Date of visit: January 10, 2026 Never have I ever been inside a Paper Source store until this visit! I was concerned that it was all over-priced cards and wrapping paper and while yes, there was plenty of that, there were also a number of surprising other items and I spent far more time in the store than I expected to. Surprising bonus: You can earn and redeem Barnes & Noble rewards here. I came looking for a couple rubber stamps and an ink pad that was part of a gift and was mildly successful in that task, though the friendly staff did explain that stamps were not really popular right now and I nodded in that knowing way of how things can be so cyclical. I'm sure six months from now you won't be able to swing a dead cat without hitting a rubber stamp display and at that time, I won't need any. I also perused the clearance cards and found some good deals and was interested in some of the items near the register but none of them had any prices on them. Great that they are 50% off, but if I don't know what they are half off of, I'm not likely to buy them. Will never understand why stores have things out without prices, how many lost sales must that drive? All in all, a decent store that I will return to when I am in need of some cards--especially if they still have that clearance section! read more

You're better off shopping their online store or better yet a local stationary shop or variety store. I've been followed by staff while trying to shop here on three separate occasions. This time, after entering I explained twice that I didn't need help. I prefer to browse and not make small talk. It was after work for me and I just wanted to find something and go home. I was followed by a staff member and watched the whole time I was in the store. She was never more than 10 feet from me, often closer and staring at me. It was wild. Without causing a scene, I didn't even know how to call her out on it. It made me feel completely unwelcome, which I suppose was the point. I was trying to buy a birthday gift for my daughter's friend and wanted something special. I ended up going to another store nearby and did find something perfect, but it felt crummy. I won't give the Paper Source at Bayshore another chance. It wasn't a fluke. Third times a charm. read more

First time in a "Paper Source". And first time meeting, Lyndsay, the custodian of this magical space that offers beautiful things. This place feels like a niche local business- although it is a subsidiary of Barnes and Noble. "A pen is very personal", Lyndsay replied as I nonchalantly asked her to pick one for me. Together - with a trusty scratch pad to try each selection - we explored the myriad of desires one can have with a pen. And that's beautiful - because details are so important in the world and often overlooked. And this was just one pen. The origami - the books - the Lego's - the lovely humored and thoughtful gifts as well as superlative wrapping and craft papers (that are hand made) encapsulated everything that one could imagine for special moments and of the mundane as well... like journaling needs and paper flowers such as oneself sought after on my unplanned and serendipitous visit. I very much enjoy the products Paper Source has to offer but I do find this store a bit hard to shop in. While their hours are posted online as opening at 10am but the store posts their hours at 11am in the front window. If you have little ones, that hour makes a BIG difference. My last visit to the store I checked and saw that they were open at 10am. We arrived a few minutes early and waited in our car. I saw the store associate remove the CLOSED door sign posted in front at 10am, so I unpacked the kids to go inside. The door was locked and no one was in sight. When I saw the hours posted on the door I assumed that the store would open at 11am. The winter wind was cutting through us so we didn't stay outside waiting for confirmation from the store associate. We waited the hour out walking through Target and circled back. The store associate explained that they were in fact open at 10am and she was unclear whether to open until speaking with the manager. Ugh! By that time I had cranky kids and a few unnecessary purchases from Target. I wish there had been clearer communication. So, the moral of the story is call before visiting. OR order online and get free shipping with a $50 purchase. read more

I just started to buy at Paper Source in Bayshore Mall. I wanted o support the small businesses in the mall. This is the second time I have had a run in with Lindsey the manager of the store. While the people who work there, mostly young women are lovely and helpful, she is not. Today, I asked about the teacher's discount that was 15 percent and she would not extend it to me without an ID. Many, many schools do not give teachers cards or formal IDs. My does not. Last night the woman who checked me out honored the discount, THE MANAGER did not. She leaves much to be desired in terms of customer service or treating customers well. I will never again buy from this store. I purchase 100s of dollars in paper for my business. This store will get none! read more

I was first introduced to Paper Source when I lived in Austin, TX and when I moved to Milwaukee I was THRILLED to find there was one close by. Paper Source is my guilty pleasure and I say guilty because I always spend $30 more than I walk in planning to spend. I finally made it to one of their crafting workshops this week and had a blast. The workshops are genius because they are fun, remind you how much you love to craft, and give them a chance to show off their new products. The workshop I went to was a holiday card making class and we embossed, line envelopes, and made our own stickers. At then end they give you at 10% off coupon and then its a slippery slope.. Beyond us crafters I recommend Paper Source to anyone looking for a quirky gift or nice greeting cards. I found a fun bar tool "swiss army knife" for my boyfriend last Christmas and calendars for myself! The only downfall is their location in the parking fiasco that is Bayshore. Brave the parking and you'll see Paper Source is well worth the visit. read more

I knew about Paper Source because I had browsed their website last year after I got engaged. There aren't too many dedicated stationary/card/paper supply stores in Milwaukee so I was pleasantly surprised when they opened their store in Bayshore. The store is large, well lit, and has large tables to lay projects out on. Take a look around at the displays for ideas of what you could do - with more time, I may have lined my own envelopes! The invites I ordered for my wedding were custom made from another vendor and didn't include envelopes. I ran around town today looking at JoAnn, Michael's, etc. and didn't find the color selection of envelopes that I desired. So, I drove over to the Paper Source, walked in, and saw the back wall calling my name. There are about 20 different colors of envelopes and cards on the back wall and you can buy them in packs of 10. When i first arrived, I was on the phone, but after I hung up the phone they immediately greeted me and started to help me out. The person who greeted me was helpful and friendly, but then had something else to tend to, so she transitioned our interaction to Laura who helped me pick out different envelopes and stickers. Laura was awesome. She was friendly and patient, which I needed, because I just couldn't decide on the envelopes and stickers that I wanted to use to seal them. Ultimately, I ended up going with her great suggestion on the getting 50% of one color and 50% of another. They have pens, and envelopes, invitation suites, templates for DIY, cutting supplies, ribbons, thank you, special occasion cards, other supplies, and REALLY nice people. Great selection, beautiful displays...but completely nonexistent customer service. Seriously. Walked in with the specific intent to order/purchase custom invitations. Wandered around the store for a good 10 minutes, obviously interested in the products. Never greeted or acknowledged, never asked if I needed help - I'm not even sure if the two employees chatting away at the wrap desk were aware there were others in the store! For something as personal and important as custom invitations, I'll go elsewhere where someone is at least moderately aware of customers and their surroundings...or the concept of helpfulness and basic customer service. read more

I ordered personalized invitations online, and they were lost by the post office. I called Paper Source to let them know, and without any question they sent a new order. They arrived 2 days later! I'm very thankful for the great customer service! read more

They are pricey people but they have excellent customer service! I was there to get invitations for my college graduation with a super short notice. I couldn't get the invites made like the lady there suggested since they would be done two days later than I needed but I saw the samples they had around the store and I would definitely be back for any other invitations I would need later. read more
