Lunch at Papa's was underwhelming. They were obiviously under staffed. The service was painfully slow. There was a long wait between each step of the process from seating to receiving the check. We ordered an appetizer of fried pickels. When the server brought them, she apologized, stating, I'm sorry the batter came off the pickels, and walked off. We split a muffalatta and fries. The muffalatta was quite ordinary and lacked the savory robustness that I'm accustomed. It was light on meat and cheese and the olive salad was bland. The venue is OK. The food is OK. We didn't eat here but we sat in the big huge glass front window for cocktails and had so much fun! The Malibu Sunset drink is delicious not too strong, not too weak, absolutely perfect drink! Stopped in for a quick lunch on my way through town. Cute setup here right on the Main Street by the water. Wales decorated in antique items and a bar in the back of the main dining. Burger was pretty good with the onion rings and BBQ sauce drizzled over the top. Fries were PLENTIFUL and crispy. Staff was very attentive and a pleasure to dine with. Stopped in for lunch and ordered bacon cheddar burgers and fries. They were fantastic, but HUGE! Apparently, all burgers are 1/2 pounders. We easily could have shared one. Kudos to the chef who managed to cook mine extra well done - something a lot of people balk at. read more

The service was bad, seen a roach on the bar, and our server gave the wrong table our food then took it back from them and tried giving it to us after pretending to take it to the back and re cooking it. The food was decent, the service was absolutely terrible. The servers were more invested in chit chatting with a group of customers rather than providing service to other customers in the restaurant including us. Trying to get a server's attention to get a drink refill or even an extra napkin was difficult to say the least. We dined in and also placed an order togo, not only did the kitchen staff get our to go order wrong but the server also completely forgot to put in an order for ONE of the TWO things we ordered to go. So disappointed today. We went to Mama's last night and it was delicious. Today we ordered the cajun ribeye and the filet. We had to send the filet back because instead of being med-well it arrived rare. When it came back it was med around the edges but not in the middle and it had very little flavor. The loaded potatoes were odd. They seemed to have been prepared a long time in advance the reheated. They were very dry and butter either wasn't available or you have to ask for it. Terrible food!! The chicken tenders were worse than frozen ones from Walmart. The fried jalapeños and onions were burnt so bad I couldn't eat them. Had to go to Pioneer Pub to eat because I was still hungry. Paid $68 for me and my 2 grandkids to eat and it was horrible. You would think by looking at the food that they would know it wasn't worth eating. They sure didn't bother taking anything off the check either. I do not and will no longer recommend this place or the sister restaurant any longer. This particular trip we placed an order to go, hubby ordered cheese burger with mustard, ketchup and pickles only with a side order of fries and I ordered the ribeye medallion steak salad with no cheese or onions with the steak and ranch on the side as we were traveling back to our work location in the middle of nowhere. When I got there my order was ready , just needed to be bagged up. Gal bags up my order while talking to 2 of her coworkers. Gives me my order in a bag tied off and takes my monies I pay with cash and then ask if i wanted my almost 20$ of change back on a 35$ to go order bill which kind of threw me off a bit, I said yes she gives me change and I leave. We get back to location, break out our food, there is no mustard on my husband's burger & the pickles are chopped in big chunks pickle spears. There is absolutely no ranch and the "ribeye medallions" are actually what looked like left over steak crumbles that were so dried out & nasty looking, like it was all the the left over dried steak pieces on the grill that was reheated in the microwave - see pictures below. So I call the restaurant, speak with the manager Conner, he apologized said the cook was newer and said that they will send me my monies back via the mail because I am on location and do not when I will be in the area again but I had to call back the next day at 11am and talk to his manager. I call the next day and spoke with the kitchen manager, told him what happened, he goes looks up our ticket, verfiys with me the amount that was due back to me and says that they will get my monies right out to me. Well it has been almost a week and no refund in site and according to my informed delivery there is nothing in the next few days. So even if you get crap food or nothing at all and let management know, don't believe them if they say they are going to refund you. I do NOT recommend and would just avoid this place all together. I did wait almost a week before making this review to allow time for them to follow through on what they said they were going to do; there has been nothing. read more

