Just got back from our stay for our honeymoon at Secrets The Vine, that was from a Tuesday to Sunday from April 28 to May 3. This place was INCREDIBLE! I have nothing but good things to say about this place for a all inclusive, ADULTS ONLY resort. The resort it self was clean, modern and flawless. The service and people working there was top notch, everyone made us feel like royalty. The food was so good, obviously some spots weren't perfect but 90% of the time we LOVED what we ate. Was full inclusive so we ate a ton and drank a lot! The pools were beautiful and lots of options having 4. From Tuesday to Thursday it was so easy to get a spot at the pool or beach, would show up at 11am and find a two chairs and umbrella no problem. Friday/Saturday it was a bit harder since it's the weekend so the pool area was packed by 1pm but went to the beach and again found two spots with umbrella no problem. Beach was solid for hotel zone, this area of Cancun is known for having bad seaweed but the resort did its best to keep it cleaned up. Was able to get in the water some days and not see the seaweed everywhere. We did a preferred booking so got room on a higher floor, exclusive quick check in, access to roof top pool and restaurant. So if you don't care about those things just do a regular room but the upstairs pool was incredible. This place is definitely a relaxing resort, not a ton to do at night but that's what we wanted for our honeymoon. Pool can be somewhat lively during the day with music, and performances but at night it's just casual bars, restaurants and what not. Everything dies down before 12. Did a spa day too and it was great, had a couples massage, full body scrub, and hydrotherapy circuit for two that costs $398. I recommend booking it when you arrive as they may have deals. It was a great experience overall, we would for sure come back 100%!!! Every single worker there was so nice and helpful. We had a great time staying at Secrets The Vine resort. Adults only all-inclusive. It had a chill and slower pace which is exactly what we were looking for. Great breakfast and lunch buffets. I wish the food was a little better at the restaurants but it got the job done. No reservations needed unlike some of the other all-inclusive hotels. Excellent service the entire stay. Great beach access. Get out to the pool/beach early if you want to reserve a chair for the day. If not, people leave around lunch time and you can snag their chair. Located in the hotel zone of Cancun so it only took maybe 15 minutes to get there from the airport. Gated resort with an attendant. We never felt unsafe and even ventured off of the property to check out the shops across the street. I would highly recommend this resort! read more

We had an amazing trip while staying at Secrets the Vine Cancun. We had an ocean view room on the 19th floor. From the moment we arrived we were treated to exceptional service. This was a theme the entire stay. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure we received amazing service. The drinks were great. The room was stunning. We loved opening the sliding doors and listening to the ocean. The only possible area of improvement is the food. There was lots of it available, and since this property doesn't require reservations we didn't have trouble getting into any restaurants. But, the food itself was just fine. Nothing spectacular and a bit bland at times. However, this was still such a positive experience that I would recommend this resort and absolutely return. read more

We had a great stay at secrets the vine Cancún in early December! Staff was kind and helpful, resort was clean and well maintained. Activities staff was great- wish the schedule was better communicated as the app was often wrong. Wait times for restaurants could be better- and the app was unreliable for telling you when your table was ready. Staff was often upselling wine to get you a table- pushy and frustrating. Resort needs more pool and beach chairs for the number of guests- real estate was often claimed by 8am by belongings with no people. Still a great stay for a very reasonable price. Espresso martini and soft pretzel every afternoon was a highlight. read more

So this is a five star experience. But it isn't yet perfect. Just really fantastic. The location, the decor, the food, the beach are all world class. The service is a work in progress with some hot or miss. The small footprint makes a prime pool/beach chair tricky. But seriously it's a work around with a little cash thrown at the problem. Came here in May for a weeklong stay. I spent 3 days in a regular room and then upgraded to the preferred club for the last 4 days. The upgrade is well worth doing! We went up by 7 floors and had access to the preferred lounge (snacks throughout the day), premium drinks, a 25min sample massage (did scalp and foot) for 2, amongst many other perks. Access to the pool on 12th as well as the Olio restaurant for breakfast and lunch were also great perks of the preferred club. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant (Nebbiolo) most for dinner. Sea salt grill was the fave for lunch. Their buffet is also quite solid. Service was super warm and friendly! The e-team was great - especially Charly, Eduardo, Itzel, Aisha, and Jonathon. Fave shows were the tropical night (Sun night) and boy band (Mon night). The live music in different areas is a super nice touch. Went to the spa for 2 deep tissue massages and the hydrotherapy during my time here - definitely recommend! The hydrotherapy circuit is shorter than some of the other Secrets resorts. They have complimentary wine tastings 1-2 times a day and some paid ones as well. Would highly recommend checking out the complimentary one first and then paying the $35 for the upgrade if you like - I did the Mexican one and it was fantastic. Tried 5 wines from Baja CA / Mexico and then had some savory bites along with the wines, and then some Mexican candies along with the wines to learn about how the flavors changed with different pairings. Their photographer on site, Laura, is wonderful. I booked a complimentary 30min shoot and ended up purchasing a few pics ($35 each if you buy less than 10, then lower cost per pic if you buy more). Very disappointed I advised the manager he said that's basically what happens after an hour or so of food,.. Hotel overall is clean and the restaurants are a lot better than many other resorts I have been to in the Caribbean. The rooms are a very decent size while sometimes, if someone orders room service you can hear the cart rolling throughout the hallways. I think the biggest thing that takes away from it being a good 4 star is the fact that it is indeed a smaller resort. While, you should know this prior to going as well as to many vlogs and information on the net, it is still surprising when you can finish exploring said resort in an hour or two. Services were pretty good overall, and activities can be potentially lacking as there are shows....but more like mini concerts and activities around the Lobby area as opposed to a massive display with acrobatics or singing at a main stage. Overall, a good experience, but probably not a resort I would go back to. Please take my review with a grain of salt as I am not a full resort person and my personal opinion could be skewed. For a couple I think this would be a relatively nice getaway. For a group of friends, I think there are better. read more

