This was my first time in Cancun and the Paradisus was amazing. From the rooms to the restaurants to the pool and beach, I had a great time and would highly recommend this all-inclusive resort to anyone. The staff was very helpful, whether it was the bartenders or guest services, who helped us book a night out and a day trip. The restaurants had good food - some better than others. I would highly recommend Fuego and Blue Agave. My biggest issue was with checking in. The entire process was not efficient or organized - they had our information/details wrong and there was confusion throughout the process. They also don't tell you about the towel card - to get a pool towel you turn in a card, then you have to turn the towel back in to get your card back. If you don't have the towel card when you check out they charge you a large fee. The problem is that they don't tell you that at all AND they put out bins for used towels to be dropped off, making it seem like you're supposed to just dump your towel. We ended up here by accident. Cancún was actually just a launching point for Havana. Our original plan was to stay at the resort for two nights (one to sleep before heading to Chichen Itza and the other to sleep before heading to Havana). Because all of the flights were booked to the entire island and we didn't have a non-US credit card, we were stuck in Cancún for five days. And Gran Melia (as it was called back then) actually made our stay quite pleasant. The resort was gorgeous. The pools were great. The service was good. The ocean was pristine. The weather was perfect. Even the sales pitch to get us into a timeshare wasn't terrible (and we got a really good breakfast buffet for our time). The thing I loved most though was the architecture. The exterior is designed to resemble the pyramids and inside has a rainforest motif. Based on what we heard from people staying at other resorts, we got quite a deal for a beautiful space in a great location. It was a bit far from all of the action (Punta Cancún) and from the city center (where all of the regular folks live with the plaza, supermarket, parks, etc), but the resort had just about everything you'd want if your goal was to relax on the beach all day. And we got around quite effectively using a combination of buses, taxis, and New Balance. On God, we'd never willingly go back to Cancún (it's just not our vibe). But, if we did go back, we'd definitely check out the Paradisus Cancún again. read more

Went here for my baby moon in August. Honestly, we were extremely disappointed. We were first placed in the older building & ended up having issues with the room. The light in the bathroom kept flickering & we couldn't adjust it. The tub was very high that made it super dangerous for me as I was 7 months pregnant. This room was extremely sad looking. Felt like a run down hostile. (I've stayed for cheaper at nicer places in Cancun). The hotel accommodated us with a room that they originally tried to get us to upgrade to for an additional $900. The room was waaaay better. No view but more comfortable to stay in. I've stayed at the Paradisus in Cabo & it was top notch. GO THERE INSTEAD. The pool....sucks. Guests go as early as 6AM to place towels or a sandal on a chair to claim it. The hotel should not allow this. I ended up tossing towels from chairs. You aren't there, it's not your spot. I actually needed a chair to sit in. The bar at the pool was a bit hard to get any type of drink. No food really at the pool which was a bummer. Hellloo Prego needs food. The beach....heckled immediately by random people trying to hustle on the beach. We weren't even comfortable to stay down there & enjoy the view or the beach. Also, the adult pool is only for timeshare members. The food...very bland. Not much flavor. I'm from LA. A street taco guy has better food. Sucks that you have to have a reservation at the restaurants. The Buffett wasn't too bad though & hit up the taco place!!!! Sooooo good. The coffee stand was amazing. Get the almond flavor syrup. The gym...needs a bit of updating. Kinda sucked that it's location doesn't have a view of anything. Otherwise it was a basic gym & got the job done. Beware of the sales people trying to get you to buy into a timeshare. It's not worth it. We did the sales pitch, calculated it, read the fine print. Don't do it. You can get trapped into spending money & not get out of the contract. This hotel was a bit confusing. All based off of what type of stay you purchased. Which made 0 sense. I would have loved to have given this place 5 stars but it needs a lot of improvements. Before scheduling my vacation I went on Yelp and other sites to review this place. I saw all 4-5 stars which was surprising now that I have visited myself. From the start we wanted the adult side with the upgraded room which we thought we booked. when we got there we were told we had a basic room and it was not going to be on the adult side. It was just my boyfriend and I we did not want to be around a bunch of kids for our vacation. After spending almost $2k for 5 days we thought that we would get more than a basic room on the adult side. We ended up spending an extra $350 to get the luxury reserve suite. The only difference is the room is upgraded, you get a butler and a separate restaurant. The restaurant was nothing special. Every time we are there we did not enjoy the food. The food on the free side was better. However, our butler Rodolfo was great. He was very accommodating. However he was not just our butler he had many other families, etc. so it seemed he was stretched thin. We spent much of our time at the other side which was what we originally booked. It was more lively and had a DJ and entertainment through the day. The reserve side no one was there. It was like a ghost town and the food was not even tasty. We wish we would have stayed with our original booking. When we looked at pictures and reviews of this place we saw some lobster and seafood which looked amazing. When we got there and asked the restaurant where the menu is for the lobster, etc they said it was a separate menu and it would be $50 per lobster per person and we would have to rent out the Bali beds which was another up charge. We were very disappointed when we heard that. The food overall at the restaurants were just okay. There was a couple that was not open due to COVID. But, we found out they were opening a week after we left. We would have loved to try something different. The food for some reason seemed to taste better during the week. We thought maybe because there was less people during the week and they took their time to prepare the food. The weekend we were there the food was bland and we could never get warm bread with our food. We asked several times and still came out cold. They close all the restaurants and bars at 11pm. Which is too early in my opinion. We couldn't get drinks or food after 11pm. The all inclusive should last all the time there should not be a cut off time. We walked over to other hotels that were more lively and came back to ours and wished we would have booked elsewhere. The positive was the drinks were great and kept coming. The hotel was very clean and well sanitized. Our cleaning lady came everyday and kept everything stocked. We did have good breakfast from time to time which was the omelets. We had omelets pretty much every morning since we knew that was the best thing on the breakfast menu. Overall, this place is okay. I would look somewhere else especially during Covid as there is not much going on at this hotel. If you are looking for great food this place is not it. If you want good drinks than stay here that's really the best part of Paradisus. read more

