar company you SHOULD need to contact. They started the solar installation on a Tuesday 8/7/18 and completed the installation that afternoon!!! Fast and efficient, and sytem turned on. Follow on inspection with the City was completed the following day. Immediately thereafter, all required paperwork were submitted to SCE and permission to operate (PTO) was approved by SCE on 8/9/18. Less than a day approval process. Other company normally takes 1 week or more to get approval from the utility company. I recently completed an upgrade of my 15 year old solar system at my home in Los Angeles and utilized Paragon Sun for the project. Unlike a new install, there were challenges with my aging system that required merging my two separate systems into one. Paragon Sun planned everything in detail, and ordered all the hardware to insure compatibility. The system included a battery, combiner, and system controller. The project was designed to code and Paragon submitted the proposal to LADWP which issued a permit in approximately six weeks. The actual install was done by two very friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced technicians. The job took 3 days. I can now follow my solar production daily on a sophisticated app on my iPhone. The solar company that I had originally contracted to install my solar went BK right after they installed my panels. They were not able to get my final inspection card which I needed to submit to SCE. I spent 2 years trying to litigate against them but to no avail. I ended up connecting with Cori from ParagonSun and she guided me through the permit process with the city and how to get my solar plans updated so I could finish the permit process as the homeowner. So I am happy to say we just got our final inspection and our system is now fully permitted. I could not have finished the permit process and plans submittal process without her help. Then all of a sudden when we ran into issues they refused to communicate with him claiming their contract was only with me even though dealing with him was the only way to fix the issue. After we decided to move forward, the process was handled professionally from start to finish. Nick helped dial in the system design and made sure everything made sense for our home, and Mark oversaw the install side and kept things moving smoothly. The crew showed up when they said they would, treated our home with care, and cleaned up at the end of each day, which we really appreciated. Permitting and inspections were handled by the team and communicated the steps along the way. There were no surprises. Kelly was especially helpful keeping us in the loop and responding quickly whenever we had questions, which made the whole process feel far less stressful than we expected going in. Overall, NetZero Energy felt like a company that values doing things the right way and standing behind their work. We are happy with the install, the communication, and the end result, and would feel comfortable recommending them to friends or family who are considering solar.

They sent me a new tracking app to join last year so I could share my system information with them, which leads me to believe they weren't tracking the system the way they said they would be. The data it shared is the same data I had already communicated with them.

When I made my decision, they took care of all the permits with the city and with Southern California Edison. We were ready to go within a matter of days. The install was painless, and the system was up and running before we knew it. Upon completion, the owner provided us with an app to track production and consumption in real time, so we can be sure everything is operating as it should. Unlike other companies, which apparently ghost you as soon as you've paid your money, SunSolar continues to reach out. They assured me that they're with us for the lifetime of the system, and everything so far bears that out. It's been a fantastic experience all around. There's a reason SunSolar's Yelp reviews are so high: they do everything they can to earn them! If you're thinking about solar, spare yourself the grief, agony, and distress that you read about in reviews of other companies. Go with the company that has proven itself, day-in and day-out, for over a decade.

It felt like I was the project manager all the time, following up on schedule, and then calling to verify. I had a feeling that the teams are split and everyone only does their job based on a scope and not as a team. Sometimes, I just want the truth on timing.... Bc Everytime I get a timing commitment, it's delayed and or no show and then also no updates. The project is still on-going with skirting, commissioning wasn't even done , painting of pipes/conduits... so will update accordingly. 8/6/26 : the team swiftly came the next day and finished painting and commissioning so I will add a star. 8/12/26: Just had a constructive discussion with Dayne and Savannah -- overall very positive. While my earlier frustrations were real, the conversation helped me better understand the complexities of the contractor side of the business. I also came away feeling that OC Solar genuinely puts care and attention into each project. The project isn't fully complete yet (inspections, skirting, and a few other items remain), but the overall execution moved at lightning speed and exceeded my own expectations. At the end of the day, it's the final result that counts so I will increase it to 5 stars.

