We wanted a Margarita to start but there was no bar service so we had a pint of Rickard's Red. For lunch I ordered a chicken wrap and Pooh ordered the Moe's burger My wrap was warm; the chicken was tender and the mayonnaise aioli was delicious. The fries were crispy and reminded me of a chip wagon! Pooh's burger was very tasty and juicy; it had a bbq flavour. He enjoyed his fries too I took off one star because there was no cocktails

Amazing smoked meat sandwiches and escargot. We will happily come back on our next trip to the area.read more

Good kosher food is hard to find in Canada. It's near impossible in Toronto, let alone Ontario…read more I've found one can find good Kosher food in Ottawa, but Montreal is a whole different ball game. Last time I was at Chez Benny was about 6 years ago and I'm still thinking about their Shawarma in a Laffa. I couldn't finish it and I sure as hell wanted to. Mind you, I did have a fantastic lunch for the next day. I'd put it on par with Doctor Laffa in Toronto. But it is delightful to know that there is a great option the next time I travel to Montreal (which I am severely due for). It seems from their website that they have upgraded since I have been there. Can't wait to go again!

I was dragged here by a friends with dietary restrictions. I was pretty excited to get some falafel…read morebut was unfortunately let down. The highlight was the falafel itself. It was tasty and made with green chickpeas which was nice for a change. Everything else was underwhelming. The pitas come straight from a bag without being warmed up. The salads were put in first and the falafel on top so after a few bites, all you have left is salad. Some of the salads were so salty that I couldn't eat it. Compared to other falafel I've had, it was pretty bad. It is overpriced for what it is but I was explained that this is the norm for kosher restaurants. I would not return to this restaurant.

I recently discovered this place thanks to my wonderful husband.. can't believe he kept this secret from me for so long. I wanted some fresh delicious challah bread/ rolls so he suggested Yagel Bagel.. so I was in agreement and told him to get us there asap. Ambiance: As soon as we arrived, they had about 10 reserved parking spots just for us customers which I found super thoughtful and excellent. We walked in and to my surprise a blast of fresh scent of oven baked bread just hit me and I was blinded with the delicious scent of fresh baked goodies. It was oh so heavenly! Service: super friendly and quick! They make you pick a number at the front door and you wait your turn to get served. It's always busy but the staff is Fast and super attentive. They make sure to get you everything you want in a jiffy. They are always there to please and make you happy after every visit. Product: Wholesome and delicious.. I am amazed of the freshness. This bakery makes amazing homemade bread.. however, their name suggest they are a bagel shop but they don't make it in-house.. they re-sell St-Viateur and Fairmount bagels ahaha it's alright I totally prefer they're amazing Challah rolls anyway.. something about them makes me go back here all the time. I'm now a loyal customer and will totally be back here soon ! Mmmm deeelish totally recommend.

We ended up with two dozen frozen bagels, some rainbow cakes, and delicious tuna on bagel sandwiches for lunch! We had a lovely talk with Brent and his team. The quality of the meat was second to none and the takeout and deli was delicious. Try the general tsao Chinese chicken and the old fashioned smoked turkey. Out of this world. The knishes are made in-house and they have their own homemade hummus and moroccan salads. The pulled beef was a hit at my Sunday brunch and the kosher bacon was a pleasant surprise! You can't go wrong - there's a reason this place is still around after 60+ years.

Off the top of my head: Pastrami was amazing. Hot Dogs were really good. Steaks were top notch. I typically don't rate non-restaurant shops, but this deli was out of the ordinary.

We had to stop here for the legendary smoked meat sandwich, and they did not disappoint…read more When we arrived, the line appeared to be very intimidating and long however, one line was for those patron wanting to eat in and the other ones were for takeout. The takeout line went fairly fast. We also ordered a black cherry drink, slaw and pickles. The smoked meat sandwich with extremely tender, juicy and tasty. It was a decent serving of meat so my husband and I ordered one sandwich. Make sure you don't miss this spot if you're visiting Canada..

Jewish deli sammies. Arrive hungry bc it's a good size…read moresammie. +. Ambiance is cramped tourist packed Montreal's Jewish deli like 2nd ave and Katz's. Everything is a bit smaller here ( DR, menu etc). The line snaked around for about 30 minutes depending on the size of your party. ++. Food-wise, theirs' are smoked meats not corned and more limited menu than the American delis. I had the smoked meat with double mustard on light rye with a cherry soda. They don't offer bread choices here. It was warm and came out quickly. It was a tad dry even though I didn't order it "lean" so I added a pickle. You can order it fat if you want it moist. I wouldn't order it lean here. The pickle was very ripe and added some moisture. My sandwich was delicious and hit the spot! ++. Service was fast and easy. The deli service style is very much in line with busy traditional delis with high turns found in NYC and Chicago. Helps if you know what you want when you sit down and order right away. Otherwise, you'll have to flag down the servers or wait 'til they come around again. +. Price was quite reasonable for the sandwich quality and quantity. My sammie, pickle, soda, tax and tips came to $33 CAD. =. Parking is paid street except during this Labor Day weekend, Saint Laurent was closed to vehicles. Walking and public transportation are best options. Overall,Schwartz's is a fine tuned Jewish deli serving select menu at a reasonable price. I would def visit again :) MY RATINGS - -- Inhumane -- Disgusted - Don't bother = Missed the Mark + Good ++ Better +++ EDIBLE...WHERE have you been all my LiFe!

On our 5 day trip to Montreal, we stopped here twice. The smoked meat sandwiches were great, the…read morerye bread was perfect, and while I'm not usually a mayo on beef fan, the garlic mayo was fantastic. We also got poutine which was just so-so. It's as if they offer it because everyone is supposed to serve it in Montreal. (I need to see if it's on the menu at Tim Hortons.) I also had the chopped liver, which was perhaps the best since my bubba died. For those who complain about the quantity of meat vs price, a couple of things to consider. First, 4 ounces is a perfectly respectable sandwich. If you need more than that, go to the states. Second, this is actually a kosher deli, not just kosher "style." That means prices are going to be higher. Part of that is the mechanics of supply and demand. Part of it is due to the structures of what qualifies as kosher meat. If you don't like it, eat treyf.
