We received the mailer for this establishment a couple weeks ago and have been waiting for it to open. I always support local business before going to a chain so I couldn't wait to try this place out; it's in the neighborhood and delivers for free with a minimum purchase. Anyway, today I did a test run with their $9.99 cheese pizza special (mon and tues). After a hiccup the management was solid and their level of customer service was fantastic. Every new place has growing pains and that's fine. The pie itself was phenomenal; perfectly cooked and perfect flavor. I'm a damn yankee so I am a pizza snob. The staff was great and the pizza was even better. I will re-review this after my next order. They have a line of sandwiches I need to explore. read more

The best cake I've ever tasted and the best food service was super nice I recommend coming here

I ordered from them and they sent the wrong pizza. Never got the right one and I had to toss the one I paid for since it had ingredients on it that I am allergic to and I couldn't find a Neighbor who wanted it. I ordered through Slice and they told them that they sent a replacement but they didn't and I didn't get a refund either. Just so you know. Hopefully other people have been satisfied. read more

We decided to get takeout pizza and wings this weekend. We ate Papa Gios in Lexington. This is the first time we tried the pizza. It was a great choice. The pizza tasted great. The wings also had a great flavor. It reminded me of pizza and wings in NY. read more

Food was excellent, and delivery was similar. Will definitely recommend them to anyone I know coming to Columbia sc. read more

I visited this place for the first time yesterday. While I like their pizza and the staff was friendly I encountered a shock when I went to pay. What should have been $23 for a large pizza and 1 fountain drink (according to menu prices) cost me $29 and change. I was told that prices had gone up. That is a real underhanded way of doing business so I won't be making a return visit. If you choose to eat here, I would suggest getting a total at the time you order. Otherwise, they are free to charge you whatever they want. .. read more

Not good not even close to good. Go buy a frozen pizza and it will probably test better. There are too many choices to ever want to go back to this overpriced and terrible pizza. May have just caught them on an off night. read more

Did not disappoint... finally real bruschetta!!! Garlic knots were great and shrimp marinara was fabulous! Wish I didn't stay so far away but I will make the trip across town to visit again! read more

Great food we really enjoyed it. My Grandma and I are here for lunch today. The service was great and the amount of food that you get is good too. If you leave from there still hungry after your meal that is your own dang fault that is for sure. It is just an all around great place to eat. I Highly recommend it to anybody who likes Italian food. read more

I ordered delivery from Papa Gios tonight. I had the gnocchi with side salad and garlic knots. I also had a sweet tea. I was underwhelmed. It is obvious the food is not made fresh. The gnocchi was doughy and had very little flavor. The bread was a salad of tasteless and bland. The salad had one cherry tomato, one half moon slice of cucumber and lettuce. The best part was the pre packaged ranch dressing. Yummy. The sweet tea was instant not brewed. Save money and buy frozen at the grocery store--it will turn out better than this meal. read more

Omg... I've been wanting mussels in white sauce for forever and it seems now that restaurants have drifted from that and are only using red sauce.. these mussels were amazing! I can't wait to go back! read more

Papa Gios is a good restaurant with a large menu and quality food. Other than small eating area I would recommend. read more

Papa Gios - Pizza box - Pizza Near Me - Irmo, South Carolina

After waiting an hour and 45 minutes, my delivery pizza came room temperature at best; very disappointing. Absolutely ridiculous and appalling for a restaurant. This might be one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. read more

As a New Yorker, I can tend to be a pizza snob. I'm really picky about pizza. This pizza is the real deal. My only issue is with the delivery. It is insanely slow and somewhat unreliable. We ordered Pizza at 4:30 were given a 60 minute wait time and 2 hours later we had to call because we didn't have our pizza yet. When it finally arrived it was hot and good. For the pizza I would give it 5 stars, delivery and customer service - needs serious improvement. read more

"First time used Yelp to order from Papa Gios and delivery by GrubHub. Everything was Awesome!!! I cannot wait to order again!!"

Some of you southerners don't know good food at all Bo Jangles Jersey mikes and all that bullshit processed food. New Yorkers we know food ! We don't have waffle houses and red lobsters and all our olive gardens shut down out of business WHY ..... cause it's shit ! papa gios has been the closest I have found to real New York food. It's all homemade and the pizza "Great" ...And for the guy who didn't like the Alfredo try Frazolis on harbison that should be more your style ! They can microwave it for you read more

The pizza is delicious at this takeout pizza place. Yes, they have eat in tables but the dining room is definitely it the focus here.

