    Burnt roll...they were all burnt
    Diana D.

Had lunch here and the food was really good. The rolls were terrible and burnt. I had the Manicotti with Alfredo & Hubs had the Lasagna. We both really enjoyed our meals. Service was good, the older man was friendly but not overbearing. The restaurant has a nice decor and feel to it. If the rolls had been garlicky and not burnt, it would have been a 5 star homerun.

Authentic Italian food. My wife and I love coming here on the weekends after a long motorcycle ride. Excellent customer service.

We were in town for an event and never thought about Italian in little ole Bandera. Boy were we wrong. There weren't many choices so the four of us decided to give it a shot. Quite the friendly family type atmospheres were hoping for. They brought out fresh large dinner rolls that were scrumptious. I decided on the shrimp fettuccine and my wonderful wife had the baked ziti. It looked so good when it came out and piping hot. The place was fairly busy but still didn't wait that long for our dinner. Oh boy!!! It was delicious! I've had Italian all over the country and was quite shocked how good this was. The taste was incredible and so much flavor. We will definitely be back when we visit again.

Veal Parmesan - almost forgot to take a photo, was so hungry. Outstanding meal!

Excellent service, fabulous Family run restaurant. Loved the Family yelling at each other in Italian Got the Greek Salad - amazing balsamic vinaigrette dressing! Then did the Veal Parmesan, asked for meat sauce - inside of the marinara - they accommodated! Cannot beat the value!

Service is ABSOLUTELY top notch. Food is excellent. Family owned and they actually care about your experience. The pizza is great and the pasta we ordered was so good. Bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy with your food. These guys are GREAT. If you are in Bandera, give these guys a

We arrived at 6 to a little populated dining room. We were sat next to the window with the sun shining directly in our faces. The did close the curtains fryer I moved my chair to the side of the two top which was nice. We ordered the Insalata Alla Campana which had zero flavor. We asked if the could split and we were told the kitchen doesn't split plates. I would not recommend! We then ordered the roasted garlic and ricotta cheese meatballs and the Tuscan bean soup. If you go order two bowls of the Tuscan bean soup because it is amazing!1 I forgot our drinks. Hubs ordered the Fortunate Verde which was $17 dollars and very much over priced and a glass of the Rose which was mediocre at best. Our total bill was $80 before tip for appetizers and two drinks. This was a swing and a miss for us.

However this is one of the worse experiences we had in forever! Where do I begin? The hostess was super rude to us and we just figured she had a bad day. She was also rude to the guests behind us My gf got the shrimp linguine and I got the carne pizza. Pepperoni, sausage and I added mushrooms and asked for no cheese being lactose intolerant The food was good. Pizza was delicious and crust tasted homemade. We also got meatball appetizers and that was good too. We ate kinda early at 5:30pm so we wanted to take the leftovers back to out Air BNB to have for later. I had 3 slices of pizza left and my gf had half her linguine left. We literally told the waitress we wanted both packaged up to go However when I came back from the restroom only the box for the pizza was available. I asked the waitress is her linguine inside the box and she gave a stupid remark "oh I didn't know you wanted the pasta to go." Then to make matters worse she said "I also accidentally dropped a slice of a pizza on the floor so there's only two in the box". Wtf! Seriously!!! When the waitress realized I was getting pretty upset, she stated "well I didn't think you wanted me to take that slice off the floor and putting it in a box" and begin laughing Out bill was a lot and the manager or no one came by to apologize for the mistake, did not offer us anything, or even taking something off our bill. My gf and I were looking forward to eating our food later on tonight, but now we're left with two lousy slices of pizza The food itself was very good, our meatball appetizer was delicious, she stated her linguine pasta was good, and my pizza was actually very good, the food definitely was overpriced, but atmosphere was decent. However, I'm not sure if this is just this one waitress, but also started with the hostess. The entire vibes and experience was terrible. I will never come back here again if anybody ever ask about Fredericksburg or recommendations for restaurants, I would never recommend this place to anybody they need to get better training for their employees because this was total BS. Do better Alla Campagna.

There was about a 45 minute wait for our party of 7, but the hostesses were very attentive and kept us updated on timing without us having to ask which we appreciated. Bread is brought to the table with oil and spices when you're seated. The bread itself seemed like standard grocery store bread and was room temperature, which was a bit underwhelming. The food came out very quickly, which is convenient but it did feel like the dishes were prepared more for speed than detail. Most plates were fairly oily and heavy on the cheese. Prices are reasonable, and the service was efficient, so we were in and out quickly. While it wasn't a bad experience overall, it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us and it's probably not a place we'd return to. That said, I can see how it might appeal to those looking for a quick affordable Italian meal.

