Great place for a quick bite of Taiwanese flavors. We ordered a few snacks, beef noodle, and the recommended sesame flat bread that is delicious! Service is friendly and food comes out fast. Consider it a neighborhood fast food place with tasty bites, good value and quantity.

Came here to get a quick bite and definitely enjoyed the food. Price is cheaper than going to McDonald's and the waitress was nice. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu

Papa Chang's on 16th Avenue in Markham is a long-running established Taiwanese street food restaurant. Delicious tasty food. Attentive and fast service. Excellent value. Cheery fast-paced ambiance. Inside the small restaurant it can get crowded pretty fast, my tip is to place your order for takeout or on SkipTheDishes to avoid a wait. R02 - Taiwanese Sausage and Minced Pork on Rice with an soy egg - filling and nourishing. A14 - Taiwanese Style Meatball - texture was good. A03 - Deep Fried Fish Cake* - flavourful and sweet.

I used to come here every week in high school! A great place for some affordable Taiwanese food. It is a smaller restaurant but can seat quite a few people. Be aware that there is a charge for using the card machine (better to bring cash)! The classic Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken is a must-try. Great flavour, and the chicken is nice and juicy. I'm also a fan of their Salted Squid Balls, Fried Fish Cake, Bentos, and Minced Pork on Rice (with egg and Taiwanese sausage). Also, if you have never tried intestine before, the Crispy Intestine will change your life! The best intestines I've ever had to date. The other dishes like some of the soups are just alright in my opinion, but their snacks are all pretty safe choices. I will say they have become more expensive, charging for the sauce that comes with the Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken for take-out, which used to be included for free. I will still be coming here when my craving for popcorn chicken kicks in though!

It's a tiny Taiwanese resto at Markham Road and 16th Ave. BBQ chicken sesame flat bread: Chicken was cooked nicely. Flatbread could've been lighter (it was quite dense) but the accompanying bbq sauce was tangy and moreish. Chicken skewers: My friend liked these because of the wasabi mayo they threw on top. Ironically, his gf disliked them for the exact reason. I thought they could've used a bit more seasoning on the actual meat underneath the batter. Chicken cutlet curry on rice: I'm not sure if this was an attempt at japanese curry or not but it was very fusiony and wasn't a fan of the random frozen veggies on top of the bowl. The curry itself was not bad but the chicken could've been more moist. Pork cutlet curry on rice: Same comment on the veggies as above. The pork was a lil more tender than the chicken. Curry w/ beef on rice: Didn't actually get to try this, but my friend who ordered it said it was a hard pass lol. Pork cutlet bento: Cute lil bento order that comes w/ 3 sides (one of them being veggies). The portion size is quite small and I would worry for you if you've got a big appetite. Meat floss pancake: A pretty iconic staple when it comes to Taiwanese snacks. This was a decent one. Wouldn't order again though. Popcorn chicken bento: Between this and the regular side order of popcorn chicken, I think the popcorn chicken side order is WAY more worth it. You get more chicken and you'll prolly get more full too. They are also priced similarly. Popcorn chicken: Another iconic Taiwanese snack. This was a pretty good popcorn chicken. Nice big portion and the sauce that came w/ it was tangy. Signature beef noodle soup: I thought the soup was on the sweeter side (which was interesting). Usually I'm used to more savoury soups for beef noodle. There was a generous amount of pickled mustard greens which was nice. They used beef chunks instead of beef slices which was proper. The tendon was really tender but I wish they would've given me more beef instead of tendons (I wonder if they'd be willing to do this as a request). The noodles were firm and chewy. I don't think they make their noodles in-house but they were good noodles. Very decent Taiwanese spot! The popcorn chicken is prolly the most worth it dish here. They also have party trays which I might explore in the future.

A hole in a wall joint serving Taiwanese street food. Popcorn chicken, noodle, pancake, ground beef are all ready to satisfy your hunger. Good taste and good quality as well. Just bring your cash or pay with Canadian debit card; which is the norm for all the eateries in Markham area

I came here for dinner once and really enjoy their food, it was decently price and good at the same time. Service was also really fast even tho they were busy. It was overall A good experience. I came back to get a party tray recently and for the amount of variety it was definitely not too expensive. The food was good too! I would definitely be back again!

A great go-to spot in the area. Cheap and delicious food and. Most people get takeout as the place is pretty small. Their signature dish is their popcorn chicken so if you can, see if you can try it! Otherwise, I usually like to get the chili taiwanese sausage with mince pork w/ rice (8.49). It comes with an egg and I think you can get one that is maybe 0.50-1.00 cheaper if you don't like chili. Super tasty, filling, and a great meal for under $10. Definitely would recommend you try it out!