Takes forever but the food is delish!!!!! It's nice to have a GREAT pizza place in Irmo. Try the chicken rolls there too die for. So good

In my opinion, the place was much better under the former owners. The order I placed arrived an hr and a half after ordering...and the order was wrong. Half the ingredients we're missing out of the wrap I ordered. Standard ingredients. It wasn't a special order. I messaged the restaurant about reimbursement or replacement and received no reply. If they would've at least contacted me back instead of ignoring me I wouldn't have been so upset although my food arrived way after my lunch break. For the horrible experience, I'll never be ordering here again. read more

Being a Southerner I've always heard about "Northern" pizza and decided to try it. Very very good, will come back more because of the different variety of selections. Closest we have to what pizza and other Italian food is supposed to taste like. read more

Only ordered through Slice and it didn't work. Hate it. Slice doesn't work and this place should use a different service

The food quality is dominos at best. Costs to much for what you are actually getting. Chicken alfredo was Horrid most of the sauce was spilled out in the box. Couldnt stomach eating it. Pizza slice was Ok. Dont think i will be ordering again. Far to expensive for what you actually get. read more

Well we weren't sure about this place. But after giving them a try, we thought the pizza was great. Toppings all the way to the edge, yummy sauce. They told us the amount of time they'd have it delivered and they were spot on. Kinda pricey. read more

Awesome food each time, which makes it worth the wait the wait for delivery. The delivery drivers are always very nice!! We will continue ordering from here in the future!! read more

The slice of cheese pizza was okay not crazy about it, it was bland I had to add salt to give it flavor. I do appreciate that they serve by the slice unlike all the other pizzerias in South Carolina. I ordered Garlic parm wings as well, just two words NEVER AGAIN! It was greasy, unseasoned, and nasty. I squeezed one wing with a paper towel and you should've seen the grease that came out. I would not consider coming here again. Ol dude was rude, I saw no one wash their hands not once, not even sanitizer. The cashier came from outside straight to the front handling money then instantly touch food. Won't be coming back. Waste of money and unclean. read more

Ordered a Large Pizza from Papa Gio's. Delivery was 10-15 min late. When the delivery arrived I noticed that the pizza wasn't in a warmer. Opened up the carton lid to find a cold pizza. I was already pretty Hangry so took a quick slice out. First impression was "The sauce tastes like Ragu out of a can." There wasn't enough cheese on the pizza to balance out the taste of Ragu. Once the pizza was heated back up, the crust had a little crisp to it and it tasted a little better. Don't recommend their pizza. Haven't tried anything else on the menu yet, so cant speak for anything else. read more

I ordered delivery and the pizza was not the best; a bit dry and tough but altogether average. I also ordered a Coke Zero and was given a Diet Coke- which may have been the delivery person's fault so I don't hold that against the restaurant. read more

I was very dissapointed with the service. this my go to pizza restaurant since i've been in SC. I don't know what happened this time...no ketchupI i ordered hamburger and fries)..no napkins, didn't order hamburger /bacon...just a cheeseburger..and the fries were cold and you can't eat cold fries and he was like 20minutes late...I think I better leave them alone for a minute and look else where.... read more

Pizza cold on arrival. Good, but cold. Waited an hour for cold pizza. Also, they use canned mushrooms. I prefer fresh mushrooms.....jfyi

Great food and awesome prices. Pizza by the slice, wings and some of the best Stromboli I've ever had. I love that they deliver as well. Anytime Im back in Columbia, I will pop by for a slice! read more

The best pizza in South Carolina! I grew up in New York and I can say this is some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The white pizza is truly exceptional and I will never settle for anything less! Garlic knots are delicious and come in enormous quantity. The manicotti is better than my grandmothers and the eggplant parm is fresh as can be. The house salad dressing is the BEST house dressing that I have ever tasted. To top off the excellent food, the service is phenomenal! I feel like a part of the family and Papa Gio is always present and welcoming! Do not pass up on this place if you are in the area!!! read more

At 8:15 pm, I ordered food to be delivered at 9:15 pm (I live 5 minutes from the restaurant). It showed up at 10 pm!! What is the point in allowing a person to specify the delivery time of their order if it doesn't show up in time? I called when it was 15 minutes late, and I was told to call back if it didn't arrive in the next 10-15 minutes. So I did. The person said something like, "Well, it's out of the store. He had 3 deliveries so it should be there soon." Which is what I was told the first time I called. So I asked if they could provide an estimate of actual delivery time. The person reluctantly called the driver to find out it'd be another 10-12 minutes. That's 45 minutes past the delivery time!!!!! When the food finally arrived, it food was completely cold. The pizza was soggy and the cheese had slid all over the pie so you couldn't see whether it had even been cut. Because it was completely cold, when trying to take a slice of the pie, the cheese was pulled off the surrounding pieces. Because the garlic knots had also cooled--basically steaming themselves in their Styrofoam container, they were dough-y as if they had been re-heated in the microwave. Horrible experience with delivery. Maybe choose to dine in if you dine here at all. read more
