One of our favorite Pizza King locations, convenient access from Charlestown Road. We usually do pickup orders with an occasional dine in visit. Known for their standard of a thin crispy salty crust unique to them. We usually opt for a 1/2 and 1/2 with pepperoni on one side and Italian sausage, onion, and mushrooms on the other. You will hit your sodium quota and of course the pizza is just as great and tasty to eat the following day. Breadsticks are also the bomb and served with marinara for dipping. Pickup orders are prepared in a timely manner and carry out is directly inside the front doors past the hostess station. Dining room to the right and special booths with TVs, game consoles, and the electric train are to the left along with the coin gum ball and prize machines. Kids typically are so happy to be here because it is unique and entertaining -- as long as you are loaded with quarters! (Used to be our kid's dream birthday party destination.) Employees are friendly and helpful. Noise level can get a little raucous on the weekends with a celebratory atmosphere. Booths can easily hold up to 6 people and have high backs, so we felt like we were in our own little party room. Let's start with the good, the kids loved the train.... Ok so the pizza wasn't anything special also wasn't "fire" baked, the boneless chicken wings were to say the least bad, the BBQ sauce for them would probably get a lower rating then this review. We ordered a submarine sub, only came with ham and tomato sauce on it, the bun wasn't toasted. We order a side of fries and fries with the subs. Got none of the fries, they "had orders in front of our fries" even after we got the sandwich. The waitress gave us our bill with everything we ordered but we only got 1/3 of what we ordered, we had her take back the bill twice before it was brought back right. So I would please not recommend this place to anyone if it was the place open. Side note I did get a refill here. read more

We drove across the river from Louisville because we'd heard this was a great place for family fun and were not disappointed... Our youngest loves trains and was entertained the entire meal by the train passing by every few minutes delivering drinks all around the dining room. All the pizzas are thin crust. We ordered a cheese for the kids and a greek for the adults... Thin crust is not normally my beautiful wife's first choice, but she commented that this was the best thin crust she'd ever had... Indeed the crust was crisp yet flaky with a subtle chewiness... The topping are elegantly balanced allowing the cheese to brown perfectly.. Saw this spot on Facebook and decided to try it out. It is a neat little spot , if you have a chance definitely sit on the train side. As a model train will deliver the drinks to your table. (Pretty Cool) The price is out of this world. Definitely a good deal for what you get. We had the Philly Cheese Steak Pizza, Potato Skins and Pretzel Bread sticks. When I heard that there is a little train that delivers drinks at this restaurant, I knew I had to surprise hubby with a special trip out to New Albany. It was totally worth the trip. Although the outside of the restaurant does not look like a destination, what's hidden inside just made us giddy. The left side of the restaurant is where the train is located inside a group of booths that surround a train track. It all sounds confusing and convoluted now, just wait until you check it out. We quickly ordered drinks from the server and waited anxiously for the delivery to arrive. Yes! The little train showed up within a couple of minutes and stopped at our station! It waited for us to retrieve the drinks and it was on its way again. When we "needed" more refills...the server went back and sent the drinks out by train again!! The food was just run of the mill kiddie pizza and other boring stuff. My order of wings was really salty. No, those do not come on the train. But nevertheless, hubby and I were absolutely geeked about the train if you cannot tell already. This place is great for train geeks or little kids. If I could I would rate the store a 0. I have been going to this place as a kid and now as an adult when I am traveling through. I ordered a 14" pizza with Pep, Sausage, onion, mushrooms and jalapeños. I get the pizza delivered and only half the pieces have mushroom and jalapeño on them. This is by far my favorite pizza. It's a southern IN tradition. I think you either love it or hate it, and I LOVE it! How can one not absolutely love the toppings all chopped up looking so delectable! It is a fav daughter/mom lunch spot. We always get the pretzels w/cheese and since we are the only ones in our household who loves olives, we add them to the pizza. A little secret, they have green olives too. Enter into Pizza King and you see wait to be seated, not today I'm traveling with a friend that has specific needs. I take them to the most comfortable booth and Check the place for even more comfortable accommodations for their needs. The booth I chose is their party booth. Pizza King is one of those "love it or hate it" pizza places. Fortunately for me, it's "love it" all the way. Pizza King has a distinct way of making pizzas unlike any other pizza place I've been to. The tiny toppings and square-cut slices are something I find myself craving. The ambiance at this location is very kid-friendly. On one side of the restaurant, you'll find private booths with high walls so that you can't see into (or be seen by!) other booths. Drinks are brought to the booths by train and each booth has it's own private television. On the other side of the restaurant are regular tables like you would find in any other restaurant. There are large televisions in each corner of the room for everyone to watch. The staff at this location are always friendly and very quick to offer service. Pizza King is great for any age, but especially great for kids. People of all ages enjoy having their drinks brought by train! read more

Let me preface this with the fact that I now understand that I am probably not the target demographic that Pizza King is aiming for. Perhaps if I had children, I would be more inclined to rate it higher. However, there is no obvious signage saying "Adults are not going to be smitten" on the outside, and I've been to another Pizza King (now a Pizza Queen) in Bloomington that did not feature a choo-choo train that delivered my beverage. I do not feel my expectations were properly set. The pizza was fine. I've had better frozen, but this was passable. It was the thin crust-without-being-crispy kind that is alright. They use the crumbly sausage that I like, so I'm in favor of that. The garlic cheese bread, however, was bland and the marinara sauce that accompanies it was far too sweet. The service was prompt and friendly. Our server did an excellent job. It's not you, it's me. I'm not a fan of televisions in restaurants other than sports bars because I feel like they distract people from conversation. I'm not interested in South American field hockey, but somehow, I keep looking up because of the little moving lights! Pizza King offers you the chance to watch whatever you want, right at your table with an individual TV. Then, if you get tired of that, you can pay to play video games. The pizza here is gross. There's no way around it. It's just NASTY. Plus, it's a bit pricey for the quality. We've tried several things here. Even the sandwiches are HORRIBLE. The ONLY reason to go is if you have young kids. There is a train that delivers drinks, and a TV that they can play video games on (for several quarters). USUALLY we have good service. The last time wasnt that great. There's nothing thrilling about it unless you are 6. I honestly recommend just getting appetizers and letting the kids play, then get a frozen pizza to make at home.
