A great excursion. We learned a lot about oysters, shrimp, and their efforts for conservation. We saw shrimp, squid, puffer fish, fish and crabs. A hands-on trip. Just the right amount of time on the water. Would definitely go again. I'm sure you would learn something new each trip. read more

Despite being a rainy day, this was still a fun trip. The captain started off by giving an overview of how they got the business started and what all they do. Then you get to board the boat and go around dragging the net for shrimp. Once we caught a bunch of sea creatures, he explained in detail what all the fish and shrimp and other sea creatures were that we caught. This was fun for the whole family and small children will enjoy the trip as well. The boat does not go very fast, so no need to worry about sea sickness. And the water is pretty calm. Overall we enjoyed the educational trip and getting to play with a few of the fish in the sea. read more

We had a nice time in our trip yesterday. My son loved being able to go on the top deck to look out and come back down when the catch was being pulled in. He allowed everyone to touch anything considered safe from the catch which my son really loved. Very friendly and knowledgeable team running the boat. What a fun activity to do while visiting Biloxi! The gentleman who hosted my family was entertaining and filled with great information and interesting facts. The boat was safe and comfortable. My family of about 25 members fit on the boat. Everyone, from the youth to the elders had a good time. We were able to experience the shrimping process and were amazed at the sea life that was rangled in, including beautiful blue crabs and interesting fish. Always a big hit when I have friends and family visiting! With shrimp being the centerpiece for most meals when visitors come to the coast, this experience to learn about the industry, local economy and the sea life! I took my family including my two nephews (6 & 3) and they loved seeing the nets get put out, what got scooped up, and being able to hold the shrimp! The boat ride is smooth and pleasant with seats below and on the top deck. The staff is personable and entertaining while always knowledgeable. We took the trip yesterday and it by far exceeded our expectations. A really well narrated experience by the captain, Mike, and Billy the deckhand, a pair of authentic Cajun fishermen. They truly want to tell the public about their sustainable industry (oysters and shrimp), and they do a great job. I learned a lot, especially about the Gulf of Mexico and its unique ecosystem. These genuine conservationists work hard and are living the life! It should be a great school trip for kids of any age, I wish I'd had something like this when I was at school. This was such an unexpected pleasure trip. I wanted to learn more about fishing and shrimping. This was a great way to learn. We went out with a full boat and we learned all about shrimp. How to spot good shrimp, what to look for when shopping, and how they freeze seafood! I have been to Biloxi often and wish I had done this trip before. This would be great for all ages. The captain is so knowledgeable and will answer any questions you may have. Then I learned that they take people out to fish and it's not hella expensive. Since I have never done it before I didn't want to pay almost 1000 and be scared. This was a fantastic trip. My family (two adults, kids aged 5, 9, and 13) stopped here while passing through Biloxi, and it was worth every penny. The pre tour lesson on oyster growing was interesting and we all enjoyed hearing about the work our boat captain and his daughter have been doing. The trip aboard was educational and entertaining. Our captain was engaging and did a great job connecting to the kids. There was also a couple from out of the country who struggled a bit with the language, and the captain was incredibly kind and understanding when working out payment with them. We caught a bunch of different sea life and got a lesson on all of them. Definitely recommended this tour! read more

This was a very fun trip! The man running the trip, David, was very kind and personable. He took time to educate everyone on various different topics that make the fishing industry what it is, not just talking about shrimping; this included topics like economics, farming, and even the coast guard! He identified everything that he caught and was very educational about how it was used in todays market, whether it was sold on the docks that we departed from, or turned into something sold on shelves. I really appreciated that he let us move around freely seeing as the experience is over an hour and it can get uncomfortable sitting in the same spot for so long. In addition, he gave us great recommendations for restaurants in the area, seeing as most of us were from out of town. I highly recommend this experience, it is a great price for what you get to do! I will also say, there were a plethora of children on our ride, and the captain was very kind and letting the children be involved in the show-and-tell process. We have taken this trip several times. The guys are so informative and tell great stories. The "mom and pop" or "little guys" shrimping business is explained with tips on when to buy shrimp off the dock for super cheap!! There is a time for holding what is caught in the net while each little sea creature is described. Overall a wonderful experience for anyone new to visiting Biloxi. Well worth the time and fare for the trip. Very educational. Be sure to get to dock about 30 minutes prior to sailing time as great information about how clams are cultured. Was awesome experience! The two men (Mike? Dave?) that run the cruises are very interactive and friendly with humor interspersed. We got to see how shrimp are caught in net and what other types of fish can get into net. We're Able to hold various fish also. Got up close and personal! Not a glamorous boat, it's a working boat so don't expect fancy. It's all about seeing how shrimp are caught. I def Recommend it. Was great learning experience! read more
