Sitting at 1 of 2 tables. Glad to be dry and warm to eat our lunch
    Janice M.

Papi's Taqueria is a wonderful small Taqueria. I'll admit that I was a little worried when I read a particular review. I'm glad that we decided to check this place out for ourselves. My son and I were with my parents after visiting the Florence Griswold Museum. We were all a little nervous when we saw how small the restaurant appeared from the outside. Although it is small, we were welcomed by bright colors and chandeliers. The restaurant offers two tables and a bar where you can sit to eat. We grabbed a table and reviewed the menu. I went up to the counter with my dad to place an order. My mom ordered the Huevos Rancheros, dad got the Fajita Burrito with Chicken, my son ordered a Fiesta Burrito with ground beef and I got a Cubano Torta. I also ordered refried beans and rice for the table. The staff was very friendly and were polite when asking my mom how she would like her eggs in her dish. The food came out quick. It was served warm and with smiles. The food was comforting to us on a wet and rainy day. My son absolutely loved his burrito and enjoyed the rice and beans. My Torta was filling and wonderful. The Cubano has eggs, pork, lettuce, tomato and mayo. The bread was fresh and soft but held up to the wet ingredients. My mom said her meal was messy to eat but great. She had to pull the jalapeños, but I was able to snag them. Dad said that his burrito was great and the chicken was flavorful. While we were eating a large party came in to eat. A delivery service was picking up and three other small groups came in. My only complaints were that there isn't enough room for more seating and I was unsure on the restroom situation. We noticed a sign that said there wasn't a restroom available. I'm guessing because of the size of the place and the fact that you would have to walk through their kitchen, they may not offer one for everyone to use. It's possible that you could use it in an emergency situation, but that never came up when we were there. We'll be back with my husband. I can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu. I look forward to sharing the authentic homestyle cooking with him.

Wow! So good! Fresh authentic Mexican deliciousness, clean and cute store front. Love the colors and vibes. And the staff is super friendly. My first time in here and anytime I'm in the area I'll be coming here that's for sure. Love that they have a salad bar type area with salsa and limes and Radish you can help yourself to. No public restrooms just a heads up. There are 2 tables and a bar for sitting and eating, and 2 tables outside. No alcohol, but they have awesome horchata and jarritos 10/10

I have eaten here before and loved it. Today I came in specifically for the Mahi Mahi Taco. Every bite was a pleasure on the taste buds and makes me want to come back daily to this authentic Mexican restaurant.

I love Mexican food and there's definitely a time and place for Tex Mex food smothered in cheese and sauce, but La Llorona really stands out for the freshness and colors of its food. The margaritas are also very good and there are always some super interesting flavors on the special weekly menu. In my experiences, the service has always been fantastic. I typically go with smaller groups and we always receive our food pretty fast. I went for a work dinner with a group of 14 and the service was still very fast and our waiter was super funny and attentive. I have also never had to wait for a seat here due to the large number of tables, but the restaurant doesn't feel cramped. This is a great place near the beach and there is always ample parking.

Chips were very crispy. The chimichanga was stuffed with chicken, rice, bean and smothered over some Cajun queso. The food was solid, but nowhere near mind blowing according to the achievement and recognition on the wall. It also is way higher then other spots and for there price I would expect a lot more flavor and even complimentary chips. Staff and service was fair. Overall the food was fair and given the area there aren't many other Mexican restaurants to provide competition, won't be my first choice to eat within this area but I wouldn't be mad either. Places were in full swing with orders from customers - in store, by phone, or online. We've patronized other Mexican food restaurants, and this place was one that we haven't been to - until last night that is. We just about missed out on the food. A really great employee, Mike was kind enough to ensure that we didn't miss out on a Cinco de Mayo meal. Super hard working, professional, and dedicated to making sure customers are taken care of - these words describe Mike to the core. I had nachos with beef n cheese. Absolutely delicious. For someone that loves tacos, burritos, and enchiladas - I was compelled to switch it up. So nachos it is Out of all the Mexican restaurants I've patronized, this is by far the absolute best to go! So much better than other places. Along with the food, the kindness and welcoming in which was displayed by Mike are what made me decide to keep going back to this wonderful establishment! Really no seasoning at all and burrito was basically fully of hard crunchy rice with no flavor. Too bad I wanted to like the place and the interior and service was good but for $20 burrito filled with almost nothing but old crunchy flavorless rice I can't reccomend. Wish the owners would read the reviews because there is potential here but not if the food is bland, overpriced and insulting teaspoon on guac and sour cream to go with my massive flour tortilla filled with nothing but rice. Shoreline could really use a decent Mexican place and the drink menu is good but this missed the mark big time. Wish I could rate 2.5 stars but due to nice bartender and clean inside and drink menu I decided to rate up to a 3. Edit to add: I posted this review as we were leaving- owner came out to confront me about it. The review above is unchanged from what I originally posted. Was very a la Amy's Baking Company. Take that for what it's worth- not all are interested in feedback.

One of the best, if not THE VERY BEST, restaurants in the local area. My only concerns: 1) I didn't see a bathroom, but I didn't need one ‍; 2) we could have used a knife for the pork stick, but we should have asked. The staff is extremely helpful. Wonderful designs, with lots of inspiration. Now for the food: - Chicken Steam Plate: Chicken leg, rice & beans, fried plantain pieces. Chicken super moist, rice was outstanding, & plantains were very tasty. - Beef Stew: very good, similar to Filipino Beef Mechado. - Pork Stick: great tasting pork - - for me, I would have liked a bit more "fatty" on my stick, but it was really meaty!!! - Beans were nicely done. - Smashed Plantains were served with 1000 Island dressing: probably just as good without the dressing. - Ground Beef Empanada: good, a bit of vegetables would have put it over the top (potatoes, onions, carrots, peas) - - but that's there style. - Chicken Empanada: ok, a bit salty for us. Enjoy!!!!!
