We have been taking our Morkie for grooming to Umberto for a number of years now. A puppy cut always done to perfection.

I have taken my Westies to Humberto for about 15 years. He is a no-nonsense, pragmatic guy. He loves dogs but is not sentimental. His charges are fair. The very few times that a mistake was made, Humberto was upfront about it and offered to not charge. What I'm referring to is an uneven spot on my dog's back because the clippers slipped. He wanted to cancel the charge for the grooming, but I would not allow it, because one mistake is meaningless with his lengthy record of beautiful work. Yesterday I had to go to a new groomer as I am leaving town and my beloved groomer has been ill. The man was extremely nasty and cut my darling senior dog on the feet and pee-pee. When he called me to pick up my boy I asked him if he could let Happy out to pee and he told me he didn't have staff for that. I have NEVER encountered a nastier, incompetent, and less compassionate groomer in my life. On top of that, the scummy, dirty younger groomer who actually did the groom was disgusting and I would NEVER allow such an unprofessional looking individual near my dog. He cut his gorgeous long lashes off, and did a choppy terrible cut, and charged me $70. Please stay away from this hideous business! read more

So disappointed ... Have taken my dog there many times in past. Although not happy sometimes with time taken, generally very happy with cut. This time - so disappointed - Humberto burnt his back with a too close cut and covered it with hair. I just discovered it this evening when the dog on my lap ... How sad for him!! I knew he was unhappy, but have been too busy since picking him up earlier to find out the cause ... Too bad dogs can't communicate. read more

Our dog has been ABUSED at "Paradise Pet Salon"- the first layer of his skin from his private parts has been stripped off, resulting in serious wounds and burns. The consequences of 6 hours length of service in the salon, have changed our dog to such extent that he is now constantly shaking and refusing to go for a walk and this has been lasting already a week after he has been "serviced". We have documented everything and have taken pictures and videos of what Umberto and his staff have done to our precious puppy. We have filed a claim with the animal protection agency and we have submitted a report and have a case with the police. STAY AWAY from this place and his creepy owner! I am sharing what has happened to us, hoping that we can save another animal from the cruelty at Paradise Pet Salon! read more

We are from Jacksonville and go out of our way to bring him in whenever we are visiting Naples because of how amazing they make him look! The staff is friendly and timely. This is the worst pet salon I've ever used in Naples. It explains why they were able to take my puppies at short notice. All the others I called did not have an opening till mid April!! I was charged $75 for each Maltese puppy for a crew cut. I could hv done this myself. To add insult to injury they demanded cash or a check. Imagine that. I wonder why? Lousy business. So I went back to this groomer and the first time they didn't give me my receipt but it was ok, the second time I went back and left my puppie went to pick him up and ask how much I owed them , paid no receipt again and the employee got me in my car to tell me she didn't charge me for the shampoo antiflea because they found a bunch of fleas on my dog, if they wanted 10 dollars more I would it pay but then I received a phone call from the owner telling me they found only 4 fleas on his beard... that I will have 13 dollars credit next time I'm back. Now I don't know what got me, the fact that they wanted more money or,that they lie to me or the FACT THEY USED A SHAMPOO ON MY DOG WITHOUT EVEN CALLING ME TO TELL ME THE PROBLEM!!!. So sad because I won't go back or recommend this groomer to anyone. read more

Wow, the best grooming experience we've had in years. Our drama queen of a persian cat has the thickest densest hair and needs a lion cut if she is going to survive in the Florida heat. (Ok, at least the air conditioned comfort of her home). Since moving here 6 months ago we have been through 2 nightmarish grooming experiences. I heard about Humberto and Yoselin from a neighbor and am so glad to have been given the reference. Coco is not an easy cat to groom. She gets VERY mad...Humberto gave her the best lion cut she has had EVER, despite the challenges she presents. I really dont know how he was able to get such a smooth and perfect cut on such a difficult cat. I am so impressed. Even better, she is happy content afterwards. I have been to many groomers, but Umberto is one of the best. His salon is immaculately clean! It is chic and unique. I take my black standard poodle there and he does excellent work! Granted, he takes a bit longer, but look folks, do you want a bad quick job or a fab job that tales a bit longer. My dog looks like black velvet! He does a teddy bear face and puupy cut. Another great experience for my dog and for me they're patient and kind and do a wonderful job on my Remy a little Shih Tzu Yorkie mix with ( at times) an attitude about being groomed. They've made my dog a believer she doesn't mind going and she looks great when she comes out I would recommend it to anyone... five stars for Paradise grooming. read more