Horrible resort! This is my first time staying here. First day checked in, no power for the whole night. No air conditioning and no water, can't shower. We were suffering in the room. The front desk people were not very helpful at all. Do not do anything trying to help. Horrible service, and food is really bad too! We came to Cancun few times and stayed at Hyatt Ziva. It's so so much better there. Food and service were a lot better at Hyatt for sure! Don't stay here even if it's cheaper. Not worth it at all! Your vacation will become nightmare read more

ROYAL SERVICE REVIEW Day 1 arrival day! I recommend using USA TRANSFERS they were easy to find and friendly, they got us to the resort w/o any issues and told us about the culture of the area. Check in, we were greeted by the staff who took our luggage and walked us inside where we were met by another staff who took our name and seated us while they went to get the royal service staff. After 5 minutes we were escorted to the royal service area and met with a drink. They explained the hotel and services and that our butler would be meeting with us shortly. We met our butler (Daniel) who explained his role and since our room was not ready he took us to LaPalapa, an exclusive royal service restaurant. The food was wonderful, we had a great lunch and Daniel took us to a Bali bed while our room was being ready. At 1500 hrs he texted us to say the room was ready, he gave us the tour of our wonderful room. The rest of the day was spent using the pool and pool bar for drinks. We had dinner at Vento which is a tapas restaurant. The food was great, the service even better. Day 2, We started off with the breakfast area for royal service guest, fruit, cereals,eggs, pastries, everything was good. We had a Bali bed by the pool so we spend the entire day there. We had Ramon serve us water and drinks all day. We ordered lunch around 1 and had wings, nachos, spring rolls. Everything was so good. The downside to the day was it rained, for 5 mins lol!! Dinner was at Bana, it is Asian and we didn't want a lot of food so we ordered crab salads and each of us got sushi rolls. OMG, this sushi was to die for, so fresh and so yummy we thought about ordering more but they brought us dessert and we had enough. We would eat at Bana's again and again. Day3 We had a 10 am spa treatment and arrived at 9 as suggested, the 45 minute hydro treatment was great, steam/shower/sauna/ hydro pool and then off to the couples massage. Very relaxing and needed. After the spa we went to see if our butler had gotten us a Bali bed and of course he did. We enjoyed the pool and bar service all day. Dinner was at Enso, which was yummy. My wife's only issue was the shrimp are prepared w the heads still on. But on there than that the food was tasty and flavorful. Day 4, Another day in paradise, We did nothing special today even though it was our anniversary. We went to the pool and got our Bali bed and chilled, they brought our lunch and drinks all day, it rained for approx 5 minutes and that was it. Our butler had the room made up with roses and it was very nice of him. The dinner was at Feguo and our waiter, christen was great, he recommended food choices and we got 3 appetizers shrimp ceviche, grouper and shrimp bisque soup everything was so good. I got the steak and my wife the chicken which we both loved. As we are nearing the end of the trip so far we rank the restaurants 1, Bana 2 mole 2 a Vento 2b fequo 3 Enso Our trip is ending and it was great. Now there are some downsides to the trip, the ocean experienced seaweed, something they can't control, there is no other complaints we used housekeeping to bring us shampoo and items and that was done in 5 minutes. Best Resort ever! Customer service is top of the line, the room we stayed in was gorgeous, and the minibar was well stocked. The ambiance of the resort the minute you walk makes you feel welcomed, relaxed, and already in paradise. The food was great. There's a buffet restaurant that had many options and everything laid out looked delicious. Being a vegetarian I felt I had many options to choose from (definitely a pro for me). The nightly events were a lot of fun! With different types of Performances one night, mini shops kiosks another night, and traditional Mayan and Mexican dance shows the last night we stayed. The service on the beach was pretty good but, at times kind of slow due to the many orders they had and the walk the servers had to make from the pool bar to the beach area. Only personal note I would add is, for a DJ booth and tiki bar at the beach area currently they are located at the pool area only. Oh Yea! Cancun is the place to be! Out of the only 2 places Cancun vs Cabo. I ratter come to where the water is blue and calmer so you can actually get in the water. The services here was fantastic, can't be happier here with the people here. They seems to always be busy and happy working here. The room are clean however the switches in the room had no labels and most of them didn't make sense in our room and there was light bulbs out. Paradisus is an inclusive hotel but it doesn't really mean "inclusive". I tried looking in to it before I went there but there wasn't much information. The cost of other things on top of the "inclusive" is the royal service. For us it was about $50-$60 more per person + per night. So that can rack up pretty quickly. What you get is a better side of the hotel where all the royal service are, 24hr butler(you get room service if you don't pay for it as well). 1 additional bar/restaurant that you can go to. The other things you need to pay for is 1 restaurant there that is highly rated(in yelp terms its $$$), massage, activities, excursions, cabanas and other small things. The food here about a 2/5, nothing that will WOW you. And there was a few thing that was good, but not much. So don't come for the food. Pro: Great services by mostly everyone Con: Seems very sale-ly kinda place Smoking is allowed everywhere outdoors(even smoking in the pool) Inclusive doesn't meant everything is included at this hotel Food was okay Tips: Set up your pick up and drop off before you get there with your travel agent, taxi will rip you off. Go online and pre-pay it. If you want to get free stuff take 2hrs out of your vacation to listen to their timeshare presentation.(its very boring-don't get sucker into buying it, we did the math on it and it's also a rip off) Final thoughts: I would come back to Cancun, they are a little bit better than my Cabo trip. I stayed here for 3 nights and honestly had an amazing stay here. When I comes to hotels and staying somewhere, I don't ask for much: a clean room, good service, and a clean building. Of course, being a resort, this place far exceeded what I needed. I picked this place since it had good reviews and I also found an amazing deal online as well. The building itself is massive; there's 5 pyramids connected together. Inside the lobby is pristine and has a nice smell of incense throughout. The people at the desk were very nice and accommodating, and spoke English when needed. We were shown around the resort while we waited for our room to be ready, and were offered a free rental car if we listened to their timeshare presentation. The place is covered in hanging plants, which I thought looked amazing! When our room was ready, we found it to be nice and chilled, clean, and had an AMAZING view of the ocean! The balconies are quite private. We had absolutely no problem with our AC in the room. The restaurants here at Paradisus were good. They offered breakfast buffets, then switched into lunch. Getting a table during breakfast and lunch was no problem, however you had to wait a bit to get a table during dinner since everyone was there to eat. Overall, the food offered was decent; we definitely had our share of favorites and dislikes. Good thing they have 8 restaurants! The pools were clean and well maintained, and the swim up bar was super chill. During the day, we had no problem finding a chair, there were plenty offered. The only downside was you had to rent the cabanas, which to me is no problem. There were shows at night, sometimes outside by the pool or inside in the bar. Overall, I had a great time here. Its definitely family friendly if you want to bring your kids. We are planning to come back to Cancún in the near future, and plan on staying at this resort. read more

