--- **Long Overdue Review for Paradise Tint** This review is long overdue, but I wanted to share my experience with Mel from Paradise Tint. Over the years, Mel tinted two of my cars: a 2005 Subaru and a 2008 Subaru. I'm not sure if Mel still owns the business, but back in the day, he was truly on top of his game. Mel's business was based in L.A., but he drove all the way down to my home in Irvine. Each time, he tinted my cars in my garage (not the driveway), which was incredibly convenient. Mel arrived on time, was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He had a wide selection of films with him, readily available for me to choose from. For both of my Subarus, I opted for a metallic tint. I can't recall the exact specifications, but I remember selecting a blackout-type tint for the back and rear passenger windows and a slightly lighter tint for the driver and front passenger windows. This was before ceramic films became popular, so metallic tint was the way to go. The results were outstanding. Mel made my Subarus some of the best-looking cars in Irvine. His work was impeccable, and the pricing was very fair, especially considering the convenience of having the work done at my home. If Mel is still in business, I highly recommend Paradise Tint for anyone looking for a polished, professional tint job. Mel, thank you for your spectacular work. My only complaint.....why didn't I do this sooner. I've been cruising around in a hot black car with leather seats for two years. My car gets hot. Really hot. Easy breezy super easy. Dropped Vader (yes he has a name) off at Honda. Paradise came to pick up my car then they brought it back. Lifetime warranty. What more do I need? Let me tell you. My leather seats on a hot summer day are gone forever. I went with 35% just to avoid any extra attention to the car. Maybe in my younger days I would of gone really dark. I just purchased my new 2018 Toyota Camry and it was in dire need of some tint. Those leather seats were killing me in the summer heat.   I had heard good things about this shop from some coworkers, but I didn't really want to trek all the way out to Gardena from central OC. Am I glad I actually bit the bullet and went to Paradise because they do quality work and offer great service!   I met with Larry and he helped me pick which shades would look best on my vehicle, especially since it has 2-tone white and black paint. I let him know I was going to be spending a day in LA at one of those little pop-up museums so I needed to know how long the car would take. He quoted me 4-5 hours. Dropped off my keys and went off to take my basic photos at Candytopia in Santa Monica. 4.5 hours later, I got a call letting me know my vehicle was done.   When I got back to pick the car up, I was blown away. The 2-tone paint looked amazing with the tint choices that Larry recommended. I inspected the installation and it was impeccable.   The price was extremely reasonable and there's even a lifetime warranty.  Everyone should come here to get their tint done. Paradise Tinting did the tint in my Mustang GT 3 weeks ago and did a very poor job. Mel and his wife Janet came to my house to do the installation but still not completed because the side window and the back windshield need to be replaced due to air bubbles. In addition Mel his nickname also took the deck lid of my Mustang to put a film on my GT emblem but never came back to install it. It has been two weeks now and never heard from them. I called Mel & Janet and left messages but no response. I'm filling a lawsuit against Paradise Tinting for not completing the job and for not returning the deck lid of my Mustang. Paid $330 for tinting my windows. This place doesn't have a set price. You'll be quoted anywhere from $120-380 depending on your vehicle. Just going off the endless phone calls I over heard them having while I spent about 6 hours sitting around waiting for my car to get finished. They spend a lot of time answering the phone and kind of messing around. Definitely could've made my car go quicker. They had an underage kid tinting my back windows which didn't come out too good. It's a family business so I guess that's ok. Since covid and all. But for $330 I should've went to the alameda swap meet and paid $100 to get my car done. Had I known. Definitely wouldn't have came here. All in all. My window tint has a 5 year warranty which I expect to be able to use. So 3 stars I guess. read more
