It's decked out with live plants, some comfortable booths and some tables. It's an attractive space with a good view of the kitchen. It's a solid little space. We ordered the house salad, which is tossed in buttermilk ranch dressing and it's super delicious. Such a great salad to start with before the pizzas. It's large enough for 3 people to share, as there were 2 of us and we had some left over to take home. Brian Olsen has pizza on lock! He is a master at his craft. These pizzas have an amazing flavor, terrific crust and quality ingredients. They serve burgers and a chicken sandwiche, too! We ordered 3 different pizzas... one with garlic cream sauce and green peppers, one with pepperoni, sausage & red peppers and another specialty pizza with the hot honey & arugula with pepperoni and Calabrian chili's. Man, that was some good Za!! Claire was our server and she was terrific, too! Clearing dirty plates, refreshing silverware and beverages. Terrific attitude! All in all, Bettendorf has an amazing pizza restaurant that the locals should be grateful for in their own neighborhood! And, Smash serves beer, wine, and cocktails, too. I wish I lived closer. I'd become a regular and dine in often! Whenever I'm back in town, I'll be sure to stop by to try some different specialty pies, like the elote pie. That one sounded really good! So did the za with wild mushroom & kale!! Maybe one day Smash will create a taco pizza to compete with Happy Joe's, rip Joe Whitey. But, seriously, there is no comparison between the two. Smash is hands down one of the best pizza restaurants in the QC's and is better that many BIG city pizza spots. Thanks for the good time, great food & service!!

Someone had the brilliant idea of getting a pizza, and I had to wipe the slick pad of slime off of my jaw. We were all in agreement. Then someone suggested "Yo, let's get Papa Johns". I myself Veto'd. "Naw, let's get something LOCAL". Ooo-la-la, we're nearly about to draw out the white table cloth. This will be a well worthy treat. I placed my chips on this place. Sausage with 3 cheeses on one side. In less than 20 minutes I was driving back with a baaaag of hot 'zza. Yeah, a bag. No big deal, but it wasn't a box. Whatever, I was about to eat the whole pie by myself like a raccoon in the passenger seat with no remorse. When I arrived back at the library triumphantly, the whole squad gathered. We peeled back the bag. We were. Underwhelmed. "How much was this?" My friend said. "25 bucks" "Yo, for real?" "Uh, yeah". The sausage was....ground beef. The cheese was....from a bag. My friend, a renowned pizza expert had pointed the crust was dense enough to reveal "it was definitely a frozen crust and reheated" And still, we ate. I mean it's pizza so how bad is it. Aight.

There was some kind of a party going on inside so we decided to sit outside. The waiter was decent, and seemed knowledgeable about the menu. I wasn't sure if I wanted the garlic chicken pizza or the chicken fajita pizza. He said definitely the garlic chicken pizza. Since we walked to the restaurant from our hotel, I also had a Long Island iced tea. I wouldn't say the food was bad. However, I could neither see nor taste any garlic on my garlic chicken pizza. I could see and taste the chicken, peppers, and onions. I was not able to pick up any hint of garlic. One of the other coaches tried some of my pizza. He said he thought it could use a little something to give it a bit more flavor. I agreed. Maybe some garlic would have helped? My Long Island iced tea also tasted fine. However, I have to question the alcohol content. I drank it in less than half an hour and didn't feel a thing. I decided not to get another one. At $8.88 per drink, I didn't think it was worth it. I want to stress that the food and drinks we got tasted fine. I just didn't feel like I got what I ordered. We had a good time out on the patio, so the time wasn't wasted, but I highly doubt I'll be going back. I didn't take any photos because I wasn't expecting to do review. After thinking about it for a while, I decided people would want to know about my experience there. What do you think? Was this review helpful?

Another server noticed a balloon over a light in the ceiling which would have popped. We were with my service dog and my training service dog. This would have scared them quite a bit. I have eaten here a handful of times over the years. Every time I do, I remember how good the food…read moreis and wonder why I don't eat here more often. It looks like a typical sports bar/restaurant. What sets it apart is the quality of the food. With our most recent visit, we went at an off-peak time between lunch and dinner. The place was relatively empty. Service was timely. For an appetizer, we had fried pickles. These looked like they were cut, battered, and fried in-house and were good. For my entree, I had the Zombie Invasion Burger. They advertise it as possibly the best burger on the planet. I don't know if I would endorse it being the best on the planet, but it's definitely one of the better burgers I have had. It's a gourmet-type burger, pairing sweet with some zing. The fries were standouts as well. They weren't particularly fancy, but they were well seasoned (just salt and pepper) and based on the quality, I am guessing they were cut in-house and fried to order. My wife had a Mediterranean salad, which she liked. I did not try any of it, but I have had a salad there before (Plantation Salad) and thought it was pretty darned good. For dessert, I had the cheesecake. This was good. It wasn't necessarily great, but I left happy. Overall, the food here is really good and the prices are appropriate.

Do not go. Waste of money. Group of 6 and all of us were disappointed. Never will returnread more