So I totally forgot to write a review when we went back in August but here's alllll the tea! It was my fiancé and I first time in Cancun and our first time in an all inclusive resort. We got a little boujee and got the royal service package from just reading the reviews a lot of people either love it or hate it. We LOVED IT. It came with an absolutely stunning room and view and let's not forget the butler it came with. Shout out to Jesus for taking care of us ! He was amazing like completely amazing my fiancé's eye ended up getting infected and this man went to the pharmacy for us and got him medicine like we were soooo heart felt and definitely tipped him very well after that. We felt right at home. The food was a solid 3.5 out of 5 it was good not omg amazing but good. I mean I wasn't expecting a 5 star meal every time. There was so many restaurants on resort that we unfortunately didn't get to taste everything. With royal service we got the Bali beds on the adult side for free. Just had to call Jesus in the morning to book it for us. The food on the adult side was actually really good the spring rolls were A1! Each night they had shows which was pretty cool. They have a on resort club. Played a lot of American music so like the top 50's which was nice wish the dj would of played more Latin music or mixed it up a bit. But it was fun drinks were good. They get even better if your tipping well. They also have a beach club outside with hookah you have to pay out of pocket for hookah but it was only like $15 bucks. That was almost my favorite part I mean drinks, hookah and sitting on the beach watching the waves doesn't get better then that. On our last night we came back to the room to a surprise, a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries such a cute and nice touch made us feel so loved Overall I would definitely recommend Paradisus to anybody! Stayed here mid December for 6 nights and I'm already having major withdrawals. I seriously cannot wait to come back. I've been bugging my boyfriend for the past month about booking our next trip to cancun. We booked our trip online including airfare and transportation to the resort. When we arrived, all the staff was so friendly and treated us like royalty. We decided to go with the royal service option while booking, which I highly recommend. For the Royal service, you get a butler during your stay. Our butler was Juan and he took care of us during our whole trip. He welcomed us with desserts and rose petals when we arrived, and on our last day he surprised us with a champagne bottle and a rose petal bubble bath. Thank you Juan!! Anything from restaurant, Bali bed, cooking class reservations, he took care of it! It made everything more stress free since I heard from other reviews that it was difficult to get reservations. Juan was able to get us dinner reservations every night. I really recommend Mole, we went there twice during our stay! Royal service has its perks, it's a separate area from the rest of the resort. There's a Royal service lounge where they serve breakfast, snacks and desserts all day, along with a premium bar! My boyfriend and I probably killed 2 bottles of Hennessy during our stay from all the henny and coke's we ordered. No shame at all...... Aside from the lounge, you have a pool area for Royal service guests only. There you can find the Bali beds/ cabana where you can reserve for the day for no charge! I believe for regular guests there is a fee. Free towels, sunscreen, tanning oil etc. We were able to reserve it for 3 days during our stay. There is also a restaurant for Royal service guests only called La Palapa, it's near the pool area! We didn't know about this until our second to last day here. I wish we knew sooner because the food there was amazing!! Everything here was made fresh. We literally ate there for breakfast lunch and dinner on our last day lol Now the cons.. - The food/restaurant options were okay, or maybe I was expecting everything to be bomb. The only two restaurants I would really recommend are Mole, Naos (breakfast only) and La Palapa. All the others were mehhh.... (fuego, blue agave, market grill, vento) - Room service was extremely slow.. Took about 45 minutes to an hour for food to arrive - The toilet seat in our room was flimsy but could've just been our room - One of my makeup products went missing. I should've put everything away before leaving the room. Kinda bummed, but whatever. Overall the resort was wonderful & staff was great!! I would definitely stay here again! PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING First I want to start off by saying ITS A SCAM! NOT EVERYTHING IS INCLUSIVE!!! Biggest waist of money. I went there for my honeymoon, check in was supposed to be at 3:00pm only got into the room at 7:00pm. They gave us the wrong room. We paid extra for a beach view and got a bush view. As soon as we walk in it smells like throw up. The shower was absolutely disgusting there were bugs all over the bed. We went to the front desk they said they can't do anything about it. We stood there arguing for 2 hours and finally agreed on giving us our room that we actually booked but made us pay an extra $900 because it's in adults only section. Food is absolutely disgusting they don't change their menus so it gets annoying eating the same thing everyday also on the menu you have to pay for most of the food it's not inclusive. They have parties all night long blasting music and you can't do anything about it. The front desk people are extremely rude! There is absolutely nothing to do in this hotel I recommend getting a better hotel. I regret going there so bad! DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY TRUST ME!!!!!!!!! read more

