Menu-They keep it simple (which I like) - they have like five or six different options for sandwiches each with a slightly different take on the Banh Mi- I had the pork with a delicious in house done ginger marinade and lots of fresh taste of flavors cilatro, cabbage etc and a little heat of jalapeño and hot sauce options on a huge fresh above average sub roll- I was stuffed! My wife being vegetarian had the tofu version and absolutely LOVED it! Bubble Tea Taro was good but a littlesweet for me to drink by myself (no problem we shared it) but good flavor too. "Hand-cut fries or hand-cut chips?" the counter guy asked me. Now, I love a fry, but I'm feeling crunchy in these overcast late-April days. I hesitate, and somehow this mind reader behind the counter could sense it. "I can see you want the chips, but you gotta try these fries. Why don't I give you a little of both?" he says to me. Now I'm looking at him cockeyed--just another Mainer who seems to be able to read a man's soul. Well, I am here now--no turning back. And then my eyes widen when I spot a tasty crème soda in the fridge next to the register. My lucky day. Crème soda--the most underrated of all sodas. What's not to love? Creamy and poppy all in the same bottle. This guy seems nice, and I am in no rush, so I say, "Hey, throw it on my tab. I'm going to be a while. After I eat, I'm going to write something!" I pull up a spot without paying and know that there's no expectation to do so--at least not right away. To drink I had what was essentially a margarita, which was solid. My husband had a maple bourbon cocktail and enjoyed it. For our main, we shared the tray for 2, which was more than we could eat, at least after the Frito pie. I liked the brisket, ribs, and Mac and cheese the most. The cole slaw needs more flavor/sauce but feels like a healthy slaw as is. The service was OK. There was 1 waiter for the whole place and he had 6 tables at one point. He was very friendly and offered suggestions. We will return because my husband wants to try a sandwich. I'm not sure what I will get, but the menu has a lot of really good options, including vegetarian barbecue options like tofu and seitan, so there's something for everyone.
