We've been wanting to try Papito's for a while and glad we did. I ordered the walleye platter that was fried in a tasty batter and was very good. My wife got the Catfish platter and also enjoyed it. First time here. It was a Saturday night and the place was not overly busy. Walked in and was able to seat ourselves. This is clearly a family run establishment. We were taken care of by two different people. Drinks, appetizer and meal. Everyone was friendly and the place was nicely decorated. It wasn't overly large inside but had a good vibe. They do have a patio to choose from as well. I ordered the special which was a lobster roll. It was served in a baked bun. I was thrown off as I guess I was expecting something different, but it was cold. It was served cold in a warm bun. I think the contrast of the temps was off, the flavor was good, and clearly large chunks of lobster was found inside. Fries were of the fresh cut variety, they had a good crisp to them. Coconut shrimp platter, was able to substitute fresh cooked veggies instead of the cole slaw. This was amazingly well done and the shrimp was dynamite! The fresh cut fries have a seasoning on it that makes you want to keep eating them. :-) Don't bother going to those chain restaurants to get seafood that is over priced, over cooked and drenched in butter. Well, we picked this place after reading so many 5-Star reviews. I hate to be a downer, but there was nothing we tried that was 5-Star. The coconut shrimp appetizer was the best thing we had, but only had a sweet n' sour sauce, not the usual Pina colada sauce. But the shrimp was hot and crispy. We split a variety platter to try as much as we could. The fries were soggy. The calamari was like rubber bands. All of the fish were like Texas Tenderloin fish; thin fish with more breading than fish. The shrimp were large and nicely done, but the cocktail sauce had solidified to the point where the shrimp could not be dipped in it We were so disappointed. Friendly, clean, nice place. Which in the picture it looks like we had two salads but he actually split the serving so that's a split salad and the salmon was unbelievable! We need to go.... The food at this place is on point. I got coconut shrimp, which was fantastic. My husband had a shrimp po'boy. The shrimp for both was fried to absolute perfection, large sized and very fresh. Our fries were the classic kind that are delicious with a little malt vinegar and ketchup. The menu includes fried fare, salads, soups, pasta, grilled dishes and some non-seafood options, so there is something for everyone. The restaurant is spacious, with ample parking. First, let me say that I don't do five-star reviews. To me, five star is perfect, and I've never eaten at a perfect restaurant. However, if Yelp would allow 4.5-star reviews, Papitos Kitchen would get it. My bride had fried shrimp, and it was delicious. We also enjoyed the Flatbread appetizer and it was well-seasoned and tasty. I had fish and chips. You have the option of cod, perch or another fish, and I chose cod. It was lightly breaded, hot and quite good. I also chose their onion rings and they were the same. According to his wife Kim, Chef Wil (Grumpy Chef) is not fond of heavy breading and the light touch enhances the fish. We met Kim at a similar-style place that they run called Frank's Seafood. It's over on Trabue Road near Hilliard-Rome Road. They had desserts there, and we were told that the Baltimore location would have their signature Slow Turtle Brownies and Orangesicle Cake soon. We will be back and we will be bringing seafood-loving friends. By the way, our food, including drinks and an extra piece of fish, was just under $40. It came with hand cut fries and coleslaw (which was made with a poppyseed dressing) I'm not a slaw person but I ended up getting an extra slaw because it was so good. Papito's Kitchen is located in the small town of Baltimore, OH. The area is a bit off the beaten path and not at all where you would expect to find a seafood restaurant. It's locally owned by the same folks who own Franks Fish and Seafood in Hilliard. I've been wanting to try this place since moving back to the Pickerington area. We originally attempted to stop on Monday; however, they are closed on Mondays. There's not a lot info about this restaurant online as it just recently opened. Having grown up in a family that eats and cooks fresh seafood on the regular, I was excited (yet skeptical due to the location) to try this place out. The restaurant is seat yourself and order at the counter style. I'm fine eating causally like this as it's really the food that matters. Everything is served on disposable plates with plastic cutlery. Kinda sucks for the environment, but I get that they're going for the "no frills" style. Maybe this can be changed in the future. We ordered three dishes - the Gumbo, Spicy Lettuce Wraps with Shrimp and Bourbon glazed salmon. I'll start with the good - the lettuce wraps with shrimp rang up at $14 and are technically a appetizer but definitely filled me up as my main meal. The spicy ranch on the shrimp was delicious, the rice seemed boxed but did not interfere with the overall taste, and the tomatoes were fresh and delicious. The shrimp was fresh and there was plenty of it. My partner had the bourbon salmon for $16. He enjoyed the glaze very much. The vegetables were just steamed and could have been seasoned up a little in my opinion. All in all - I'd definitely come back for the shrimp lettuce wraps. My one complaint was the gumbo - I appreciate the kick it has, but I only had one piece of crab meat in my whole cup. There was no shrimp, no sausage, nothing but one lone piece of crab (and a ton of okra). On top of that, it was bland bland bland. I'd be willing to bet the base is not a homemade roux but instead a canned soup. I can't recommend it at all. I had one bite and passed it off to my partner. It wasn't worth getting filled up on. I'm giving Papito's 4 stars because it's a small business and I appreciate it's uniqueness in an otherwise chain restaurant saturated area. I'll definitely make the trip out to Papito's soon. I'd love to try one of their specials (Grumpy's boil or the gator sandwich). Also, Papito's - you gotta advertise those better!