We booked our trip through CheapCarribbean.com 6 night 7 days.all inclusive. about $1300pp (airfare direct flight with aeromexico included too) when we first arrived the resort has a very herbal spa like smell... that is because they have these misters right when you walk in.. this really put you in a relaxing state. we were then greeted by Paola who explained all the features of the hotel. we were given a map/brochure. our rooms were ready maybe about 15 minutes after we got there. Pros: -Food is pretty good, t-he pools do not have an overwhelming chlorine smell!: -Dancing everynight at 8:30 really talented -rooms are clean, well stocked sometimes they came around again to see if you needed anything additional usually around 5/6 pm -short walk to the beach -wifi works pretty well -ocean view front room we had was great! -staff super friendly -buffet at Naos has really great selection of foods -Staff is always smiling/friendly, no cat calling (none that i heard) Cons: -Dont wear or avoid wearing white bathing suits in the pool especially the bar pool.. the amount of chlorine they have to put in there and piss from all the drunkies will turn it yellowish/light green -the lights in the room do have a "main" shut off so if thats off nothing will turn on. -they do not announce when activities will be happening on the resort. -they do not play music near the pool. -they do offer cabanas but you have to rent it for the day about%50.. but if you get vouchers you can save $10. Visited Cancún for a Cinco De Mayo wedding. No, I am not crazy. Lol! Upon checking in at Paradisus, we received cold towels and were greeted by two friendly hotels employees. We were told to find our shuttle guy on the second floor. It didn't take long to realize Paradisus could be quite confusing. However, we were finally able to figure out that tower 3 has 3 levels and we had to go to the second floor in our tower (the shuttle guy was near room 3150). You have to try the spa if you visit this place. I had an AMAZING massage from Pamela and my partner enjoyed his massage from Danielia. We are still dreaming about those hands!!! Naos is the place go to for breakfast because there is a buffet every morning. Interestingly enough, we found ourselves at Naos every morning. (Hello Atilano/Ati). We loved the tacos at Blue Agave. They were really good. We also dined at Market Grill, which is a Rodizio Syle restaurant. The meat was well seasoned and sides were tasty. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to try Thai food in Mexico so we also dined at Enzo, and enjoyed our meal there too. Our party had quite a few drinks here. The margaritas (with no ice), and bailey's were my favorite. Overall, this place is a hit! This is the only place I would stay if I have to revisit Cancún in the future. read more