Papa Chang's is such a nostalgic spot for me. During high school, I would often get something from Papa Chang's after school for a snack (yes, I needed some big snacks due to a small appetite during school). I have always loved their Beef Noodle Soup because it's really comforting, warm, and savoury. The broth is always rich with beef flavour and the beef is usually quite tender. It is definitely my favourite dish there. Other than that, I often get their skewer chicken, or taiwanese sausage and minced pork rice. I have also tried a number of their rice boxes and appetizer type items. They are also tasty and they give good portions! I appreciate how their prices have been kept so low throughout their existence. I recommend this spot as an easy, cheap meal option!

Deep fried pork chop bento was decent. Pork chop was well fried, came with mild sweet sauce and some soy sauce minced pork. Portion wasn't huge & the 3 side dishes were ok. Braised pork on rice was very tasty. It was a mix of pork belly & ground pork. The pork belly had a good proportion of fat. The rice was a bit uneven though. Signature beef noodle soup was decent. They haven't raised their prices since before covid, which is nice. HeySong root beer is a Taiwanese sarsaparilla brand. It's quite medicinal and not nice.

Food was good had homestyle and affordable prices ! Service was quick to the point. Small shop and had lots of old fashion mom and pop feel. Not too much sitting

Classic Taiwanese popcorn chicken taste! Went to Papa Changs after getting hungry shopping at the mall and got there around 4PM-5PM. It was completely empty inside and I was honestly a little worried. A few employees were sitting on their phones to the side of the store. I spoke with a lady behind the ordering counter about what I should order/what she suggests (even though I knew I would definitely be ordering the popcorn chicken). She suggested the Taiwanese sausage with braised meat rice so I got that and the popcorn chicken bento box. I would def not recommend the sausage rice (I wish I took a photo of it) it had 80% rice, a thin layer of braised meat sauce & 1 Taiwanese sausage cut up. The Taiwanese sausage was fine (taste wise) so I suggest ordering that as a snack instead of as a meal. The popcorn chicken bento box on the other hand was good! Like I mentioned earlier, it's the classic popcorn chicken taste we all love and are used to. The bento box had a good amount of chicken, not too much rice (also came w/ a thin layer of meat sauce on it) & 3 small random sides which I thought wasn't bad. My favorite of the sides was this tempura fish cake that had a sauce similar to Taiwanese oyster egg pancake! Overall I say if you come here get the popcorn chicken! It won't disappoint! If you're not that hungry for the bento box the snack version would be great too! Also try to enjoy ASAP if it's takeout since the lids are plastic & the chicken gets soggy after a while

Decently filling portions for what they look like - was more satisfied than expected given we were pretty hungry when we walked in! Quality is reasonable for the price ($). Also note that this place only takes cash / debit. I had the chicken teriyaki bento which had a lot of different components / flavors. The sauces used were also interesting - the teriyaki one reminded me of wasabi. The fish cake sauce almost felt like it was going to be spicy but it wasn't. The tofu would have been better if it came with soy sauce / some flavoring. Overall I would say this was a 3.5 / 5 - it's worth coming if you're just looking for a filling meal with a cheap price.

I came here on a weekday, there was no line, hardly anyone on the second floor. I looked at their menu (lots of options) and finally got the attention of the worker inside and pointed to the picture of what I wanted. There was a bit of back and forth with the worker, she kept waving me to look at the menu to tell her what I wanted, but I was clearly pointing to the photo of what I wanted. Service was a bit rude, she wasn't very friendly, nor did she try to understand what I wanted. I didn't think language barrier would be an issue if I was clearly pointing to the photo of what I wanted in my sticky rice. I will say that the sticky rice was very delicious and well balanced. It was VERY greasing on the exterior of their packaging which was saran wrap. The food made it a better rating, but I can't shake off the rude customer service. Questionable if I will be back though.

This lunch set was really worth it as this combo included 6 side dishes, a main dish with a soup or milk tea...and for the main dish, you could choose Danmi noodles or Minced pork rice and we picked the noodles since we got the Pork Hock & Minced pork rice for our 2nd lunch set. The two of us shared all the items except my friend insisted that I have the marinated abalone side dish and this was so good! I will definitely be coming back because of this dish! I also liked the Danmi noodles and Pork Hock. Although the food was amazing but the service was lacking.
