The food and service was great. I'm sensitive to food additives and I didn't sleep well after eating there. If you don't have my problem you will love it! read more

I came here after a recommendation from a friend. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant when we entered at 7 pm on a Thursday but that was all the better for us! We ordered the roti with beef curry, fried Haianese chicken with chicken rice, Eggplant in a claypot, Sizzling Tofu, the vegetarian Laksa. Everything came out very quickly and the service was good. Our favorites were the eggplant, the Laksa and the fried chicken! All of these items together cost around $100 including tip which felt very affordable to us for a group shared dinner. I would highly recommend this place to other people wanting to try Malaysian food! read more

Best Hainanese Chicken + Rice I've had in a while. The people serving were great too. Highly recommend the Chicken Rice set and their Roti Canai. read more

New Malaysian restaurant opened up on the Bellaire street food strip plaza. So of course, I had to go try! It's located at the very end of the plaza, where the Fat Ni BBQ used to be. We came by on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't too busy. No wait needed, we were seated immediately. One thing I noticed when I walked in was there wasn't much social distancing, but they were able to seat us far away from other tables as requested, so I can't complain much. We tried various things: Chicken Curry Laksa (my husband and my favorite!) Portions were very generous and the flavor was delicious. The soup gave a nice kick of spice, but still creamy when paired with the noodles. We also had the Fried Hainan Chicken, just to mix things up since we've already had regular Hainan Chicken multiple times. The fried chicken gave a new perspective of texture and flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed it with the side of rice and sauces! My husband got the Roti Canai with Beef Rendang. Flavors were delicious, but only comment we would make is the beef was a bit more on the tough side than we're used to. We had a slight challenge cutting up the beef to share, but overall we weren't disappointed with the dish. Experience overall was great & we can't wait to come back to try more items on the menu! read more

HainanChicken is a signature here. The execution is spot on! Service is attentive and sweet. There was a bit miscommunication in the ordering process, but the waitress sincerely apologized and the manager (he seemed to be) quickly fixed the error . Will visit again! read more

A friend at work recommended pappa's and we're glad we took her advice! Stopped in on a Saturday night and found quick parking in the garage - people were lined up trying to park in it when we left, but there were tons of spots if people would just drive up. Regarding the restaurant, we were politely greeted at the door and at the table. Our server was really helpful in making recommendations and we settled on Roti canai - beef rendang, nasi lemak (chicken curry), and char kway teow with seafood. The curry was especially flavorful (rich and aromatic) as was the roti, which was sooo flaky! A common trend in my reviews, we asked for spicy, but were left unscorched. The space is clean and cheerful. Our waiter deserves an extra thanks for keeping the unlimited fountain drinks flowing. Overall, fast, friendly, and cheap! read more

Haven't been back in a while and only a few thing has change. I believe is change for the better. The spicy foods isn't as spicy as it use to be. The portion has gotten bigger. Unfortunately, the price hasn't gotten lower but it hasn't gone up either so that's a good thing. The business has gotten a lot busier then before so it would be your best interest to go for early dinner then stop by some of the dessert places next door. read more

I absolutely love papparich !! I have been going there for awhile and decided it's about time I leave a review. I spend around $10-$20 depending on how much food I buy. I always recommend this place to people who haven't tried Malaysian food besides Banana Leaf. When I go to Papparich, I would get C3, which is the Roti Beef Rendang. It never disappoints and it's quite comforting. The decor of the place is beautiful and cozy with a friendly wait staff. Papparich is a great restaurant and I recommend people who want to try something new to go to Papparich. read more

Yummy food! Great for when you're craving noodles wide variety of food. Service was okay - nothing terrible. Family style set up

This was our first visit here & we were very impressed with the food. This Malaysian restaurant is super aesthetic and modern, and the food does exceed expectations too. The servers were very attentive and friendly. We had the plain roti canai to start with, and it came with 3 different sauces. The middle was our personal favorite, the left one was milder, while the right one was sweet and spicy. It's best eaten warm, so don't let this cool down on you LOL. We also got the char kway teow, which was with egg, shrimp, and bean sprouts. A classic stir fry full of flavor. Next was the delicious Hainanese chicken which came with a bowl of rice that was cooked in the broth flavor -- SO GOOD. We could not get enough of this rice. We also had fried calamari and sizzling tofu as well. The fried calamari was extra fried, and reminded us of fried chicken batter! The sizzling tofu is usually our go-to and it was flavorful and savory. overall, very impressed with this place and we are definitely going to come back! read more

We love Bellaire Food Street. Every restaurant and cafe is hand picked out of many contenders, so I know the quality of each one is great. This place is delicious and family friendly, and we will definitely come back! It's Singapore and Malaysian cuisine, probably one of my favorites. I attached photos of the dishes we got. My kids loved every one of those dishes as well! Appetizers - free, not pictured - preserved veggies that are somewhat spicy Roti Canai - we normally order 2 servings of this because it's so good! Crispy, buttery and delicious Chicken satay with sweet peanut sauce on side Beef Rendang is worth trying, the coconut rice is different in a good way I love flat noodles with veggies and shrimp, it came out really good! The food came out relatively quickly, overall great food experience! read more

I was actually walking towards the nearby Laos Restaurant. However, I saw that Pappa Rich has weekday lunch special menu for $9.99. That's a great price especially in these times, so I appreciate they offer it to customers. I ordered their Curry Laksa Noodle Soup. They brought out complimentary a cold, curry cabbage appetizer. It was very flavorful and good. The noodle soup was also good and surprisingly spicy. I will be back to try their Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken rice dish. The staff were courteous and to the point. The restaurant is not very big, so it may not be good for large groups. read more

