If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a specific size pizza and somehow still received the wrong size--which tells me there's little to no attention to detail happening here. This isn't complicated, it's basic. What really pushed this experience over the edge was the service from Akamu. No greeting, no effort to help, no accountability--just a flat-out unfriendly and dismissive attitude. It felt like helping a paying customer was an inconvenience. Let me be clear: bad orders happen, but bad attitudes are a choice. And this one made the entire experience worse. This place seriously needs to retrain staff or reevaluate who they have representing their business, because this was unacceptable from start to finish. First time visiting this Papa John's. It's located in the Ka Makana Alii Shopping Center in Kapolei. Plenty of parking. It is located across the parking lot from Foodland Farms. Check their website for specials. We had the thin crust garden pizza and the Works pizza. Both were very tasty and got the job done. I love pizza. I used to love Papa Johns too! Idk if it's this location or what, but the last couple orders from here were a let down. Anyways, I had to try their stuffed crust, and even more so when I found their special on the app! (Large stuffed crust 3 toppings for only 13.99). One of the pizzas I ordered with extra cheese, and they put all the toppings under the cheese?! Weird. I felt like it steamed the pizza because the crust was not crispy at all...and all the toppings, along with the cheese just slid right off :( The flavor wasn't there either. The pizza actually tasted really good/way better two days old lol, when we popped it in the toaster oven! It got super crispy. 4 stars for the service -1 for food being a bit well done for my daughter's taste. Roz was very helpful and friendly. She allowed me to change my soda drink order. On line they only had Diet Pepsi which I didn't want. So I asked if she had Mountain Dew in the back. She said yes but that the soda delivery was late and so those drinks were warm. Had some remaining restaurant debit card credits available so decided to get the large 3 topping pizza. Ordered pepperoni, spicy sausage and jalapeños and it was the best we had from any chain pizza restaurant in a long time! They did not skimp out on ingredients! Surprised by the negative reviews, i have always had good experiences here! Service is great both inside and delivery. Today 1/13/22 I ordered their new NY style Pizza! 2 large pizzas arrived within 40 min which was in line with their estimated time when I ordered online. The NY cheese pizza was thin crust very similar to what I have had in NYC, excellent! The Alfredo sauce on the other pizza i ordered was the best White pizza I have had in Hawaii. Alfredo is light and not too rich. Garlic flavor was a perfect balance. I HIGHLY recommend trying a pizza with Alfredo! This Papa John's location is the epitome of hit or miss. I've ordered delivery before, and one instance my pizza got mixed up with a different delivery service (Door Dash) even though I never even ordered through them. I had Door Dash customer service calling my phone asking me if I got my pizza yet. Nope I didn't. Made things pretty confusing. I called this Papa John's location and I got some smart ass that answered and was very unhelpful. For one, this was a breach of privacy as I did not give permission for Papa John's to hand over my personal information to another company for delivery purposes (or any reason, for that matter). I ended up getting my pizza btw. After waiting another hour. One other time I ordered and this bigger guy in a van pulled up and didn't even get out of his vehicle to give me my delivery. And then as I turned to walk inside, he stared creepily at me while I walked in. (I could see him through the glass reflection.) On another occasion, I had my order delivered and the garlic sauce inside had been deliberately opened and the sauce was leaking outside of the box. I did call and the "manager" wasn't very apologetic, just said he'd give me a free pizza as that can happen from the heat. (That's never happened to me before though?) When you order from this location and use delivery, you can either expect a delicious meal, or a horrible one. There's no in-between. I really need to pin down the pizza makers name who does an amazing job. Need to give him a shout out, he usually works weekends. But, it's really russian roulette with this location. There is no consistency at all in customer service nor pizza making. I've opted to picking up at this location before and you can usually expect it 80% of the time to be an awkward uncomfortable experience. It's rarely a breeze for pickup. Some guys come up to the register like they're annoyed they have paying customers. One of the younger girls that works there is really sweet though. Only had her once. Once I picked up here, I approached the counter as the app stated my order was ready for pickup, I walk in and one of the male workers approached me like he was interrogating me, and then come to find out, my order wasn't even ready. All in all, I wish you the best of luck in this game of roulette. The times you lose, you'll really wish you went for Dominos instead. My favorite chained pizza company! This particular location has been awesome since I moved here. PROs: It's Papa Johns awesome product. You could get any item and be pleased. Pizza, wings, or desert it's all outstanding. My personal favorite is the meats! With lots of extra pepper sauce and garlic sauce for dipping. The works is also a terrific choice if your into supreme pizzas. Before you order online make sure you check out their FB page for coupons. There is always a 20-50% coupon code on FB or google that is current for that month. CONs: I wish they would deliver to my house. I only live 4 miles away but they don't have enough drivers to cover very much delivery area. Very disappointing. We decided we wanted pizza at about 840 pm on a Thursday night. The closest pizza place to us at the time was Papa John's at Ka Makana Ali'i. We walked in and, to be honest, it looked cluttered because there was a cart of bottled sodas by the cooler right inside the doorway. There was no greeting or acknowledgement when we entered. We ordered our pizza and had a 20 minute wait so we walked around the mall to pass time. Pro tip, stores close at 9 pm on most days lol! Our pizza was ready when we got back. It was hot and cheesy, just the way we like it! It also comes with a garlic sauce that tastes reallllly good with the pizza! Not the best, but definitely not the worst experience we have had. Went to Papa johns ( Kamakana Alii) bill was 25.11 for a medium cheese pizza fine ok. Hand cashier 100.11, she started counting out a bunch of dollars bills. I am usually domino pizza person buy I decided to try this new Papa John at Ka Makana Alii. You can find some affordable coupons with flyers in a mailbox. It took less than 15min to make my pizza. I usually like NY style and thin crusts so had to say I was kind of dissapointed when I saw no option for crust on their online order app. My pizza was pretty decent for having only two toppings and I always love those garlic dipping sauce. read more

Ordered a carryout pizza and breadsticks online, but we went to the wrong Papa Johns! Helpful hint: this Papa Johns is along Kapolei Parkway, located in the new Kamakanaalii mall. When we arrived we waited in the front for about 2-3 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Most of the employees were in the back. However, the guy that came out was fast and friendly. The reason for two stars is because my order of original breadsticks was shocking! When I opened the box there were 10 pieces as described, but they were all different sizes! Some were long and skinny, like breadsticks usually are, others were shorter and some were triangle shaped! I was definitely expecting all the sticks to be the same size. My wife placed an order online and we sent our son to pick it up because we were notified the order was ready. When my son arrived, an employee there told him they mistakenly gave our order away to grub hub. Then they told him the other order they are making for us will be a 50 minute wait. If we are waiting 50 minutes for another pizza cause of their mistake, they are prioritizing other customers before fixing our order which says a lot about what they think about their customers. The manager on duty was yelling when I walked out after trying to discuss an Uber app scam called uber*eats (specifically spelled with the asterick *) and someone else picked up our order while the app stated order still pending . I immediately reported the fraud to my bank, deleted the papa johns kapolei uber*eats app and will not return to the location.
