a joke paying $7.95 for a measly portion of hummus.
    Marc L.

The chicken pita is a very good sandwich very messy but in a good way. However todays sandwich had old brown lettuce mixed in.-not cool I had to pick out the brown lettuce. Also not cool was a $15.00 greek salad that had tasteless tomatoes, very little lettuce, an excessive amount of cucumber, a good amount of feta & kalamata olives. In addition charging .35 for dressing on the side is a joke- get real be professional Finally charging $7.95 for a very small serving of hummus is another joke. Too many " jokes " for today. Owner of Papous fix your mistakes. My only future purchase will now only be the chicken Pita until I find a better greek restaurant. I'm now on the lookout for something better,

We made a stop for a late lunch at Papous Pita after walking past it a number of times. The food we got, including a couple Gyro and a Mediterranean bowl and the special fries were really tasty. Compares favorably with similar dishes I've had overseas. The staff was working hard in the back, but got the food out to us pretty quickly. The space is fairly small but clean and has some neat decor to make sure you know you're in a Greek restaurant! A couple small complaints - our lunch, while not extravagant, was really pricey. Also, the ordering kiosk asked if we wanted to check out after adding every item to our order. The food tasted really great, which helped balance things out.

My husband and I have been here twice before and we love it! The food has incredible flavor and is cooked perfectly. There wasn't a bad thing that we have had from here. Inside the restaurant is clean and well lit with nice decorations. The man who prepared our food both times was super kind and generous too! He's got great customer service. We will most definitely be back because this is the best Greek food in Maine.

So happy to have found this place. The hummus was so creamy and delicious and loved the toasted warm pita that came with it . The owner was very nice and friendly I got the Greek salad pita $ 8.99 . The pita was overflowing with a fresh excellent Greek salad. The feta was some of the best I have had in a long time. The place was clean and we were able to sit inside and eat. We will definitely go back and try something new.

Chicken has so much flavor and you can tell the feta cheese is home made. Best chicken Greek bowl around!

Delicious! The pita bread is out-of-this-world! The salad is fresh and is just the right mix of ingredients. Can't wait to go back.

Good service, usually quick, very consistent. Extras are a little pricey so I typically stick with the basics. Always tasty.

Absolutely love their chicken pita wraps (LOVE their pita sauce) and their hummus is the best in town. My toddler eats it by the spoonful!

Portions are small, and the food itself is mediocre ordered there three times. I'm not impressed. Three strikes, and you're out.

It also had a very appealing appearance with its covered open air and outdoor seating. We did not have reservations on a Friday night but they found a way to accommodate us. First they serve you a basket of warm bread with oil and they recommended you try the olives with it. My husband was the only one who likes olives and he ate them all! I had the special of the day which was a black bass with a mango salsa served atop a cheesy polenta and asparagus. This meal is defintely on my top meals of all time. Everything was cooked to perfection and was bursting with flavor and richness. My husband ordered the Pasta Nikanos. It was loaded with a variety of seafood such as salmon, shrimp, and mussels in a red sauce served over farfalle pasta. He devoured it and was more than satisfied with the flavors and portion size. My daughter ordered the Valerie shrimp which was large shrimp in a red sauce with melted muenster cheese served atop a bed of Greek seasoned rice. She enjoyed it very much. We also had cocktails and they did not disappoint. I had a Mule that had black fig and my husband had the Aphrodite that had various flavors that was semi-sweet but good. We will definitely return to try some of their other offerings. We missed out on their dessert of the day which was a bread pudding because we were so full.

Anyways, I got the Octopus appetizer and my oh my was it delightful and so full of flavor and deliciousness. If a restaurant has octopus, chances are, I'm ordering it, no matter what. No two restaurants ever have the same octopus. It came with fava beans and potatoes, green beans and olives. Now olives I hate but it was easy to separate them. The dish was hearty, which explained the price.........I think it was worth it though, nice atmosphere, cool bar, nice outdoor fire pit. I would come back here for sure. Bartender was super nice, told him I was visiting solo and he gave me recommendations for more bars and restaurants to check out while I was there. Great service all around.

I have strong opinions and I know what I'm used to eating when it comes to the "food of the Gods" as I call Greek cuisine. For that reason, I have waited a long time to eat at the Greeks of Peaks. I just did not want to be disappointed. Well, to be honest, I was NOT disappointed!!! The Greeks of Peaks serves up some really good Greek food with the requisite amount of lemon, oregano and familiar Greek deliciousness!!! Bravo to the other Greeks of Peaks!!! I will be back and I give it a strong recommendation indeed without any native Greek reservation! The customer service was friendly and good as well. Those women keep a smile on their faces while turning out some very good food! And all in a truck too! It is mind boggling to me that only 3 people can cook up such good food, serve it up in a friendly and fast way and create a happy dining experience, all while working in a small truck in an outside dining room. Okay okay since I am reviewing this establishment AND since I am Greek, I will have some thoughts on some things. The serving containers are too flimsy. They should be sturdier and, I think, larger. For the prices, I did want more food. But the cardboard containers soaked up too much of the dressing and the delicious oils - I was worried they wouldn't last through my meal. Also I did not like the forks at all. Please - parakalo - give me better utensils for my next meal with you! I look forward to many more great Greek meals with the Greeks of Peaks!!! And I encourage you to visit this very special place too!
