I'm not usually the biggest fan of Papa John's, but after what happened on New Year's Eve, this location has earned my loyalty. We placed our order at 10:21 p.m. and later received a call from the manager explaining that no delivery driver had shown up. He asked if we wanted to cancel, and we agreed but then he said he'd try to make it work. Not only did he find a way, he personally delivered our pizza himself right at midnight! What a perfect way to ring in 2026. It's people like him who truly deserve recognition. read more

Ordering process online was easy, that's why it gets two stars instead of one. Order time was 75- 85 minutes. It was a Sunday night at 6:30 so I didn't mind waiting. We order a New York style crust with pepperoni and an order of cheese bread. When I opened up the box, I immediately noticed that my food looks cool. Not even luke warm. And I was right. Also, my cheese sticks were only halfway covered with cheese (see picture) ALSO, my pizza was missing the pepperoni. I called the store and spoke with a manager. He voided my order but didn't seem very happy. I sent him picturess and he agreed that the food should have never left the restaurant. I enjoy papa johns but this experience sucked. read more

Like other people on here. Received my order after an hour and a half. I give a little more grace to these places. I worked for Papa John's a couple different times. They messed up my order and left off some of my sauces. When I called and talked to the manager, he said there isn't a driver in the area. Said that he could remove the charge . Out here, we have a choice of Dominos, Papa Johns, and Pizza Hut. We have not been happy with inconsistency where we've been buying, so we decided to try something else. So Papa Johns was up next. We ordered the food over the computer and it was a little easier than our regular place. Food was to be ready in 15-20 minutes, so I headed out. Upon arrival, I was met by some friendly help. They said the pizza was already ready for pickup. I checked it, and the order was right, but the Canadian bacon looked weird. Oh well. I got home with the pizza and cheese bread, and we dug in. I started with some cheese bread, and it was really good. However, they did skimp on the cheese. Then I tried the pizza. It was short on both hamburger and Canadian bacon. The taste was not was I was looking for either. Will I return? Choices are limited out here. I will really have to consider the last option before making my final decision. read more

The quality of the pizza at this location has sadly been in degrade for sometime now. The last few times I have bought pizza here I make sure to "pay cash" and I walk in telling myself if the pizza doesn't look good I'm leaving it and not coming back. However I end up buy it anyway because I feel bad. 100% of my last 6-7 orders have had at least two problems off this list. No cooked all the way, skimpy cheese (can see red), skimpy sauces, skimpy toppings not spread out evenly, bad cuts, large flaws in the crush circle. The pizza was clearly ready way before my pickup time. I have even started ordering with the app in the parking lot and just waiting for it. 30 min, 25 seconds on hold!! And it was actually longer,.... that just when I took the screen shot, just before "brian" the manager came back on the line just to hang up on me! The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because this papa John's usually has great pizza and even better customer service, but lately has been on a downward spiral. C'mon ....get it together please! I came to this location right after the Feb 2021 weather event that effected so many people and families. I over heard a call they received from a customer they helped during the worst of the weather. During the inclement weather, they got a call from a son who was calling on behalf of their elderly parents who live in Bulverde. The son pleaded that they deliver a pizza to his parents who had no power or water. Even though this location was only serving carry outs this day, they made the decision to deliver the food to his parents. The employees described the joy and relief on the elderly fathers face when he opened the door to see the hot food at his door step. This is what community is all about!! The pizza is good but waiting two hours for a cheese pizza and breadsticks for a 2 and 4 year old is ridiculous.

Ordered pizza for delivery at 7:15pm, states will arrive at 8:25pm it is now 8:47pm. I called and manager asks driver and driver says 20 more minutes. No apology from the manager, just states we are busy. Communication is key. Let me know you can't have my order out until after 9 pm so that I won't order if I need it sooner. SMH. Now in a bind having to feed the family at 8:48pm. Definitely not ordering from here again. read more

During the week the pizza is pretty good. But every time we order over the weekend it's bad. The crust is never fully cooked so you're eating a thin sheet of warm dough in the middle of the pizza. I'm guessing they speed up the cooking process over the weekend to get through all the orders. Night and day different in the middle of the week. We now try to avoid pizza here on Friday or Saturday nights. read more

Ordered a contactless delivery and left a good tip previous to the driver showing up. A punk kid with no mask shows up standing at the door ringing the doorbell over and over and refuses to leave the pizza at the door. Why offer a service when you can't provide it? Poor management! This papa Johnson has had some low point in the past, but I dii on t know if the management changed or what, but recently (maybe since 11/21) it's been top notch, fast and well put together pizzas, friendly staff too! While ordering over the phone, the call taker coughed directly into the phone making me cringe. Got there, paid, and waited. While sitting, I began to notice how filthy the place is. The pizza at the place is pretty good. It is at an ideal location near the grocery store. With four pizza chains out here, you wonder why they opened up a fifth one but it is probably at least second of pizza places around here. I went to pick up 2 pizzas then drove home. They were doughy and not cooked all the way. It was disgusting because I ate some of it thinking it was the cheese, but instead it was raw dough. I called them. The teen on the phone told me that the manager, Brian, said that they would not deliver us fully cooked pizzas.