Humberto assured me that he did not put dogs in a drying crate, (a concern after a big-box pet supply store killed a dog that way). Had my dog sent there for a cut and wash. The owner Humberto answered the phone and had me bring her in. I dropped her off at 2. Humberto seemed like a nice fellow although he and his staff are not very personable, I had to force a handshake and a smile out of him. I reluctantly left my dog with them, hoping that they were dog people and not people people. I had to call in at 445 to see if she would be ready by closing time at 5. I got there at 5 to see them rubbing some kind of cologne on her and then one of his assistants bringing her up to me. My dog had heard my voice and was overly excited to leave so she pulled the assistant to the front to where I was . She had their leash around her neck and my harness for her was way tighter than when I dropped her off when I was trying to put it in her. My dog wouldn't sit and the associate started SCREAMING at my dog sit and lay down ... She was clearly frustrated and had been screaming at her for the entire time she was there. No wonder my dog wanted to leave so bad. I firmly told her she's fine I've got it from here and she stormed off. I asked Humberto how much and he said 60$ for the nails and bath .I said but I wanted her cut too . He said that's not what I asked for..... at that point I was so fed up with how they had treated my dog I just wanted to get her home. Needless to say these people are not friendly !! They communicate poorly. And I will not be bringing my dog back to them..... Here's a note for Humberto and his staff, you are in the business of pleasing people as well as animals and you have pleased neither. If you are not passionate about making good impressions that is very clear, hire someone who is......obviously you know how to keep the people with money keep coming through the door but we will not be back to this establishment as the experience was negative from the initial appointment call. Lose the attitude , if your overbooked, book less, and don't yell at other peoples dogs especially in front of the owner !!!!!!!God only knows what they do when the owners aren't there or they can't get a dog to sit still ..... I am buying my own set of clippers and will risk the hack job for a happy dog any day of the week. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE! Your better off spending the time doing it yourself. Unfortunately we just had another bad experience at Pet Paradise in Naples. Last time our dog visited she was sick for over three weeks and we thought maybe it was a fluke but when we arrived to pick up the dogs today they were still soaking. Their bath was scheduled for an hour and a half earlier. They smell awful and were shivering and wet when said we wouldn't wait any longer. The staff was uncaring and changed their stories multiple times about what happened. More than anything was the lack of interest in the animals and our concerns. A big disappointment. read more

I took my dog here for 3 years and they never seemed to have any idea who I was or what my info was-always a scrap of paper jotting down numbers, etc. But last year I picked up my little dog (bichon) and she had been cut by Umberto or possibly he had handed my dog off to a trainee. Her ear was badly cut and they had put a glob of glue-like substance in it to stop the bleeding. We ended up at the emergency clinic that night and spent $150 to remove black sticky substance, put her on an antibiotic and return for a re-check. Umberto never even called to check on her-a piece of her ear is permanently gone and it makes me sick to think of the pain when it happened. It is also dirty there and very disorganized. I would never return (but he doesn't care since he never knows who my dog is anyway:) read more

Took my long-haired mini dachshunds here for grooming today. They look beautiful. And I didn't have to wait long to get an appointment!

I have brought my small Chinese Crested dog to this groomer more than 6 times. On each occasion the owner and or assistant do not treat me as a person or my dog more than an object, They are in a rush, seem to take in too many dogs. They take too long, routinely keeping the dog 5 -6 hours. They will not tell you what time the dog will be ready so it ties up the whole day. The dog does not go outdoors during that time. The grooming job is good. At the last visit the dog was there six hours. When I arrived, her tongue was hanging out. There was no water in the playroom dish. They said they were busy all day and had not refilled the dispenser. I asked for water. My dog gulped a lot. I asked the assistant to pick up the dog and put her collar on. I had a cast on my arm. The assistant picked up the dog by her straight front legs. That is no way to pick up a dog. My bog has had a broken leg and they have been told that. I yelled NO NO. The owner came out and never apologized. We went out to the grass where the dog voided and BM's right away. When my dog got home she vomited. Then lay on her side panting for two hours. I waited two weeks to see if I would get less angry, but didn't. I called the owner today. He said the above did not happen, he has no control over his employees and I can go to another groomer if I want. So should you. read more