Secrets The Vine was a really great experience. The property is very clean and maintained well. The check-in process was easy and no one tried to sell us a time share!!! We upgraded to the junior suite and it was really big for the value. It had a massive balcony with a view to the left of the lagoon and to the right to the ocean. The only sad part about the view is looking straight out was another hotel. We were there in August so it was a little hot to hang out on the balcony. The resort is all inclusive and the food was really good. It is worth staying on property to eat. We did walk to our favorite restaurant which was perfectly located across the street and the hotel is in a great location in the hotel zone. The property felt very secure and safe. The drinks from the bar were really good as well except the Neon Lemonade...not a fan LOL. The buffet is really good except for the Fish Stew but mostly for the strong aroma while getting your food. Came here for my 55th birthday and it was well worth the trip! Had an awesome time here. They have numerous restaurants that are included in the all inclusive rate and the food choices are expansive and delicious. The room was spacious and beautiful with an awesome view of the ocean. They placed a birthday sash on my door and placed a lovely dessert in the room. Went to the spa and had a great massage which was preceded by a hydro therapy session. Amazing time with great food and drinks! Fifth time at an all inclusive and this one did not disappoint. I would recommend this resort for someone interested in a more chill and relaxed experience. Most of the entertainment included live music and performances. Unlike other resorts I've been to, this was the one resort with the most live music and less partying. If you're into that, great place for you! On days where I was looking for a bit more entertainment, however, it was great to have the club/bar scene only 10 mins away (accessible via uber). Location felt very safe and hotel was very clean at all times. Very attentive staff as well. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would definitely come back. read more

The ops manager /GM whoever runs this business should have a talk with him. Idk if it was because I'm Mexican but it definitely felt personal. He was rude and tried to leverage his power to dismiss providing us service. Never apologized for him and his team not providing us the room and upgrade we had asked for. If it wasn't for the GM or whoever the hell he was it would be better. Outside that hiccup and them messing up our room it's been a great experience. Resort is beautiful and food is great. The Asian spot is delicious. The steak house was amaizng as well sea salt was great for mariscos and fish. Haven't tried the Italian or olio the Mediterranean. Came here over the 4th July weekend and had a blast. This was my first time at this Secrets, as I have been to the other located in Puerto Vallarta and this was definitely a much better location. I have traveled to Cancun over the years and this resort is in that top notch of preference each time I do decide to go back. Our waiter Adrian was the best. Each morning for breakfast we would as for him and he would always have that same section reserved for us. The pools were fabulous you just have the be there very early to reserve a spot like all other resort where the perfect spot has to be close to the pool. The food was great from the first day we arrived and I must say the seafood by the pool was tasty. Seafood included Jumbo shrimp, grilled Octopus, and my favorite grilled mussels. (Yummy) As for our room, we were placed on the 18th floor with an Oceanview and a pool view. Room was very spacious and clean. Had no issue with the plumbing or any issue that would have made me reduce my ratings. But that evening sunset took my breath away as you can see in the pics that are here. Overall, I will suggest staying here, but the one item that still bothers me even when in Puerto Vallarta, was the massive amount of seaweed on the beach. Mexico needs to do a better job of curbing this. I do know what causing all this and they do too, but have done nothing to curtail the growth of this yearly issue. Please do NOT go to this resort. My husband and our entire group got parasites from the restaurants here. We have incurred thousands of dollars in medical bills from staying here. To make things worse, the resort refused to refund our spa services that we didn't use because he has uncontrollable diarrhea. read more

