We've stopped at BeauCoup on Friday, 10/17/2025 and once again we were not disappointed with our lunch at this cafe in the downtown / historical district near the Cane River. Arrived during the height of lunch time on a Friday where it looked like there had been a large group (Good Sam Club?) in for a monthly lunch meeting as well as a couple larger groups. It was not long before we were seated at a front window table (our choice) and the drinks and lunch order was taken. The waitress (server, i think her name was Lexie) came by a couple times to check on us and alerted us that the kitchen had been "slammed" per the number of unexpected large groups. Not long after our food arrived. I had the garden salad with chicken along with a cup of red beans and rice + sweet cornbread roll. The husband ordered the crawfish etoufee which came with a slice of toasted French bread. The salad was loaded with diced chicken, the blue cheese dressing was good, the croutons were ho-hum -- I suggest the proprietors rethink the brand they purchase. Husband reports his plate lunch was good, I tasted it and found the gravy had a stronger than expected flour taste. No room for dessert. Visited the restroom, paid the bill and made our way back around the corner to our vehicle. read more

Cute little French style establishment with cosy interior. This was our first visit to this town and restaurant. We stopped in for a late lunch (they close at 3:00 PM). Simewhat limited menu, we both ordered the famous meat pie. It was fairly small in size, tasted okay but not fabulous. We wouldn't order it again. The rest of the food was okay/nothing outstanding. Today 16 of the ladies from my church drove almost 2hours to eat here and enjoy a day of shopping. We started with eating here at Merci Beaucoup. It was one of the lady's birthday so I had a cake made to surprise her and brought it with us. After everyone went in I brought the cake in and asked them to hold for us until after we ate. When it was time for the cake I went to retrieve it. A male employee informed me at that time that they usually charge you for bringing in a cake. I made the mistake of not asking him how much and said to put it on my ticket. When I received my ticket he had charged me $40 for bringing my own cake. I have never ever had a restraunt charge for bringing in a birthday cake. I told him I refused to pay that charge so he cut the price to $20. Not being a happy camper i agreed to the charge as not to make a scene. So, when my bill was rung up, what should of been a $25 meal was $66. So I went to him and wanted to know why it was so high. He charged me a $16 gratuity adding in the cake charge and an 18% gratuity. I pointed this out to him and he asked me what I thought i owned. I added my bill up by hand and he returned me $13. So for a $25 dollar meal I paid $53. His comment was that he could have sold us each a dessert at $10 a peice and made $160 . However he sold 16 meals at $25 each making him $400+. That's 16 customers and whomever they would bring back there to eat plus the people they would of told to go there that he just lost business from..There are other restraunts around the area. read more

I'm not going to complain about the gnats getting in two mimosas, and I'm not going to complain about the food that was clearly cooked from frozen or out of a box. And I'm not going to complain about the red beans coming from a can or the instant rice. I'm not going to complain about the gumbo that was just absolute trash. I'm here to say something good. The French bread was good. So if you wanna pay $72 and some change plus a tip for some good French bread, this is your spot! We will never come back here! FYI... the house salad dressing was so sweet that we saved a little bit to put on our French bread for dessert. We also noticed on the menu that certain crawfish and shrimp originate from a foreign country, which was shocking because the restaurant is in Louisiana. Helpful tip: Instead of paying $17.99 for the meat pie plate, just go to any local gas station that serves them and pay a couple dollars or so and save some money. Took a day trip to visit a friend and ate early lunch! I ordered the regional Natchitoches meat pie with dirty rice. The meat inside the pastry was delicious! The dirty rice felt like a lot of meat including the meat in the pie. It was good. My table enjoyed their meals, the crawfish looked especially delicious. I got the Red Beans and Sausage, for lunch. The beans were so under cooked. The rice was way over cooked to the point I could barely even stir it together because it was sticking together like baby mush, it took 5 minutes to just get it mixed decently. It had zero seasoning. I tried to add salt and pepper and even hot sauce to fix it but nothing worked. It was so bland and just overall not a good meal highly wish it was better. The Service was good though. It's not a server's fault for the food, they don't cook it. My server was nice and polite. The general look of the place was nice and neat. Gumbo is good. Terrible service - hostess sat us at a table with 3 chairs when we had 4 people and walked away (had go hunt for an extra chair). Waiter took almost 15 minutes to come and take our food order (almost got up and left). Had to go hunt down our waiter again at the end to get our check so we could leave. We stopped in on our way through Louisiana. The staff was wonderful. The place was wonderfully clean. The food!! The chicken is fantastic--well seasoned and crunchy without being so crunchy it hurt your mouth. The fries are great. The chopped steak is some of the best I've ever had. We had the Cajun Potato today and it's definitely a 5 star dish. They put a large amount of crawfish étouffée on top of your baked potato and then place a large fried shrimp on top of that! You can order a second fried shirt if you like! Excellent! The server was very nice and attentive also! This is also one of the few restaurants in the area that has a restroom for their guest.
