It's delicious and hot!! It makes you want to keep repeating and retuning. What makes this place so special is the sauce. Is it all in the sauce ! Yes truly it is. That red sauce in the pizza and doused in cheese. Wow! If you have experienced their pizza you can know how it's tastes. Now being sensitive to spice, something's the special sauce can trigger your stomach issues and sensitivity. But take those antacids to not have it set off. The pizza here is absolutely delicious. Again the key ingredient, "the sauce," so make sure and ask for extra. The cheese bread is delicious too. We have dined in and taken it to go. The service is stellar . I could not figure out how to customize my food and that left one of my items inedible to me. Had I been able to customize or it was intuitive I might have had a slightly better time. If you're not one to get your food the way the universe intended and like to customize or need to, keep this part in mind. I had a very 'hip' vibe and was not too loud.

My book club met at Impellizzeri's this week, and upon discovering several of us have dietary limitations, the server and kitchen staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and ensure our ongoing health. A wonderful kitchen wizard ventured out into the dining room to talk to us personally, and confirmed that all the traditional pizza doughs, pastas, and red sauces are vegan. He offered to create a custom pasta dish with a variety of vegetables (spaghetti pomarola with garlic, spinach, and mushrooms), and ensured that the breadsticks that accompany the pasta dish (traditionally made with garlic butter and cheese) were vegan, prepared in a separate location in the kitchen to ensure no dairy contamination. For those with other food allergies and intolerances they ensured every detail was correct, even noticing that a pizza that was inadvertently prepared with an offending food item, and remaking it before it was even finished baking. Pricing is incredibly reasonable for the quantity and the truly excellent service, which is what truly made the experience special. My pasta dish was tasty. Is it the best pasta I've ever had? No - but it wasn't trying to be. What Impellizzeri's does well is serve good food at reasonable prices, in a location and with people who have an eye for detail and a passion for excellent customer service. Well done.

The sauce is delicious, but there just is not quite enough of it. I am not someone who likes a lot of sauce, but this was just enough to know it was there without it really standing out. It is a great sauce, it just needs a little more of it to bring everything together. One other suggestion would be to offer the option of adding extra Italian herbs and spices during cooking. That would take an already excellent pizza to the next level. Overall, this is hands down one of the best pizzas I have had in Kentucky, and I will definitely be back.