I have been to a variety of resorts in the area and this is definitely my favorite resort! Paradisus is truly a Paradise! Something to keep in mind, I do not look for a party hotel and enjoy relaxation during my Cancun vacation. If you are looking for crazy parties, this may not be the best place. Furthermore, I always stay in the adults only - Royal Service area which is separate from the general hotel area, so this review is based on that. Having said that, this hotel is fantastic! Environment There are a lot of beautiful decorations, water and plants inside the hotel. Whether it is raining or extremely hot outside, I love the fresh feel and atmosphere. The Royal Service has its private hall lounge area with pools of water, plants, beautiful lights, alcoholic beverages and a mini buffet. It looks and feels like a garden in a faerie tale. There is a large main hall with beautiful greenery and pools as well. My favorite restaurant (Bana) is hidden amongst the plants right in the middle! The hotel boasts a lot of cabanas that are brilliantly located around the pool and beach area in the Royal Service area. They are not guaranteed for the entire stay, but depending on occupancy you should be able to reserve it for a big part of it. Food There are tons of restaurants, an amazing buffet and little snack areas with coffee and ice cream set up! I recommend the restaurants Bana and Fuego. The Royal Service area has its own private restaurant, The Palapa which serves delicious custom made breakfasts and lunches! A lot of the restaurants like Palapa, Nao and Fuego face the ocean which is makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Service Truly a highlight of this establishment! The management and the team here are fantastic. I have come to this resort for the past 10 years and the service never changes. Always amazing! Everyone is always friendly and trying to go above and beyond in every aspect of the experience. Take the waiters at the pool for example, they are checking in as our drinks get lower and quickly bring another round when we need them. I have never had faster and friendlier service anywhere else in Cancun. They have a button to call a server in each cabana, and I never have to use it as they consistently appear out of nowhere. Beach The beach area is extensive with room for 2 lines of beds, a nice gap and the area for people to walk near the water. The water is pretty clean and the beach is nice. No rocks. The only downside is that it's windy, but that's common for Cancun. (tif you want less wind and calm water, go to Isla de Mujeres) Potential Improvements Overall I love this place, but there is always a little bit of room for improvement. A few quick suggestions: 1. Expand the gym area. The trend is heading towards working out, even during vacation. 2. Add a smoothie shop. I think the additions for gelato and coffee are awesome! Take it to the next level and add a smoothie place with healthy veggie options. 3. Add a hospitality room so that people can change and go to the beach if the rooms aren't ready. I have to say, I was overall quite pleased with this hotel. Upon check in everyone was friendly and helpful. We upgraded to the royal services (without the butler ) for a few additional perks. I would say to just go all in and get the butler though as it would have been nice to have them take care of everything for us. PRO TIP: If you don't do the royal service then sign up for Club Melia (their rewards program) this way you can get a free cabana by the beach or pool the first day and only $10 a day after that (normally much more). These cabanas are actually much better than the royal service cabanas as you can choose where you'd like to be with these. The food was just ok most places, but I have yet to see an all inclusive in Cancun with spectacular food without going to somewhere like the Ritz. I do want to say we did frequent the buffet Naos due to our waiter, Martin. He was amazing and went out of our way to make our meal enjoyable. We went out of his way to have lobster tails made for us on the 2nd and 3d night even though it was not being served those days. Make sure you ask for all your drinks to be doubles. As with any all inclusive drinks can be really watered down. I think when I asked for a "double" it tasted more like a single, so definitely go that route. Beware your room key deactivates at noon on your checkout day. We got to the room at noon (our fault) to grab our stuff, but ended up temporarily locked out. We thought we had to rush to get all the food/drinks we could before checkout at noon, but it turns out that wasn't necessary. What really impressed me was that after we checked out at noon they let us keep ur bracelets to continue enjoying food/drinks. This was really awesome because our flight wasn't until 4pm. If you can, try to fly out later and take advantage of all the good this hotel has to offer after you checkout! Also, if you rent jetskis here you'll have to walk down the beach to the front of The Grand Oasis to ride them. If you do this, DO NOT go anywhere near The Grand Oasis as it is an unsafe hotel (see my last review on that hotel) to be near. The beach/jet ski area was fine though. The guys were very friendly/accommodating at the jet ski rental place (Aquaworld). read more

My family and I stayed at the resort for four nights and five days. I will start by saying my party consisted of me, my husband, and my two boys ages 12 and six. So I'm going to break this review down into categories. Food- The resort consisted of 10 restaurants. One of which was only available to club members. All of the restaurants were amazing. Our favorite was the buffet. The buffet during breakfast and lunch had every food you could possibly think of. They even had a theme night where it was all seafood. We also ate a an authentic Mexican restaurant. Now we know what REAL tacos taste like there is no going back to fast food tacos. There was a lot a latin restaurant, a nightly buffet set up by the pool of international foods. You could eat as much as you wanted all day. I will include adult beverages in the food. A must have drink is a blue Hawaiian at the resort. No idea what's in it just trust me on this. The drinks were great not watered down either. There is also an ice cream stand but it's only open select times which isn't great. There is also a coffee and frap stand like here own Starbucks I didn't try it either. Room- we stayed in the lowest grade room the lagoon view delux. It had a balcony as well. The room was was nothing fantastic but it was clean. The bathroom however was fantastic . The shower had two shower heads one right over your head and another detachable one. There was a door you could close off the toilet and there was a regular toilet and a Lady cleaning toilet. The bathroom was stocked every day with lots of soap, body was, and shampoo I took 12 Home. The room was also stocked with a mini fridge with sodas and snacks like Oreos and chips. This is included so eat up. I even got extra on the way out for the plane ride. Service- The service was by far the best I've gotten anywhere. The staff remembers you from day to day. Hey interacting with my kids. They were genuinely happy to help you. Room service is included which my kids used quite often and hey still came with a smile. Kids Club- the kids club has a separate baby club that I did not use. My boys begged to be dropped off at the kids club. It was a big room with a play station and couch. And an indoor gym like chick fila. The kids are welcome from 9am-9pm but if they are doing a special event you have to rsvp like they did ceramics while we were there. There is one attendant and sometimes a lot of kids. I was fine with it because my older son is 12 and could look after his brother but not sure about little ones. Pools- There are four amazing pools at the resort. One is adult only and one is he kids pool. They are all huge and you don't feel crowded. If you prefer the beach it's right infront of the pools with beach chairs and umbrellas. And you can rent cabanas at an extra cost. Entertainment- so I saved this for last because it's the only reason I did not give the resort five stars. The entertainment was lacking significantly. So every night there is a family show at 8:30. My first pet peve is we never knew where it was just walked around looking for it. One night was a man juggling, one night a light show, one night Elvis show. All nights it was boring in fact most people left before it was over and my kids fell asleep. There is also a red lounge club open every night. The DJ played Latin music the whole time we were there. I would suggest a more variety of music and definitely line dances that always breaks people out of their shell. Ok so over all my family loved this place. My six year old cried when it was time to leave and secretly I hated to leave to. It's a great resort for families and couples. You can buy excursions on site, exchange your money, and it's right on the beach (though a lot of seaweed), you walk right out the resort and down the hill and public transportation is right there. There is also and aqua park across the street in walking distance. Overall I would go back and I would recommend to anyone but plan on entertaining yourself because it's lacking in that department. read more