Across the street, friends with solar and batteries had their lights on. Their kids were inside watching TV. Life looked normal. Meanwhile, I was packing up my family to leave our home. Rising electricity rates, AI data centers consuming massive amounts of power, and talk of double digit rate increases made going solar the right thing to do. I researched heavily. Built a spreadsheet. Interviewed over a dozen companies. Got bids through Energy Sage, cold called installers, and asked around for referrals. I wasn't looking for a sales pitch. I was looking for people I could trust with my home and my family's security. Infinity Solar felt different from the start. I didn't have to deal with brokers or middlemen to jack up prices. They are family owned, in business over 25 years, BBB A+ rated, and 5 stars on Yelp. Tim, the owner is a C10 licensed contractor, sets the tone for the entire company. His pride and commitment to doing things right shows up in every person on his team. Sara, our project manager, kept everything organized with clear, proactive communication. Blake handled the maze of permitting. If you've dealt with solar permitting in California you know what a mess it is. State, county, city, and fire department all with their own rules. Blake stayed on top of all of it so I didn't have to. Joel made sure the job site ran smoothly. The crew deserves real recognition: electricians Adrian, Ivan, Salvador, and Christian; roof lead Arni; installers Jose, Gabriel, Kieren, Israel, Erik, and Robert; and Deyvis helping with inspection. They showed up on time, worked hard, kept everything clean, and answered my endless questions without ever making me feel like I was in the way. Construction always has bumps. Permits get revised, inspectors want changes. What mattered was how Infinity handled it. Calmly, professionally, and without disappearing. Tim must be a good boss and take care of his people because this is a crew of highly skilled workers who take real pride in what they do. The day the system went live felt like a turning point. Our first outage was December 23rd while setting up for a Christmas party. Power was out over eight hours. The lights never flickered. I only knew because the app alerted me. Tim included a Solar Insure 30 year warranty covering panels, microinverters, wiring, and roof penetrations, including labor. It's backed by an A+ Superior rated third party insurer and is transferable if I sell my home. An installer's warranty is useless if they go out of business, so this gives real peace of mind. Because I verify everything, I called Solar Insure, Enphase, FranklinWH, and REC directly to confirm Infinity is a Premium or Platinum installer with each. They are. I'll break even in 8 years at current rates, sooner when rates keep climbing, and you know they will. But more than savings, it's peace of mind. When the grid goes down, our house doesn't. Infinity Solar gave our family back a sense of stability. I'm grateful we chose them.

Uday really invested months into this project to help me figure out what was wrong: parts that needed to be replaced, one panel that was no longer working, pinched wires, etc. After the third error read that kept returning, he and his team still did not give up. They methodically went through each panel and resolved my issues. SunPower is Top Tier in performance. I've had my experience with a previous dealer than went out of business, but we won't get into those details. Synrg Solar / Sean Demarinis you are dealing with Sunpower. Synrg/Sean Demarinis is to the point and will get your Solar System spec'd out to your needs. Installation will be completed by Sunpower Employees not a sub-contractor. Throughout this process Synrg Solar / Sean will keep you updated on your progress in regards to updates on parts and city permits. We met Sean in Oct/Nov 2022. After many discussions and price comparisons, nobody came close to Synrg Solar/Sean pricing. We signed the documents and were set to go forward. Installation took 1 day for 15 panels. Sunpower crew started 7am and completed by sunset. My system is a little different than others. This is an additional solar system (2 Solar Systems) on my residence with 2 Tesla Batteries. Cash purchase which will give you the cheapest price quote. There were some little issues in regards to monitoring due to the 2 seperate solar systems, but was all rectified. You can always go directly to Sunpower by calling the 1-800 numbers, but I cannot guarantee you'll get personalized service updates of your project as I did with Synrg Solar/ Sean. I wanted this system in-place up and running before NEM 3.0 took effect and also take advantage of the Federal tax credit of 30% . I give Synrg Solar 5 stars for the service that was provided. Most weren't comfortable working with metal roofs, or I just didn't feel they had the expertise to handle them properly. I was actually about to give up on the whole idea until when I was introduced to Elione Solar. I decided to give it one more shot and spoke with Steve from Elione Solar. He walked me through every step of the licensing and installation process and was incredibly transparent about the costs and details. My wife and I had met with so many vendors by then that we could immediately tell Steve knew exactly what he was doing. Most importantly, he was confident about working with our specific roofing type, so we signed the contract. Throughout the process, I was surprised by how responsive he was. Any questions I sent via text or call were answered promptly with clear action plans that addressed my concerns. Bottom line: the installation was completed exactly as planned, and they did a fantastic job on the metal roof with no issues at all. I've been using the panels for 6 months now, and my only regret is that I didn't find Elione Solar sooner. I know solar projects are a long-term commitment that depends on warranty and ongoing service. While I haven't had any issues requiring their attention yet, based on my experience so far, I have no doubt I'm in good hands.
