I have been looking for any tasty places that are from the Hispanic culture. Coming from New York that is all I like too eat. This place has a very cozy feel (as if your in your grandmother house) Waitress was very attentive. Cooks were very nice and welcoming to people that want to get to know their culture eats. Which I found very thoughtful... I am a vegetarian and the cheese pupusas were a GO TO! And their morning beards are amazing!! It's like a little restaurant that locals know... I'm glad I stop by and I was completely stuffed w just 3 pupusas, food coma lol. read more

Did not know what to expect for a restaurant that was pizza and Salvadoran food. Was in CT for a week and this was the only place we could find pupusas. Going to say the food was great and the service was not so great. That won't stop me from going back when I'm back in town They do have a full bar and when I was there, plenty of seating. read more

I wanted to try this place. I had cravings for Pupusas. They allowed take out which is great. There aren't many places like this near me, and I didn't want to go too far. The name threw me off but they did have Salvadoran food on the menu. I placed a large take out order. When I got there everything was packed and ready. The owner was there with one other person. Very kind. They sell so much more then is on the menu. I was able to get some treats like cemitas and cheese. When we got home, we looked at what we had. They did not disappoint. Meals were tasty. The pupusas were good. I'm glad I tried them. Considering COVID-19, they are still able to provide yummy food. read more

Osmino's Grill - Cemitas, empanadas, and quesadilla. Yum!! - Pizza Near Me - New London, Connecticut

After being super duper spoiled in Northern California with a veritable plethora of Papuserias to get incredible papusas, tacos, tamales, and platanos from, I found Connecticut to be void of my off taken for granted pleasure. I was venting this frustration to a friend, who told me that there was a pizza place in New London that also made tamales and papusas. Excited for what might be, we arrived on a rainy and overcast weekday, hungry and hopeful. Osminos is located just west of the Lawrence Memorial clinics, and just north of New London's two back to back roundabouts (which I think are ridiculous and cumbersome, but I'm told really help clear traffic in the area during commute hours). Parking is behind the diner, which is awkwardly in the middle of some scruffy looking housing areas. Interior is what you'd expect of a pizzeria hybrid El Salvadorian diner; a mishmash of the obligatory kitschy pizzeria stuff and Salvadorian touristy stuff. Menu is pretty detailed, with many various items to choose from. While we were there, we were the only people ordering from the El Salvadorian section, which maybe should have been our tip-off. I did the Tamal and Papusa combo, with a chicken tamal and three papusas: one bean and cheese, one veggie and cheese, and one pork. Darling man ordered the Chicarones with Yucca, and a latino beer which we both thought tasted like it was past its expiration date. While the food was being made, they brought us garlic bread rolls, which sadly were the best things we ate the entire time. Even so, the were overly salty and dry, despite the copious olive oil and garlic. My papusa plate came with curtido, which is a slightly fermented cabbage slaw, which I wished could make up its mind if it was sour, salty, or spicy, but ended up being not much of any. The papusas were over-cooked and bland, and the tamal had gristle and fat through it which turned me off. Husband's plate was massive and overwhelming, with the biggest hunks of fried pork I've ever seen, with equally giant yucca pieces, all covered with the indecisive slaw, and unimpressively bland salsa. The staff were pleasant and service was quick, but this place really does a disservice to the delight and deliciousness that El Salvador has to offer in regards to everything culinary. Prices are good, but with the El Salvadorian foods sstruggling to even be mediorcre, I'd hesitate to return even to try their grinders and pizza. read more

Great food. Sometimes the pupusas are a little overcooked with too much cheese oozing out but still delish. Also, they just say hello when they answer and I never know if it's Osmino's. Great place. read more

DO NOT ORDER PIZZA worst pizza I've ever had it was literally liquid on top of crust, the pasta was great but I wasted my money on the pizza, 20$ for this horseshit read more

Osmino's Grill is a great place to hang out and have some Hispanic food. The prices are a little bit pricy but you get the what you pay for and the food is delicious. It is a great environment and they even have a 8 ball table to play while you wait for your food or just mess around with some friends. read more

This was my go to spots for Pupusas, but after the service I received Saturday I will not be returning. I went pretty late but not extremely close to closing and there was a large crowd in the dining area playing pool waiting to eat. I normally do takeout, but decided to dine in. The chef was very pushy when taking my order and asked two times back to back if I knew what I wanted because he was going to have a larger order. I asked for the Pupusa plate. Not too long after he served me my food on a paper plate. The order wasn't correct I wanted the 3 pupusas with rice and beans I got was 4 pupusas and paper bowl of the fixings. I thought it was a bit weird but maybe that's what they were using for now. It wasn't until after I had started to eat a bit I noticed the other tables food being prepared on glass dishes with presentation and garnish. It may not seem like a huge deal but singling out a customer is not acceptable I deserved the same treatment as the other people dining in. read more

Pepperoni pizza is amazing. The buffalo soup is pretty great too. Reasonably priced. Would recommend for late night snack.

The thin crust pizza reminds of me having pizza in NYC. The prices are very reasonable and the food is hot and fresh! the other items (enchilada, taco, etc) are also wonderful! if you haven't been here, please check it out! :-) read more

Despite being billed as a pizzeria, this place also has amazing El Salvadorian food & a tasty Mexican food selection. It's very reasonably priced and the food is the real deal. What it lacks in fanciness, it makes up in seriously delicious meals. Even though the burritos, tamales, & pupusas (huge portions) are the star of the show, the pizza is also the closest I've had to NYC pizza in SE CT and they have a robust selection of Italian dishes. You'll start off with yummy chips and salsa... and be sure to ask for their homemade green hot sauce! read more

Stopped in for lunch, we decided to take our order to go. From the outside we assumed this was an Italian restaurant, and the lunch menu seemed to be mostly Italian grinders and pizza, but all the decor on the inside was Spanish. Maybe at dinner they have more Spanish items on their menu, but we were a little confused. Our grinders were pretty good, but we will be back to track down the Spanish side of this little restaurant. read more

Very yummy pupusos and pizza! Go traditional and get pizza or try a taste of El Salvador!

I have eaten there many times for lunch and dinner. When you arrive, they will bring you a free sample Sometimes it is pizza, other times fried plaintains, garlic knots or chips and homemade salsa. I always order the carne asada (steak, salad, salsa, plaintains, rice and beans). Others prefer the pizza. They have parking in the the rear. Popular with the locals. read more

Amazing!!!! Best Mexican/Spanish food in town!!!!! Go. It's so worth it. I had the tamal y pupusas and they were amazing! Coming from California it is hard to find good Spanish food in the Area but this is the real deal. I do recommend that you bring your appetite because the portions are huge! The staff is super friendly and got the food out to us fast. You won't be disappointed! read more
