We stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way to Hadley on a Sunday morning. It was quite busy and most of the tables were taken. Seems like a lot of people were locals. We were seated right away and our orders were promptly taken by our waitress. She was manning the people at the bar as well. We have been here multiple times. Food is always good. As well as the service. Today. Told "sit where you want" cool. Got our breakfast order and coffee order in. No refill on coffee. "Huh. Odd". Here are your to go containers. "Oh. Ok. It's been like 20 minutes ". 5 minutes later. "You Need to pay. We need the table". Time there? 35 minutes . I used to work for tips. No one asked if I wanted more coffee I would never have treated a customer that way . In 60 year I have NEVER. Left no tip. Ever. I did today. Plus. I don't think I will ever return. Only because. As a customer who did not take up space for a "tipping" customer" and would normally tip my normal 20%. And. Even if I was a "non tipping" person. ( I had a couple in my prior waitressing life) everyone who walks in the door is your clientele. You have disappointed my family. read more

I recently had breakfast at Papa's Diner in Queensbury and, overall, had a good experience. The food was good, the portions were generous, and the service was pleasant and attentive. The only issue I encountered involved the pricing on my bill. When I received the check, it seemed to be several dollars higher than what I remembered seeing on the menu. I politely mentioned it to our waitress, who appeared surprised and said she would double-check. She returned with the menu, placed it in front of us, pointed to the listed prices, and commented that she hadn't realized the discrepancy herself. The difference on our bill was only about $4 to $5, so it wasn't a major financial issue. However, my concern is that many customers may not carefully compare the menu prices to their final bill and may never notice if there is a pricing discrepancy. I'm sharing this review not to criticize, but in the hope that ownership or management will look into it and make sure the menu pricing and register pricing are consistent. This place is a straight up mom and pops diner. Super friendly service, always around for coffee too ups. The food came out super fast. First time here and I'd definitely be coming back again. I had the mamas breakfast which is 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacons, and a good amount of home fries. The pancakes were cooked to perfection and had a great taste. They decorated for Halloween, ghost and witches everywhere. They had an electric fire place going with pumpkins everywhere. This place definitely has a nice and calming atmosphere to it. read more

They don't allow service animals in their place. That is against the law. Boycott is in order. We went in with our support animal and they refused service and asked to see papers. By law they can't ask for papers, ask about any disabilities, and all support dogs must be P accommodated. They are in violation! read more

Rude and not worth it. We came in as a group of 7 and were told we could sit separately to be seated faster--which is fine and makes sense. But then after sitting down, they immediately told us with a large party gratuity, even though we were at different tables across the room and now essentially 2 small parties. Service was rude from the start. A server spilled coffee on my friend's phone and didn't say a word. At the end, they gave us the check for the total of both tables, then expected the other table to pay the full amount too. And after all that, they still pushed for extra tips on top of the 18% already included. Food was decent, but the service ruined the meal. Would not recommend. read more

Terrific food - SEVERELY understaffed - breakfast took us 90 minutes for a party of 2. Only 2 servers on the floor (who also were hostess and cashier). I ate my meal in 10 minutes - the other 80 minutes were spent WAITING, especially to pay. And forget about asking for hot sauce or a coffee refill! We stopped at Papa's after a night at the water park. There were 7 of us, including 2 teenagers and 2 small children. We were promptly sat and our server (can't recall her name , but #4 on our check), was phenomenal. We we starving and our food came out quickly. Stopped in for breakfast at this awesome little diner. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated ourselves without any wait. The place was packed with lots of happy faces consuming their food. The Papa breakfast was a lot of food and everything was cooked to perfection. Pancakes were very fluffy. Servers were super friendly and attentive. A classic dinner with friendly staff and food done right. Delicious food came hot off the grill for breakfast lunch or dinner. The cinnamon roll warmed up was delicious! Large pancakes that just about fill up the plate. The corned beef hash particularly stood out as excellent with good ratio of potato to corned beef and crispy edges. If I have to quibble, the only weak point was my montecristo sandwich. Tended to be a tad on the soggy side. Have to thank my fellow Yelpers for allowing us to find this absolute gem of a diner. After a morning of tubing with the kids, we were looking for somewhere nearby to West Mountain to grab lunch. Papa's had great ratings and was right around the corner, so off we went! Immediately upon walking in, we knew we had made a great choice. The place was filled with smiling customers, and three separate employees greeted us as we were welcomed to choose out table. Drinks were promptly brought over and orders taken. I went for the French toast breakfast sandwich, which was a delicious and hearty sausage, egg and cheese between generous slices of the good stuff. It came with a generous side of potatoes, seasoned just right. My wife ordered the a traditional B-E-C sandwich which was very good, but I could tell she was jealous of my choice. She opted for French fries in lieu of home fries and was given was must have been half a sack of potatoes worth! My boys split a "Nana's Breakfast" (no charge for the shared plate, much appreciated!), which came with two gigantic pancakes, eggs and bacon. Between the two of them, they only managed to eat about half of it with the rest coming back to the hotel with us for tomorrow's breakfast. Not only was the food plentiful and delicious, the servers were all outrageously friendly (as were the other patrons, for that matter!). The icing on cake was when I checked in on Yelp while finishing the meal, I found there was a $5 off $25 offer. When I went up to pay, I managed to clear the offer from my screen and was unable to call it back up. They didn't even blink and manually entered the discount on their own. Another nice touch. Fast, friendly service with hearty and delicious food. We visit the Lake George area annually, and we'll definitely be back for another meal when we return. read more

Since Papa's Diner was taken over by Chris Smith and his family I have yet to be disappointed ... as soon as you walk in you are instantly greeted with a warm welcoming and quick service . I haven't seen a Diner kept this clean for a long time . From the tables and chairs to the bathrooms always well maintained (Thats important to me). I also like that the wait staff is always knowledgeable about that they have and don't have ... today I tried Papa's Roast Beef for the first time and again I wasn't disappointed ... Chris cooks his Roast Beef on Premise and It was amazing . My son and daughter-in-law said thier meals were fantastic too . We will definitely return to Papa's Diner ... Not family friendly, owner actually hit a guest with a highchair and blamed our party for requesting one and made a joke people should have to setup their own table if they bring kids. We have been fortunate enough to request the sweet, pretty, young server when we can but lord save you if you are stuck with the old battle axe owner.
