A solid empanada, nothing more and nothing less…read more I went to the local breakfast spot around this area and saw a new place had popped up. So after doing some running around I decided to give this place a try. The owner/operator was manning the helm and was very informative. He answered all our questions while frying up orders on the fly. I tried the guava and cheese empanada and the caramel empanada. we took everything to go and brought them home for noms and pics. The empanadas are cooked well, stuffed to the gills, and flavorful. The fried oreos needed to be a bit crispier, but the flavor was there. Prices are pretty good, and the wait times were relatively quick. Overall, it's a good place to try if you're in the mood for an empanada. If you happen to be in the area and looking for a tasty bite, give these guys a try!

So far, we have tried the beef, chicken and cheese empanadas (both as snack and dinner), and they are just satisfying. Mike does not skimp on the filling for the empanadas. We've also tried the caramel empanadas (can be topped with powdered sugar, Nutella, or condensed milk) but we've had it plain. With Mike's suggestion, we added vanilla ice cream on top- and it did need it. The caramel is super sweet, so the vanilla ice cream cut the sweetness a lot. Mike is super friendly, and we wish him loads of success in his business!

Little goes a very long way. I also tried the chicharrone (which has yelp can't spell for me) and it was very interesting. Good. Very very crunchy- gave nice strong teeth and nice pork flavor. Also not greasy. Also tried the plantain- I am partial to the sweet ones. This was ok I just like 'em sweeter. I look forward to going back. Ladies behind counter were super. Colombian music playing so created atmosphere while we sat and ate. Lovely experience.

Parking can be challenging especially seeing this restaurant runs on Lonsdale Ave a busy street in itself. The line was out the door and that's where I stood waiting patiently. The love moves at a decent pace. Here finally my turn and I honestly had no clue what to expect or what they even really sold but I was hoping they had anything that contained ham and cheese and they did, Brad with ham and cheese for $3.50 I was surprised that was all. They do gave finger foods, drinks coffee and fruit drinks, breads, pastries of many sorts. I was tempted to get a pastry but I stayed focused. The bread was actually good and tasted fresh they only concern which was a big one for me was that there was hardly any ham and cheese in it and I mean like barely none. I could have actually went with just bread as that's what I felt I received. Would I return maybe especially if I am in mood for something g sweet as the variety was plenty to choose from. There is a sit down area on both sides of the restaurant with one big screen tv. This place seems more of a grab and go type establishment. They open at 5:00am and close at I believe 9:00 pm

With its Latin American focus, I felt like the Peruvian chicken would be the best bet. Plus it was listed first on the menu (unlike concert setlists the best isn't usually saved for last - what's the deal with The Killers opening with Mr. Brightside? - but I digress). This was superb, partly thanks to the salsa verde, but also due to the excellent basil bread. I also enjoyed the mint lemonade. The local customers, like many Yelpers, raved about the Chinese BBQ sandwich and said I should get it next time. I had a moment of indie-rock snobbery and thought I can get Chinese sandwiches anytime in NYC, but I was curious about the emphatic praise. For a second I pretended I couldn't possibly get a second sandwich. So with some self-delusion combining "I didn't eat breakfast" and "these nice people told me to get another one" I got the BBQ sandwich. It, too, was excellent, with a perfect fusing of ham, bread and sauce.
