If I could give zero stars I would. I usually order gluten free from Mountain Mike's but I thought I'd try here as I have never had pizza from here. Ordered gluten free The Works and it was the worst pizza I have ever had from an actual pizza restaurant and pizza period. I opened the box and was shocked, where are all the toppings? They had all that were supposed to be on it but they really skimped on them and it looked smaller than 10 inches which is the size they say it is. The crust tasted like cardboard, absolutely no flavor in the toppings. Never again will I order here. Store bought gluten free Digiorno's and Freschetta is way better and that is telling volumes about this place, if a frozen pizza beats yours. At least Mountain Mike's has flavor, the crust has more substance, they always put more of each topping and their pizza costs less. read more

I wish there's a ZERO star for this place. The word AWFUL is nice to them. So I ordered one large chicken BBQ pizza and UNSAUCED wings, I made it very clear that I want the wing UNSAUCED since I'm pregnant and can't have spicy sauced wings. After 30 minutes the ordered was delivered, but the pizza was actually dropped from the delivery man!!! The pizza had no cheese. The cheese was dropped on the sides of the box. ( photo attached ) and of course the wings were buffalo sauced!!!!!! EVEN THOUGH I made it clear I want the wings UNSAUCED. I called them and told them I can't eat this pizza, he told me that he will check with the delivery man and call me back, but he didn't so when I called him back he actually canceled my call! The ONLY store where it can take almost 1.5 HOURS to deliver and then LIE that the order is delivered when it is not. Just look at the store ratings compared to other stores. I placed the order online and the website show that "It is on the way". My place is only 10 minutes drive from the store. 40 minutes later, nothing happened. I called the store and the Manager said he'll check with the driver and call me back. I never received any call back. But the website suddenly show it has been "delivered" (?!), but I never received the order. So it's almost as if the store or the manager just change the system to show it's been "delivered". If you have similar issue, contact Papa John CORPORATE OFFICE (https://www.papajohns.com/contact-us/index.html) and tell them your experience. If a lot of people complaint, they can take action or shut down this store. Given the COVID situation, vote with our wallet. I don't really like to be a "Debbie Downer" and look at the negative, but when you experience it blatantly....that's a whole different story. I'm not going to beat around the bush here, I'm just going to get right into it. So, I live in Pittsburg, this "Papa John's" location is in Concord, right off Clayton Rd. On the website there isn't any mention of the "Big Shaq" pizza listed, but the main website didn't say anything about it being a limited offering either. So I called this location and asked if they still had it, the person on the phone told me they did. So, only living about 15 min away from this location, I ordered it and then set off to get this supposed pizza that is "Shaq" sized. So on to Papa John's regular marketing. The "Big Shaq" is listed as an Xtra Large Pizza, loaded with pepperoni and cheese on a thin NY style crust. The large pizza at "Papa John's" is 14in, and the XLarge pizza is 16in. "Papa John's" don't make their XLarge Pizza in thin crust, so in fact the "Big Shaq" is an Thin Crust Large Pizza. Honestly what's two inches, it's not the size that counts after all, it's the motion in the ocean, well there wasn't any motion in this pizza pie. What I got was a cold pizza, no pull from the cheese, and a thin crust that I could compare to eating cardboard. Oh not to mention the price, the "Big Shaq" is advertised as a $12 pizza, which with the "8.75" sales tax including the new $.48 covid tax put me around $14.61 all together....No, what I got charged was for a Thin Crust Large Pizza at the normal price of $24.49 with a $6.50 discount bringing the price to $19.61 which is $5.00 more than the supposed price of the pizza. I know some of you may be wondering why I'm so into the numbers on this one, well for me it's the principal of the whole thing. If the pizza is on a secret menu, or isn't offered, just be honest with your customers and let them know that. Heck, I didn't even get he pizza box with the "Shaq" image on it to add insult to injury. Just last week a friend of mine with to the Walnut Creek location, which I believe to be affiliated with this franchise, and she got the same pizza, with the "Shaq" box and the correct price. Honestly the pizza wasn't any better then one you could buy from