Our family Loves this hotel! We have been going for years and bought the Circle timeshare. One of the reasons we love this place is because of Elliott Gonzalez. He was the Pool Conceirge for the guests and he was AWESOME!! He IS one of the reasons we keep coming back because he always took care of our family. I heard that he was let go because they didn't need him. Are you kidding me? You NEED him. He was friendly, always available, ran circles around the others. Our family is very, very disappointed with this decision. I hope management rehires him because they will be missing one of the best workers they had. read more

Overall we truly enjoyed our stay and had an incredible vacation and experience. This is the best resort in Cancun! I was highly impressed and would not only love to return but would love to stay at another Melia property. We upgraded to Reserve level and it was well worth it! They assign you your own concierge and Frida took such good care of us, making everything so easy and smooth- from booking our dinner reservations and any other request we had. We had access to an adults-only pool and amazing restaurant Sante that's exclusive for Reserve only. We also had the ability to book Bali beds at the pool, which was our favorite part, plus room service was included. I am a huge foodie and that's probably the most important thing for me. In this area Paradisus Cancun is much better than any other all inclusive I have been to. Room service was pretty good, which is rare. They do a great job with authentic Mexican food- blue agave is sooo good for tacos. But our favorite was Cielo- we had an absolutely amazing experience not once but twice! This restaurant and its incredible food made our vacation unforgettable. The first time our server Jose was just wonderful in every way and so sweet. We loved the food so much we came back again and our server this time, Noe, was beyond incredible. He went above and beyond to give us a memorable experience. Everything from the guacamole, margaritas, the amazing appetizers to entrees and desserts. The tlayuda is an authentic dish from Oaxaca and it's a fusion of flavor that's mind blowing! I'll remember it for the rest of my life. Be sure to ask for the habanero sauce for a yummy kick! Chef David is a genius! Some other highlights: The staff is by far the best part. They really take care of you and are ALL so genuinely sweet, especially at restaurants. I will never forget them. Especially Cesar who serves the Bali beds and Sante restaurant, and took such good care of us. Every single person throughout the property greets you and checks in on you. This is top notch service!!!! Beautiful design and aesthetic everywhere, loved the boho look and the plants everywhere in the lobby. It also smells soooo amazing and fresh everywhere! Impeccably clean in rooms and throughout the property. Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. No issues whatsoever. The beach is gorgeous! Stunning views of the Caribbean Sea . Spa is A1. We had amazing massages and wonderful experience. They do a great job with covid protocols. All staff wear masks religiously, which is very reassuring. They sanitize luggage and have bleach pads for your shoes. They make you wear masks at the buffet which is definitely necessary. And all paperless menus everywhere with bar codes. Drinks are stronger than most all inclusive resorts, which is nice! Guest services was great anytime we needed something sent to the room and even call to follow up and ensure you received what you need. Loved their bracelets that are used for room keys and to display your level. Much better than the ugly wrist bands most resorts make you wear. Covid tests are required for travel back to US and they offer covid tests in house in the resort for $25 USD which is very convenient and also cheaper than external to the hotel. I also appreciated that the resort wasn't catered to only Americans, which is refreshing compared to most places. I loved that guests were from all over the world and that you're able to experience some culture. The only complaint I have is that it's extremely hot throughout the inside of the lobby and main areas, which makes it uncomfortable at times. I highly recommend the Paradisus Cancun for an upscale experience that delivers in very way. This place is highly impressive and they do a wonderful job in every way. This is a very beautiful property. The staff was super nice and friendly. Food was okay. NAOS the buffet was surprisingly the best place to eat. All the other places that required reservations were just okay. Ambiance is amazing. When you walk in it smells like flowers and someone is always asking you if you would like something to drink. The rooms are nice. We had to switch rooms though when we first arrived because of ants. I will say that the first room was a lot nicer than the second room that we ended up in. Didn't have as many upgrades. View was just as beautiful though. We had a Royal Service package which included room service for free 24 hours, access to the spa from 9-9 and a stocked bar, premium liquor and access to the adult only portion of the resort with an exclusive restaurant. All very very nice. My deduction of stars comes from the overly aggressive sales staff. We had to have denied at least 10 people in the last 2 days. We sat through a presentation which we NEVER ever do but decided to because we were asked so many times. It was 2 hours although they said it would be 90 mins. After we declined. The sales associate called her boss over to give us a better deal. I declined and the manager stood up and said "well I can't help you" and stormed off. Almost like a car buying experience. Wayyyy too aggressive. I actually would have thought about it if it wasn't for the managers disposition. All in all this was an okay stay. Terrible place to stay unless you have an ocean view. The rooms otherwise, are small , dated and the lights in the bathroom are orange so women, forget about doing your hair or makeup in there. Also, the common space of The hotel Is extremely humid due to the hundred of hanging plants. The staff is nice but the service is terribly slow, the food is mediocre at best and not always warm. I would recommend staying somewhere else in the hotel zone if you are considering Cancún. The Hard Rock is a great all inclusive option. read more

