I started here as a student in 5th grade up to 8th grade, starting 6th grade I have had horrible experiences with not only the administration here but many of the teachers. Almost every year here I have been called up to the office for 'inconveniences' they believe were me just because of my 'record'. Keep in mind, I have NEVER received a detention here or at any of the schools I have ever been at, they have accused me of flooding the school, fighting, talking sexually, even have been written up for these claims, but never have I done such and their only proof was random rumors spread about me, I was purposely targeted from Mrs. Goshow & Mrs. Nash (AS Principal and Principal) due to the fact I brought up major concerns to them every year that were necessary to address. Speaking of that, if you are a parent who does not fund the school, participate in PROP, or has/has had an A+ student, you will not be listened too. My parents have been belittled and dismissed on major safety concerns regarding teachers and the facility. When it comes to the facility, you do not expect a K-8 school to be perfectly clean, but Painted Rock is disgustingly filthy; the pipes in the bathrooms leak and flood, there has been a broken window that has yet to be fixed as of the time I left (May 22nd), the floors are cracking and have stains all over them, theres black mold on the ceiling vents in the bathrooms and in office hallway, there is a hole in one of the walls, and the AC constantly gave out and leaked all over our desks from the tiles. I addressed all these problems to admin, but I was yelled at; told I was wrong, and called directly to my face I am 'sensitive' and a 'liar'. When it comes to SPED classes, they do not 'teach' your child to be better, they do not teach them how to comprehend a lesson, they automatically pass a SPED student, and it encourages low effort. No child in the SPED classes are equally cared about, some are more cared about than others, some are ignored, some are spoiled by the teachers. I know this as I had several friends from those classes approach me. There are some great teachers, but many yell, bully, and discourage. They are there simply to come and go, they do not care about their students, do nott get me wrong, they have some pretty good teachers though. (FYI: Only 80% of the teachers are qualified.)

As someone who grew up on the east coast, I am greatly appreciative that this school is available as a free charter school and not a small private school with high out of pocket tuition costs. This type of school would cost a fortune on the southeast coast.

She truly loves her job. Many teachers are younger and thus less experienced but they are bright & excited to teach. Many AZ schools are doing this I hear to to pay less for their faculty. Is it true? Not sure. Anyways, one thing this school does & I LOvE them for it is play the national anthem every morning! Nothing like enjoying my days off & being filled with patriotic pride from my kids school down the street. The population is primarily Hispanic. Though many parents don't speak English they are very involved. All school concerts are always a hit. Family orientated for sure. The front office girls deserve an award. All indoor campus is also nice. Again, those front office rock stars, such as Grace, are the gatekeepers at the front of the school & protect our babies as they monitor who enters the building. Not only is this a bad school academically but their teachers and office staff, including the principle are completely ass backwards. We called the principle to complain about the number of little girls we were seeing walking around that school in daisy dukes with their ass hanging out of the bottoms also see through shirts and midriff shirts showing their stomachs and sometimes even more. The principle said that they can wear short shorts as long as it covers all their butt (clearly they don't) and they are not allowed to wear midriff shirts or see through shirts at all (clearly they do). I asked why let them wear short shorts in the first place, she said that it is hard to find regular finger tip length shorts now days and these are the ones all the kids wear now, I was dumbfounded! Since when do we let the kids decide the dress code? I also told her, if I couldn't find shorts that covered my daughters butt I wouldn't concede and let her dress like a slut, she would be wearing pants to school. There is no reasoning with these idiots, and I am getting my kids out of this school as soon as humanly possible. As the…read moreneighbor kids come and go I see many try our local public and charter schools and Paradise always ends up being a favorite. The kids always enjoy their teachers, and they have a lot of fun little extras. The school office is now designed with locking doors and is very secure. They have a higher standard as far as curriculum, and with online access it is easy to keep track of progress. They offer before and after care which is in their cafeteria, also locked and secure with check in and id required.
