We were passing through on our way from Boston to Bar Harbor. We are so glad we stopped in! First, the blue and white tablecloths and interior are super cute. The he staff was very friendly and welcoming. I liked that the menu was succinct. My party got the chicken pita, the chicken bowl and gyro along with the feta fries. Every item was delicious. The qty of ingredients was perfectly balanced. The feta fries were out of this world and I will daydream about them from hereafter. I was impressed by the pricing and thought it was super affordable as well. I highly recommend this restaurant read more

This is such a great spot in downtown Biddeford. I think a lot of people would overlook it like I did for many years but wow I will be back again and again now that i've finally tried it. Love space is actually quite lovely and very clean and welcoming. I was greeted right when i came in and was helped with all my questions by the nice gentleman. He recommended some dishes and he did not steer me wrong! I opted for the feta fries, the chicken rice bowl with pita, the dolmades, and the baklava. Everything was delicious and so fresh tasting. Get all the side sauces (tzatziki, hummus, garlic dip) they are so good and you can tell they are made in house. The chicken in the bowl i got was cooked perfectly and so fresh. The feta fries are such a fun addition as well as the dolmades since i had been wanting to try those! The baklava is a perfect sweet end to the meal you can't miss. What a great experience - it's worth noting how fast the can put together your order as well. I would also love to mention that a delivery driver came in and the man made him food to take with him which was extremely sweet. As someone who works in a similar industry i know how rare it is when you come across someone who thanks their delivery drivers like this man did. This is a must try spot!!!! read more

I've gotten food from here a few times this summer and it's bee great each time. They allow you to fully customize your order which is a huge plus. I was able to fill up on extra veggies. The meat was cooked really well. Service was friendly and quick. There's a few tables inside if you choose to stay in and eat. read more

This place might have the best pita sandwiches for miles around. The bread is outstanding and is the key to the sandwiches deliciousness. I ordered beef and lamb - the meat was juicy and tender and tasty. The chicken was also flavorful and juicy. My husband and I love going to the Greek festivals for the food but Papous is hands down the winner! Great fast service. Simple cute space with Greek background music. read more

The chicken pita is a very good sandwich very messy but in a good way. However todays sandwich had old brown lettuce mixed in.-not cool I had to pick out the brown lettuce. Also not cool was a $15.00 greek salad that had tasteless tomatoes, very little lettuce, an excessive amount of cucumber, a good amount of feta & kalamata olives. In addition charging .35 for dressing on the side is a joke- get real be professional Finally charging $7.95 for a very small serving of hummus is another joke. Too many " jokes " for today. Owner of Papous fix your mistakes. My only future purchase will now only be the chicken Pita until I find a better greek restaurant. I'm now on the lookout for something better, read more

We made a stop for a late lunch at Papous Pita after walking past it a number of times. The food we got, including a couple Gyro and a Mediterranean bowl and the special fries were really tasty. Compares favorably with similar dishes I've had overseas. The staff was working hard in the back, but got the food out to us pretty quickly. The space is fairly small but clean and has some neat decor to make sure you know you're in a Greek restaurant! A couple small complaints - our lunch, while not extravagant, was really pricey. Also, the ordering kiosk asked if we wanted to check out after adding every item to our order. The food tasted really great, which helped balance things out. read more

My husband and I have been here twice before and we love it! The food has incredible flavor and is cooked perfectly. There wasn't a bad thing that we have had from here. Inside the restaurant is clean and well lit with nice decorations. The man who prepared our food both times was super kind and generous too! He's got great customer service. We will most definitely be back because this is the best Greek food in Maine. read more

Mother's Day Dinner - We wanted to celebrate Mother's Day by going to dinner at Papous Pita. The only problem was we had to celebrate on Monday instead of Sunday. Well, Papous Pita isn't open on Mondays, so we went to Taj India. Boy, were we glad we did. As usual, the food was delicious, the atmosphere genuine and the waitstaff very courteous and friendly. We still want to try Papous Pita, but we truly enjoyed Taj India! ps. The "Five Stars" are really for Taj India, so we'll rate Papous Pita after we go there. read more

Mediterranean Chicken rice bowl is always amazing. This place never disappoints. Would give it 6 stars if I could

Been to Papou's a few times. Food: Wonderful! Any of their pitas are wonderful. Everything else, pretty meh. But let's face it, that's not why you are here. The seating is mediocre, bordering on poor. The service is an ipad and the cook calls you over when your food is ready. The prices are on the expensive side and extremely nickel and dimey. Greek music plays. It's not for you. This is not a fancy place. This is a place you go to eat a great pita. Overall, I think it offers a unique experience that I wouldn't want to see changed. read more

Delicious gyros!!! Best for takeout, ingredients taste so fresh. The worker there was soo friendly!

Excellent chicken gyro and hummus. The tzatziki sauce and hummus were so flavorful. A +. Finally found a great Mediterranean joint in Maine!