The husband and I decided on Italian for date night, and Bella Sera did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the place felt warm, clean, and inviting. It had that cozy, relaxed Italian atmosphere that makes you want to slow down, sip your drink, and actually enjoy your meal. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the Chicken Marsala, and as someone who absolutely loves this dish, I have high standards. I'm happy to say it exceeded them. The sauce was rich and savory, perfectly balanced with the mushrooms, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. Every bite tasted like it was made with care, not rushed, not bland, just right. My husband ordered his go-to favorite: Chicken Parmesan. He's had this dish at countless places, so he's not easily impressed. But this one? He loved it. So much so that he took the leftovers home, and actually finished them the next day for lunch. That's always the true test. Overall, Bella Sera stands out above most Italian spots we've tried. Great flavors, solid portions, and a comfortable atmosphere that makes it perfect for a casual date night or special evening out. This place is an absolute must-try. ***This review is based on my taste buds. Not all taste buds are created equal.

Under the guidance of Chef Keith Kuhn, whose international culinary background informs the menu, Valeria delivers a seasonally evolving selection of dishes that emphasize freshness, quality, and flavor. Though the emphasis is on Italian, the menu veers into other cuisines from Europe. From wood-fired pizzas to fresh seafood and house-made desserts, Valeria has earned its reputation as a rare gem in a town bereft of world-class cuisine. Having dined there numerous times, I could write a tome of a review detailing at least a dozen dishes. Alas, Yelp has imposed a draconian 5,000-character limit, so I am forced to limit my review to several standouts. Valeria's housemade bread selections put other restaurants' bread offerings to shame. The selection varies from visit to visit, but expect a generous portion of organic, warm house-baked breads accompanied by unsalted French butter, a ramekin of sea salt, and a selection of briny olives. True to European tradition, I butter each slice of bread and apply a sprinkling of salt to taste. The spicy meat lovers pizza is a triumph of bold flavors. Topped with a robust combination of pepperoni, Italian sausage, fresh jalapeños, Calabrian chilis, a mountain of shredded mozzarella, and a zesty San Marzano tomato sauce, this pizza -- my personal favorite on the menu -- balances heat with depth. The crust, crafted from organic flour, achieves the coveted Neapolitan texture: crisp on the outside, airy within. A smear of San Marzano tomato sauce provides a bright, tangy foundation, while the jalapeños and Calabrian chilis deliver a satisfying kick. The duck confit, easily the best iteration of the dish within 100 miles, exemplifies Valeria's ability to execute rustic European standards with finesse. The Rohan duck leg confit arrives succulent and tender, the meat falling off the bone after hours of slow cooking in its own fat. Paired with duck fat-sautéed potatoes, the dish offers a rich, earthy decadence, complemented by a vibrant red cabbage, beet, and red onion slaw with a dollop of crème fraîche. The interplay of textures -- crisp skin, creamy potatoes, and crunchy slaw -- creates a symphony of contrasts, while the seasoning (a hint of rosemary and thyme) underscores the duck's natural richness. It's a sophisticated yet comforting plate, one that Chef Keith was happy to make for me by special request. Thank you, Chef! The fish and chips reflect Valeria's global influences and commitment to sustainable seafood. Featuring a flaky, wild-caught fish -- haddock, as I recall -- the filets are encased in a light, golden batter that crisps beautifully without becoming greasy. The fries, house-made and twice-cooked for that perfect desiccated crunch, accompany a house-made dill tartar sauce, adding a creamy, tangy counterpoint to the fish's mild sweetness. Sourced from responsibly caught stocks, per Valeria's standards, it's a refined take on a British classic, proving that even familiar comfort food can shine with premium ingredients and careful preparation. The linguine pescatore is a seafood lover's dream, brimming with fresh shellfish and a zesty, robust tomato sauce. The clams, mussels, and shrimp are cooked perfectly (never rubbery), while the linguine arrives al dente. It's a vibrant, rustic plate that had me sweating most gloriously. On one visit, the kitchen inexplicably forgot to include the mussels, an oversight Chef Keith remedied by presenting me with a huge complimentary side dish of the aforementioned bivalves. Serendipity-doo-dah! The warm chocolate sheet cake provides a decadent finale, one that I've savored on many occasions. Served straight from the oven, this cake features a moist, fudgy center with a slightly crisp edge, its deep chocolate flavor derived from high-quality cocoa. Chopped Texas pecans add an extra depth of flavor and texture. It's a comforting yet elegant end to the meal, embodying the restaurant's ethos of quality without pretense, a sweet reminder of why Valeria stands out in Boerne's largely fetid dining landscape. Don't let its unassuming strip mall veneer fool you; this hidden gem offers an intimate atmosphere, attentive service, and a wine list that pairs beautifully with its fare. For those seeking a memorable meal in Boerne, Valeria is the best option by far.
