The kids were so welcoming of my son, whose first year at Legacy was the 25/26 school year and he is quite the introvert. I'm well aware of the type and quality of instruction the kids should be getting, and my son's 7th-grade group was top-notch. Thank you teachers. Unfortunately, as a former teacher there, and after reading some of the other negative reviews and comments about the principal, I pursed my lips in full agreement because the shoe definitely fits. It was nice to see other parents on here who see the same things. I'm sorry for your experience in that regard. I hope their child's teacher(s) made up for it because there are some really good teachers there. At the same time, there are some who need to learn how to leave their personal problems at home. But the students and teachers get the star. Great group of kids for the most part. Every school has its due amount of kids who are a behavior issue. To the teachers, I know and saw your sacrifice for your students. As I said, if I could give 5 to both, I would. Unfortunately, the issues with school culture that has been allowed to exist start with leadership. There were warning signs right from the beginning in 2021 that I failed to acknowledge, and were masked by the great teachers, great kids, great parents, and a principal from a different Legacy campus who I owe a debt of gratitude for showing me what high level teaching looks like, how we treat each other, and the parents who trust us with their children.

Our child is a transfer student from one of the Dysart schools. I was apprehensive about…read moretransferring him, but after the progress made, I have never regretted making this move. My child has progressed from being just an average student to reading 2 grade levels above the rest of the class. They are doing more complex math and science than at the Dysart schools. They also have a lot more FUN! They have field trips, assemblies, and field day. The school we came from didn't have any of those things. School has to be a well-rounded adventure or the kids will just become drones. Most of the teachers are very nice. There are always exceptions, but where isn't there the same issue? The principal and asst are very approachable and are very interested in making Carden the best it can be. Carden is a Performing Plus school as well. If you like the idea of smaller classrooms, student based learning, and fun opportunities for your child, come to Carden.

The teacher made it a point to MESSAGED ME AND INFORM ME OF OTHER THINGS but not mention what was MOST IMPORTANT. NOT ONLY did these terrible incidents happen but my son had been here in this school for 6 months & his main teacher still DID NOT know his name but would address him as someone else . FINALLY each time I would address my issues of concern the teacher and both principal and assistant principal were VERY CALLOUS . NO apology NO concern NO EMPATHY ... NOTHING !! Not to MENTION ALL INCIDENTS THIS SCHOOL IS VERY PREJUDICE!!!!!!

Even though this is the very first year the program is in session, the Pre-K team has been absolutely incredible. The teachers are everything a mom could hope for: caring, loving, and nurturing. They make every student feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. Their communication with parents has been wonderful, and I always feel informed. Even after just a short time, I can already see how much my child is thriving and I know they will be more than ready for kindergarten. The gals in the office are always kind to us when we come in to drop off items for the students. I like how I see the staff interacting with the students while out and about. A lot of teens in Surprise chose this school to attend even when outside the area to be assigned this school. Like any school there still will be bullies, drugs and other obstacles, but they police and security daily. They also offer after school tutoring when students are falling behind in school work or having a hard time catching on.

Crossing guards do not even attempt to walk your kids safely across the road and a 15yr old girl was struck by a car. There is no dress code as stomachs, thongs, booty shorts, and side boobs seem to be the norm. Kids apparently make out all the time as well. Someone gave my child what she thought was candy and ended up passing out because it was drugs. She passed out in the office and no one could find her. There are some great teachers that genuinely do care and try to help the students. There really isn't any system of organization when it comes to the front office.