Food was INCREDIBLE!! We got the Gyro and feta French fries. Staff was great and very helpful with any questions that I had. We will definitely be back again in the near future read more

So happy to have found this place. The hummus was so creamy and delicious and loved the toasted warm pita that came with it . The owner was very nice and friendly I got the Greek salad pita $ 8.99 . The pita was overflowing with a fresh excellent Greek salad. The feta was some of the best I have had in a long time. The place was clean and we were able to sit inside and eat. We will definitely go back and try something new. read more

Papous Pita - Feta bowl - Greek Near Me - Biddeford, Maine

Papous pita is so good! The veggies are always really fresh and the service is great! Cute little place on Main Street, mostly takeout but there are a few tables to eat in. I always get the feta pita, it's excellent and filling for a no meat sandwich. Huge chunks of feta. This is my go to lunch spot to bring friends when they're staying over and they've only had good things to say about this place. Prices are reasonable for the portions as well. read more

Chicken has so much flavor and you can tell the feta cheese is home made. Best chicken Greek bowl around!

Delicious! The pita bread is out-of-this-world! The salad is fresh and is just the right mix of ingredients. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely love their chicken pita wraps (LOVE their pita sauce) and their hummus is the best in town. My toddler eats it by the spoonful!

This is a little gem. The ingredients are fresh, the owner and staff are friendly and the menu has lots of healthy options. My favorite is the dolmades pita (grape leaves). The pita is served warm and a little bit toasty, the tzatziki sauce is delicious and there is a generous amount of grape leaves and veggies. This is a great buy for $10.50. I have tried grape leaves from the grocery stores and they always disappoint - too mushy and tasteless. Papous grape leaves are fresh and firm. I always take something home too - usually a couple of orders of grape leaves and hummus. Hope more folks discover this restaurant. The Mediterranean food is a great addition to the growing Biddeford restaurant scene. read more

Good service, usually quick, very consistent. Extras are a little pricey so I typically stick with the basics. Always tasty.

Food is good. But when you pay $3.50 for feta cheese and get a teaspoon. plus they charge you to add things and don't deduct anything for things you ask to be removed. Also paid to add olives and maybe got a teaspoon of them as well ! read more

Great homemade food! The hummus and Greek yogurt are so good, worth the ad on! The grilled chicken is great but I love the beef/lamb the most. Our 2 year-old absolutely loves the beef/lamb, chicken, hummus and yogurt and typically does eat meats well, just so delicious! read more

We ordered online and our pitas weren't made correctly and were ready 20 minutes early. They were cold when we went to pick them up. We got 2 orders of the dolmades and they gave us 4 of them for $9! They are exactly like Joseph's or Cedar's you get from the store for $1.99! They are definitely WAY overpriced! Please see picture for the world's smallest baklava. All around disappointment. We definitely won't be going back. read more

My level of excitement when I saw that they moved to Biddeford cannot be expressed in words! We would drive to Kennybunk weekly for their pitas. Everything is fresh and handmade. It's authentic Greek recipes made by the owner who is always working behind the counter. I suggest calling ahead and placing your order if you're worried about parking, I've never had an issue running in quickly to grab a lunch order. I don't eat much meat so I love the dolmaldes options. My husband loves anything with the chicken added! read more

Papous Pita has moved from Kennebunkport to Biddeford, and it's just what Biddeford needed. They have a variety of pita sandwiches, rice bowls, and salads. The best part is that you can fill yourself up for about $10. They're starting off with what seems like a lunch menu but bigger meals are coming for Friday and Saturday nights. They're in the space that formerly held Elda, and it's a space that to me always felt best as a lunch place. I can see myself coming here regularly in the future. read more

Ordered Papous for carryout dinner and we were not disappointed! Our whole order came to a modest $25 and was ready for pickup in 30 minutes. We ordered a Papous Chicken pita and a Dolmathes pita with a side of tzatziki and pita. These were delicious and were clearly made with fresh ingredients. The pita was the perfect texture, consistency, and level of toast. The chicken in the chicken pita was moist and grilled to perfection. I can't tell what I was most impressed by- the dolmathes or the tzatziki! The tzatziki was of the most optimal thickness and texture. So impressed by this new spot in town and can't wait to work our way through the menu! read more

I have eaten here once a week for a month. The food is excellent. All fresh ingredients, large portions and super friendly staff. Tonight we ordered on line for the first time. Ordering was easy. Confirmation of order indicated pick up for 11:30 tomorrow ? I called the restaurant and recording stated on line ordering only. So I went on Facebook to try to cancel the order. In the process of trying to that, I received a text confirming the order again. So I went onto web site and saw they had closed at 5pm. So I texted a reply I want to cancel because I wanted it for dinner tonight. My phone rang, the owner called me to ask I knew the order was for tomorrow ? I explained no I hadn't know it was after they had closed. He said no problem. I will prepare the order for you. Just knock on the door for pick up in ten minutes !!! So on top of cooking us delicious food, the owner gave outstanding excellent customer service. Highly recommend you try this restaurant for delicious food and impressively wonderful customer service. Very casual, tiny shop. No frills. Absolutely delicious food. Friendly fast counter service.

Portions are small, and the food itself is mediocre ordered there three times. I'm not impressed. Three strikes, and you're out.

Food was so fresh, tasty, wish I lived in Biddeford so I could be a regular. Service was friendly and quick! It's a small space, not much room to sit, but it was clean! I bet they do a great take out business. read more