Service was great until we checked out. We ordered 3 wine bottles and at check out found out we were over charged on all 3 of the bottles. They only adjusted 2 of the bottles at checkout. This whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. Definitely not a five star kinda place. They need to improve on the small details. But would have given it a four prior to the wine situation. Food was mediocre. Best food was the buffet. Steakhouse was a gorgeous place with Sizzler quality steak. Half time bar felt dirty (took Clorox wipes my second visit there) and took them 20 minutes to get the guy with the remote to change the channel, so we missed most of the 1st quarter of a football game. read more

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my disappointment with our recent stay at your resort. As travel agents and bloggers who had high expectations based on the resort's reputation, we were disheartened by the number of issues we encountered during our visit. Despite the beautiful property, our experience was marred by several unresolved problems: * We were unable to take a hot shower throughout our stay, which severely impacted our comfort. * The room had broken or malfunctioning items, which we reported, but they were not addressed in a timely or satisfactory manner. * We experienced miscommunications and failed promises from the management team, which eroded our trust. * A simple request for morning coffee was not fulfilled until the evening, showing a lack of attention to detail. * The room was not properly equipped, requiring us to use a pole strip and power block just to charge our devices. * Upon arrival, our balcony was noticeably dirty, suggesting it had not been cleaned prior to check-in. * Most disappointing, my birthday was not acknowledged despite advance notice via phone--until I personally brought it up to the staff. Steak was not cooked right 2x same with my wife and the manager even went back to check on it and came to the table with the chef. This stay did not reflect the level of service or hospitality we expect from a Secrets Resort, and it certainly does not align with the guest experience we were excited to share with our audience. We hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider appropriate action to prevent other guests from having similar experiences. We would also appreciate a follow-up regarding how the resort plans to address these concerns. Manager walked out during the conversation and was no help. Major language barrier she told me that the water and food was a perception. That is wild as we have had engineering here everyday with water issues. It was our first time in Mexico and we decided to choose adults only all inclusive hotel for my birthday and Secrets on the Vine looked perfect for us. Rooms were very new and spacious. We took deluxe king room with the sea view and the room didn't disappoint. However no privacy at the balcony is kind of an issue. You see your neighbors so you can't enjoy it so much. I loved amount of pools at this hotel. The food is available all the time at the lobby bar and beach bar during the day. I loved that there were a lot of seats, sofas, lounges to hang out at. Beach is right at the footsteps, it's so convenient however beach was not cleaned. There were a lot of seaweed in the water that irritated my skin because with strong waves it hits you everywhere. Gym was amazing, the views are very gorgeous, however didn't had air-conditioning and it was very difficult to do cardio. I end up doing pilates because it was too hot inside. Loved evening musicians at the lobby, piano players, guitar or just a simple jazz was very relaxing and it was every evening. Also later in the night was a lot of singers, some were very good some were OK. But it was always entertaining. We managed to see the turtles in the evening. They came on shore to lay there eggs and security of the hotel were guarding them so tourists wouldn't scare them. Some people were very rude they turned on flashlights trying to film/take a pic of the turtles and try to come from other side of the beach to come close to them. Please respect the nature and take the photos from the far without a flashlight! Food was ok, however portions were small in the restaurants. And sometimes I felt that food would be soggy and lack of texture that is specially at the buffet and lobby bar food & desserts. Also every restaurant "catch of the day" was branzino. Since I love fish and menus wasn't so big I was interested in fish and all restaurants had same branzino as a catch of the day for a week straight... The app that they told us to check for events and restaurants didn't work. It's was not clear to us what activities were offered and what evening shows would be. It was our first time at this hotel and we were confused. I wish they would explain more properly at