I love this place!! They have the cutest stuff. It's a little expensive, but if you're willing to splurge a little it's a fun place to go.

Mandy is incredible. I have had to go into the store a couple times in the past few months for different events, and she is just the bees knees. She spent time with me showing different options and pricing, and also talked to me in depth about calligraphy and other services they offer. Hours are not clearly listed on Yelp, store window, or on Google. I stopped by on a Monday afternoon at 4:30pm - sign on window indicated store hours were until 7pm on Monday. Google indicates until 7pm. Yelp says 6pm. The store associate who was in the store when I stopped by on Monday at 4:30pm, merely pointed at the sign on the window behind locked doors (which, again, I reiterate, says 7pm on Mondays). Get your hours straight. It's incredibly frustrating for customers navigating rush hour traffic. read more

One of the cutest place for all of your paper needs. This is like a specialized Michael's with a focus on paper and paper accessories: gift wrap, cards, stationery, pens, stickers, journals, calendars, etc! They even have tables with gift options for both men and women. The store is well organized, and the designs are so cute and adorable. They also take customized orders so you can have personalized notecards, stamps, you name it! Price is a little bit on the higher end, but I think it's worth the quality. I bought the Woodcut everyday stationery, and the design is gorgeous (even though they're just trunks). Definitely recommend coming here for your craft needs! read more

I love this store! We have one back home in Virginia also and my friend and I stopped in while shopping around Austin just to look and to find a last minute baby shower card. We browsed the cards, the decorative crafty stuff, and the wedding invitations for potential photo ops. If you're crafty at all they have pens, markers, gold tape, decorative tapes, decorative papers, stamps, foils, and dozens of other things you could use to your heart's content to make pretty paper things. If you aren't crafty - they can make them for you and you can just buy them. read more

I needed to make a return but I couldn't find my receipt. Seems like most businesses can look up the charge on your Visa card and make a return --but not this store. I live a long way away so a store gift card does me no good. I won't be back. read more

This place is wonderful! I spent an hour here today to shop for a planner for next year. I gave it quite a bit of thought (after all, I will be stuck with this planner for a whole year) and had a good look at all of the of the offerings. My review may be more applicable for people looking for a planner/ calendar, but I can testify to more general things as well, such as store set-up and staff. Stand-outs: 1) the staff is incredible -- they are very knowledgeable about all of the offerings, and notice the little things, without being pushy at all. I spent quite a long time around the calendar/planner, and a staff member noticed and pointed me towards other areas of the store that also offered planning-type materials but were not as obviously labeled. The items are also packaged, but they always leave an un-packaged item for you to flip through. I also liked a certain planner layout but didn't quite like the cover, and an employee knew exactly which other planners had the same internal layout but a different cover immediately (amazing! Don't know how she did that). 2) diversity -- I sound a little crazy here, but everyone has their preferences! Anyways: there is a huge diversity of items in the planning/calendar category: cover design, planner layout, binding type (spiral bound, glued binding), fonts, paper texture, academic vs. yearly layout. Huge selection! areas for improvement (not a lot, but I didn't give it five stars for reason) 1) display set-ups -- the store has a lot to offer, and as a result, their displays are quite stacked together tightly with a huge variety of items. You really have to be careful when reaching for a planner, for there is the danger of toppling precariously balanced and carefully curated displays. Some unsolicited advice: perhaps utilize more shelving so items are more stabilized within displays? read more

We just moved here from San Francisco and I used to love Paper Source and the service there!! I called the store here in Austin in advance because I wanted to set an appointment for save the date cards. The person on the phone told me I can come in anytime to talk to someone and take some samples of my favorites home. I went to the store Saturday very excited and asked one girl for help, she just showed me where I can look for their save the dates and told me I can take pictures of them (there are no samples I was able to take home). I asked her some simple questions that she couldn´t answer until she finally said she usually doesn´t work on save the dates and walked away. I tried to find everything I need but really needed some help. The girl that helped me in the first place looked down when I walked up to her so I tried my luck with the other girl that was working. I asked her if I can add our engagement picture to a card and how that will work. She said that´s possible but would be more expensive and walked away. I asked for the information of the manager to set an appointment with her or him for the next time. But this was honestly the worst experience that I never want to go back. I rather fly to my store in San Francisco where everyone is kind, friendly, helpful and actually knows about their products. The staff is fairly meh, one of the girls doesn't wear a bra but DOES wear super thin shirts. If you need a lot of oddly-sized envelopes in one color, I'd recommend ordering them ahead of time, as we were in the market for 60 purple 3x5 envelopes but they only had 47. Whatevs, it's SUPER cute store I could spend an overly exorbitant amount of time in but I just feel like it's lacking something for the price of everything (a slightly cute but very cheap looking nail file was $5, gtfo). read more

Also, the parking situation is pretty good and convenient for being so close to downtown. Everyone on the staff is really friendly and helpful, and they take their time to show me techniques. The Paper Source had a dedicated employee sit down and go through every step with me and they even sent me 2 free proofs, which was handy after I changed my mind on the first font color. I moved to Austin 3 yrs. ago from South Texas. I happened to find The Paper Place as I was out "exploring" my new home! This shop had everything one could ever need from amazing variety of invitations to all the supplies needed to make your own! I have yet to stop by there and not see something that grabs my eye! But the BEST thing about this store are its employees! While not the largest (or cheapest) craft shop in town, it has a fantastic variety of wonderful products to assist you in your paper crafting hobby. This place is only exceeded in excellence by its staff. I called to get info on a Silhouette Cameo and got not only polite, informative service, but a personal rapport as well. Though it was further away than several other hobby shops near my home, I was convinced to make the trip to visit their location. Once there, I received a demo on the machine I was looking for and enjoyed myself while browsing their store. These ladies were very warm, welcoming and engaging. The only real danger here is spending more than you should. I can't wait to go back! read more

First impressions online store looked promising so I went to check it out. From the outside the store I could tell that it was a cute and creative place. I walked in the door and was not greeted by anyone, tho I could see two ladies in the store. I walked around trying to find the paper I was looking for. They had many choices and a lot other creative things for making invitations and so on. I was in the store for about 20 minutes no one ever greeted me or asked if I needed help. I even walked out of the store to go get a drawer out of my car to compare colors. Was not told goodbye and when I returned again I was not greeted. When I came up to the register two ladies were behind the cash register and did not acknowledge me standing there while the one lady was checking someone out. The employees did not make me feel welcome or even care if I needed any help. I did like the items they had and the selection but customer service is everything. My experience has been amazing with Paper Source. I ordered a Return Address Label Stamp from them for my wedding. I don't remember what it was that made me realize I made a minor, yet significant error. I flipped the last two digits of the apartment numbers around and created a nonexisting apartment number. I was well aware this was completely my fault, but thought I'd call and write the company anyways to see if there was anything that could be done. They were so nice. They went above and beyond necessary to make sure that I was a satisfied customer by letting me know that the product I ordered had already shipped, but they were creating a new one with correction, shipping it over night, and not even charging me for my mistake. I am so grateful. I almost cried because I knew my error was going to cost me on all the items I've ordered from various vendors. We are on a budget and to have a business do this...well, I'll simply say they have more than earned my business.