The worst thing about this visit was that they said the wait would be 20 minutes and it was 50. It was during the first week of the Christmas lights festival and there was nothing but young, inexperienced workers there so we didn't complain while there but they took our drink order, brought 3 of 4 drinks and then brought the food orders out one at a time and never brought the youngest kid's food. We asked for the check and asked for them to take his chicken tenders off the bill and the waitress had a mini freak out because he didn't get his food which she brought anyway and didn't charge us for and he got to eat while we watched the fireworks. Ordered alcoholic drinks that were advertised on the wall called purple Demon for $12.00. Got our check and the drink was 15.00 and when brought up to our waitress for false advertising you would think they would change the price on our bill to 12.00 but they still charged us 15.00. This restaurant also charges you for extra chips for the queso dip when they give you very little to start with. Their bathrooms are also very disgusting. We decided to drive an hour for my dinner birthday. Our favorite restaurant was closed (on a Tuesday), so we decided to try this place. It was a huge mistake. First we ordered the Cajun queso. The queso was refrigerator cold and had no flavor at all...and there was supposed to be Tasso in it but if it was there you couldn't see or taste it. The homemade chips tasted like I can only assume cardboard would taste. The creole pasta with crawfish was as bland as anything I've ever eaten. And then I have a real question...how do you not have any flavor in a side that is full of bacon, garlic, and onions??? The hamburger steaks were over cooked. The server was nice, but don't expect refills unless you can flag her down. We didn't eat much, paid, and went to have a better meal somewhere else. read more

We entered in as a group of five and found a table. Looking around there were two other couples finishing up their meals, so I thought it was going to be quick. It wasn't, but it wasn't too bad. My customary "what do you recommend" question was emphatically met with 'the burgers!' Probing a bit further, she also recommended a few other items, but I could tell she believed in the burger...so burger it was. If you know me, I love burgers. I was excited to see what her excitement was all about. I ordered the breakfast burger (egg, bacon, cheese). It comes with chips and a pickle spear. Fries or other sides are extra, so I stuck with chips. The presentation of my burger was beautiful. The egg was cooked perfectly and it laid over a few slices of crisp bacon. If presentation was good, the taste was better. I tried to eat slowly as I savored the flavor combinations of this culinary masterpiece. It was delectable. Others in my group also loved their meals. They ordered pasta, kabobs, a poboy, and a burger. While the food was fantastic, the service dropped them a star. My drink was empty more than half the time, and there wasn't much emphasis in marking sure we were ok. Being the only people in the restaurant should make her job a bit easy. I'd go back if I wasn't in a hurry. I wouldn't risk taking my children as they couldn't sit that long without getting a bit crazy. The atmosphere is average, but the food was great. The burgers were warm but not hot and fresh. Fries were all slightly warm. The onion rings were terrible. The only bright spot was the spices on the bacon burger. It was very tasteful. We were here last week with my family. Waitress was upset to be there at 4:30- her shift was over at 4, and was complaining so loudly that we all could hear. We ordered our food and drinks. We were the only people in the place, but food was taking forever. While we were waiting, I saw a kid blowing his nose in the kitchen. Not into a tissue... just holding one side and blowing into the air!!!! He then proceeded to pick his nose. Not once, but over and over. He walked out of the kitchen so I was hoping and praying he wouldn't have anything to do with our food. Just then, my mom walked in to join us. She spotted the kid, still digging in his nose. She of course started to panic about him being around her food. I told her he SURELY wasn't going back into the kitchen- but he did! Right up to the food window. My mom called over the waitress and told her we wanted to pay for our drinks, but we weren't eating there. She showed the waitress the kid (who was literally still digging in his nose!!!!!!) and the waitress had the decency to apologize and look embarrassed. But the manager could care less. Great little lunch spot! Stopped in for lunch and the place was packed. The staff was friendly and eager to please. They were super busy but our server greeted us, brought our drinks and took our order quickly. I ordered the Whole BLT and fries. It was pretty good, standard BLT but could use a bit more bacon. The fries were AWESOME! My son ordered a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Cheese only and Fries. It looked and tasted fantastic! The Husband ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries. Another couple came in 15 minutes after us and also ordered appetizers and both the couples got their appetizers before us! A restaurant's restroom cleanliness in my opinion, is an indicator of the kitchen's cleanliness. The restroom was disgusting and I prefer my meal without hair in it. We walked out before we could eat. There are way better choices on Front St. and the surrounding area for sure. read more

Was not very impressed with the menu. Felt like I was truly in a bar more than a restaurant but I went ahead and got the Cajun pasta. I would say this was more of a watery cayenne liquid than a creamy/cheesy traditional pasta sauce (which is what I so yearned for) the massive amount of vegetables that are within the meal is disturbing. I'm all for some sautéed onions, peppers, mushrooms but don't be slapping a handful of this (still al dente) all on that watery pasta. It was cringe worthy. 6.99 for a child's grilled cheese which was 3 inches of bread and barely any cheese was disappointing. Then to not include a drink with that price is like whaaaa?