the check in. Also activities often were cancelled and animation team wasn't present. I have been to all inclusive in Europe and they had much more interesting programs during the daytime. I loved the mojito class, however next day supposed to be margarita class I came there and it was cancelled. Also restaurant menu the app was not up to date or wasn't there at all and we had to ask front desk for the menu. Also it was not clear to us what was included and what was not because some restaurants were only for VIP package. What I didn't like that everywhere they try to push you into buying over $100 bottle of wine. Without that they didn't provide us a good table! At least 3 restaurants refused to give us a good table. They told us if we want window seat we have to purchase a wine bottle that starts at $100. Me and my husband don't drink much and we definitely don't need $100 wine bottle... Also many big groups take it to get a good table but It may not work for couples that just want to have a good table and romantic evening and they don't need a bottle. I think it's very unfair because I paid $600 a night and I don't want to pay more to get a good table specially at all inclusive restaurants that supposed to be part of our deal. I absolutely loved the evening circus show with water acrobats and they showed amazing balancing skills and everybody was just stunt from that show. It left many people speechless after the show. Overall we had a good 5 night stay. There can be a lot of improvements in cleaning and service in general. Also they didn't recognized my birthday. Just came back from a fabulous anniversary trip at this adult-only, all inclusive resort. We were in a Preferred room on the 22nd floor; Martha & Manuel were our butlers who provided fantastic service facilitating reservations, checking up on us via WhatsApp, offering to assist in any way. We checked in at the 21st floor Preferred Lounge (not lobby) and Atenas cheerfully explained what's in store for us. It was a very windy weekend but it's ok we weren't really interested in getting out of the resort, we had a great time just lounging around.... We watched the Chiefs-Bills game in the sports bar: it was packed and noisy fun, booze was free flowing and bar food was abundant. We met Chef Ernesto who presented us with delicious ribeye and picanha. He stopped by our table twice at Sea Salt and BlueWater asking if we are happy with our meals. We had dinner at Dragons and Chef Isidro prepared and served an appetizer platter for us. We felt very special! We came back one day into our super spacious suite and a 50Th bday cake and champagne was waiting for us. My most favorite treat was the in-room breakfast service. Love love LOVE it! The resort is very clean, all the servers wear hair nets, it's clear they are addressing the sewer smell issue in the lobby (didn't smell any!), the spa hydrotherapy wasn't as good as what we enjoyed in Secrets Puerto Vallarta. The gym has a gorgeous ocean view. The singer in the wine bar is great and kept us singing & dancing! Thoroughly enjoyed the all-day coffee and pastries in the lobby. We had a great time, we were initially wary of the reviews but our hearts were open to just go with the flow and enjoy each other and what's in front us. There are vendors on the beach but they didn't bother us keeping in mind that we're all just trying to make a living. Bring $1-$5-$10 bills to tip: staff work very hard and noticeably long hours. Everything about this resort was top notch. The rooms were spacious, the food delicious, and the service impeccable. We booked a Jr Suite on less than 24 hours notice. Got the preferred package. Each floor has their own concierge. Ours was Oscar. Very helpful throughout the entire stay. We thought the food was a step and a half above the other all-inclusive resorts we table stayed at in the past, especially the steak and Italian restaurants. The seafood restaurant has some of the best appetizers around. The bar staff was very good as well. About the only thing lacking was a good swim up bar. Really noticeable in this area. 100% will be back! I visited Secrets the Vine last week for about 5 days. I shared a room with my mom and it was more than enough space. We had a preferred Ocean Front Room. The preferred status is worth it because you get a private concierge daily as well as access to the 12th floor which has upgraded liquor and food. Our concierge team included Eduardo, Aldo, and Stephano. I also spoke with Alejandra from time to time. They were all exceptional, but Eduardo really went above and beyond constantly. The room was beautiful, and the food was really good. There were also so many activities. We did water aerobics, karaoke, tequila tasting, guacamole classes etc. Such a wonderful team. We loved the energy of Johnny. Thank you so much to the entire staff! read more

