Tonight was my first night at this restaurant. The food was…read morevery good. The service was amazing. The atmosphere and aviance was also very nice. All of the food at this restaurant was a fusion style food. The taste and flavors are amazing. Eating here is like having good sex. The atmosphere and music is relaxing. This is absolutely what I needed after a hard week at work.. our waitress was amazing also. Her name is Hanna. She was super attentive. My blood sugar levels were going down when I got here. I mentioned it to Hanna and she was so accommodating. Thank you Hanna I appreciate your good service. Every time I'm in town I'm going to want to come to this restaurant.

We tried calling before arriving to see if they would be able to take us but their line was busy. I'm not sure their phone was working. We were a table of 4. They were pleasant and quick. They auto charged a 20% gratuity, which was a bit steep but understandable due to the holiday. Charred pulpo was tender and delicious. The scallops were tender but I wished the bacon was crispy. The lobster ravioli sauce was salty. It was salty in the bacon wrapped scallops as well. It would've been more enjoyable if the sauce was good, especially with the bread given. The sauce in the Valentine's Day special with the steak and shrimp was delicious. A bit on the oily side but cooked to perfection. The seafood was so good! A lot of muscles, clams, shrimp, and crab. I ordered mine with pasta. The drinks were delicious! I highly recommend their pisco sours.

When you visit Stonington Boro, you're most likely assuming this quaint, quiet New England village…read morewould be known for traditional seaside fare: crab cakes and lobster rolls, with corn on the cob and a bit of coleslaw for sides. You'd be right, there are restaurants here serving such standard cuisine, but what makes a trip to the Boro special is a trip to Milagro Cafe, serving the best Mexican food and drink in Southeastern Connecticut. Having eaten in dozens of Mexican restaurants from Texas to NYC over the years, my wife Pat and I were thrilled to find Milagro: sure, it has traditional burritos and tacos dishes, but the chef's take combining Mexican fare with an American twist is special. Last night I had braised beef enchiladas, while Pat chose roasted pork with tomatillo and cactus sauce-- both incredible. And the drinks! Milagro Cafe has a truly amazing bartender in Rebecca who, given her talents with margaritas, would be a renowned mixologist if she were in Manhattan ( although she'd never let anyone call her that.) She creates an amazing array of original margaritas, whether her classic Patron ( my go-to) or one of her seasonal creations ( Pat loved Rebecca's mixed berry margarita, a summer selection)...better than any we've ever had, anywhere. When you add in a warm, professional and attentive staff led by Theresa, who provides service, a smile and smarts with everyone who enters the cafe, you have in Milagro Cafe one of the best reasons to visit the Boro. Stonington's still.got its rustic charms, but in Milagro Cafe it's got spice too!

My son had moles con pollo, we shared chunky guacamole and chips, I had the steak tacos, and we both had chocolate lava cakes. I appreciate both the…read morewonderful staff and the two friendly locals who graciously steered me in the right direction when my internal monologue became external. With its Latin American focus, I felt like the Peruvian chicken would be the best bet. Plus it was listed first on the menu (unlike concert setlists the best isn't usually saved for last - what's the deal with The Killers opening with Mr. Brightside? - but I digress). This was superb, partly thanks to the salsa verde, but also due to the excellent basil bread. I also enjoyed the mint lemonade. The local customers, like many Yelpers, raved about the Chinese BBQ sandwich and said I should get it next time. I had a moment of indie-rock snobbery and thought I can get Chinese sandwiches anytime in NYC, but I was curious about the emphatic praise. For a second I pretended I couldn't possibly get a second sandwich. So with some self-delusion combining "I didn't eat breakfast" and "these nice people told me to get another one" I got the BBQ sandwich. It, too, was excellent, with a perfect fusing of ham, bread and sauce.

My friends and I stopped in here earlier today to check out the vibes and Masa passed the vibe…read morecheck for sureeeee. Their empanadas are absolutely beautiful and should be show cased more often. Def a good hidden gem on this side of the state.