Review for Paradisus Diego Josue-cured the hang over Step Wa x Just finished our 7 day trip! It was absolutely amazing! We felt very safe. The hotel and staff go ABOVE and BEYOND to assist you with anything you need. The hotel was VERY CLEAN. I'm a bit of a clean freak and was very impressed with the efforts they took to keep everything sanitized and fresh! - [x] We stayed in the reserve section. I loved it and think it was totally worth it. We arrived to the hotel at 7am. Our room wasn't ready as expected and ended up still having a great start! I always travel with a change of clothes on my carry on. Just in case my luggage is late I have what I need to hold me over. So we changed into our swimsuits and started to explore the hotel. We enjoyed breakfast outside at The La Palapa. Diego greeted us immediately and made us feel very welcomed. Our whole trip he remembered us and checked in everyday to make sure we were doing well. Josue was also super wonderful and provided excellent services to my husband and our family while we were there. We went for a walk on the beach before heading to the pool while we waited for our room. During the first part of our trip the beach had too much seaweed. It looked like it cleared up quite a bit towards our last day. We walked on the beach but did not swim much at the beach. We mostly spent our days at the Bali beds by the pool on the reserve side. Had lunch service to the cabana with food and drinks. It was great! We traveled with a total of 12 people. Stef was our butler. Let's just say, if you get her as your butler, you are set! She went above and beyond throughout our trip. She even helped us make reservations on her day off and kept in touch with us to make sure we didn't need anything. She was truly wonderful along with all of the other staff. We loved all of the restaurants! Our favorites were Bana (Sushi), Italian restaurant and Enzo ( international). The taco restaurant was really good too! I'm a huge coffee lover and the lattes were some of the best I've had! So that really made my trip! Overall, I would highly recommend this resort. They take COVID very seriously. Stef made the Covid test process also very easy. We tested negative and had no problems at the airport with the test and confirmation papers they provided. We visited XCARET Park on our last day. We swam in the caves and walked the grounds. It was an unbelievable experience. On day 5 it was nice to have a change of scenery. The food was not my favorite( we ate at the Mexican buffet) but the actual park was pretty cool and nice addition to our trip. Paradisus hotel have vendors at the resort who sell tickets and provided us with safe transportation there and back. I highly recommend this if you have time. While we were there we also went to the evening show that XCARET is known for and it was absolutely beautiful! Great mix of culture, dancing and entertainment. We still are in AWE of what a beautiful trip we had! The whether forecast said it was going to rain everyday. It ended up raining for 2 days out of the 7. The rain was on and off. We still made the best of it and had a great time. When it rained I noticed the hotel started pulling out crafts for everyone in the hotel. So it's nice that they keep activities going, especially if you have children. We did do a photoshoot and purchased a book! I'm really glad we did. The quality of the photos and the book were beautiful and totally worth it. The photographer Diego made the shoot really fun! My husband wasn't too excited at the beginning, but ended up having a blast and that's a huge thanks to Diego and his good vibes. It's a beautiful hotel and we look forward to coming back! But, I believe it could have been better. -Smells in the lobby and all over that were unbearable -Some food not thoroughly cooked -no washing machine so you must pay for your cleaning (crazy prices) -Overcharged for everything if not all inclusive -Some personal things. Stayed at this resort for Paradise Blue and I loved every minute of it. The rooms don't get as cool as I would have liked them to but the pool was a perfect place to cool off! All the restaurants were super yummy and the buffet was a great place to grab a bite to eat before hitting the next set. HUGE SHOUT OUT TO HENRY, who worked at the restaurant near the beach! We made sure my friends and I had shots and kept the party going! He also had wonderful customer service and told us what items on the menu were delicious! My boyfriend and I ate at Sal, and it was SO DELICIOUS! The guacamole with grasshoppers was an interesting combo but with the crunchiness/ salty of the grasshopper really tied it together. I'm a little late posting this review but better late than never. We stayed at the Paradisus Cancun in November 2020 (Thanksgiving week). We stayed on The reserve side (adults only) and it is definitely worth the splurge. With your reserve stay, you get a personal butler. We had Rodolfo and he was AMAZING! He went above and beyond to make a memorable trip for us. I would highly recommend asking for him. At the pool bar Moises and Miguel just to name a couple were awesome but everyone was so attentive from day one! The customer service provided was one of the highlights of our trip. We cannot say enough good things about the quality of service we got from everyone at this resort "even during COVID". On the reserve side the cabanas are well-placed to give you privacy and you are able to relax and enjoy quiet time if that is what you are looking for. We never had to wait on a drink either . If you want to join in the fun they have activities going on at the main pool with Diego (lots of energy and fun). The food is average but the quality of service customer service made up for that. Not a good experience. No one knows anything. There's no clear directions about the hotel or the amenities. Reservations required at every restaurant other than the buffet. Room service doesn't want to take your order bc they are busy and will try to talk you out of ordering. AC goes out a lot, I got upgraded to a premium room because of this and the ac in that room ran out of Freon. They never fixed it. The presentation was a complete scam. Service is terrible. AC in room does not work woke up soaked in sweat told them twice and they never fixed it or moved me to new room! Spa services total rip off over 200 USD for 75 min massage! Restaurants are boring and lack entertainment in fact the entire hotel is boring and lacks entertainment. It's very dated and showing its age. Poor design where you have to walk too far to get to your room and back. Lacks water park type amenities at pool and entertainment at pool basically this place is old and boring with awful AC and food is ok at best. Not a good deal for 400 a night. read more

Please do not even consider staying here. Everything is an up charge. Pool bed, room with a view, restaurants, beach beds, etc. I paid for a room upgrade and was not told about a live karaoke band that would echo every night booming loud into our room. Room service is inedible. We cut our trip short and weren't offered any type of reimbursement. I also had a spa treatment gifted to me by a friend and they never told me about it and have yet to reimburse her. read more