This is a horrible hotel! Trip was booked through United-vacations which outsources to Priceline. Even though my travel dates have not arrived, they REFUSE to cancel this reservation. There is a travel alert and safety warning about going to Cancun and for our safety, we do not want to go. My husband and I booked a 9 day trip in the secret the vine hotel. On day 6, my husband got COVID, we decided to cancel the trip and got back to US. When I checked out, the hotel forced me to sign no refund paper and explained the hotel would not DIRECTLY refund me as we booked through Costcotravel, also suggested me talking to Costcotravel for refund the unused two days of the trip. Later on secret of the vine used the paper I signed to tell Costcotravel I agreed to not get refund. I understand if the hotel doesn't refund us, but I cannot accept Secret the vine FOOlS customer. read more

This is one of the worst resorts I have stayed in Cancun. From the moment we checked in, we were lied to. All we asked to change in our room if it was possible to get a one bed versus two bed. Receptionist told me don't worry they took out the two beds and put one bed in your room. I told her oh well you guys did all that so fast thinking we were in our original room. Come to find out she just moved us more down the hallway with a lesser view. When we asked her, we wanted to keep our original room with the two beds since it was a bit much to ask and she made a face because we asked. Then for dinner my wife and I got denied entry to a restaurant because I did not have pants!!!! Really I came to vacation to relax it's hot. I did not pack pants. Then they make me go to the concierge to get pants so I could go into the restaurant concierge did not have any pants my size. Then they seated my wife and I outside in the patio keep in mind it was at least 90° sun was hitting us and the inside of the restaurant was empty still it was 6 o'clock not during rush-hour. I believe they cut a status inside my knees will not affect anybody but then again you have girls walking in with shorts going up their butt seeing a whole butt cheek, but my knees are a problem. That waiter at the steak restaurant was so rude. Our food was so cold as if we were being punished for sitting outside and making him work. One thing that I did not like the most is that they did not have a swimmer bar !!! Not only that they give you cheap tequila. I paid good money to get at least a namebrand tequila. Don't give me some knock off brand. When I stayed at some palace, don't Julio in 1970 was part of the all exclusive resort. Versus secrets each day they're selling you bugging you harassing you to buy a bottle of wine to buy a bottle of tequila to give you a seat at the dinner table. Why do you have to upsell alcohol? It should be part of the package. Then you go to a bar asking for some decent tequila and the bartender as you know I don't have that. I only have these so pick these. I don't take myself to a different bar where I know they had that tequila and they make me my drink drinks. Why do we have to do this?! Then you have people sitting inside the pool with a bottle, screaming and yelling shots when we're just trying to relax, not even hard rock does this!!!! All the workers are very rude and give you attitude whenever you ask them anything or help or assistance perfect example on our last day we were getting ready to leave. We were sitting in the front for about an hour waiting for our ride to the airport. Nobody there knew about the shuttle did not want help. Just saw me waiting there when I was ready to leave. They told me where's your checkout slip not once they mentioned to me that I needed a checkout slip. He didn't tell me to go upstairs. I go upstairs. There's a long line cause people are checking in. And I need to leave to go to the airport. A young lady approaches me asking how can I help you? I told her I need to leave and I need my checkout slip. All the tellers were being occupied until young gentleman walks by and she asked him. Can you please help him get a checkout slip. Of course the worker makes a face says this says they saying he can't and yada yada yada. I told her don't worry they're all like that. They don't want to help or want to give a hand to help. He hasn't started talking to me. I told him I do not wanna talk to you just talking we're doing you could've been helping me and checking me out already. You don't wanna help don't help. This is one of the worst hotels I stayed in Cancun. They wanna sell you everything and buy every day to buy a bottle of alcohol each day. I had to tell Juan know I do not want a wine bottle. But they keep asking and asking and asking. You're better off just going to hard rock, but in my honest opinion, I highly recommend any of the palace hotels. Sun palace is one of the best. The only person that made this trip somewhat better and had a total of failure was Isidro from the Chinese restaurant. I told them what I was going through. He told me I want you to be my special guest and boy. Let me tell you he made me feel special and gave me my wife, a special appetizer and an amazing dinner you need more workers like him. Really enjoyed the resort. It was def dated in a lot of ways but ultimately was a great place to stay. Location was great about 12 mins from The airport. Check in was a breeze, the cold towels were very nice along with the Champaigne. Rooms were great. Loved the massive shower with the traditional spout and the rainfall spout. Water pressure we good, soaps in the shower were great and quite expensive. The shower and toilet are enclosed in class and are kind of apart of the room. There is privacy but not as much as a traditional bathroom that's enclosed with walls. Beds were relatively comfy, me and my cousin did get some bug bites from the beds, def not bed bugs,or we would have been really bit up. Room also had the iPad for ordering room service and other needs. The balconies are not private but are closed off. For example there r barriers that are see through. Food at the resort was def a lot better than I expected. Wheh I say a lot better it was downright good. I think the Peruvian restaurant was my absolute favorite. The short rib, chicken soup and chixken skewers were incredible. The Italian and steak house and Asian weee great tooo. Best dishes to get at the Italian was the Gorgonzola Alfredo pasta, the carbonara. At the steak house the ribeye was great and the grilled Cesar salad with an egg was fantastic. Didn't get a chance to try the Greek. The breakfast buffet was good, not nearly as good as Secrets in Puerto Vallarta but good. They had tacos by the pool one 1 day during the week which I wished was an everyday thing cause they were excellent. They did a seafood paella one day which was great too. The pool food served at the bar was the same everyday (hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, grilled chicken, fries). Nothing special with the pool food. The restaurant that is located near the pool does have some ceviche's and tacos that they serve that are decent. Ultimately lunch is pretty average there. Room Service was good though :) Beach and pools weee great and clean. There is a bar on the sand at Secrets too which is great. Pool drink service was amazing. Spa at the resort is incredibly overpriced. There is a a spa called (Bamboo Spa) literally 20 feet from The gates of the Secrets that's cheap, clean and a much better value. Sorry Secrets, I love you guys, but your Spa prices r insane. The hydro therapy at the resort is worth it though. Service was great the entire resort. The lobby bar makes some amazing cocktails. They did a smoked hibiscus margarita and a great espresso martini. Sadly on the last day I found the cart that does Irish coffees which were some of the best I've ever had. Also the spots bar was very very nice and had decent wings. Ultimately I would go back again, however it's not the best resort I've stayed at in Cancun. It's so close to a 5 star but The resort did not AC the entire lobby and some of the restaurants, when I initially asked why it was so hot in the lobby they said the AC was broken, but later learned that the AC was not broken they just didn't want to use it. Problem is that, the lobby was so hot (82-86 degrees) at some points, you didn't even wanna sit in there at the bar. I know that sounds like a petty reason to knock a resort down but with it being as hot as it was, it literally made being downstairs not enjoyable. No one likes to sweat when they are at dinner or getting a drink. read more

