It's located in Gulfport, MS very near the interstate, which makes it very easy to get to. You can buy your tickets online, at the counter or through a discount online ticket seller - which is what I did for our last visit. I was able to save $11 per ticket. They open at 10:00 and I suggest getting there early because it gets crowded in the afternoon. The employees check all bags before you are admitted into the park, and I appreciate their concern for everyone's safety. Once in you can find a lounger, or table and chairs with an umbrella. This is your best option, as it gets hella hot out there. I've only been able to snag one a couple of times. They're a popular item for good reason. Now for the fun stuff: There's a large wave pool that pushes you into the lazy river. There are entrances and exits along the lazy river where you can hop in or out to move around the park on foot. If you're a water slider, and who isn't, you're in luck. There are several and they're pretty nice. You can ride alone or in pairs on most of them. There's also one of those huge racing slides. It's fast and I really get a kick out of it If you plan to eat there plan on spending a few bucks. At the main cafes they serve pizza, hot dogs, grilled chicken, burgers and chicken tenders. I had a grilled chicken sandwich on our most recent visit and it was actually quite tasty. There are two sets of restrooms and one of them was out of commission on our last trip. It seems that one of the toilets had overflowed. The other bathroom only has 2 stalls so it was kind of a cluster. It's in the building where the changing rooms are located. The ladies' rooms are always as clean as they can be in a water park, I guess. Other notes - there are lockers available for a fee, there's a gift shop for necessities, dippin dots truck, sweets "booth" that serves ice cream, funnel cakes, etc., taco truck, and cabanas that can be rented for a fee. I think my favorite thing about Gulf Islands is that it's not enormous and I can usually keep tabs on the kiddos without too much hassle. I'm quite the helicopter mom, so that's important me.

On another visit I show up with my passes and my guest only to be told I cannot enter on this day with a guest without paying an extra 50 dollar fee. They have now decided that only non working people Monday - Thursday can enter with a guest in which they've already paid for. This is after several other occasions of allowing guests in on Friday- Sunday. Make up your mind! Take care of the customer. Make it right for everyone!

Paying around $9 per person for a single family go-kart ride felt expensive for what you get. While I do think the admission price is a little expensive, the overall experience made it worth it. The course was clean and well maintained, and I also noticed that parts of it were handicap accessible, which is a nice feature. Overall, I'd recommend Pirate's Cove if you're looking for a fun activity in the area. The price is my only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

We travel to parks around the world and occasionally we find one that really misses the mark and…read morethat right here would be OWA. First off I must say I feel very bad for their associates as the lack of shade here for them is quite concerning as we visited on a cooler day and after just a short time in the park we could feel how brutal the sun really is here and for those working without shade this is completely unacceptable that they treat their associates like that as you can definitely feel that it takes it's toll on them! They have a small collection of rides with around 90% of them being from the Zamperla catalog with their standout attraction here being the notoriously bad Thunderbolt 681M roller coaster that they named Rollin' Thunder which I found the name fitting because this coaster without a doubt felt as if it had flat spots in the wheels as when it cycled it was almost as if you were on a pogo stick with the amount of bouncing that the train made whole proceeding through it's course making for one terrible ride from start to finish. It was also very concerning how much their ride operators didn't care about people having loose items out on the rides as this person had their phone out filming while I was on the train with them which is very dangerous and can kill someone as this coaster goes at about 55MPH and having that fly off and hit you could be devastating! See my picture where you can clearly see someone loosing their hat because the operators failed to tell them to take it off! We did a few laps around the park and rode some of the flat rides with them being the Zamperla Air Race, Zamperla Endeavour, Zamperla Wild Mouse Coaster and a few others which are all very different from one another but nothing unique to make it standout enough for us to really ever want to come back here again. Their Mystic Mansion attraction was terrible as our guns didn't work so we just pretended to shoot things to entertain ourselves occasionally getting some of the targets to work it became more of a game for us of how many targets can you get to work which was just laughable by the end of the ride. This shooting dark ride is a clone of the Boo Blasters type of ride built by Sally Dark rides with numerous others of the same style across the country so I've definitely been on my fair share of these this year alone and this had to have been the worst one of them with how nothing worked. We didn't feel the need to visit their waterpark as it just wasn't on the agenda for this given day as by the time we had rode a few things and walked around in the sun for a bit we were totally over being here as there really isn't enough to spend a whole day here and better yet there isn't enough shade for anyone as I could feel the sun taking its toll that fast and that's coming from someone who spends a lot of time at parks especially in the summer. Overall you can tell that this place is in desperate need of some new attractions that stand out and that their parent company doesn't care about their associates as with the lack of shade and with what some of them told us it was quite clear that they aren't important to them when they are here to support the guests coming in to have a fun day.

There are a wealth of rides across several different ages, and park admission includes Storyland access and unlimited City Park train rides. It'll be a blast for the kids, and they won't get tired of it; I've also never been there when lines were long. My only issue is that the park is staffed by mostly (but not all) rude young adults (perhaps teenagers but hard to tell) who have no desire to do an efficient or effective job. I'm not even asking for you to go above and beyond to make it special for kids; simply doing your job would be nice. Saying rides are on hold while you sit and do nothing, claiming that the a particular ride only rides every 10 minutes, cutting rides short on purpose (they literally would say it out loud), and so forth are all indicative of issues that could be easily fixed.