the frozen section of your nearest grocery store for comparison sake. In Closing: I don't eat pizza too often as I'm not really a pizza person. But after an amazing experience at "Red Tomato Pizza House" this past week and then coming here and this is what I get....It's a big difference and I am needless to say disappointed. I usually like ordering from Papa John's as their deals are pretty good and I love their stuffed crust pizza, but this time they tried scamming me. I wanted to try out their wings for once and they tried to jip me out on my order. I placed 4 orders which comes with sauce for each one. I always use the app which tracks my order but it always tells me it's ready before it actually is. I always have to wait inside another five or ten minutes, and today, again, I had to do the same. Not a big deal for me, but I suppose notable nonetheless. Then, I was given my order and asked for a bag for my food. The man took the stack of wings and placed them one by one in the bag for me. After getting in my car, I looked through the wings to find that each of my orders was missing two wings except the one in the very bottom (originally on top before being placed in the bags). I think they strategically tried to fill the box on top with the correct amount of wings and not complete the full order of the others. Additionally, one box was missing a sauce. I went back in to get my order corrected, and that's just what happened. Each order was given the proper amount of wings and even an additional one. I did not appreciate the fact that the advertised free garlic knots with first order and when I asked for them I was told that expired yesterday. We are regulars at this Papa Johns and eat here somewhat frequently. These guys have always been top notch and when there had been a problem, they have always taken care of it and were very graceful about it. I just placed an order for 2 pizzas and 3 side items. Not a huge complicated order or anything. It's 9:50 pm at this point. I get a phone call within 2 minutes of ordering. The guy on the phone tells me "I'm so sorry, we are all out of stuffed crust" ... I'm thinking... you ran out of cheese, to roll into the crust... whatever. I reply "Oh that sucks, alright, could you please make it regular crust" The response I get "No not really, I'll be voiding your order" Me: "Oh I see, you must be closing and you do not want to stay open a few minutes late" Response: "Yeah, alright, you have a wonderful evening" and the dude hung up. I don't know what happened, but this dude deserves to get fired. Don't lie to your customers. Had he said "we close in 10 minutes and we can't get it done that quick" or "I'm sorry, we can't". I would have first offered a tip for staying and knocking out my order or if that was not sufficient incentive, I would have accepted. I ordered from here this weekend. The crest itself is okay as always that the white sauce that came on the pizza was really kind of weird and nasty and there wasn't much cheese. Toppings were not existent. I guess that's what you get for $8. I probably will not return. I know that Round Table is a little more money, but I think that it's worth it. Granted, it was their second day open to the public but they messed up our order and it was like pulling teeth to get it corrected. The pizza crust was decent but the topping were sparse. Onions overpowered the Hawaiin BBQ Chicken Pizza and the garlic ranch sauce was very tart on another pizza. We ordered the pizza for pickup and when we walked in, the 2 cashiers acted like we didnt exist. We finally had to say to them - WE HAVE A PICKUP and the one cashier walked away. I decided to get pizza here. I read the reviews and it seems to be mixed. As for me, I didn't have much issue with this place. It's your typical pizza chain. You order a pizza, you get your pizza. It's the standard. I am a big fan of white sauce, so I get the Papa John's white/ranch sauce with my pizzas. As for the toppings, I think Papa John overall consistently gives the same amount of toppings in each chain/store. If you find a good pizza deal, I would definitely go for it. So whenever I'm in the area and in the mood for some breadsticks I stop by this location. So a few days ago I came here and ordered the plain breadsticks. I asked about the dips and the guy at the counter said it was 75 cents a piece. The different sauces used to be free. So I just ordered the garlic cheese dip. The guy at the counter was very nice and prompt. No rudeness when I told him they used to be free. He even gave me two different sauces for free. The breadsticks came piping hot. It was crunchy on the outside while soft on the inside. And you dip it in either cheese or garlic dip. Delish! read more