Such a great place to visit. Came here with my wife for a 6 night getaway. So relaxing. Food was good, beach was great, rooms were clean and no major complaints. Would come back. The spa was excellent and reasonably priced. Only issue - we came back from an excursion one day around 5pm. We were on a catamaran so we were wearing swim wear. There was no buffet open, and no casual restaurants where we could eat dressed like that. The resort really needs a very casual dining area where people who were out all day can enjoy a meal. read more

Secrets The Vine is a beautiful hotel resort with well appointed rooms, beautiful grounds, four pools, many restaurants, bars, spa, and more. It's an extremely comfortable experience and the personnel is so helpful, accommodating, etc. It's as though management has developed the Chic-Fil-A culture of WANTING to make sure their guests are well taken care of and several times when thanking the staff, they stated "My pleasure." Poolside service is great! Restaurants are good. Breakfast buffets are good, with many food options and omelet station. It's tough to keep everything hot at a buffet. So, items under heat lamps struggle. So, we opted for fresh made omelets. Delicious. Dinners are very good. Don't be in a hurry. You're here to relax. Somewhat ala carte, these restaurants portions are smaller, which is beneficial to the person wanting different flavors, textures, etc. so, don't be shy ordering multiple items. Blue Water was great. A steak house style restaurant. Empanadas (must try), salad, soups, steaks, etc. were delicious. Just make sure your steak is cooked to your desired temp. Nebbiolo Italian, was also very good. Again, ala carte style. Salads, pasta, fish dishes, chicken Parmesan, beef gnocchi, etc. all great flavors. Second night we went, consistency was a challenge. Focaccia bread was rock hard and pastas were under the heat lamp too long. Olio was a bit of a struggle. Mediterranean food. Seemed limited and not what we were after as far as cuisine. It was our first night, 9pm, just arrived and we were hungry. All restaurants were a 30 minute wait. So, it was our only choice. We did not go back. Dragon restaurant was delicious! Thai, Chinese, and Japanese food, tapas portion sizes, so order many items. Sushi was four small pieces so again order a couple. Dim sum, gyozas, wonton soup all good. Sea Salt was ala carte, Peruvian food by the pool and it was just okay. Burritos are similar to a chimichanga (deep fried). Coffee bar was exceptional and dessert were plenty. Overall a great experience. One recommendation, request a room away from the Hard Rock hotel side. Almost every night, loud music played from the rooftop next door. Entertainment was a little limited at night. We had high wind and rain a couple days, so I'm sure that may have been part of the struggle. read more

I stayed here in Jan 2024 in the Preferred Club section. This newish all-inclusive is one of the tallest buildings in Cancun, providing excellent views of one of the best stretches of beach in the region. So at this time, let's talk about... **The room** Ours was a 24th floor Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View King. It had a decently comfortable but somewhat hard bed, a twin-headed shower that could accommodate 12, dual sinks, a stocked (but not regularly-restocked) fridge, and a long balcony with odd see-through slats separating adjacent balconies. The TV was a bit small-ish and quite far away from the bed, with limited channels, but that's not why you're in Cancun, friends. There was way too much furniture for 2 people, including a psychiatrist couch which reminded me of the ones that used to be in the rooms at the Vegas Cosmopolitan. (This hotel was built same time as the Cosmo, must have been a thing in 2011) The thermostat required 2 visits to repair and was falling out of the wall, revealing previous fixes involving electrical tape. **The food** Food was hit-or-miss, particularly considering this all-inclusive's price point and intended clientele. The Bluewater Grill steakhouse was excellent; we visited twice. The Oleo Mediterranean restaurant was very good, although the ever-present cornhole game on the beach combined that restaurant's name evoked an image of Beavis. The Dragons Asian-fusion restaurant warranted two visits; while the food didn't taste exactly like Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc it provided generally very good variations. The Nebbiolo Italian restaurant was disappointing. Food not so great, and not worth the long wait. Want to be seated right away and get a nice view? Commit to buying one of their "premium" wines, which included the various 19 Crimes blends that retail at home for $12, and which they sell for $100. That's gotta be the 20th Crime. Stick with the house Chilean merlot or cabernet by the glass, and you'll be just fine. The buffet had good food but dining was very warm. No matter where you sit will make for sweaty breakfasts, from the windows, to the walls. Snack places were pretty good, but had limited hours. Sometimes all that was available was sorta-warm burger patties or an erroneous room-service delivery. **The facilities** So many other reviews had a nose for this one: yes, most of the first floor has hints of butt. Once you're in an air-conditioned room (restaurant or bar), it's gone, but it's always there to greet you when you exit. It's not overwhelming, but once you know it's there, you can't supress remembering that. The pools are large and the Club-level infinity pool has wonderful views. However, poolside and on the beach there's a serious problem: there aren't enough loungers to accommodate everyone staying at the hotel. This leads to staking of territories and hoarding -- you simply can't find anywhere to hang out in the sun shortly after the sun rises and claims are complete. Situation is only slightly less-worse by the club infinity pool. Jeez, Vine people, look at the max occupancy of the hotel and go buy exactly that many chairs -- there's plenty of room. Take a walk down the beach -- other adjacent hotels don't have this problem. That beach is just wonderful -- white soft sand, insanely clear blue water with fishies darting around, no rocks, no seaweed, no dubious foreign objects. You can walk the full 2 miles to the Party Zone and get a bus back -- no shirt, no shoes, and you still get service for 60 cents. **Your fellow guests** Nearly all are from US and Canada. Not too much of a party crowd, and the place goes to sleep around midnight. Which leads to: **Entertainment** By day, there are some pool games, also a poolside country band that scared away the falconer's pidgeon-scaring hawk. By night, there was a pretty decent magic show, the requisite Mexican Folkloric Show That Allows People To Justify Saying They Had A Cultural Experience In Cancun, a great 80's band that stopped way too early, a "crooner" who didn't stop early enough, and a nightclub that sometimes got up to 8 people on the dance floor. **Service** The club-level floors come with a "butler." Ours was helpful in getting that thermostat fixed and getting minibar regularly re-stocked (you'll be without bottled water otherwise). He was less helpful in resolving where Hyatt had booked our reservation twice. Thankfully my cell plan covers calls to US from Mexico. Every employee we encountered was unfailingly polite and cheerful, many with an excellent sense of humor, and most very very helpful. **All told** The Vine is very good, but not perfect, as our stay was marred with some service and facility issues. I'd consider it again for a future stay, especially when Hyatt points are involved. read more