This is not the best resort in Cancun but it does the trick. Staff are very nice always saying hello, rooms have a hot tub, Club Melia. Beach is beautiful and the sea is so calm, you can swim safely with the kids. There are barely any solicitors so you can really relax. read more

UPDATE to Amy D's review from Feb 2019 Since our trip to Melia Paradisus in December 2019, I have been debating how to write this review because when we originally stayed in Feb 2019 we stayed as not the full Royal Service but as an add on when checking in. Since both services were so different and we returned due to a previous negative experience that corporate wanted to remedy, see previous review, this isn't an updated review, but a new review based on our second experience returning in the full Royal Service. Much better!! No upsell's this time! And same great service from the staff! Daniel was there once again leading his team to victory but now there was a new fabulous addition; the new manager, Ramon. They are a dynamic duo and trying the highlight of both trips. Wasn't worth the butler service... While the butlers are very nice, they weren't really around to build that personal connection, and if you're there for a week the butlers do have days off. Our butler was very responsive and very sweet and we enjoyed getting to know her but unfortunately we only had 2 days from the week with her and then we were passed off to another butler and two days later another. Also, one of the big downfalls in my last review were the restaurants and how hard it was to get a reservation so most of the time you're eating in the main buffet. It was still a huge challenge this go-round even with a butler to make your reservations. Again, most meals we ate the snacks the Royal Lounge or at the poolside Royal restaurant La Palapa. The staff was raving about the new international buffet a.k.a. the main buffet, it was newly renovated since we had been there the first time, and while it was fine and offered many many many options, it's a bummer that they took out an actual restaurant to make the main buffet larger. Maybe this is how they intend to accommodate the lack of reservations... AND FINALLY, OMG PLEASE CHANGE YOUR TOILET PAPER TO UNSCENTED!!! - thank God I remembered this from our last stay and brought my own toilet paper roll, but this is a huge problem! I ran out of my roll the last day and had to use a very small amount of the hotel toilet paper in our last hours and yet again (both trips I encountered this from vacationing here) suffered a UTI when returning home. Women's bits are sensitive and scented toilet paper is not good for anyone's health; leads to UTI's and yeast infections (I know bc I got one both times after returning from our week stays and had to see a doctor). All in all - great experience this time and it was 100% better, but I would be curious if it's only bc of our complaint to corporate or if this will be the new standard for guests going forward? And although no improvements this trip were gigantic I do think the improvements made were vast. Recap: No upsells which was GREAT! Still lacking at dinner reservations Consistent incredible restaurant staff! CHANGE TOILET PAPER Last plug: splurged on Tempo and it was worth every penny. Excellent job. Staff is hit or miss, servers will offer to get you a drink and then just not come back. Got up early to snag a bed/seat on the pool deck since all the guests here Claim spots with their items early on. But when I returned to the spot I claimed the employees told me it was FOR STAFF. I don't understand why a cozy beach cabana is being reserved for staff with ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNAGE OR INDICATION. Bad arrangement of areas, there's like a million dead ends and you basically have to walk through everything to get to anything. read more

Amazing resort, and in incredible condition. You would think it was only a couple years old. The design and decor is amazing. Beach is soft white sand that doesn't even get hot to walk barefoot. Great pools that are heated large and clean. Workers can be seen constantly cleaning and doing maintenance without disturbing guests. The restaurants are all okay and probably their only weak point. some better than others. I would recommend the Japanese sushi restaurant. Amazing service and everyone is very helpful and polite. I will certainly return to this place on my next trip back to Cancun. read more

The Paradisus is a lovely, elegant hotel. Friendly staff and very nice pools and amenities. They might consider updating their room technology. Plugs were hard to find for charging devices and turning off the lights would also turn off the charging. No USB ports. Great bars, clubs, and Japanese restaurant. First off let me tell you we've stayed at numerous Paradisus and Melia resorts in different countries. They have all been fantastic. This trip was VERY different. It was to be a special family trip having brought my 9 month old daughter. It ended up being more of a nightmare. For any new mothers and fathers, let me give you the inside scoop. First, for nearly 3 days we had to ask them to come fix our door. You didnt even need a key to access our room You could simply walk in. ALL FATHERS!!! - How would you feel knowing anyone could access your room with your wife and baby sleeping inside???!!!. At one point when we really tried making it an issue, they told us we had to wait by the door for security. Of course, after we told them we have MILK inside the room and our child needs to EAT! They made us wait 45 MINUTES! Next, for all of you mothers still feeding via breast milk, I'm sure you understand that you need to drink lots of water to keep this going. We asked for nearly 3 days to refill our water in the room. From guest services, receptionist, the maid, the maids in the hallway and even the FRONT DESK MANAGERS - ALMA AND JUAN!!! Next, the AC goes out in the entire hotel. Our 9 month old cant even sleep in such heat! Of course, After the numerous occasions of trying to address the issues with the "Front Desk Manager, JUAN... I never hear back from him so I have to chase down someone new. This time is was ALMA. Didn't get very far with her either. "ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!" Countless hours later, nothing has been resolved, no phone calls to check on us, not even a knock on the door. TO HELL WITH THIS RESORT! If you have a family, small children and especially an infant or baby, let this be your warning. This hotel is not a place you want to be. p.s. We also found BLACK MOLD on our balcony. read more
