Super fun little spot. I thought the price was good for the value. We enjoyed the birds and loved the ray pool. The dolphin and sea lion show were underwhelming. The music played during the dolphin show was repetitive and loud and we couldn't hear a word the host was saying. Tried to tell the girl in the booth but she did nothing to adjust the volume of the awful music.

The animal shows are about 30mins each. Kinda perfect for my adhd kid. They had a lot of interesting things for my 9 year old. He liked seeing the whale skull and alligators. He also enjoyed the bird show. He's seen dolphins and other mammals before up close so he wasn't as impressed but he still liked the shows. He wants to go back and do a water adventure with the dolphins. We spent a few hours here and we didn't play on the playground, eat anything, or see the alligator show. There's also an area I believe where you can go and birds will perch on you. We didn't do that either. But would've been fun. Definitely would go back.

We had a blast here. Awesome people. Fair prices. The shows are super cool. My daughter was 2 at the time and was amazed by the dolphins and sea lions. We got to pet sting rays at the aquarium. She enjoyed the park and bird shows as well.

Such a cute place to visit. My kids enjoyed the shows and the touch tanks. And the price isn't bad at all either!

Went on a field trip with my daughter. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had lots of fun. They have shoes for different animals that last roughly 20min...bird, dolphins, and sea lions. There's also showings and touching of the animals and different locations through out the facility. Play area for the kids as well as gift shop and food.

Very nice exhibits and friendly staff

We really enjoyed ourselves. We visited this place about 6 years ago. Our little boy wasn't walking then of course. So, he was able to truly enjoy this time. We arrived around 10 or so and was able to enjoy the sea lion show. It was really nice, short and sweet. It didn't drag on and incorporated something for the adults as well as the kids. I won't give away the deets, you must go and see for yourself. Afterwards we caught the train and we to venture around the museum and the touch sting ray pool(yes, you get to touch them). It was all very clean and the staff was really happy to have us there. Our little one is a little rocket ship so we caught the dolphin show (which was awesome, I want one) and called it a day. That show was a true treat and very intimate. The way the arena is set up everyone has the opportunity to enjoy. We will definitely return..

My girls thought the dolphin experience was worth every penny. They had a great trainer, learned a lot and made great memories. It was super cold the day we went but it didn't dull the fun.

This place may seem like there's nothing here because the map is pretty small but some people don't know about the second section of the park because it's kind of out of everyone's sight. The first place had a dolphin and sea lion arena. It also had a stingray pond where you could pet the stingrays. And the last place was a bird feeding are where you can buy sticks and they will come up to you. Once we finished there we went to the second area and it had a whole bunch of facts about dolphins and the other animals there. I the back they had a place with fish, snakes, starfish, and smaller stingrays. We spent about three and a half hours here because some of the shows were time consuming. But this place is actually really cool for the cost.

This was a huge surprise! I was expecting a small show , but it had everything that the big show venues have and more! Love that my grandson could touch the stingrays, his favorite. The bird, reptile, dolphin and sea lion show were each in a shaded area ( much needed on 100 degree day) the little train that shuttles between shows was great. Would recommend this for young and old alike . Loved it

There was a dolphin and sea lion educational show that was really fun but my highlight was the opportunity to be kissed by a sea lion!

You can tell that the staff are educated and care very much about the animals. It is all very clean and well-kept. It took us about 2 hours to sidle through and look at everything. It's a good outing for an afternoon. Part of the facility is outdoors, with exhibits for the beavers (They have beavers!! So cute!!), the dolphins, the otters, and the local gators and wildlife. They have a penguin exhibit that is in the works and coming soon. The rest is indoors in a nice building. You go up to the top floor and work your way down through the various exhibits and tanks. A big part is outside, so you should check the weather before you go and be prepared to deal with whatever. There is a public parking garage right next door, but we parked across the highway at Jones Park and walked over to the aquarium. There is a nice pedestrian skybridge over the highway that makes it easy and safe.

Got here as it opened, they have a military discount at the ticket office. I enjoyed the outdoor exhibits, but the indoor exhibits are much more expansive and beautifully put together. They have a touch tank and a lot of interesting information posted everywhere, so come prepared to learn. They also have a bird exhibit that you can walkthrough and see animals close up! They also have a concession stand, and a gift shop at the exit.

It is so inexpensive and a great place for all ages. Even as an adult, I enjoy and learn from the museum. They continually have relevant events and special weeks/days throughout the year with themed celebrations and activities. As soon as you child is mobile, this would be a fun museum to visit regularly. We go once a week and spend an hour or two in one of the many themed rooms/areas and I don't see my child ever tiring of visiting here. There is an outdoor playground, outside "kids street" mini town, and inside there is a dedicated area for younger children, and themed areas including STEM, outer space, grocery, crafts, and many more. Now keep in mind that membership is CHEAP so don't expect the latest and greatest toys, activities, and technology. Cleanliness isn't stellar but I have never had any issues here with staff, hygiene, or my child being bored. I would highly recommend a membership here over the aquarium! So much more to do for all ages and a great rainy day activity.

For what was working and present it was ok, nothing too crazy. Probably wouldn't recommend for 7+read more

It's an old institution, and is often working to improve their historic exhibits to better serve their animals as well as their visitors. When I recently visited, the sea lion exhibit was being improved. They still had a sea lion show, and I was there at just the right time to see one of their sea lions enjoying an enrichment event. The exhibits are designed to provide a spacious and natural environment for the animals, while allowing the visitors to observe them. In some cases, this allows several species to inhabit the same exhibit, which is a more natural setting. This is definitely a well planned and managed collection, and helps the visitors understand to need to conserve our natural environment. The zoo has a great Louisiana swamp exhibit, which also helps the visitors learn about the cultural history of Louisiana. There are native animals that few might see in nature, but which the visitors can learn about in this setting. These include Alligator Snapping Turtles, and Louisiana Black Bears. There's plenty of places for the visitors to eat, drink, and buy gifts. These are found in convenient locations throughout the park. It's a great experience and especially good for families.

We didn't really encounter anyone that worked there that smiled to say hello or goodbye. It was so nice how the zoo is thoughtfully set up for families. Lots of places to sit down and view the animals. The day that we went, because it was now closer to closing (we were there for about three hours) the animals must have been brought inside before 5pm. It made it difficult to see some of the wildcats because they were inside. The park staff does end up doing some pop up discussions. We attended one with the gorillas and it was interesting to hear about them. The giraffe feeding station has been closed due to construction. *** unsure when it will reopen but would like to share this as it was disappointing to arrive and discover this. The Asian elephants were interesting to see and learn the difference between the African and Asian elephants. I felt like the animals at this zoo and the habitats looked like they could use a little more upkeep. With it being spring and all, the leaves were in all their water habitats. We enjoyed some salt water taffy while we were walking and this was a nice treat.