Yelpkeeps prompting me to review this place. Maybe the review I wrote was on Trip Advisor. I did not like this resort. Yes, we paid for all inclusive and we got all inclusive, but we also paid for a concierge level floor and 5 tart service level. This we did not get. Our concierge was regularly absent and no staffing adaptations were made to cover the desk even though I complained. Complacency rules at this place. Management is just as complacent as everyone else. The food was just ok. The 7th floor breakfast place was probably the best, with the steakhouse next. But every night there was a line at the door for the steak house and it was not a fun experience. The buffet was awful and the room where it was held was not adequately air conditioned or ventilated. In fact, the whole first floor of the hotel was regularly over heated and unpleasant. We did like the lobby bar and we had to just it up with the temperatures. Our room was not cleaned in the mornings. Many times, it was not cleaned until we were returning to dress for dinner. This was inconsiderate, and I tried to address it with the concierge and the head of housekeeping to no avail. Only once or twice did our room get cleaned before lunch. We stayed 10 days. The pools were good, especially the concierge level one, because you could get a chair without saving it from breakfast onwards. I don't like chair saving at resorts. The restaurants here, besides being sub par (the Asian one was truly awful), seem to be independent. I asked for shrimp in my omelet one morning and was told there were no shrimp on the property. In Cancun? Plus, I knew for a fact that the lunch place from the pool has a shrimp quesadilla on the menu which I actually ordered and was served that day. They just don't go out tf the way to please guests here. That's the bottom line. One more thing, the activity staff are completely rogue. If they feel like doing a planned activity on the schedule, they do it. If not, they don't. I was depending on the water aerobics for my exercise on the trip and it was held in a haphazard way. My favorite was when they had 5 VERY expensive water bikes and 20 people showed up for class, Since the teacher took one bike there were only 4 left for others and everyone else had to just jog in place. This place does not care about their guests. The only reason it got 2 stars is that it is in Cancun. read more

This was the first time in about 20 years going to a resort so I guess I was expecting a little more. However, here is the good first. The resort is nicely laid out with quite a few different restaurants to choose from. Food is good but not great in all restaurants. Rooms are very spacious and nicely designed. There are 4 different pools that are nicely tiered with a lot of space around the water. And, unfortunately, the less than stellar qualities. The lobby, and all restaurants on the first floor are at a constant 80-85 degrees. My room in particular never got below 75 though the thermostat was set at 68 for the entire week. AC did not work well. There were some cabinet doors that were out of alignment (pic) and didn't close correctly. The music during the day by the pools was either hip hop or American rock/country. Why would I come to Mexico to listen to same top 40 tunes i hear in Chicago? lol Not very authentic. The Hard Rock is next door and sometimes had bands playing outside until 10:00. Again, same overplayed rock from the states. Some tiles near the pools were very uneven and even possible trip hazards. Signed up for some outside yoga but found out schedules got mixed up with multiple activities and it ended up being a Pilates class in the basement in a side room near the kitchen. And lastly, if you're not into staying drunk the entire trip, Red Bull will cost you. Everything is included with "resort price" except Red Bull. In fact we were denied access to a resort party because we didn't want to drink. All in all a decent place but I would not return. This place seems more geared toward younger people in their 30's as I am in my late 40's. read more