I love Malaysian food and I'm soooo excited that a new place for this cuisine opened in Houston!! For takeout I had their Roti Canai (plain), Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang, and Hainan Chicken. The rotis were flaky, fresh, and delicious; they came with two dipping sauces (one spicy and one mild) which were very flavorful. The Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang was an explosion of flavor. I love the fishy taste with the anchovies (if you don't like fishy tastes you might not like this dish) and all the flavors with the vegetables and roasted peanuts! So much flavor in a single dish! Their Hainan chicken was also great, served with chicken rice (omg so good). I'd recommend everything I ordered. And I'll definitely be back!! For takeout the food was packaged well (the rotis were still flaky) and the service was prompt! The food is ready quite quickly! Parking situation: on-site read more

Amazing place to eat and try Malaysian food. I lived in SE Asia for a year in the past and eating here brought back all the memories. Beef randang was soft and had the right amount of spices (not too spicy). Curry chicken also was soft and had a generous amount of chicken. Not pictured is the sizzling pepper steak which was okay. Lychee soda was amazing and perfect refresher. Teh Tarik also great! read more

I have been here before and love the chicken rice here. However this visit my chicken is not cook. I ask the server if it is cook she reply yes, so i squeeze in the blood part for her. She then took it back to the kitchen to cook more. The server bring it in the kitchen and come back with the same chicken. Im not sure if they just microwave it, but the skin look dried. It is unacceptable to serve customer raw meat with no apology. Im not sure how they run this place but if something isnt right u cant make it seem fine!! read more

Never thought I would say this but have u had chicken that melts in ur mouth?? I just did! we loved everything we ordered! Although the curry wasn't really like the creamy Thai curry that I was craving, it's a good thin hu tiu soup base with a hint of curry flavor. All the noodles r amazingly soft n chewy. Not pictured are the satay, they were dry, and the smell of Indian spices were too strong, we didn't enjoy them. The lychee soda is super yummy. The hot milktea was too sweet for me. Service was incredible. One of the waiter who looked more like the manager was always a step ahead of everything. He brought us plenty of peppers, sriracha, and napkins without us asking. read more

The food and service was amazing and the restaurant was nicely setup. Everyone in my group was very satisfied with their meal.

Beef Rendang was on point! Seasonings was very favorable. There was flavor upon flavor built up in their curry. The Nasi Lemak was authentic! Vegetable pickles, curry, peanuts, coconut rice, and fried anchovies hit every texture note you could wish for. Looking forward to trying everything in their menu. I've had my eye on this place since they opened. My friend and I came on a Tuesday night for dinner. I was there a few min early and my waiter greeted me at the door like I was a regular, hand sanitized my hands for me, and gave me water upon seating. He was super friendly to the point where my friend (non-Asian) asked me if he was "pappa" of papparich! He was like an Asian uncle and I loved him, best customer service ever. My friend and I both got the hainan chicken - it was my friend's first time eating it - and we both enjoyed it. Rice was fragrant, meat came either white or dark, and the soup was light. The chicken was so moist! We got a complimentary Malaysian kimchi that I've never had/or even heard of before and it was also tasty. My only complaint about it was the price...$15 is steep. When we were leaving my friend and I were taking selfie's by the door and our waiter even asked if we wanted his assistance haha. Can't wait to come back!! read more

My orders were delivered by Uber Eats. The chicken curry was way beyond excellent. Really enjoyed it. Leftover curries taste far better the next day when the curries have had a chance to absorb the spices and other flavors. This was the case with PappaRich's chicken. My only peeve was there wasn't sufficient curry sauce. I also ordered the Roti Canai and discovered they serve the accompanying dahl in a condiment size container. I couldn't wrap my head around that action! I will definitely order from them again or go there in person. read more

Nothing to write much here. Exceptional food and warm, friendly service. The owner always said "cam on" and "chuc mung nam moi" which is thank you and happy new year in my language Vietnamese. The service was good, but the food was not. We ordered sizzling tofu, sizzling beef, assam fish, and the seafood flat noodles. Instead of a big pot of rice, each dish comes with a small personal bowl of rice, which they bring together with each dish. We had also ordered the sambal water spinach, but late into our meal, we were told they had to switch it to snow pea leaves. We said okay. Then at the end of our meal, they told us they didn't have anymore snow pea leaves, so we never received this vegetable dish. Sizzling tofu- just okay. Not much flavor. Sizzling beef- terrible cuts of beef that were chewy but the sauce was good Assam fish- this sauce was really good but a bit oily, small portion, and rubbery fish (how??) Seafood flat noodle- really good flavor, but they should just call it shrimp because there was no other seafood I think maybe they just really specialize in some dishes, which we didn't order. I would've given fewer stars, but the service was great. They're also very covid conscious, which was nice. read more

We have been coming to PappaRich for many months. The reason is simply this has to be the best Malaysian food in Houston, with very attentive service. Simply outstanding. The Nasi Lemak - Curry Chicken and Teh Tarik are incredibly authentic (I spent 6 yrs in Malaysia) and taste wonderful. This isn't all we've eaten here, there are many more Malaysian delights and everything has been awesome. I would highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Malaysian experience. They also take time to address all the COVID needs, so no worries there either. read more
