So this would be a rather short review other than the tracker app that Papa John's uses should honestly just go in the garbage because the last two times it has said that my pizza was ready it has not been. Though I would recommend this Papa John's, I would caution people to follow up and maybe PICK UP their order. We were staying in the parking lot (with our camper) of a great local brewery, Harvest host members Silia. Their food truck for the evening never showed up, so we needed a delivery (it was too hot to cook in the camper trailer). The lady I spoke to with my order seemed disengaged and I tried to be very clear about my allergy to all chili peppers, bell peppers etc. Even though it was about 7pm on a weeknight, the order took about 75 minutes instead of the 45 I was quoted. The pizza it self was ok but not one of the best I have had with Papa John's, AND, there was a green chili pepper!!! Not gonna lie; I go to Papa John's for the original breadsticks. No other chain makes them even similar, as most are just flat pizza crust dough buttered and seasoned, and cut into a rectangle. Papa John's is in a class of its own; not even the "Italian" restaurant that people think of for breadsticks comes close. These are fresh and soft, and one of my comfort foods. I do prefer the fatter center ones, and I am every so often disappointed with super skinny breadsticks, and others in the house are requested to eat the pointy, shorter end pieces. I did notice this most recent batch seemed to be cut pretty uniformly and several were connected as pairs, so maybe there's been a new cutting technique since the last time I had them. Now for this specific location. The Alabaster location has often been a bit of an unsung hero in unusual times. They are troopers when much of the city is without power but they still have it and just start cranking out pizzas and breadsticks. There have been days when they've cooked all the dough they have due to either demand or supply issues. Sure, I've gotten a less than perfectly cooked pizza, or some oddly distributed toppings, or (shudder) skinny breadsticks. They, like many other restaurants, have had challenges over a few years, but they also rise to the occasion the best they can, and for that--and those breadsticks--I will always go back. read more

Ordered pizza Saturday evening for delivery, the gentleman taking our order sounded like we were inconveniencing him w questions. After finally getting the order in we asked to have the driver come to the back porch as we were all outside watching football, after acting further inconvenienced he said our order would be 45 min, we asked again to make sure he had the note to come around back he sighed and said yes. After a hour twenty we called the store, the person in charge (Steven) said the pizza had been delivered. We checked and sure enough it had been delivered to the front door, no call or nock or doorbell just left my pizza sitting on the porch. We asked Steven why they wouldn't try to contact us and he told us there was a do not contact note but no come to the back note. My wife asked again why it was just left, he began to raise his voice and again advised that was the policy, when asked again he began to yell at her. I got on the phone and he yelled at me as well, I then raised my voice and he hung up. I took the pizza to the store and asked for a refund and was told I couldn't speak to him that way and demanded I leave. I did. I will eat my cold pizza that was laying on the ground but I won't be silent. I had to get my Friday fix of pizza and since I had a free Large, 2 topping pizza available in my rewards, I took advantage of the offer. For the past 3-4 years, I think I have ordered online or through the app. It is always a quick way to get things done. Today I ordered the large with pepperoni, sausage, and my usual extra sauce. I use the tracker to see what step my pizza was on. As I sat in the parking lot, it showed that it was being boxed. When I arrived inside the store, several workers spoke to me, I gave my name, and my pizza was ready. Not too shabby. I do wish this location would deliver but, I usually stop by on my way from work. What was supposed to be a relaxing night at home watching movies and eating pizza, started out with a call to alabaster police department. Jeff went to Papa Johns Pizza in alabaster, Store #696 565 1ST ST N., Alabaster, AL 35007, to pick up our pizza. He called me as he was getting in the car from picking up our order to confirm that we only ordered two pizzas because we typically order three. I explained that I ordered three and told him that I would send him a screenshot of the order. Jeff didn't know that he didn't hang up the phone so I was on the phone listening. He went back inside to tell the guy who gave jeff our order that he was given someone else's order. Jeff put the pizza on the counter and said "I'm glad I called my wife, I think you gave me the wrong order, we ordered three pizzas". Jeff said that the employee picked up the top pizza and said, Is she Melanie? this Is your order. I could hear jeff say, look at my phone here is the order.  The employee didn't want to hear that he had given us someone else's order and that all jeff wanted was the pizza that we ordered and paid $58 for. He started yelling for jeff to get the "F$&@ out of his store" and kept cursing at him. Jeff kept telling him no and was trying to show him the order so that we would get the correct pizzas. I literally had to call 911 to tell them that my husband was being screamed at and confronted by this employee because my husband was given the wrong pizza and wanted the correct pizza. The police came, jeff was calm, which they noted before they even went into papa John's to see what was going on. The employee had called 911 on my husband because he came back inside to get our pizzas and return the ones we were given. The employee confronted the police and immediately got irrational and confrontational. It was a completely insane situation. We will not be going back to that Papa John's ever again. The officer took a report because he said this was the craziest thing. The officer knew that something was was wrong when the manager was rude to them and Jeff was calm. Hopefully the corporate office will pull the video from the camera behind the counter. I can't imagine the owner of this franchise knows how his employees treat their customers. read more

I've always been happy with the pick up service at this store. Tonight I had guests over so I ordered delivery for the first time. When the pizza didn't arrive after 45 minutes, I checked their website to get the status. It said they were still preparing it. I called the store and was told it was out for delivery but the delivery time was set to 2 hours. There was no notice of that on the website. I was told my pizza would arrive in the next 15 minutes. It was another 40 minutes before it arrived. Three people who were visiting went out for food and came back before the pizza came. When the pizza was delivered, it was cold and soggy. It looked like it had been sitting out for a couple of hours. Now I'm stuck with too much pizza because some of our guests went out to eat. What a disappointing experience! read more

Carry out Order. Walked in a guy at the register was on a call taking an order. 5 staff members total. No acknowledged by any of them period. Not even eye contact and their all male. I could have been a robber or killer or none of them would've had a single defense against me. Smh. After 3 minutes one guy looked at me and smiled still said nothing. The guy taking the order finishes and looks up and says Carryout and last name. I was 15 minutes early for my pickup and my order was already sitting on a shelf. I paid he and he walked off. Get home and the food is warm. The pizza was unevenly cooked. The wings were wet like they hadn't been cooked enough. The brownies were perfect. Lol. I will not be going back. Better not try and pay with anything larger than a $10 bill. They refused a customer who was trying to pay for his order with a $50 bill. The manager said they do not accept any bills larger than $10. The customer left his 4 medium and 1 small pizza and probably went to Dominos. I talked to the customer in the parking lot. Very bad customer service. I always placed online orders to get points toward future purchases. However you can not order half and half pizzas online. I called to let tell them I wanted half and half. John, the pizza police and supposedly manager, answered and told me I could not make that request. I guess John was on his period that day. I have never seen someone make such a big deal over a darn pizza! I have never had an issue before with any other employees. I called back and the young lady told me sure she could make it. My husband arrived early and this guy is bad mouthing me without realizing the customer was my husband. He then starts chastising me while I was on the phone with my husband. He told my husband to tell me next time I can not alter order from online. I thought a business is supposed to be customer oriented. Not here! He was fussing at that young lady because she was doing what she was supposed to do, customer service! Also, my husband wasn't sure of the price and called me because I ended up ordering an XL vs regular. He was huffing and puffing and rushing my husband to verify order. My husband was fed up and told him he had a bad attitude and cursed as he was tired of him complaining. He refused to give him the pizza and voided the order. I contact corporate and they apologized for his behavior. However you would think they would offer more than an apology. Maybe a discount or credit. Nope..nothing.