From the time we checked in things were on a downhill track and just never got better. Had issues with ac and hot water which we reported quickly. Hot water improved to scalding and almost uncomfortable level. Unfortunately the ac never got much better. After they fixed the hot water heater the outlets on half the room stopped working. Food quality and alcohol quality was disappointing. The steak was a low quality filet, poorly seasoned entrees and sides, we ordered Tito's vodka and were told that's what was being poured and it was absolute. Oddly finding out the property didn't have any premium vodka despite staff never telling you when ordering. We decided to dine off property the second night because the poor food. Outstanding meal off site and brought home leftovers. We then learned the next day the Mini Fridge was plugged into one of the non working outlets as our leftovers from a 700 dollar meal spoiled. The absolute culmination of our entire nightmare was when we made the decision to leave the property a day early and return home. The staff refused to allow us to leave without signing a form stating we acknowledged no refund for early check out. When I refused I was detained for 15 minutes until a manager realized he was going to have to physically force me to sign this form. I would like to preface this review by saying the majority of the staff at the resort were very friendly and accommodating. This one star review is specifically for the night manager, "Ramirez". I visit Mexico several times a year and have stayed at many resorts, including multiple Secrets resorts. This is the first and only terrible experience I've had. My husband and I had two of our friends and two of our family members in our room, and we called room service to request pizza for 6. The individual who answered said he could only bring pizza for 2, which we were fine with and said we'd make that work, no problem at all. Ten minutes later, the night manager, Ramirez, called our room and began screaming at my husband and threatening to send security for "having unauthorized guests in our room." My husband was extremely apologetic and agreed to ask our guests to leave. I could hear Ramirez yelling over the phone from where I was sitting across the room. If we were being loud, disruptive, or disrespectful in any way, then I suppose I could understand the harsh response/lashing out, but his reaction and way of handling this situation was completely out of line and unprovoked. We were on this trip for a company event, and there were several leadership members in neighboring rooms, so we were being very cognizant of being quiet and respectful, no music playing, no TV on, windows/patio door closed, and quiet conversation. Our guests went to their neighboring rooms, and my husband went down to speak with Ramirez and apologize in person. While there, he asked if it was a rule at all Secrets resorts to only have two people in a room at any given time, to which Ramirez responded "I'm the manager so if I say that's the rule then that's the rule." Upon returning to our room, there were multiple security guards standing outside of our door to make sure our four guests left. Ramirez then told my husband he would be watching us on the cameras inside our room to ensure we did not invite anyone in, to which my husband responded, "you have cameras inside the room you are watching us on?" and Ramirez said yes. The woman working at the front desk with Ramirez quickly corrected him and tried to assure us there are not cameras inside our room, but regardless of whether there are or aren't, the threats and intimidation were quite extreme and completely unprovoked. I will never stay at another Secrets resort after this experience, and I will be sharing this encounter with any friends or family considering this resort in the future. read more

I want to share a bad experience I had at the Secrets The Vine Cancun hotel. I had $500DLS in my wallet which I left on the loungers while I was in the pool. I thought I was in a prestigious hotel where robberies do not occur and it is safe, confident that no one will grab my things and what happened later was that when I returned from the pool my money is no longer in my wallet. The first thing I did was go to reception and they sent me to the concierge, to which they asked me to fill out a report and then they went to my room to check all my suitcases. After that they told me that they would check the cameras and get in touch with me. Later I received a call from the chief concierge called Erika and she told me that she had looked at the cameras but that nothing had happened and she told me that if there was no evidence they could not do anything. I am very upset because we paid $4,200 DLS for 5 nights and it is not possible that in a hotel like that I can't leave my things without the worry of my money being stolen. If you plan to stay in the hotel it would be good if you were careful since your belongings will not be safe. read more

First time in Mexico and we had a wonderful time! Hotel was really nice/clean. We did get talked into paying $300 more for an upgrade... which I thought was worth it. We were higher up level, had infinity pool access and a 50 min hydrotherapy etc We enjoyed our time at all the onsite restaurants. Staff members were all friendly, helpful, and attentive. It's also adult only, which is quiet and more chill. I have not stayed at any other Mexican resorts, so I have nothing to compare to --- but overall, we had a really nice time. read more

This hotel is lovely. Top notch rooms, pool options, beach loungers, very clean. The people are super friendly and for the most part there is someone to help with anything. I would say they could use more pool service members. Getting a drink at your chair is a little difficult but that's a first world problem bc there are two bars you can walk up to. The restaurants were ok. Food was either super good or meh. I found the apps, soups and sides to very good but the mains to be lacking. Wish the food had been more fresh and not pre-prepared but beggars can't be choosers haha. For the most part was very good. Food service was VERRRRRY slow. Would take an average of 40 mins to get a basic lunch. We will 100% return again and often. read more
