They have great structure and routine for the students, I believe it helps them thrive especially in a school that is advanced with challenging material, but I know it will truly set them up to be successful adults. I have loved all their teachers! Whenever I have concerns I've always felt heard. I'm also thankful for the driveline, I know it can get crazy at times, but is so safe compared to other schools! They constantly have fun events and things for the kids to do. Our child is a transfer student from one of the Dysart schools. I was apprehensive about…read moretransferring him, but after the progress made, I have never regretted making this move. My child has progressed from being just an average student to reading 2 grade levels above the rest of the class. They are doing more complex math and science than at the Dysart schools. They also have a lot more FUN! They have field trips, assemblies, and field day. The school we came from didn't have any of those things. School has to be a well-rounded adventure or the kids will just become drones. Most of the teachers are very nice. There are always exceptions, but where isn't there the same issue? The principal and asst are very approachable and are very interested in making Carden the best it can be. Carden is a Performing Plus school as well. If you like the idea of smaller classrooms, student based learning, and fun opportunities for your child, come to Carden.

Freedom Traditional Academy.... I used to have nothing but…read morepositive things to say about this school, but sadly that is no longer the case. My kindergartener has never been in trouble, yet the other day she accidentally ripped a page from a library book. We do not condone this behavior, and I was informed that a lunch suspension would likely be assigned, which seemed reasonable given that she damaged school property. However, I was subsequently told that my 5-year-old, who has never had any behavioral issues or been sent to the principal's office, would be receiving a three-day lunch suspension for this incident. Do I think this punishment is excessive? Absolutely! She's just 5 years old, and it seems insane that for a first-time offense of ripping a page, she would receive such harsh punishment. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend sending your children to this school. While I believe kids should be held accountable for their mistakes, issuing a three-day suspension for a first offense is simply unacceptable. Thankfully, the school year is almost over, and both of my children will be transferring to a different school.

I can not say enough good things about Cimarron Springs and its teachers/staff. We noved from CA…read moreover a year ago and were nervous of such a big change for our students. The teachers my kids had last year were so helpful in getting them caught up and integrated into the existing community of students. This year we added a kinder to the mix. With 4 students attending I never feel overwhelmed. All of their teachers send weekly emails letting us know what we can expect from our children in the next week and their progress. Even the office staff either in person or on the phone has always been super friendly and helpful. The new principal deserves extra kudos for addressing the parking lot situation each day for drop off and pick up. She is so hands on she is out there everyday directing traffic in her skirt suits and heels!

I'm extremely disappointed with our experience at this school and ultimately decided to unenroll my son. This was his first time here and it was horrible! School started in August and it is currently September. I raised concerns about communication and the support he was receiving, explaining that he has ADHD and sometimes needs instructions repeated or explained differently. However, when he asked for help, he was reportedly told to ask another student instead of receiving additional support. As a new student facing a significant curriculum jump, he became uncomfortable seeking help from his teacher. I was especially concerned when he had a bathroom accident, felt unable to approach his teacher, and remained in soiled clothing all day, resulting in a rash. That same day, he became overheated and visibly red after drinking all the water he had. Although he raised his hand for more, he said the teacher continued calling on other students. He came home sweaty, with a headache, and close to tears. He had bad heat exhaustion from this experience. I was also told that when the teacher became frustrated, she slammed her hand down on the desk or table. This behavior was intimidating and contributed to my son feeling uncomfortable and afraid to ask for help. There was also an upsetting incident involving an art project. My son worked hard on his artwork, but when it was time to display the projects, his was reportedly placed in a location where it could not be seen, while the other students' artwork was displayed. This made him feel singled out and excluded. Regardless of the reason, situations like this should be handled with sensitivity, especially when a child is already struggling to feel comfortable and included in a new school environment. The school also has a bullying problem that was not handled appropriately. When my son stood up for himself, he was the one who got into trouble and was sent home with a "think sheet." It was extremely frustrating to see him disciplined for defending himself while the underlying bullying concerns were not adequately addressed. Children should not be made to feel that speaking up for themselves will result in punishment. A child should feel safe asking for help with basic needs such as using the bathroom, getting water, or understanding schoolwork. I also had concerns about the lack of communication regarding his well-being. I have not received a response from the principal and will escalate these concerns to the regional director. Because I no longer felt comfortable leaving my son in this environment, we chose to unenroll him. Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and respected. I just received a progress report showing that my child has D's, even though the school year only started six weeks ago. If that does not demonstrate how little attention is being given to whether the children actually understand what is being taught, I do not know what will. He has never experienced academic issues like this before.
