My favorite yarn shop closed a couple of years ago and so I had been buying yarn online. I was in a bind and needed some to knit up a weekend project for my coworker's baby and found Fiberwood on Yelp. It's in a nice location in 'Tosa in a residential area so it's not very crowded and you should have no trouble finding parking, especially since they are only open during the day. I walked in and browsed around there were 3-4 other people in there receiving help with projects. The first thing I noticed is that there weren't that many yarns, but the yarns they do carry were a decent quality. Cascade 220 in a variety of colors, ECO Wool, Malabrigo....I was happy with the color selection of the Cascade 220s, but the colors I was interested in did not have enough skeins for me to complete the project. After I browsed, I was greeted by a person I believe to be the owner. I showed her the pattern for the hooded baby wrap and that I was looking for a yarn and open to restrictions as long as it was a natural fiber. We looked at a few options and I eventually settled on the Malabrigo Mecha super wash in Dewberry at $15.95 each. If you need needles, books, or patterns, she has that as well. I'm not sure what brand of needles (I'm an Addi Turbo fan), but I did see she had them on the wall. They accept cash, Visa and MasterCard and she bagged the yarn for me. I really appreciated her help and I would definitely go back if I needed certain yarns. I wish I could have given four stars, but I had to take off work to go there because of the hours and there were quantity shortages for all of the yarn colors I was interested in the Cascade 220. This would be limiting for larger projects like blankets or sweaters, but it is a smaller shop less targeted towards yarn, so I understand.

They have their jewelry production right in the back and offer to change a length/clasp/gemstone. I found an amazing vintage watch fob converted into a bracelet, but I didn't care for the chain. The gals offered me a few different vintage chain options and edited the piece on the spot! She was patient when it didn't fit and kindly added an extra link to the newly edited piece. That extra mile is what makes any business stand out from the rest, and I very much appreciated it! There were 4 different gals working and each of them were a part of my store experience. I love that vibe - a nice cross between slumber party vibe, girly pop vibe and artsy vibe. Most of their pieces are sterling silver or brass, but they have a handful of pieces in 14k and gold fill. I got a mixture of both! Their sweet spot price point is "affordable" while some pieces are definitely spendy. I've got my eye on a vintage wedding band for $3k. Inventory was much more limited, and most of it high end, out of my price range and not the every day pieces that I loved so much. I had admired the higher end custom pieces at the old location, but sad that they are now the primary inventory at the new store. I really hope with time they will have more variety and bring a bit of the old vibe back.
