I think it's fair to say that, as a handyman, José has quite the repair-toire (you can't escape the puns!). Over the course of about three service visits, I'm confident to say that I definitely recommend him to take care of your needs. One job he completed involved a broken closet door that I opened up in a hulk- like haste and broke. For that job, he had to go out and get another part and make another trip. Another recent job I had him complete was installing a new microwave over a range. Each time, he arrived early (maybe a tad too early if I'm honest) and finished the job very fast. During the pandemic he appeared to take proper precautions via masking; however, I didn't notice gloves. He and his partners were very friendly too. Jose, the owner came out the day we called to have our huge old safe opened because the combination stopped working. He spent hours drilling and sawing thru cement! Finally he was able to recover our Valuables. Other companies either weren't interested or outrageously expensive. For Jose it was a challenge and he likes to help people. My toilet gasket between the tank and bowl needed to be replaced. I could not get the third screw out at the back w/o the tools. My kitchen sink got detached from the granite counter. The only thing that was supporting it was the metal bracket underneath. Jose was able to come to my house within the week got it attached again! It wasn't a simple task but he and his worker got it done in less than 2 hours! I also appreciate that he explain to me what the issue was (apparently 3 big screws were missing from the metal brackets that helps hold the sink, and the wood panel under the granite counter was cut much larger than it should be for the sink) and what he needs to do to get the sink attached again. Thought this guy was reasonable, but seemed in a rush. Didn't complete all of the tasks asked to do/involved. Maybe a language thing? Put the door pad in the wrong place, did not install all of the door stoppers that I bought. Jose does great work! I contacted him as I was looking for someone to replace carpet and install laminate floors in our new condo. While he was onsite providing the estimate, I mentioned I was also looking for someone to paint the interior of our new place. Sorry to write this bad review but I feel obligated to warn others. Hired Jose because of his 5 star ratings. He was prompt, polite, and gave me a good price. However, I hired him to replace a broken cabinet hinge repair a sliding drawer, and fix two holes--one in the ceiling and one near a baseboard. He tried but gave up on the hinge saying it was not the right one, but would not help me find the right one, and put in the drawer slides wrong so it wouldn't slide. He gave up on that too and said it was the wrong slides. I had to hire another handyman who was able to put them in correctly. The new handyman also got the proper hinges and replaced them. Josedid fix the holes but click on the picture to see how it came out. Believe it or not this is an 'after' picture. You can see the tape coming through and the sloppy job finishing. He charged me the same price even though he did not fix the first two things on my list. read more
